Second time around. As a family, we appreciate the warmth and friendly atmosphere that this restaurant offers. It’s got good bites too such as the ayam penyet though my son feels that the chili sauce that comes with it ought to be a tad spicier. My husband likes the soto ayam as it’s broth is light and tasty. We love its alpukats, cendol and murtabak manis too. We also appreciate the fact that we were allowed to stay on and finish our meal last night even though it was beyond it’s opening hours. Thank you so much for the hospitality last night Team Dapoer Kita!

The best Authentic Indonesian cuisine in Dubai. We’ve been tried many Indonesian restaurants but not as good as Dapoer Kita. The menu contains many varieties of traditional Indonesian food and the price isn’t expensive compare to other Indo restaurants we’ve been to. The inside is very clean. The owner is really friendly. We live the other side far away from the Dapoer Kita but the trip for the food definitely worth it!! Highly recommend if you love Indonesian cuisine!
Dapoer Kita (Indonesian for “Our Kitchen”) is an authentic Indonesian restaurant on Street 43A, behind Lulu Hypermarket in Karama. A recent change in ownership has seen its simple interior repainted and some of the menu changed – that’s it. Why fix what ain’t broke? One usually associates affordable, authentic Indonesian with Betawi but it’s Dapoer Kita which has always been my favourite of the two. It’s interesting that every time I have visited this modest little restaurant, I have been the only non-Indonesian there.

Authentic Indonesian food served here. The servers are very nice and guide very properly. They do serve buffet along with a la carte menu. Nasi pasel ayam and mie gorang we're very nice.
I visited Dapoer Kita In June and since then I have been back 3/4 times already. Each time leaves me wanting more.
I really reccomend the rendang curry, satay ayam and Nasi Goreng. The tahu gejrot/ tofu is lovely too - but I reccomend sharing it between 2/3 people as I think it is better as a side than a main dish. The portion sizes are huge!
Service has always been super speedy. You can take your own drink in and our bill is usually less than £30 for 2 people! Amazing value for money.

This is a quiet, quintessential Indonesian restaurant located in the old part of Dubai. It has a homely atmosphere with friendly staffs and some great food. We ordered Mie Goreng and Sate Ayam as recommended by the staff who was very patient and courteous with us.
*Mie Goreng: This was my favorite. It came with crackers. It was a plate full of some flavourful, awesome stir-fried noodles with generous amounts of veggies and chicken.
*Sate Ayam: Grilled pieces of skewered chicken coated in peanut sauce accompanied with steamed rice. The peanut sauce and the succulent chicken complemented the plain rice well.
The food,service and hygiene are amazing. The prices are affordable and worth the money. The ingredients feel fresh. Would definitely recommend it to others and will be here soon to try other dishes on the menu.

I love their soups, the chicken and the meat soup varieties are hearty and satiating. They have a buffet too on certain times of the day. Recommended for an authentic Indonesian culinary experience.
My bar mates and I were celebrating one of our fellow’s birthday in Dapoer Kita. The time when I called to reserve a place, the manager was very polite and helpful. They even very flexible to communicate with, I asked to keep in contact through Whatsapp and they were okay with it.
We were a mix of Indonesians, Filipino, Arabic and Pakistani - honestly speaking, the satay and Martabak Telur were the star for our Non-Indonesian friends. I was happy to see that they could enjoy our country’s food!
We even got a chance to sit down with the owner, he accompanied us through out the dinner and were very helpful. It reminds me with a typical Indonesian restaurant kinda vibes back home and for awhile, I kinda forgot that I’m in Dubai :)

When I first came to Dubai, I was told that Betawi and Seleraku were the places to go to for Indonesian cuisine. Whenever I visited Lulu, I passed Dapoer Kita and did not think much about going in. Today was different and I had time in hand to explore. So here I am in Dapoer Kita, having just had the best Nasi Uduk in Dubai and a refreshing Sirap Bandung, regretting having listened to others and wish I had been more adventurous and give this place a try much much earlier. Definitely will return with my family (they were away of course).

This time me and husband tried Nasi Goreng Ayam/Chicken fried rice and Sate Kambing/Lamb Grilled with peanut sauce. Don't forget to try their buffet menu too, tasty and good price.
The place is small and cozy, very simple interiors with a couple of wooden chairs and tables. They have an extensive menu. We tried the gorengan, Nasi uduk and Mie ayam baso. The food looked good and tasted even better.And the lady who served us was super nice and humble, was very happy to help us.
I wish there were more places like Dapoer Kita serving afordable Indonesian cuisine.

There are quite a few Indonesian restaurants that have come up in the area and I was really keen to try Dapoer Kita myself. We ended up going pretty late in the evening but the staff was very accommodating and helpful, they recommended we go for the buffet so I chose a variation of dishes to try, though we didn't have much choice left.
I ended up picking the Beef Rendang and goodness it was one of the best I ever tasted. Really really delicious! The rendang had a very intense flavor due to its slow cooking process with meat falling off the bone.
This one really stood out for me and I can't recommend enough!

When I was first introduced to Indonesian cuisine years ago (6 or 7 years), it was in this restaurant that i first ever tasted. My sister who introduced and told me that Indonesian food has a similar food to our tausug food (food from Jolo, Philippines) which was spicy and our "taste". And yes it did reached to my expectation plus it made me day dream about childhood memories when my family was still in Jolo. So it was a good experience. However every time I visited this restaurant, my expectation with them become less and less. serving became less and expensive when they change their menu around 2 or 3 years back. I hope they can bring back the Indonesian glory days were customer can say that they have an amazing experience with Indonesian food!
I like "soto ayam" very much in this restaurant. I could feel the authenticity of the soto's taste that make me wanted to come back again. Gorengan was also tasty. A side of the soto surely I also like buffet menu. Gulai kikil, aneka pepes as well as urab. I would recommended this restaurant to visit!!

Having lived in Malaysia for a few years, I loved the food there and the closest we could find to neighboring Indonesia here in Dubai is Dapoer Kita in Karama!
The interior isn't fancy but this isn't the intention honestly, its the food. The staff are friendly and available to assist.
Its a buffet setup and charged by the portions of different dishes you serve on your plate, pretty similar to Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. There is also items on the a la carte menu.
The Beef Rendang is superb! Chicken curry, chilli tofu, fried potato, chilli potato with liver, rice and an ice tea and your set!
Approx AED 35-50 per person.
Its worth the 30-40 minute drive from my place.

The experience at Dapoer Kita Restaurant was amazing and a good introduction to Indonesian cuisine who have never had the opportunity of doing so.
We went with the chef recommendations and the Nasi Goreng Ayam was delicious followed by Bebek Goreng, Nasi Ayam Bakar, Sate Ayam and Mie Ayam Baso.
All washed down with a jug of Iced Tea.

As Indonesian, the food in this restaurant bring back a great memory of my taste bud. It reminds me of home, you can either get an ala carte order or take whatever you like from the counter and paid for what you took in the end. The Indonesian 'siomay' is the best i had in Dubai, my girlfriend also loves her 'nasi uduk' which is actually proper 'nasi uduk' same as the one that i always had in my country. The service has smile all around the face of every staff that we encounter. Will come back for sure!
One of my favorite places in Dubai for Indonesian food. A small place set in a nice surrounding with decent seating space serving great Indonesian food. My favorite is the Nasi Goreng. It's got a lovely different menu and extremely authentic. As a person who has traveled the world and has been many times to Indonesia for the last 25 years, I found it the best Indonesian Restaurant in town. Very cozy ambiance with very friendly staff. I will decently keep going back there because it's just so great.

The price worth for the taste, parking on week end was one of disadvantage though but as a group its not an issue. Overall as coordinator of a group our team was very happy with the food, I recommended to contact in advance to have menu to your favorites group with a flexibility of ordering at reduced package rates.

Lovely lunch today. Ordered the Gado-Gado, Rendang and was pleased by the quality of the Beef Rendang , as well as the nicely Fried Chicken Sumatra’s Style and crisp hot green chillies which accompanied it. 3 times I've been here and they never failed to make me satisfied with their foods.. Here some foods I've ordered here:
1. Beef rendang~> extremely recommended. The beef is so tender and melted in your mouth. Beware for those doesn't like spicy. 🔥
2. Terong balado/ spicy eggplant~> made me feels home. Tasty!
3. Bakso/ meatball soup~> the soup is light and the bakso itself is meaty. It's freshing up your mood.
4. Martabak telor~> the portion is big and good for share with friends. Made of egg, spring onion and some minced beef inside covered by crisp skin. Delicious!
5. Batagor~> it is combination of peanut sauce, dark soy sauce, tofu, and chewy savory dough with some fresh minced cucumber on top. I love it.
6. Gorengan~> there are 2 kinds of gorengan that we ordered that time, tempe and veg tofu. You must order this as snack while waiting for the main course served.
7. Es teler~> jelly, condense milk, red syrup and i forgot what else inside. But this is good for summer.
Tips: try any foods that they serve in front of cashier. Worth for authentic indonesian taste.
Love the food. Chicken satay is awesome, have not found a more awesome satay in Dubai. The chicken is so juicy and packed with flavor. The sup buntut balado set (spicy oxtail soup that comes with white rice) is delicious. I always order these two when I go. Oh, and I like to add a terung balado (spicy eggplant) from the buffet. Fav drink is Es Teler, and if they don't have the coconut or the avocado to complete the drink, I order an Es Cendol. Have tried their nasi uduk which is great as well. Love the food here, yums!
Living in Indonesia for quite sometime, learning about this indonesian resto makes me excited to go and try it out because one of the best the dishes that I have tried in my entirety is the Indonesian cuisine.
They have buffet but we prefer to order ala carte. As expected, the play and variety of flavors burst in every bite. However, the baso malamang didn't taste as how I remember it. We were just a bit disappointed with meat of oxtail (buntut balado) and the tongseng kambing as it was a bit tough to our preference.
There staff are accomodating as well and can give suggestions when ask.
Having lived in Asia Pacific region for most part of my life, I always did crave for food of that region. Indonesian cuisine is quite unique and that unique taste is available in this joint. The buffet offered is quite good. However, try the different cuisines outside the buffet like Soto Ayam (Chicken Curry with veggies and noodles), or Kambing Tonseng (Lamb Curry). These are the real good picks in the Menu. So, if you want to try flavors of Asia Pacific particularly Indonesian, you got to try this joint. Price is a bit on the higher side though.
I have only been accustomed to Betawi which I really like for Indonesian food however a friend from Indonesia put it in his story and called it home away from home..had to try it! Loved it..flavor was excellent and definitely a gem in Karama..I recommend the Nasi Uduk with a piece of beef randang on the side and yellow curry(free) for rice. 💥 (which was recommended to me)

I've heard a lot about this restaurant from my fellow Malay friends and colleagues. So my friend and I decided to head there for dinner tonight after work to see what it was all about.
It felt like home when I first entered the restaurant and the employees were very welcoming and they immediately recognized that I was a Malay even though not many people can guess it right. My friend and I had a couple of orders since we were really hungry.
Murtabak Telur - The flavour is good though was a bit disappointing as it's not the typical Malay Murtabak - which consists of more layered glutinous dough and less egg but the one I had tonight was the opposite. Or maybe it's the Indonesian style compared to Malaysian? Nevertheless, it was still good.
Kway Teow Goreng Campur - Flavours were good, it was perfect. Though the downside were the onion crackers that came along with it as it tasted like it was old and soggy. Wasn't crunchy, more like old crackers that was stored too long.
Nasi Timbel - Chicken was char-grilled to perfection though the dish itself could do more justice by adding more side dishes or maybe a small bowl of soup to compliment it as it was a dry dish.
Es Cendol - One of my favourite Malay drinks in general but the one here had too much of palm sugar and coconut, which made it very sweet. Would have been better if it were the traditional shaved ice instead of ice cubes. The grass jelly itself were too big in size.
Service - Friendly, very fast, interactive and portion of food was humongous which made sense with the pricing that they put up for each dishes.
Would still come here again for a round 2 and would recommend to my friends to dine in here.

Nasi Goreng - chicken fried rice that comes with prawn crackers, diced cucumber and carrot salad, fried egg and two skewers of chicken satay.
Nice flavours, we asked for spicy and it was just right. Satays complimented the rice really well...every morsel was delish. It was soft.
Prawn crackers were stale and not crisp.
All of the above came in one plate and I feel that portion isnt good enough for a single person.
Mi Goreng - Noodles - Asked for beef, they didnt have that in their menu though. It came with prawn crackers and diced salad.
There were around 3 small beef pieces in th entire dish!
Rest was some skin with fat on it...no meat at all.
Guess this is th reason they didnt have it on their menu...they only had chicken and prawn.
But waiter could have informed me about this earlier.
Asked for spicy and got it just right....it was spicy and had a sweet hint to it.
Overall good food.
All of it came on one plate and I feel the quantity isnt good enough for a single person. Accept if you are a very small eater.
Parking is a tackle around this area in Karama.

I love their Gado gado. Tried their nasi goreng kambing but didn't like it much. The rice taste just normal. Didn't feel the indo flavor.this place always kind of empty.

I am a huge fans of tahu isi ( fried tofu stuffed with sautee vegetable). It is very popular snack in my hometown that normally sold in street stall vendor. And i can say it they have very nice one. Crispy outside but still juicy inside. Unfortunately it always finish very fast especially when you came after lunch time. I love their soto betawi, it coconut milk soup based with beef and some vegetable. Their padang style buffet also superb. Try their rendang if you can handle spicy food.
I wish there is home delivery from this place, the food is good, I like their Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng the portion is ok, Nasi Uduk and the sambal is very tasty the only disappointment is the chicken is not marinated enough so it tastes bland.

Ever heard of the saying: Never judge a book by it's cover? The same can be said about this gem of a restaraunt.
Don't go there expecting Ambeince, excellent service et all. Go there for traditional homecooked style Indonesian food. This restaurant is as authentic as it can get.
Since I have Indonesian roots, I never miss an opportunity to try out classics and homegrown favourites such as kangkong, Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, Deng Deng Balado, Shrimp Balado, Martabak and so on.
Their portion sizes are average depending upon how much you can consume. It is definitely crowded most of the times and service is quite slow. but I'm ready to forgive it all just for the taste of the food.
The ingredients used are fresh, non fussy, an absolute delight and more than that a perfect tribute to the home cooked dishes of Indonesia. There is a reason why they have a massive fan following amongst Indonesians and non-Indonesians alike.
Many Indonesian based restaurants have come and gone but Dapoer Kita is standing the test of time. I've heard that they have very recently refurbished the place. I would still prefer doing a takeaway and sitting in the confines of my home, munching on Martabak and Nasi Goreng.
Absolutely Try: Kang-Kong, Nasi Goreng, Martabak
A treat for any food lover and if you like it super spicy, ask them to kick it up a notch.

Dapoer Kita (means Our Kitchen) serves "home-cooked food taste" and even if we live far from Karama, we always plan a visit to this Indonesian joint. My personal favorite is their emping, sop buntut, pempek, nasi goreng seafood, martabak manis and jus jeruk. Don't expect too much with ambience and definitely they can do a whole lot of improvement with their restroom that's unisex 😣 but their food is always appetizing and reasonable so I focus more on the food taste and quality.
If you're craving for an authentic Indonesian taste, this place is a good choice! 😊
Authentic Nasi Goreng i have ever tasted so far. The ambience of the restaurant gives you to feel of Indonesian culture. Staff are very friendly. Definitely a place visit if you love Indonesian food.
Good place to have eat quick lunch or dinner. Over counter food selection is always fresh and tasty. Try beef rendang and fried chicken with spices. Price is reasonably affordable.

Best Indonesian restaurant in UAE! The food and drinks are superb! You must try their ketoprak, tongseng, with es cendol. Super!
Ketopak is a heavy carbohydrates supply. It was a mix of rice cake, rice noodles, tofu, with sweet peanut sauce. So if you are on diet, please select your date wisely. 😉
Tongseng is a Indonesian traditional spicy soup. If you love spicy, you must try this.. It consists of lamb meat, cabbage, and chilly. No matter sunny or winter, there is always place for tongseng in my belly! 😁
Unfortunately, their place was not so fancy. So, please don't judge their food by their location and decoration.
Authentic Indonesian food. Taste is good n pricing is low. It is self service pretty much n I didn't find much hospitality from the staff. Very few tables and the feeling of cramped space is definitely there. Due to its location, parking can definitely be a problem.
Authentic Indonesian setting and very popular with the Indonesian expats. Location may not be very easy to locate but definitely a hidden gem. The murtabak and nasi goreng are highlights of the place. The soto ayam was good too. Recommended for authentic Indo food catered for the SE Asian crowd.
