I have tried Jag restaurant before pandemic. They serve hot bread with dippings all complimentary. They have nice good food, it’s a nice food experience and another star for the great deals!

Amazingly located at box park Jumeirah,bthe restaurant itself will give you a smile. Menu contains Turkish and Azerbaijani cuisine. The food tasted do yummy and the chef special Jag Kabab was the winner. The portion almost fit for single person but if you are really hungry it won't be enough! A cosy place includes outdoor seating area to spend the eve with your loved ones
JAG Azerbaijani Cuisine feels like home, not only due to my cultural background, but also because of the friendly staff, comfortable seating and tasty food 😍. I used to eat there every week while staying in Jumeirah (live much farther now), but still hope to come there more often. The food is cooked with love ❤️, you can feel it. Yesterday I was feeling quite sick and really needed some warm and healing dovga (see the photo). The tea and complimentary lepeshka bread are a perfect addition to dovga soup.

I have been there yesterday for iftar. It was also my first time in the restaurant. The waitresses were very nice and cheerful.
The menu and the price was good.
I ordered chicken soup-seazar salad-lamb kebab and liked the taste. I was also missing Ramadan pide which we have it back home too and even it's smell is enough to make your day. There could be a dessert in the menu 😋 but considering the price not having dessert included in the menu is understandable.
I strongly recommend the management to consider being on Entertainer, in future! As most of us, after using the app, we don't see the other restaurants in the city because of getting used to choosing where we want to go from the list on the app by simply deciding about an area or cuisine. It could bring more customers as Turkish cuisine is quite liked in the UAE.

Love to sit on the terrace in the winter and enjoy the food. My only mistake is to get full from the delivious bread. But the food can be enjoyed the next day as well!
Authentic and quality Azerbaijani cuisine in an ideal setting. I have now been twice and I like the fact that the restaurant shows a video of the best of Baku and other famous regions, and that the music was fitting (I suspect Turkish). Paklava, samovar tea, choban salad and lamb kebab were all delicious, and I look forward to trying many more of their dishes in future, which I am confident represent the national cuisine very well.

I found this place by chance since I was looking for some other restaurant. And, I would call it my lucky day to have visited this place. I wanted to try Azeri cuisine and was unsure which place would be good for such a cuisine. So, when I saw this place, I thought of giving it a try without reading the reviews or checking the prices.
Since I was going for a pure Azeri experience, I ordered Dovgha (Yogurt-Mint-Rice based soup) and Jag Kabab, which was organic lamb meat skewers with vegetables, Azeri rice and bread along with sauces. The soup was also served with Tandir Bread (traditional Azeri bread), which I enjoyed both with the soup and the kabab.
I felt that the food was similar to Turkish cuisine, however, I did feel variation in terms of spices and preparations giving a delicious end result. One item in the menu is not enough to judge the entire cuisine but it was good enough to know which place is going to be in my return list and JAG is one of them.
If you're going in a group, make sure to order kompote as it's sold in a 1 ltr bottle. If you're single, then try the Georgian grape soda, which will make you forget the conventional soft drinks.

Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 cuisine - located in box park @boxparkdubai . A perfect spot for meaty delight😋😋 As a part of warm welcome, freshly baked specialty bread came which was warm and soft 🍞 Dovga soup which is basically yogurt soup served hot 🍜 and it was 😋 Yashil salad 🥗 fresh and wholesome with sundries tomatoes to give the zest 🍅 The main course came in, hot aromatic rice with juicy succulent meat 🍖 Overall it was an amazing delicious experience.
We always have Friday breakfast at Jag. Amazing food, natural ingredients from Baku, always fresh and healthy. Highly recommended also for lunch and dinner, if you would like to taste amazing Azebaijani food in a quiet welcoming place.

We had yogurt soup(personally not my favorite but my husband really loved it), choban and mangal salads: key words - fresh and tasty 😊 and govurma for the main course: d e l i c i o u s. Highly recommend.

You need to eat red meat otherwise your brain will stop working. Azerbaijani dishes are about quality meat. JAG is offering high-end meat products based on traditional preparation. You need vitamin B12 anyway, which is only available in animal products. Best lamb meat is from Azerbaijan, scientist already proofed that fact. Go there, order some lamb meat, enjoy your life on the highest level. Strongly recommend for those who appreciate delicious meat dishes.

The place serves Azerbaijani cuisine. Being Azerbaijani myself, I would recommend Yarpaq Dolmasi (wine leaves stuffed with minced meat) and qutab (thin layer of rolled dough cooked on a stone oven wall or convex griddle) from the menu. Tea set was also good but quite overpriced (as the whole menu pretty much). The rest of the menu items could be imprpves. The atmosphere and ambience are alright, staff is fast and efficient.

Looking for some meaty delight we ended up at Jag ( box park ). Along with card menu there was visual menu on tab was also Avaiable so you can be sure what you are ordering . Ambiance was nice and cosy with Dubai and Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 flags . Video of Azerbaijan sights and culture were also being displayed on tv screens which was nice . Ordered deep fried meat dumplings and Jag kababs . We were served fresh traditional bread along with yougart . Bread was very delicious. Meat dumplings were ok for me but really liked by my better half . JAG kababs were succulent and juicy served with rice which complemented the kababs really well . Overall amazing , enjoyed the food and service . 👍Mohsin

Everything from their traditional bread starter to the main course are just impeccable.
The most favorite dish for sharing comes to you steaming on an open flame. Tender pieces of meat and chicken that are perfectly flavored along with an assortment of grilled veggies..
In addition, many favorites are on the menu like Dõlma (stuffed vegetables ...like mahshi) .
Great atmosphere...Staff are very welcoming and make you really feel like a guest.
Only issue I have is that the air ventilation system in the restaurant could use an upgrade. When the coal grilling area is being used, much of the smoke travels from the kitchen to inside the dining area. It is lovely to smell the aromas but the smoke gets too stuffy at some point.
Amazing food and very interesting menu. The freshly baked bread and the salads are delightful and the chicken saj is succulent and spicy without being chilli hot. A BoxPark favourite!

Journey: We had bagged the treasure hunt event at Boxpark and earned some vouchers to spend at the place. One of which was Jag Azerbaijan. So we finally made our way to try out this place with Turkish cuisine.
Ratings: 6.5 Golden Nuggets
Ambiance: It is a cosy place with soft lighting and has Azeri music playing in the background while showing snippets of the countryside. The decor has incorporated the whole Azeri concept with the flag at the entrance and pictures around the whole restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which could be selected depending on the weather. Since it was quite hot we decided to get a table inside the place. The temperature was pretty warm inside as well.
First time tasting Azerbaijani cuisine I must say it tasted very nice. Ambience is good staff is very nice and very well mannered. Food is traditionally Azerbaijani and Turkish. We had their two kebab dish with rice the kebab were nice juicy and succulent. Rice tasted blunt but I think it complemented the kebab very well. Sure will come again to try something else.

Jag is a delightful Azeri restaurant in Box Park, al-Safa. The food is deliciously authentic, covering a respectable range of Azeri, Turkish and regional specialities. Raw materials such meat, dairy and even some of their desserts are imported fresh, directly from Baku. All their chefs are Azeri. Service is warm, hospitable and accommodating. If you like the cuisine of the Caucasus, you will LOVE this restaurant. I did. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant last night, I read the reviews before going and I have to say are quite accurate for what I saw but our experience was a bit different. First thing the not so strong point is the main dishes, we ordered Tursh Govurma Plov that is nothing extraordinary to say the least.
Now the high points: Our waiter was a guy called Ercan from Turkey. He took the time to talk to us about Azerbaijan culture, dishes, tea and more. Incredibly funny and respectful and knew every detail of the dishes, teas, drinks, etc.
The Azerbaijan tea is amazingly good and also the bread. The Dushbara soup is also incredible and worth trying, very tasteful.
Last but not least, the dessert was also great, I can't recall the name but it was fruits with a sugary siroup, very very good.
There is one plov that we couldn't try cause you have to order it 5hs in advance. We are coming back for that one when we have the chance.

With a name that sounds like my car.. I expected a modern cafe but upon entering very quickly realized that it's a traditional cafe specializing in Azerbaijani and Turkish cuisine.
Special mention to the non stop video that showcases the best there is of Azerbaijan- from the gorgeous caspian coast to the ultra modern Baku!
Considering it was a Sunday morning and not many people it took too long for my food to Arrive but the service was pleasant.
I had to ask before I was told my breakfast would turn up in 2 min. The eggs looked like a green pancake. The taste was average not exceptional but was filled with all sorts of green leafies predominantly mint. I liked the garnish of walnuts on top. The foot long tandoor bread and yoghurt pot on the side seemed like another meal altogether. The bread was piping hot, straight from the tandoor I guess and generously sprinkled with sesame seeds.
Tea was allrite with an after taste of cloves.
Would I return again? Maybe before a trip to Azerbaijan to make sure I watch the video and make a note of all places to visit.

Was strolling through boxpark and decided to give this place a try. They serve Azerbaijan cuisine and was excited to try it for the first time. The waitress informed us that everything off the menu is fresh from Azerbaijan and because of that some options may not available due to the limited quantity imported. A complementary bread is served before the main course with 2 dips. It was fluffy and went great with the dips and I was half full from eating it. For starters we had Qutab with Green - which is a tortilla bread stuffed with diced mint leaves. For main course we had the Jag Kebab which is lamb meat. The meat was juicy and tasty and went great with the starting bread. All in all a great first experience. Ambience is great and staff are friendly. Highly recommended. Silika
Love the food very rich and fulfilling, lots of choices I love the stuffed grape leaves. The service is very good. The food is heavy so I recommend eating it for lunch or an early dinner.

It was our first visit to Azerbaijan restaurant ,it was amazing,the food so delicious,good experience to try ,the food is near of Turkish food ,I advise to try the chicken,and lambs steaks
Jag impressed me and made me respect and love Azerbaijani food.
Overall it is a mix of Persian and Turkish food with a touch of the Arab cuisine. Yet it holds its on taste and certainly one that I admire.
Started with the Mangal Salad ( Juicy eggplant salad ) and went for the beef Dumplings something like a dumsum or monte which surpringly is a dish in the KSA as well it was nice with the sour cream dip !
For mains went for the Jag kebab ( could have had more flavor overall the meat was good )
Ghormah Sabzi which is even a Iranian dish was very different the azberjani had way to much pomegranate sauce on it that it was over pouring nevertheless not a bad meal.
Service was not to the mark as it was very busy in the weekend when I entered but that determines a Resturant from being excellent to ok
What a great discovery! I don't remember the names of the dishes we had but everything was delicious! Especially lamb dumplings with sour cream. The service was great also. The only downside was their choice of music. Will bring ear plugs next time
We were completely winging it with this one - no clue what Azerbaijani cuisine is like nor any idea about their standards either and boy were we blown away.
For starters, they serve you this bread with a yogurt based sauce and it was just brilliant.
Post their bread, I had the thin flatbread with stuffed with mutton and topped with pomegranate; a decent dish however I felt that the mutton was so thin it barely added any flavour to the overall dish.
For mains I had their Jag kebabs, somewhat crispy shawarma style lamb which was delicious. I wish my palate was strong enough to pick out the flavours as I would have loved to recreate this at home.
While you are here, so try their teas as well - should thy offer shisha, I can imagine people coming here daily for tea and shisha.
Service wise they were a tad slow and while the decor is pretty cute in he swanky box park area, Their choice of techno / electric music was a bit too much for me.

The food was fantastic due to the great quality.. the meat comes from Azerbaijan where i believe the quality is really great * dont miss it* every dish i tried was certainly delicious..

We ordered soup as it was a bit chill out and I like authentic heavy soups and this one didn't fail it was the you hurt one with rice and chickpeas in it, it had a mix of herbs and not your usual you gift soup taste but it was what I usually look for in soups

Good food with an amazing service from the very hospitable staff. Chicken was delicious but the fish was rather bland. However, the staff (Mr.Karim) was keen to know how they can adapt the typical Azerbaijan style fish to something more acceptable to the pallete.
If you have lost your genes in the cosmopolitanism of Dubai, then this is a place you should go, for the best Kababs at least. Fresh Meat is being brought from the mountain pastures of south caucasus, hence the meat is so soft. And OMG cooked by the receipts of Azerbaijan cuisine, magnificent is the right word for it. Wanna feel like a king wearing a taj? Your answer is Saj! As an Azeri I'm very proud of you Jag 👍🏽.

This place offers traditional Azerbaijani cuisine and, while going through their menu, one can attest the fact that this place definitely has something new to offer to Dubai foodies. Most of the food items in the menu were new to me, and the images displayed in the menu against each food item helped me immensely in selecting my order. The restaurant staff are very friendly too and can provide you additional guidance if you are in a fix about what to order.
Upon my interaction with the waitress, I was informed that they import their meat, vegetables and jams from Azerbaijan owing to the dearth of quality food items locally. Upon having my food, I have to admit the fact that the food was very indeed very fresh and quite unlike what you can normally expect to eat in restaurants in Dubai. The meat was very fresh and tasted amazingly different from what I have eaten before and the tomatoes were simply superb!
To explore their collection of Jams, I ordered the quince and cherry ones for dessert. They were mind-blowing and made my taste buds explode. I ordered an additional bowl of cherry jams.
A family place with good food, I would definitely recommend this place to Dubai foodies who are looking for a change.
Wow, what an experience!!! I haven't try such a taste , authentic and traditional Azeri food for a long time.... As I was explained by friendly staff most of the product comes from Azerbaijan... I think this explains such unique taste of the meat and some dishes ... Definitely will be on my top dining list .

The food is definitely the queen in Jag! You bite and realise how fresh the ingredients are. Have a very light lunch before you go there:)
It is a cozy place with unique azeri music on background . Service was good with the staff being attentive and
friendly.I just enjoyed the quality of the food. I had a very tasty dovga and kavurma. Dont miss azeri style tea with various selection of "murabbas". And the bread, simply mmmm...

We order Dovga (cold), dushbere, dolma, saj and jag kebabs. All were excellent. Tomatoes and the greens were delicious. They bring most of their products from Azerbaijan and you can feel the difference in taste. Nice atmosphere. Portions are small. So 1 person should order minimum 2 mains. Dessert were good too. Place to try. Definitely will come back again. (Jag kebab and dolma are highly recommended)
I had dinner in this place. 4 people -700AED. nice place, good atmosphere, very welcome waiter and manager. deliciuos beef, fantastic sour vegetables,all food was nice but tea and sweets were expensive 30 aed for 3 small pieces of pahlava? it is a lot. nuts platter was great and sweet jam also but again for 80-100 ml of this jam -30 aed. :( by the way tea was nice and they serve it nicely. definately will come one more time there to try fish:)
