Shogun is my go to choice for good Korean BBQ— the beef is well marinated and the service is wonderful! It is not the fanciest Korean BBQ in Dubai but the galbi and the samjang sauce (without a little dip of salt) is to die for!
I have sat here for hours with friends families multiple times over the past 2 years grilling our own galbi and have had a wonderful experience every single time.
Overall review:
Food: 3.5/5 - I only like their galbi and haemul pajeon - was not a fan of the other dishes I tried like the Fried gyozas, bibimbap, California roll. I have noticed though that the side dishes or banchan are tastier and fresh on the weekdays but the opposite on weekends.
Service: 5/5- extremely quick, very polite and friendly servers
Value for money: 4/5 - some may find it expensive however Korean bbq cannot be cheap when you take into consideration the cuts of meat and the experience of the entire BBQ. They also offer a 25% discount even if you are not a zomato gold owner.

Visited Shogun for a surprise birthday lunch on a Saturday. The place is literally a hidden gem on the first floor of one of the towers. We even had to ask around to get there. The easiest way to find the restaurant is this- DO NOT ENTER THE MALL. There is a small tower entrance next to McDonald's. You'll see a board that says Shogun there. Walk through the entrance and go to the 2nd floor. You'll find Shogun there.
We entered the restaurant around 1.30pm. The interiors are very minimalistic with a few influences from the far east. They have a lower seating area as well but the Korean bbq is only available in the regular seating area. We already had a table reserved so thankfully we didn't have to wait for a table.
The service is simply amazing! The staff is very courteous and very helpful when it comes to picking out the dishes. They have a massive menu which includes thai curries, Korean bbqs, Japanese sushi, etc. It's simply impossible to try out everything that the restaurant has to offer in just a couple of visits. Since we were celebrating a birthday it took us a while to finish all the food and then cut the cake. Even though it was past closing time the staff was really nice and helped us with everything we needed.
For food we got a portion of the Korean bbq that is enough for 2 people. The marinated meat was absolutely delicious! It was very tender and succulent. The meat comes with 2 portions of rice, salad and some nibbles. Since we were a group of 5 people we even got some thai curries to go along with it so that we could taste a bit of everything and even they turned out to be so delicious!
We'll definitely be going back for more of their delicious food!

had a booking a week before.
i asked for a private area and they said they have.
when we arrived there no one greeted us and when we asked for our table they were confused where to put us.
we asked for the table that we can sit on the floor but they said the grill is not working.
we sat in a table where the only divider from other table will be this wooden cover.
the food was good. price is a little bit expensive if you compare it to another korean place that we went too. maybe they need a menu for group, a set menu.
we were missing a lot of things on the table but good thing the night ended and wenwere satisfied and happy.

This is by far the best place for Korean food in Dubai. Loved it so much that I visited this place twice in 10 days.
The chicken BBQ was marinated well and I loved the feeling of grilling it. The kimchi rice was not as spicy as anticipated but tastes yum with the seaweed soup.
The beef bibimbap was amazing with all the condiments and seaweed soup.
Loved the hospitality of the assistants and their warmth and love for their culture and food.

Annyeong! Korean food lovers 🇰🇷 Finally, Got a chance to try a Korean Restaurant in Dubai. I normally go to Asian Restaurants but this time, Omg! Totally different. Swear! I missed this!
Shogun Restaurant is not only comes with Korean food, they also have Japanese and Thai Food. This restaurant never failed to surprise my taste buds. I literally enjoyed their food especially the Bulgogi Jeongsik and KimChi (homemade). Can't resist. 🥢 I can't even stop eating these yummies. To be honest, it's a bit pricey but you can't complaint because the food is totally heavenly.
The place is hard to find but when you go inside, it looks old and the ambiance looks like you're in an ancient Korean restaurant. Food was great and fast, their staff were so friendly and easy to approach. I am really satisfied. Visit 'em and enjoy their delicious Korean food and other Asian meals.

Shogun!! Is like, Show me, how much your gut can take in. Shogun is the first Asian restaurant ive visited here in Dubai (last 2017) and i must say that it is one of restaurant you must try. They have a lot of menu’s to choose from Thai, Japanese and korean dishes. The ambiance was really great and it felt like dining at an old asian ramen houses in japan. The taste and flavors of the food?? Mmuuhhmm its irresistible!! Specially if you order for Bulgogi Jeongsik ( Thin slices of beef marinated in a soy sauce and usually grilled at the table.) put it on top of a freshly chop lettuce leaves topped by spicy thai sauce, onion strings and Kimchi! its really mouth watering experienced. One of the Asian restaurant here in Dubai that can offer the real taste of the japanese and korean cuisines. Plus the server and staff are very accomodating, me and my friend are very vocal and loud ( in a friendly and experimenting way 😅) that you will have the so called patience to serve us! I only give 4 Star - For the Restaurant needs to updrade in some areas, Like the plates, cups and utensil cause some are looking worn out or old from many years of using it. the Menu Book! Looks deteriorating, remember, its the first presentation you can give to your customer for the choice of theyre dining experience. But the overall experienced was REALLY GOOD!! And will highly recommend it to all my friend

My family went here many times for dinner. The service was always organised. Staff are nice and accommodating. I love to eat the Korean BBQ that we usually cook in the grill. It was good experience.
Whenever we crave for korean food, this is the perfect place to go to. The food is legit korean and we are in the dessert of dubai. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the perfect taste but in here you will never regret. The staff is also approachable and good.
I think the everyday cue speaks of how good the food here is. I love that you can enjoy korean and japanese food in one restaurant. Well must try are their topoki, galbi for grill and their black korean pasta.
Tried this place about 4 or 5 times and still enjoy it! Price is steep if you're not dining in group (especially if you choose those platters which are mostly good for two or three persons). The place gives off the authentic vibes and the staffs are welcoming. We enjoy desserts always offered which could be between ice cream or fruits. Will defo keep coming back!
Amazing Korean BBQ flavour and large portions! Definitely a secret spot to look for and come back with friends/colleagues. Be warned that weekends and special occasions will be fully booked and long wait times.

This is our first korean restaurant experience. So we dont have any idea which is the best dishes in menu. Thats why we're very thankful to Marian because she recommend to us the Bulgogi Jeongsik (Korean marinated beef) and Budae Jjigae (Korean Ramen). We really enjoyed the food. Very authentic. Great place to invite family and friends for dinner. The variety of dishes are crazy i didn't know what to get! I loved sitting in front of the Japanese chef as he prepares our sushi! Super fresh sashimi it was like they took it straight from the water to our table! Thai, Japanese and Korean food under one roof. Just amazing and the bbq experience is a must try. Their bulgogi is delish!

I and my friends loveeeeeee Shogun for their Korean dishes since haven't yet tried the Japanese or the Thai food.
I have always wanted to place a review but today the time has come 😀 Usually we go with the Bibimbap - the yummy side dishes a bountiful bonus , the Galbi, Kimchijigae which makes you feel alive and ready for another day. The complimentary red bean ice cream is a great end to the meal. Recently we tried Jjampong but it's a bit of an acquired taste for me.
The prices might seem a bit higher than other Korean restaurants in Dubai but the portions are always bigger and worthwhile😋😋😋
Craving for Korean food around Deira? This is the best place to be! Their traditional Korean BBQ is very good! Just remember to visit early as Korean food lovers starts queuing up as soon as it opens!

Love the authenticity of the food and the ambiance of the place is very relaxing.. the barbecue set is awesome.. as well as the glass noodles.. the only negative comment i have is that when we press the buzzer to call the attention of the waiter, they are not responding immediately.. we cant blame though.. the resto is quite busy.. they should hire more staff.. but above all.. the experience was amazing!

I need more stars to review this place am dining here more than 10 years , taste & quality’s still the same , I always order there kimbap they are the best , we can do the bbq as they have bbq station on all tables . Starters are the best here which they serve different everyday.
I love the food there. Korean BBQ are very nice. Thai food in this place is surprisingly fantastic!! Ordered q lot of courses and everything is delicious so far. Staff are nice.a lot of Thai staff so they even understand your taste. I absolutely love it. The only downside is they closed at 3 to 6 pm.

A distinctive Asian barbecue experience like no other. Going there with a couple of friends guarantees you with fun and great food. We had a good time cooking our food on the table. The glass noodles were very flavorful and soaked adequately in the sauce. The BBQs and the kimchi were also flawlessly delicious.

Very nice place to gather with friends. Korean, Japanese and Thai food in once place. It’s very conveniently situated near metro and mall. I advise everyone to go there few minutes before they open so you can choose a place to sit and to avoid waiting before you can dine.

Absolutely love this place. It's a very important place to me as it's our family's special celebration restaurant. It's located at Al Ghurair Centre. You need to come out of the main building and it's in one of the corners.
They have authentic Korean, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese foods. I'm so amazed how the quality is perfect in each cuisine. I love Japanese food and my husband loves Thai so we get to enjoy each other's company in one place while eating our own favorite foods. I am especially in love with the complimentary side dishes they give. There are so many! And with sushi you get a complimentary delicious salad.
The hot pot is great! And so is the Korean BBQ. Sashimis and sushi are excellent. The quantity is quite large. I normally order the set meals. Just a heads up - the 12 piece sushi set is enough for 2 people to share.
Will always be back. Decor is very quirky but I like it.
Delicious authentic Korean food..we tried the bibimbap and bulgogi jeongsik with lots of side dishes. I love the kimchi and free vanilla ice cream with red beans.
Okay so this place combines my two favourite loves. BBQing and Asian food. Now it gives me the chance to cook my own food. I highly recommend this for groups, looking to bond over food even though I myself went with my partner I felt it was better suited to groups. They have seating areas on the floor that give it that proper Japanese feel to it but I sat on a normal chair and table as I knew I would be eating a lot haha. If I’m being totally honest, people who have been to both the Shogun in Ghurair and the one in Media City can testify that the Ghurair one is way better, decor looks a lot better and gives me a very authentic experience. Only fault is that they don’t have WiFi, which I feel would be great in terms of publicity and marketing. But definitely deserves a 5/5.
Had my second visit here and It’s a must try restaurant. I had a seafood dish and I will give a five star for that. Would love to come back with my family. All the ladies staff... hearts off. 👍Good job !!

My review for Shogun – a decent restaurant where I was able to enjoy Thai, Korean, and Japanese cuisine all in one sitting.
I did not try any of the best selling hot pots and barbecue dishes as I am not a huge fan of it, so I ordered dishes off the menu that were cooked by the kitchen.
This restaurant needs to offer their dessert options again because I was looking forward to it as I saw a page of desserts but the restaurant only offers ice cream and fruits.
Anyways, moving onto the food review.
The seafood japchae, also known as glass noodles, was delicious. Glass noodles are my favourite Korean dish to order. The glass noodles were soft and the sauce was even throughout the whole dish. The seafood that was added to the dish was a mixture of squid and shrimp, which were cooked perfectly.
The regular sashimi did not come until the end of my dinner as the server completely forgot about it. I kept reminding her, but never received it until I was almost full. The sashimi was fresh but the toro was sliced too thick which made it hard to chew and eat.
The shrimp pha naeng, or known as red curry, was flavourful. The curry was too thick for my liking though as I’m used to curries from other Thai restaurants that are light.
Finally, the shrimp pad Thai was perfect. The sauce was rich and was delicious. This is my favourite dish at any Thai restaurant, so I was glad that the one served here did not disappoint me. There was a lot of shrimp which was a bonus.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the seafood japchae for 60DHS, regular sashimi for 85DHS, shrimp pha naeng curry for 55DHS, and the shrimp pad Thai for 50DHS.
The pricing of the dishes here were usual for this type of Asian cuisine.
The service that I received here was excellent where our server was very attentive, but I wished she had written our order down as she forgot many dishes and had to remind her many times.
The ambience of this restaurant was what you would expect for a place that serves Japanese and Korean cuisine. There were some private rooms that can seat 10 people. The tables had a stove to barbecue and cook hot pot.
This specific Shogun branch is almost hidden inside Al Ghurair, you have to take a different entrance to get their.
We went on a Thursday night, so needless to say how busy it was. The staffs informed us we’d have to wait for a table and there’s a token system. We didn’t take a token and instead took a seat near the sushi counter which doesnt require a token. Within 5 minutes one staff came and informed us that there’s free table which we take, I really liked this extra care...
Food - It was sooo delicious, especially the bbq and the kimchi. We tried the bento box, rib eye steak and gyoza. All of the foods we ordered were fantastic.
Ambiance - they have a nice sit down place, which is famous amongst Japanese and Koreans. But the place looks bit messy, it could be due to the fact that it was busy.
Prices - Shogun is a famous brand name so the price includes this premium. We spent AED 200 which was more than enough for 2 adults.
We tried their Saewu bulgogi which marinated shrimps bbq. Absolutely amazing. This place serves korean and japanese cuisine. Pricing is definitely steep. The service is efficient and friendly.

What do you do when you want Korean food in Dubai You go to Shogun. The staff was wonderful. We got there about 15 minutes before closing and they were very accommodating. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
So here we goes, a couple of weeks I am craving for tepanyaki a grill beef cooking in a fried pan over the table, so we ended here in this resto. At first the place is not really seen outside you need to enter to the building and their location is on the 3rd floor. Upon we enter the ambiance was so nice they have cubicle provided for each cubicle they have table and chairs with hot pan at the center. We are so excited to order the tepanyaki grill korean beef and I must say their presentation is nice and the serving for one order enough for 2-3persons. We just added the japchae noodles to taste and the dish is enough for 2-3person. So total of our orders good for 4person and we only spent 160aed for this superb korean tepanyaki experience. And lastly they give us a complimentary scoop of vanilla Korean icecream the taste creamy as good. If you are looking for korean food trip, you must try this place, I really enjoyed the food and the service too.
Another must try asian restaurant in Deira. they offered authentic Korean, Chinese and Thailand food... and crews are friendly too. What I enjoyed the most is the complimentary vanilla ice cream after we finished our meal. Definitely going back...
I recently returned from Seoul, Korea and I had a craving for Korean BBQ and soup. Thankfully Shogun is conveniently located in the same building as Al Ghuhair Mall, which is just a stone's throw away from the metro. I love how it tastes so close to authentic - it felt like autumn holiday all over again. The free dessert is a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Everyone must try Korean BBQ at least once in their life. It's an experience like no other. Shogun has a Asian ambience for the interiors, even the tables are separated into rooms. It gets pretty crowded for dinners, so I would recommend reserving in advance. The service was good, wouldn't really say more since most of the work is done by ourselves. The portion size for each item is alright, but if you have an appetite you'll definitely need to order more than one dish.
We ordered the Galbi Jeongsik (Beef Short Ribs), Bulgogi Gui (Beef Sirloin) and Chicken for the BBQ. The meat came pre marinated with a soup and rice with some side dishes. They provide a large onion to rub on the grill and lettuce to wrap the meat in. The cooking process is a fun experience with everyone but does take some time, so be prepared to wait for it. We also ordered a Bokumbab (Fried Rice) which tasted great as well.
Overall, it's an experience you have to try if haven't already, the food tastes great and it's a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend this place.

Shogun is a bit a hidden gem that is tucked away in the 2nd floor of a building in the Al Rigga area. Unless you know to look for it, you may not find this incredible restaurant. The restaurant itself serves 3 cuisines – Japanese, Thai and Korean, so this is definitely the place to come to if you are a fan of Asian cuisine.
Authentic Korean food ... the chicken and squid bbq was fantastic... the accompaniments - check... the service - check , the speed of service - check... cleanliness - check.... the bibimbap- brilliant ..... love this place ... it’s an experience .
FOOD - They have one of the best korean food in Dubai. Bibimbap is superb!
SERVICE - Accommodating and we got free dessert.
PLACE - A lot of people are dining here so it is a little bit crowded. Accessible from the Union Metro Station.

Food - a real explosion of flavors from japanese to thai to korean cuisine. Beef bulgogi is a must try. Tempure is OK-OK nothing really special but the 🍜 is a winner!
Ambience - made me feel like I was in an actual Asian house. It was just a bit noisy maybe because it was the night before the weekend
Service - I focused mainly on two things, the staff's attitude and the time they put food on our table. I give 5/5 for all the friendly staff that despite that they have so many customers, all were very accommodating. What I didn't like is they were not able to get our orders immediately even though we pressed the call button more than 5 times! We waited for our turn for 20 minutes (we didn't book over the phone as the receptionist told us its no longer allowed), then waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to come and get our orders. Then there was another 10 minutes wait time for our food to be served.
Suggestion: please hire more staff to improve your customer's experience.

Surely a hidden gem. The location is old school which is both good and bad. Good because not many venture out there. Bad because the area is too busy.
Food is authentic, a lot of Koreans and South Asians eat there often and it has always been enjoyable.

On my quest to find a good jajjanmyeon. Tried the one at Shogun which was ok, I wouldn't reorder it. What I keep coming back for is the bulgogi, I cook it on the grill until the meat is caramelized and has a good char. Tastes best in a ssam (lettuce wrap) with onions and roasted garlic. The ever changing banchan (side dishes) are normally good, their kimchi is excellent. The japchae tastes great, definitely something to share as the portion is huge. For me the kimchi jeon pancake tastes delicious but gets boring after a while but my sister loves it. Overall service is quick and they do tailor the dishes to be made egg-free, vegetarian, etc. Complimentary dessert (fresh fruit or ice cream) is offered at every visit.

The first time I went to shogun was over 10 years ago they had this big album with photos , I thought it was going to be terrible . But everything was great, the food the marbalized korean beef , the fish , the kimchi all was great.. ever since I keep going there .. truly a hidden gem.
Korean food hunting took us towards Ghurair Centre.
Shogun is a hidden gem. Live food cooking on your table, fresh meets, delicious company and sauces males for a fun meal . Service maybe be slow but otherwise is a restaurant with old school charm.
Checked online some of the highest rating Korean Restaurant and found this restaurant. Eager to see if this is as good as MannaLand 😊.
Ended up ordering my fave sashimi since aside from Korean cuisine they also offer Japanese and Thai cuisines as well.

My favorite is the bbq, its very tasty. You can ask for a refill in side dishes. After eating, you will have a free korean ice cream 😊
The only thing I did not expect is the shabu shabu, we thought its the normal shabu shabu that you are going to cook by yourself but its just a bowl of shabu shabu.

Superb!!! Its a nice place to dine. staffs are very polite, amazing food selections, awesome ambiance and reasonable price. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience.. You should definitely give this restaurant a try...
We had the beef strips and ribs.👍🏼👍🏼 definitely would recommend the ribs, i love those spicy cucumbers as a side dish but its too spicy, i like the ambiance and the staff are great. They just gave us a small kimchi which is sad.😞 but! Definitely coming back.👍🏼
Its not easy to find, because there's no big signage on the street. But you can ask some securities who's roaming around. Any ways, I ordered Bulgogi Jeongsik, I can say that food is.. okay. But not so excellent. They have 6-7 different banchan. When you finish eating, they will offer ice cream or cut fuits which is complimentary. I choose ice cream. 😊😊😊 Ambience, okay. Staffs, just fine.
I love this place, It's like walking into Korea Town, you can't call & reserve of course because the place is crammed, get there and sit wait like a champ! It's a 10 minutes worth it wait.The food is good, the meat is sweet which hmm not my thing, liked the chicken more, the small items that accompany your order complimentarily are delicious, you get free sides, free vegetables, free sticky rice, free soup and oh my god the soupppp! We were fighting over it.
Ask for the vegetable plate, it's not on the menu but it's the best, includes mushrooms ;) It's such a lovely experience to cook with your friends, family or that special someone.
It's been a year, this is my 2nd time to visit shogun at al rigga dubai, a very hidden gem indeed, my husband and I are lost.. we've been searched for few minutes before we reached the restaurant ;) but food was extremely good, authentic food and a friendly staff, will visit very soon again.

One of the best asian fusion restaurant. perfect for taste buds who are craving for korean, japanese and thai food at the same time. it is so amazing having to chew the bulgogi while having a sip of your favorite tomyum soup in one meal.. isn't that great!?
Me and my friend have been craving for authentic Korean food and that's why we decided to give this place a try. As many people mentioned here, it's challenging to find (especially when you also try to find parking around😄), but it's worth it. We were thing we're hungry ordering one Korean ramen and Jjampong, but man, we couldn't finish it! The portions are really generous and taste is amazing. They also provided a set of appetizers (this is a must in Korean restaurants).
The menu is divided on Korean, Japanese and Thai cuisine. The staff is super friendly and attentive.
We're really looking forward to come back to try more
One of my favorite restaurant for my asian food fix! They have a wide span of menu choices from Korean, Japanese and Thai. Perfect portion for sharing. Be sure to order varieties to share because every plate's too good to have to yourself! This is the restaurant I have been over and over.
If you are the type person that want to try authentic korean dishes i think this is one of the best place you should visit! Personally, i love korean foods! That's why i was very excited to try this place. Well, this place is kinda challenging to find coz its kinda hidden. Haha so my advice is search the location first before going there and expect 20 to 40 mins of waiting time co'z its always full packed. Waiting area is not that big with limited chairs only so you might stay and wait outside. On the other hand, their FOOD is worth the wait! The taste of authentic korean food is amazing! The place is good it feels like your in asia. perfect for group of people. And for the price its not that expensive for the quality of food that they are serving. And also they are giving free desserts after and its called monggo ice cream! Yuummyness overload!
Combination of Korean, Japanese and Thai can be enjoyed here. I enjoyed Japanese "Teishoku" menu with Yaki Sakana. The taste was superbly good and the high price of 60 AED is compensated by entailing Korean side dishes.
This is a great place to experience korean food with family and friends! Came in just in time to have dinner. We were so filled and the value is affordable! They even gave us complimentary fruits!
Known for their authentic Korean food, they pretty much live up to their mark. Not very conveniently located but that doesn't stop them having a waitlist of people during dinner hours.
Their maki rolls and set dinners are the way to go. The set course is where the meat is served raw and for us to BBQ on their grill. Pretty interactive experience. The meats were served fresh and of good quality. However the spicy levels were too high. I suggest for people who do not enjoy spicy food, do ask them to have no spice! Ordered a bunch of stuff, Californian maki rolls, beef dumplings, veg and nonveg bibimpap, glass noodles with sides of miso soup and vegetables. Overall a fun experience, friendly accommodating staff and not very expensive too.
Amazing experience and a great food. Always wantes to try authentic korean bbq and this place is a must try. A great experience overall and the restaurant has been in service for almoast 25 years. Great work. Must try is the beef bbq
