It looked like I was going up into a cellar after the main entrance and I found myself in a cosy and confortable place. Had a tour guide to the terrace that will open very soon for the stunning view during the sunset.
Started with a few drinks from the happy hour and the snack box with 6 types of snacks very originally presented. Delicious pickled tomatoes, foie gras, and truffle in it. Very affordable price for the content.

Would make a testament just to explain every single dish but it worth a try maybe more than once. Great food, great wine, great cocktails.
Amazing experience with food and pairing drinks for each course. And very good descriptions by the sommelier towards food in harmony with the wine. If I didn't understood muck about wine she elevate my knowledge a little bit. Simple flavours that were very well combined and the presentation 5***** (or even more). Service was very good. Very natural and focused on the true value of the concept of this place. Will come back definitely and truly recommend for those who look for more than just eat.
Amazing meal, the best we have had in Dubai. Our second visit, loved the new dishes (snail “doughnuts” and the gingerbread dessert being the highlights) and our previous favourites of the lamb saddle, guineafowl and rhubarb and custard (which I think is the best tasting dish I’ve had) were top notch again. Service is superb, recommend everyone go and support a home grown concept.
It was the best restaurant surprise I have had in a long time! The food was amazing and just the right portions - the crispy egg and the lamb are to die for - everyone should try them! The staff were very friendly, food very reasonably priced and the view is spectacular - we got a tour of the restaurant as well - try the view from the romantic dinner table - it’s simply spectacular!! We shall definitely be heading there again!

A month ago today I had the most fantastic birthday meal at the newly opened Folly by Nick & Scott. I cannot express how utterly amazing the experience was. Arriving in time for sundowner cocktails on the rooftop terrace, the view absolutely spectacular across the gulf. Each cocktail was a revelation and expertly recommended by bar manager Raven, the Prosecco pop was an instant hit but the Preferito was simply sublime.
We were dining in the Windtower, a private table for two with arguably the best views of the Burj al Arab in the whole of Dubai. A glass of champagne whilst watching the sunset over the coast was the perfect way to start the meal. The team had created a bespoke 7 course menu for the occasion, which was such a lovely touch. The wonderful Viktorija worked her magic with fantastic wine pairings for every course, always choosing something unexpected but utterly perfect.
The food…where to start. The parmesan mousse with deliciously crispy pieces of veal tongue was a standout, the sweetbreads with cape puree and red wine glaze we were tempted to lick the plate. The sweet-cured tomatoes with the stracciatella cheese I want the recipe for and the monkfish cheeks with salted lemon I’d order again in a heartbeat. If I was forced to choose a favourite it would have to be the lamb saddle with whipped pine nuts - this simply tastes like heaven.
We didn’t think we’d have room for dessert but that’s the beauty of Nick & Scott’s menu, everything is so perfectly balanced and meticulously thought through that you leave having tried everything but without having overindulged. The desserts were beautifully balanced and not overly sweet - personal favourite was the popcorn tuille, it’s unbelievable how much flavour they’ve managed to infuse into it.
It would be a crime not to mention the fantastic staff, who are such a big part of folly. Attentive but not intrusive, very knowledgable about the menu and always with a smile on the faces. It was clear from talking to the team that there is a real family vibe, with staff at all levels included in decisions being made at the helm and you could really feel that the whole team believe in Nick, Scott & Viktorija and what they are building at folly.
If you are looking for not just an incredible meal but a thoroughly enjoyable and intriguing experience from start to finish, folly is the place to go. Book a table now, because trust me this place is going to be the next big thing.

Living in Dubai for over 19 years I can honestly say that I have finally found my favourite restaurant. Gorgeous establishment surrounded by plants & greenery. I wanted to order everything on the menu which is not to large or complicated just full of wonderful choices. Food is cooked to perfection I felt tempted to lick the plate! Service is kept professional and thankfully not overly intrusive which is rare in Dubai. Prices are not overboard and definitely value for money. I can't wait to return.
Great food at reasonable prices fed up with rip off joints with poor service and worse food. Get down here you will not be disappointed great British music too!!
We went for a pre-Christmas dinner after hearing great things about it. We certainly weren't disappointed - superb setting, outstanding food and on-the-ball service. For real foodies, I would recommend Folly to anyone, whether it's for a casual lunch or a special occasion dinner.
One of the best meals I have had, recommend the tasting menu and wine pairing. Such good value for money, I am not sure who our sommelier was as didn't get to say thank you. However she was incredible.
I had the immense pleasure of spending an evening with friends attending a wine pairing event organised by the Australian Business Council of Dubai. Sommelier Viktoria presented a stunning selection of dishes and drinks which complimented each other perfectly. Wonderfully warm service, really exceptional food - what a great introduction to this new Dubai restaurant! It is the place to go with good friends who love fabulous food, a unique wine list and great service!
Fabulous. Such a pleasure to go to a restaurant where you can engage with the staff who clearly adore their jobs! Despite a little hiccough with the reservation and the selected table, the quality of the food, the service by Victorija and Anna (amazing sommelier) soon made me forget about that. An absolute gem and a great replacement for Rivington Grill (that I never liked)! Oh, and did I mention the food...? And the good looking chefs!!?? Well done chaps!
Fab dinner with great cocktails. We had a large mix of food and tried some very different dishes. The monk fish and cuttlefish were amazing. The mushrooms and pidgeon were also very good.
We went for date night and I would highly recommend folly. The only thing that put me off a little was being told at least 4 times (on booking on confirmation call on arrival and at table) was that we had to be off our table by 9, once would of been enough for us but I am sure some people need reminding!
A fantastic lunch. The staff could not have gone to more trouble to make our anniversary lunch special. Food was gorgeous. One of the best views in Dubai. Amazing!

I celebrated my wife's birthday here a few days ago on the rooftop. Marina was an excellent host and we had a great time. The place had a killer sun set view, cozy and chilled ambiance, perfect place for my friends and I to chill. They also gave us some good deals on the drinks. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. The service was also excellent. They all took really good care of us.
The best kept secret in Dubai!! The staff make this place, gvanesh khatri and team go up and beyond food is amazing something for everyone, setting unreal and check out the rooftop bar for sunset, definitely we will be back
Contamporary food with a great view. We choosed our dishes from a la carte abs I enjoyed most of the food I ate there. The wine selection was also good. Try to reserve a place in the rooftop with the view of medinat jumeirah

Great place especially where you can chilled outside with beautiful view but most important for us was the food which was far beyond our expectations, lot’s of details, quality and attention for those meals preparation. good services and recommendations for the different wines suggested along the dinner. Was really great experience, congratulation Nick & Scott we will come back.
The place to go for a gourmet dinner on a beautiful terrace. Food was delicious, carefully prepared and nicely presented (veal belly and licorice pudding were amazing!). Ambience is elegant but modern, perfect for a dinner with your partner or a small group of friends. Waiters were attentive and happy to give suggestions, we just had to wait for too long between appetizers and mains. Price is in line with the high quality of the food. Overall, one of the best restaurants I tried in Dubai!
Finally got to understand the term "size doesn't matter " the food just teased my taste buds, I feel like going back and trying all the dishes. Our starters Devon crab and scallop with avocado..... Yum but more avo please, n the mains guinea fowl and sirloin steak..... I'd love to have a bed in your kitchen. Although i have no idea what to do with a hard crust bread 😕
Ohh lack of words to say. Amazing drinks and fascinating view both day or night, simply amazing the any time of the day. Their crew are so friendly as well and make sure you are well attended.

Visited this place a while ago with a couple of friends. They wanted some drinks and I wanted some nibbles. What I remember more than anything else is the breathtaking view we had from the rooftop seating area. The place was beautifully done up and a perfect setting for a date 👻. Anyway, my friends ordered the ginger sour and they really liked it. It was presented really well with this ginger infused ice cube (if I’m not wrong- I don’t really know how to describe it). As for our finger food , I order the Guinea fowl sausage rolls. Nothing to complain about, it was yummy but portions were on the smaller side and I was still hungry 🙈. I wanted to order more but we had reservations elsewhere. Will probably visit again for the rooftop view and their other stuff. It was an enjoyable experience and the view was simply magical. The service was also lovely - pleasant and friendly staff. ☺️
Folly by Nick & Scott is my Go to place when I don’t have any other ideas. I know that I will always get good service and good food. Obviously best time to come just before the sunset and have few sundowners upstairs and enjoy beautiful view. Service is very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Food is delicious, comes in small portions so don’t be afraid to order more starters if you are very hungry. My favorite part was Devon crab with dry sea weed. If you are a meat lover definitely go for guinea fowl you rarely see restaurants serving them. Lovely atmosphere and food.
If you a looking for a wonderful roof top dining experience during the cooler months with beautiful views then Folly is the place to go! Their Friday brunch is jam packed with what can only be described as a wonderfully well thought out culinary experience. Their food encourages you to push the boundaries and explore different taste combinations, of which you may not think of working together.. only to be pleasantly surprised. Once you have taken your taste buds on a pleasant tour of their exquisite dishes ...sundowners upstairs at the rooftop is definitely a must! With stunning views of the Burj Al Arab! The music and ambiance could be a little more lively yet keeping with the classy tone it sets...but otherwise I don't have a single complaint. Definitely an experience I won't forget anytime soon.
A hidden gem in Madinat Jumeirah @follydubai rooftop over looking a breathtaking view. I would recommend to book your table in advance to get the perfect spot.
I love Folly by Nick and Scott, I have been there several times and almost tried all the items in the menu, it's true that the portions are not big compared to Dubai standards but this is clearly stated by the waiter every time , so no surprises and on top if you take one starter and one main it's enough. the food is very tasty with a lot of flavors. The lamb and the monkish are my favorite dishes. I do recommend this restaurant for people with fine palate. I always invite friends when they visit.

Folly, in my opinion, might just be the best restaurant in Dubai. Why is this? It just ticks so many boxes so well while maintaining a sophisticated, easy going attitude.
The decor and interior are really three restaurants in one: the inside is modern, dark grey with hardwoods and green wall accents. It gives a greater sense of space than really exists but it still has small bistro sized tables. The outside terrace may have the best view in Dubai - it's not a skyline overlooking downtown, instead, you enjoy the beautifully lit Madinat Jumeirah with its canals weaving through the hotel complex and small gondola boats. On reflection, there is something slightly Tuscan about the outside terrace with its potted plants, bright work, pergola area and large group eating. Lastly, the roof terrace is a small climb where you get to enjoy the best sunset in Dubai with cocktails during happy hour including their signature prosecco with raspberry lollies and their patron margaritas. Their early grey tea, sage and blackberry cocktail is a stunning balance of fragrant and sweet.
Lastly there is a private dining room which is a patio and large table for about 8 people overlooking the canals in Dubai. It is a stunning place and highly recommend a booking here.
The food here focuses on small, well-executed portions highlighting signature ingredients. Some of my favourite courses here are:
• lamb saddle with pine nuts salsa and whipped pine nuts
• smoked paprika monkfish cheeks with salted lemon
• crispy hens egg with shallots and caramelised morels (STUNNING)
• sirloin of beef, thyme and croquettes
• Duck breast with kohlrabi
The wine menu is really good.
There is something for everyone here. It is the one restaurant I have been to the most in Dubai
Went to “Folly” on a Friday afternoon for some drinks and we were pleasantly surprised by the location as well as the Service.
We shared the vegetarian snack box along with the drinks, which was good as well. Only the size of the portion could be more value for money.

The staff are great. The food is definitely more than average. Small portions, not for sharing but surprisingly filling.
Loved every bit of this restaurant, especially the mood and ambience. The food was great too. Loved the foie gras,the lamb. Even the server was a great help, apologies I do not know his name. But this is officially my new favourite place for food and drinks.

Went on a date with my boyfriend last night for sundowners &honestly I fell in love with this charming place. The folly pop preseco based cocktail was absolutely delicious and the mushroom and blue cheese snack was so good I had to have seconds, the ambience is very relaxed and charming and the sunset view of Burj was incredible, the prices of the menu is not bad the menu is different. last but not least the service was fantastic by Louis and by Bar manager Raven. I will absolutely return for a date and definitely with friends.

Been here three times now and at all times the food has been amazing. Some reviewers say too salty, but I really don't think so. It was all generally stunning: creative and super delicious. Cod cheeks were a highlight as is the lamb for a main. The views are incredible and the staff lovely too.
(Nit-picky) downsides are that it is deceptively pricey. In part because the staff encourage you to order a few too many starters (so don't get 2 each). The mains are also pretty small (but still beautiful). The service staff aren't always as attentive as they should be and drinks service was slow. It can interfere with the night when you have to spend a healthy part of it leaning over trying to to catch someone's eye. Wine list is a tad limited for such great cuisine. Finally (on a personal note as this drink is my be session) the Espresso Martini was poor. Crushed ice?
All in all though, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back. Most of this is constructive criticism. Hence the 5 stars. Try it yourself.
Ordered off the tasting menu. We ordered goat cheese and it came with coriander seeds, tamarind chutney and croutons. Inspired and phenomenal. I'd order that again.
Also ordered a eryngi mushroom with curry and cashews. Thai curry flavours, vegetarian and very good.
Mains:
Lamb saddle with whipped pine nuts - very good flavour and texture. The salsa was slightly oversalted, but I forgave it because of the flavor. (Also, the presentation is lovely.)
Sirloin of beef - Nothing to write home about. Found it somewhat bland. Wouldn't recommend this one, stick with the lamb.
Recently visited folly by Nick & Scott for dinner, since I heard so much good recommendations. I have to say that the menu selection was quite interesting and intriguing, not really your ordinary menu options - which was a happy surprise. The staff was really attentive and supportive in suggesting the great selections. Would definitely visit again! Feedback for improvement would be that they need to check so they have the right information on their website since it was quite cumbersome to locate the right phone number and possibly a revamp of the website too, so that guests can easily make their table booking.
I’m giving this place a 4, not for the food necessarily but the service and ambience. For the setting it deserves a 5, gorgeous location with the backdrop of Madinat. I can imagine at sunset it would be a dream! The staff were absolutely lovely, really warm, attentive and knowledgable.
Food wise I would rate as a 3 at best, we had the monk fish which was quite salty, I know they say it has salty lemon on there but the salt was quite overbearing to the extent that it ruined the taste, the dumplings were pretty average, white beans for mains was ok, prob the best dish was the goat cheese, that was delicious!! The stone sea bass wasn’t bad either.
I went on Saturday for a drink in the afternoon, my friends recommended the cocktails from there! And it wasn’t wrong! All were delicious! The place is located in Madinat Jumeirah and has very nice views of the area, a cool bar setup and great decoration. There is happy hour where you can have a great cocktail for around 20 to 30aed. Cool staff and place!
I have only been here for sundowners so can’t comment on the food. I simply love the relaxed vibes here and the fact that it is set up in one of my favorite places in Dubai definitely helps its case as my go-to place when entertaining out of towners.

Happened to visit this beautiful restaurant for a baby product launch event and I can’t tell you how much I loved it !! I love restaurants with a view. This lovely restaurant is in Madinat Jumeirah. Love the interiors and ambience and totally welcoming staffs 💕 Would totally recommend this place 👍👍

An interesting dining concept situated in Madinat Jumeirah. Folly by Nick Alvis & Scott Price offers a food menu that’s definitely unique. It’s basically a DIY tasting menu where you pick a few dishes that you’re interested in trying. Speaking of, there’s no overly complicated menu or descriptions, the title of the each dish says it all. The quality and variety of dishes is also something worth noticing. From guinea fowl to monk fish, snails to sweetbread, there are some incredibly fascinating dishes worth tasting.
It’s a dining experience that’s unique and memorable, also great for a chilled evening with drinks at their open rooftop terrace. It is a bit pricey though so keep that in mind.
We ordered:
Some of the food we tried were the sage eggy bread with onion and spelt which was delicious! That onion chutney is a great addition. The cuttlefish with Szechuan pepper and black bean is nice new spin on a dumpling, very flavourful. The Eryngi Mushroom with curry and cashewnut was a favourite. The contrasting textures and flavours of mushrooms and cashews really brought this dish to life. For mains we had the guinea fowl with zaatar, stuffing and roast potatoes, we’re not used to this type of poultry but we found the flavour to be quite mild.
The Berry & Mint with blackberries, mint and lime topped with cranberry juice and soda is a must try. Very refreshing, fruity and delicious.
As for the desserts, the chocolate and hazelnut and rhubarb and custard are both fantastic! The latter was surprisingly the favourite, thanks to that tart rhubarb with the sweet custard and those crunchy layers in between.
The service: The service was great. The staff are helpful in helping you pick out dishes and making recommendations.
How to get there:
Folly is located in Madinat Jumeirah. The best way to get here is by car or taxi.
From Souk Madinat main entrance, from the taxi drop off and main entrance of the Souk follow the signs to the promenade restaurants or use the souk map for directions to location number 27 (marked as Publique)
From the car park: from the car parking exit turn right, walk through the open courtyard until you reach Times of Arabia restaurant then turn right and follow the corridor, the entrance to Folly will be on your left (folly.ae).
You’ll have to climb up a flight of stairs into the indoor seating area which then leads to the outdoor area bar overlooking the water.
Love this place for sundowners and bar snacks. I will definitely be going back for dinner. The menu seems interesting and the decor is cosy and inviting. Perfect for a casual catch up or romantic dinner for two!

Amazing view perfect for sundown drinks and a few cocktails after sunset. The menu is designed as a European tasting menu with a lot of starters and main course dishes to choose from the portions are small but that’s the main idea for this kind of food
To get to the restaurant you have to climb a reasonably large flight of stairs. The inside was empty and we were guided through an outdoor area to a very cozy space which had an outdoor bar and seating. Very pleasantly surprised.
We ordered some Nice wine and went to work on our order. The menu is designed to be shared, with a large variety of small plates prepared in a modern manner, with plenty to tease the palate.
we tried so many dishes, overall I would say 60% of them were delicious and the others some average and some not good at all. Stand out dishes; quail, snails, gnocchi, all meats, stone bass, Guinea fowl.
We ordered every dessert and they are great. Stand out; gingerbread, rhubarb and custard, hazelnut chocolate.
Our waiter was excellent and he really made the experience, unfortunately when he left the lady that took over was sub par.
Come here for a relaxed night with friends, lovely nibbles and good wine.
Came across this place by chance with a group of friends; decided to come in for a quick drink and left 6 hours later. Probably tried every cocktail in the menu and they are quite impressive and creative to say the least.
Location is perfect and impressive views of Madinat Jumeirah, good place for a date!

This was a delightful find, and thoroughly enjoyed by my Fiancé and I.
The food was delicious, although seemed to be small portions at first in comparison to Dubai standards, we left feeling satisfied after 3 courses. There was a wide selection of wines and beverages, the only downside if any was that there is only one selection of beer on draught.
The setting was really cool and we managed to sit on the roof bar terrace for our night cap drinks, which will surely be a popular venue in the coming cooler months. Which we will certainly visit again and bring our friends.

First time at Folly !!! Amazing food and unbelievably friendly and helpful staff.. The ingredients they use are extremely fresh and unique. Every dish bursts with flavor.. loved the Devon Crab starter dont miss it!!

If i have done my review on the same day i dine in for sure i will give straight away a rating of 5 but now i can say i have found something that makes the rating a bit lesser than what i should have expected due to food quantity, if your a type of person who is not fond of fine dining don't come near this resto, fine dining means less food :-) :-) but if your a wine person pls. do you'll enjoy the wine especially the Shiraz. Price wise its not for ordinary either average human beings like me but if you'll say you just want to try just once and enjoy the day pls. do! If your thinking of proposing to your girl soon during winter time they have a very nice view from their terrace overlooking the burj al arab its a romantic place but you need to reserve the whole space so it will become intimate. When it comes to service i say they are well trained, they know their wines and they know what they are serving and the owners itself cooks and serve for you aswell!

I'm giving this place 5 starts even though they still had some small things to perfect about a month ago when I had a dinner there. But even despite these minor issues (amount of salt used in a sauce for dish; number of staff constantly checking on the table; done-ness of a meat dish) I'm blown away! Starting from fantastic location that gives plenty of indoor and outdoor choices with amazing views, to really kind and attentive staff, to a friendly sommelier, to of course fantastic menu and delicious food! Their current promotion for steak dinner with wine is very attractive so I guess this is where I'm going to have my dinner one of these evenings...just need to get a +1 ;)
FYI : This rating is purely on the basis of the drinks served here.
If you can't choose between your drink and dessert because of your love for both, definitely go for the Martini here that comes with a Strawberry Popsicle. It's absolutely unique and definitely saves you the time contemplating between your alcohol and dessert ;) Apart from this, we also tried one of their Whisky Cocktails which was refreshing yet strong!

Nick & Scott are true stalwarts of the Dubai cooking scene. Coming to prominence in 2010 from leading Verre by Gordon Ramsay – to opening Table 9 in 2011 – to working with Spinneys on a product line and having success with their casual dining concept, Taste Kitchen. They’re now back in the game after a short hiatus, with a beautiful new fine dining restaurant in the Madinat: folly.
Can't wait to come back in the cooler months for the incredible view of Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab from their chilled out terrace. A small and simple place with a good happy hour and delicious veggie snack box.
I was happy to final a new restaurant online we hadn't tried yet. The location is lovely and the service very good. Unfortunately the Zomato description regarding the price per person (250 AED for two) is totally misleading unless you are a tiny bird that just needs some seeds to get a sated feeling :) The portions are very very small and you need a lot of small (pricey) plates to get more or less full. Nevertheless the food quality is excellent!
When asked to film a spot for the Entertainer, a few locations were thrown out. I immediately responded to Folly by Nick & Scott, as it seems like I am the last foodie in town to visit. Now, while I wasn’t particularly impressed by my first outing with the team, I was happy to put on an optimistic face to enjoy lunch at their new(ish) licensed venue (located at the Madinat). First of all, let’s get one thing very clear — the outdoor terrace might be the best in the city. Full stop. From the cafe style interior, what looks like a smaller deck turns into an expansive space, complete with its own bar (with enough plants to make the space really disconnect from the manufactured souq below). Even in the 35C heat, under the shade in the full afternoon sun, it wasn’t completely intolerable. Had I made it out to Folly during more normal temperatures, I can easily see

I should start by saying I had some reservations before we went, mostly relating to portion sizes and some comments others had made about the menu descriptions. Simply put, the food was delicious, the staff were incredibly helpful and we had a great night. We also made sure we ordered enough different dishes which we shared. The number of dishes we picked more than made up for the smaller portion sizes and meant we could try a greater variety of dishes and flavours. I actually found the starters to be the most impressive, particularly the monk fish and (surprisingly) the cuttlefish. I was disappointed by the crab (one of my favorite proteins normally) but my wife enjoyed it so clearly depends on personal preference. We also tried 5 desserts between us which may sound excessive but was just right (I have a sweet tooth!). All in all a lovely meal and we will definitely be going back.
There was a great atmosphere and we were entertained by hearing all the chefs joining in with a chorus of "oui" whenever a dish was ready. Most people finished eating by 10 at which point most of those cooking in seemed to be coming to the bar(s) so you get a change in atmosphere (not in a bad way).
It's also worth noting they have used more of the balconies at the back than rivington and created a lot more outside bar space with view across to the palm as well as a private outdoor dining area for 8 that we will definitely be trying when the weather is cooler.

Folly is located where the Rivington Grill used to be, and the latest guise of this location will certainly divide opinion.
Firstly, the outside area is exquisite like a Mediterranean patio with a view, however unfortunately the weather is starting to turn El Scorchio so soon it's going to be a good few months yet before it can be fully enjoyed again.
The concept is a cool one, with one major flaw (of which more later). The menu comes in categories of price, of which there are 3, one AED 45, next AED 70, finally AED 110. This is a tasting menu, the portions the size of tapas. We had chicken liver, cockles, sweetbread which were marvellous, and pigeon which was OK. (Note, if you are with someone who doesn't know what sweetbreads are, ask them to google it AFTER they've tried it and watch their face for comedy value).
So, those were the cheaper courses, and I was very much looking forward to the "main". Now here is the problem. The "main" is smaller than most starters in other establishments. That's fine if you're charging 50/60 AED but not OK at 110. It's just simply too expensive for the amount of food you're getting. We had sole and lamb and they were just OK... but portions geared towards the appetite of a supermodel rather than a normal sized human.
The service was great, particularly the wonderful sommelier, who recommended a wine that saved the visit. However, Folly was pretty much empty, and it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to work out that it's because the prices make it.... sorry for the obvious joke... a Folly
This new place is a journey of the senses throughout. The food is genuinely unique and amazing!!! The concept however needs to be well understood before visiting, otherwise one will get a surprise over the small portions of food. So the portions are super small so that you can appreciate the ingredients, the quality and the effort of putting a fish together, this way you can try as many items as possible, and you should try as many dishes as possible, everything we tried was 100% worth it. So keep in mind, one starter and one main is not enough even for the ones looking to have a small "snack"! That in mind, the restaurant's pricing strategy is not focused on value at all, it is pretty expensive but well worth it.
It’s always a bit of a highlight when a new restaurant opens in Dubai and folly is no exception, specially considering the stunning views that come with the location. The design is beautifully done and the service is a 10/10. Will be posting my full review with recommended dishes soon and will update the review then. In the meantime, you must try their Ginger Sour cocktail and their Monkfish cheeks, both are exceptional.

Why go there:
A great evening on madinat terraces - drinks, fine dining and views of the lake and burj al Arab.
Folly opened up 3 weeks ago. A great addition to an already long and competitive list of restaurants in madinat.
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and given a tour of Folly which is spread over multiple terraces and various levels before we settled down on one of the terraces overlooking madinat lake and al qasr hotel.
It is a not your typical restaurant. Portions are tiny. And for a table of 2 you will need to order at least 6-8 different items if you are hungry.
We started off with Devon Crab with Sea Weed and Omani Shrimp with lime gremolata. Crab and crispy sea weed made a fantastic combination. Shrimp was perfect. We were tempted to order more of it but we wanted to try other things too.
Moving on...Chicken Liver with malt vinegar and parsley was a big hit. Loved it. Barbecued Pigeon was a bit disappointing...meat was flavourless and sauce just didn't go with it.
For mains we had Stone Bass with Asian greens and mussel tempura. Very nicely done. Another big hit. Lamb Saddle with pine nuts and salsa - meat just could not be any better. Full marks for that. A bit surprised that pine nuts tasted stale.
This was followed by chocolate with hazel nut...enjoyed every bite of it.
We are super impressed by their service and hope that it stays that way.
Folly is definitely a must-try!
Superb guys. A nice paced meal, great setting always love madinats. The food was just my kinda thing. Small portions with price to suit. But gave opportunity to try some different flavours. Well worth a visit. !!!
Folly’s entrance is shared with another restaurant, called Publique. Two reception desks stand side by side, manned by two hostesses, one in black, one in red, both wearing the hopeful look of anticipation on their faces. Ultimately, every time a group walks through those doors, one hostess is going to be left disappointed. It’s a cruel, cruel world we live in.
