There are only few Inner Mogolia restaurant in U.A.E, from my point of view, Xiao Wei Yang is the best, fine dining, the ambience is just refreshing, food back and now is tasty, good service, you can customize to your taste prederences by creating your own sauce.
A great experience, I would recommend Xiao Wei Yang to all.
I'm a hot pot person,so once my friend brought me here i'm just in love with it.I would say this dinner is my top 1 hot pot restaurant. If you have friends over you should definitely bring them here.
Amazing, by far the best traditional Chinese Hot Pot experience in the UAE. Been going here for 5 years now & I swear by it, keep up the good work guys, it’s a must try

Delicious Chinese cuisines in the abu dhabi downtown. We do like the hotpot style menu with our favorites among fishball, shrimpball and the meat. Awesome experience. ..
Actually this is the first time i've tried Mongolian hot pot. The experience is great, the food is authentic, and the staffs are nice. Definitely will visit again!
The Mongolian hot pot is put in the center of the table. Ingredients are brought on big platters. Everyone has ladles and chopsticks to add or take from the steaming boiling broth. The feature is lamb stripes paper thin. You dip it in the broth briefly for pink or lonver for well done. There are tofu, green leafy veggies, mushrooms, and all kinds of current seasonals. As the pot cooks down, they will add more. This is a wonderful winter party meal. Children love it!
Love it u must try delicious food and worth it here
I love this place. Staff very friendly and the food is amazing..
Nothing but Tasty. Best hot pot dining ever.
Traditional Mongolian cuisines that elevate ur dining experience to the next level.
Recommend for those who are missing home and those who want to eat like a local.
I love everything about this place! The ambience, the food, the servers and of course, your money’s worth! Will keep on coming back!
amazing experience to enjoy Chinese cuisine .
food is good in quality and ambient is excellent.
staff is so friendly.
a wide range of food is available.
We came here last Friday, though we've been here countless times before. The portions are really big and it tastes great. The staff are very nice and obliging. Definitely order the twin pot, and get some meat and noodles. We normally get the vegetables individually so we can actually get what we like, although they have nice combos.
We normally get for the hot pot - lamb slices, black fungus mushrooms, fried bean curd, fish balls, bean vermicelli, and seaweed.
A new favorite for me is the grilled fish tofu on a stick. Heavenly! To finish our meal, we like the golden buns and the sweet yogurt.
They also have complimentary watermelon. Sauce is chargeable per bowl - but definitely get some of it.
First time having a mongolian food. It was so good and Love the food!
Ordered hot pot with both, normal and spicy broth, beef skewers, angus beef, lotus, spinach, black fungus and been curd. The ice tea was very good. Overall Food was good. Good ambience and staff
Was amazing njoyed like anything
We had wide variety of all chinese and other non veg dishes
Most of the grill items was so yummy and the spices was so fresh
Sushis was also unlimted and was so fresh...the noodles kimchi packet was there we made our own style of soupy noodles,,,was spicy...we had chicken beef fish shrimps and lot of other dishes.....overall worth trying for a buffet and hotpot experience
Crowd was so big and we waited for 45 minutes, but they allowed us to eat starters like pizza, veg rolls, sushi etc, we were standing and eating it since got hungry and angry hehe.....
Cud say the drinks collection they have is very poor, rest all are amazing...
Overall:
Ambience : 3/5
Staff: 4/5
Food quality: 5/5
Worth of money: 4.5/5
Great place for a good HotPot. For those who are first timers in here, order a combo which is worth for a try having spicy and blant combined together. You will be served with a variety of options for the addons. An exciting experience to have it with chop sticks and chineese soups. You can also try the various spicy blends that can be done without any help. Of course if you dont have an idea on the chineese spice, the staff can help you out with variety combinations. Must try for a chineese food lover and highly recommend during winter. The staff are also friendly and help you with ordering and they are up till 1'O clock.
Though a lot of Hotpots hve flooded the city Thz plce is ever close to heart. Always been a favorite. Their Golden Buns n Meat Pie r always a treat. Obviously the Pot first. Sliced lamb, lotus roots, wood ear mushrooms, fish tofu, fish balls, beef dumplings r a Must 😊 Jst tht i prefer to wash the bowls n spoon once more. Not an OCD but tht alone i prefer to double chk. Happy Hogging guys - cuz thtz wat I Do 😂
There’s plenty of food to choose from. The service was great. The food was very good. Overall, the experience was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place
One of a kind dining experience...Had tried this place out with friends & absolutely enjoyed our first experience...
.
.
Our new experience to try what is called the "HOT-POT"... HOT-POT also know as Steamboat is a Chinese Stew containing a variety of East Asian Foodstuffs & ingredients prepared with a simmering pot of soup situated at the middle of the dining table... .
.
It comprises of thinly sliced pieces of raw meat, sauces and garnishes as per your choice.
.
.
The meat is cooked in the hot broth with garnishes & dipped in sauces made as per your taste.. .
.
The thought of raw meat might not be ok with everyone & I had d same feeling but as explained by the staff that this is boiling broth & strips are as thin as possible so once dipped in & kept for few secs gets fully cooked...🍜🍝🥘🥓 . Staff was helpful to guide us through our our first experience & we Loved it & recommend it!
This has been one of my favorite hot pot restaurant for years, fresh vegetables, selection of meat and noodles dipped into this tasty Mongolian broth. Friendly waiters and great ambience, will always come back.
Hot pot is the perfect cuisine for the cold season . They serve several condiments with your hotpot and a large range of meats to choose from . Highly recommended for authentic magolian/ Chinese cuisine .
Hotpot for the hungry souls. It was so filling that we almost didn’t finish the hotpot.
The ingredients such as squid balls and the like were tasty. They also had good number of sauce choices. Of course, peanut sauce was the favorite! Also commended them for just charging for people who got the sauce, unlike most hotpot restaurants I’ve been to.
Ambiance was a little dark but still okay. I think if I’d ever crave for hotpot, this resto would definitely be my go-to.
Great hotpot and amazing sauce station. The meats were nice and the service also great. They had an all you can eat hotpot offet which is every hotpot lovers dream with unlimited refills of the meats and veggies
Love their hot pot! Every time I visit Dubai, I have to eat here. I love my hot pot with their noodles, bean curd and their meatballs! Very tasty! 😋
Very good Chinese restaurant for hotpot and BBQ buffet, very polite staff & attentive. I do recommend to all my friends and family u have to try
This shop is Same as baniyas n near salah al din metro station .. best hot pot in UAE .. can’t compare with other shabu shabu .. their sauce is so many variety .. n tasty whenever u mix .. staff r very patient n so nice .. very good service .. they gave some voucher (like cash ) for next time come back to their shop .. ❤️❤️❤️
Well this kind of food I tried for the first time had a good experience, so basically you have half cooked meat/ chicken and other options they have and you boil in pot which has two options spicy and normal .
And then you add everything and let it boil and then you have it.
We had icebergs +vermicille +chicken +quail eggs +some herbs ( all this goes in hotpot) more you add better it taste
We also had springs rolls + noodles and sweet and sour chicken.
They also give you sweet yoghurt (charged) to clear your taste buds to have a better taste .
Service 4.5
Food 4
Amabiance 4 .
Must try at least once #Hotpot #mydubai 🇦🇪 #mycity #maiaurmerebaiko
Just came back from the restaurant after lunch and really cannot wait to write a review. If you want to have a hotspot and you like it and like the concept of it this is a must visit. Best one that I have had in Dubai.
Two things that I can recommend for improvement is -
- prawns that were served were straight out of the freezer
- we were a couple and we found each individual condiment to be tooo large would recommend half portions to be served as it will help couples enjoy a variety of condiments and enjoy the experience further ....
but I am so glad to have found this place

The introduction to this delicacy was through my brother .
Then suddenly my bdae boy said he wanted to eat hot pot and I remembered this place when I visited last with my family .
The ambiance as before very cozy and the best place to have a hot pot. Amazing staff very courteous and helpful. We almost ordered everything on the menu as quite evident in the pics
Well u must take the mixed pot so u can hv the taste of the original and spicy broth.
We ordered the noodles but I’d say try n avoid that as it’s difficult to remove as the pots going to be really hot but again it’s as per your taste.
Top it up with more of vegs which we did not because the birthday boy wanted only meats.
Try to order the meatier beef chunks and not the thin slices coz went the pots really hot the slices disintegrate. Add more of mushrooms 🍄it really adds to the taste and bamboo stems.
I loved my experience here overall and will always visit it !
Good service but very very busy so make sure you come early or book a table.....
The food was fresh and tasty, you cook it yourself.... we opted for spicy broth which was very very tasty.... we added so sliced beef, seafood and vegetables and noddles which were all fresh... the cost was aed350 for two people which was ok...
I went to have hotpot late at night with friends, the Mongolian hotpot was quite authentic, and the taste was well, but the meat was frozen and not very fresh

The food here so nice and really the best ,, this is the second time I went here and surely it is the best and never regret it me and my friend really satified with the food and also the service. Surely will come back again
Tried the style spicy hot pot broth which was indeed too spicy for my taste. The lamb shashlik grilled fish tofu were good. The fish tofu, dried bean curd sticks, wood ear mushroom and beef dumplings were great and I must say you should definitely order them. We had all this with the traditional ice tea and absolutely loved his. Order 3 or max 4 items for a table for 3.
I was first introduced to the famous Hotpot style of eating a few years ago by my now husband.
We asked the waitress to help make the spicy peanut sauce which was just amazing.
Continue with the good and helpful service provided. Food is just yummy. Eating with chopsticks isn't so hard.
This is really great , better than the all you can eat
I chose the hot pot combo (better value for money)
Meatball was good
Thin beef slices just like proper shabu2
Lamb Skewer was excellent
Condiment was complete and nice
Prawn really fresh and tasty
Crab roe meat ball is the best
Lamb ribs is pefcet but difficult to eat, even they give plastic gloves but still need effort to eat
Crispy skin and thin layer fat and juicy meat with nice spices 8/10
Soup base is good but you can taste the chinese herbal when is no longer hot
The hotpot is fantastic, friendly people, the restaurant is very authentic. a lots, i LOTS of sauce to choose from. Here’s the catch if you post your food and tagged them in social media whether it’s facebook, Instagram or etc.. you’ll get 20% off from your total bill!! ♥️♥️ that’s so amazing! It is truly a hidden gem!! ♥️♥️♥️ definately will come back! 😁😁😁👌🏻👌🏻
It was great time to have Hot Pot in Dubai. Variety of food was enough, serving was very quick. It was first time for us this experience but really enjoyed it.
I am not a great fan of Hot Pot. But I had heard about this place so decided to try it.
Its a decent place with good ambiance. However, there is a typical aroma which not everyone will like. The servings are well presented. The raw meat and fish balls on the plate looks good.
This place is not for someone who is found of Spicy and cooked food. Also not for someone who cannot negotiate with raw fish or meat. They have very limited options of cooked food.
The concept is really good. From the sauces to the cooking of your meat is on you.
As its a different concept, is a must visit to get the experience atleast once. If you are looking for some healthy and bland food, this is the place. Pricing and Service is decent.
A one time visit is sufficient.
P.S.- DO NOT START WITH THE CRAB BALLS.
Had a good time last night. We filled our empty stomach with their half spicy half normal hot pot. Very polite service same as the first time we ate here. We actually got vip seating for free. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 just the not well-maintained washroom was my problem, i usually feel elated with clean and well-groomed restaurant washroom. Peanut sauce is winner ♥️
Ambience
Been to this place several times. The place is small and cozy. The whole place smells like the broth which I love.
Price
AED. 50-70 per person.
Staff
Not so friendly staff. Staffs mostly speak Chinese and Hindi.
Fill
Medium filling.
Dishes Tried
Spicy hot pot (essential). You gotta dip the meat, black fungus, needle mushrooms, spinach in the hot pot. Let them cook for 2 to 5 minutes and they're ready to be served. It all tastes really good.
Shashlik kebab (not to be dipped) is a must try and follow it up with golden bun for deserts. Ice tea for drinks is a must too.
We went looking for a Korean BBQ or hot pot restaurant in Dubai and stumbled across this gem. The staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and don't forget to try the sauce!
My favourite place to eat in UAE... The staff are friendly, the food is as fresh as you can get... and the broth is just mouth watering...
Preview of the restaurant is in my YouTube channel

Its just a simply wow.
Wonderful food 🥘
Simple but mix of good flavors and veg.
Hug option in menu and thats what i want to have it always.
Highly recommended....
Thank you guys see u soon...
Having experienced a hot pot only once before in Xiewangfu Beijing, this was my first Dubai experience, and it was pretty authentic. There was no language barrier with the staff which there often tends to be in authentic Chinese restaurants and the English menu even has a few hot pot combos to choose from for the first timers scratching their heads. We had a combo that included beef strip-loin, crab, shrimp, plenty of dumplings and of course shiitake mushrooms, tofu and vegetables with a mixed half spicy half non spicy broth hot pot. Absolutely delicious, the thin slices of beef cooked in seconds and the shrimp were fresh with their shell on hence retaining all their juiciness. Sauce collection table was spectacular (and labeled in English! - ok perhaps you'll only be as excited about English labels as me if you've visited China). The only thing missing was pork of course. Try their local liquorice flavored fizzy canned drink and keep ordering from their wide selection of meats for more (we tried the hand cut lamb as well which was delicious). Unlimited broth in the hot pot is standard practice. The food isn't cheap but very healthy and light. Parking is a joke you'd be better off swimming across the creek to reach the restaurant. Hot pot is not for vegetarians.
Their hot pot is good and affordable. Their sauces are a bit limited. Nevertheless still good to eat and celebrate here. Their restaurant is spacious and service is good.
Good food at right price.. Value for money.. We had the hot pot in spicy broth.. The best meats were special Lamb, wood ear mushroom, cod, prawn dumpling and broad noodle in that order.. Squid could avoided as they tend to smell even when eaten with Little Lamb sauce.. One should go with time at hand Adv this affair takes minimum 2 hrs..
Chinese hotpot for the win....
I keep on coming back here because of the crab balls...the only thing I don’t like is the slow service. I think they only have one crew who served customers from ground floor to first floor.
Hot pot restaurant located across reef mall and ansar gallery. Ambience were good. Table arrangements are set for comfortability. Staff are accommodating, they just need to put some smile in their faces while in dining area..
Had a package 1 meal. Combinations of seafoods, beef, kiamballs and veges. We started up with a bunch of peanuts given to us.
We love the food, we made it a kick of spicy just to boost our appetite.. The Green leafy vegetables are really fresh. The shrimp is tasty, it must have been fresh.
Overall, we love it. Probability of coming back is 99%
Hotpot. One of my favorite.
So yeah, we ordered for a mix of flavored soups.
Spicy and normal.
Must say spicy 5/5,
Normal 3.5/5.
To start if we had the kebab and dumpling.
The kebab was tender and yum.
And, the shrimp dumpling was just out of the world. 5/5.
The lamb, chicken we're juicy and good.
Not to forget the fungus, mushrooms to go with.
My favorite dessert not to forget 'The Golden Bun' a nice tasty bun going along with milkmaid, oh just so yum.
Overall 4.5/5.
This is one of the dishes I have always wanted to try out since a very long time, totally worth the money and tim spent. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. Very very clean.
Order: Twins Hot Pot with herbs, chicken wings, fresh mushrooms, lettuce, Potato, Vegetables fried noodles, beef dumplings, specialty lamb slices, kebabs and Chinese iced tea 🍵
Highly recommended 💯
Amazing food! Best chinese i have ever had!
Service is also great. People always around checking if everything is ok.
Ingredients were fresh and of high quality.
Highly recommed if you want to experience traditional chinese cuisine.
I've heard alot about this place, and I finally got to try it last week, and I gotta say.. Best. In. Dubai.
Maybe even some of the best in the world that I've had (minus pork)
All the food is done so well. The meats are fresh and well seasoned.
We had the following
Mix spicy and normal brothe
Veal tongue
Mongolian beef
Black fungus
Chinese buns
Scalliom pancake
Lamb shashlik
All were amazing. Can't wait to come back!
It was our first time trying a hotpot and it proved to be a marvelous experience. We loved the restaurant, its warm environment and friendly staff. The food is as delicious as it can get. Everything is freshly served and the broth were yummy! Their sauce corner is just amazing with so many different sauces to try. This restaurant is now not only a personal favorite but also a very strong recommendation...
about the restaurant , decor and atmosphere were nice and quiet , very good pricing.
I ordered spicy broth but what they gave was the basic broth with too much of fresh small pieces of red pepper and i had difficulty eating those small pieces of red chili it was annoying, i prefer if the broth was made already spicy and the chili pieces were removed.
One more problem is that parking is kinda impossible in the area , if you want to park you have to go for the private paid parking areas where 1 hour of parking costs 10 dhs.
We tried the Chinese hot pot here the first time...it was excellent...variety of choices from different types of mushroom to crab to mutton, lamb meat to choose from..very reasonable..the staff were very helpful..they have this special Chinese drinks that u need to try it's awesome...their ice tea is good as well.. truely an authentic Chinese experience..love it..would definitely come here again Beniz Fernandes
The 4th outlet I've been to of this franchise and they're all one better than the other. Can never get tired of eating here. The meat and veggies are so fresh here. Having the right amount of spices, the hotpots are my fav. The concept and menu remains the same as the other outlets here as well. Cook your own food, help yourself to the sauce buffet if you prefer and enjoy your food. As simple as it gets.
I was totally satisfied when my friend brought me here. She was actually proud to be introducing me to the place considering that I have stayed a lot longer in Dubai than she is.
The hotpot in this place is so amazing. I can feel my tummy smiling 😄.
We tried their Half Mongolian Style & Half Spicy hotpot, some rice and their Grilled Mongolian Bun. It was really a good experience dining here.
I'd be coming back here with my brother for sure.

Authentic Chinese restaurant from its ambiance to its food. Tried their hotpot combo which costs 128 Aed. Half of it is spicy while the other half is not. We ordered dumplings which is of great taste but small portion of ingredients inside of it. The sauce costs 5aed per person per bowl that we didn't know haha and its refillable, we should opted to take 1bowl if we know it.
This was a one of a kind experience for me...went with a group of friends, which is how it should be enjoyed! We tried the half an half pot and tried a lot of things from fish balls, crab balls, mushrooms, sea weed, dumplings, thinly sliced meats and noodles!
My personal favourites were the thin slices of beef and the dumplings (I am a passionate momoist)!
The staff were not english speaking on our first visit which was alright with us even though we were struggling just to tell them we wanted to try their iced teas! Somehow the fact that we were the only indians and that no one spoke english gave it a more authentic touch! Lol, I know, funny right? But anyways, now they do have an english speaking waiter.
We really enjoyed this completely authentic feeling hotpot experience. when we were done, our table looked like a bunch of five year olds had eaten there. It was mess! Everyone else were dining like pros!
We did not know about the sauces but we didn't really feel like we missed anything.
I also took another group there but they didn't really enjoy it so I guess this isn't everyone's pot of shabu shabu!!
You can park in the RTA building nearby. Don't bother looking anywhere else.
Little Lamb is our fave spot for hotpot. Choices of food are really great. You can order from their set menus or order as much as you can. There are also many choices for your sauce or dips like peanut sauce which I like so much, chili, garlic, etc. plus vinegar & soy sauce for taste. Staffs are always greeting you every time you enter and exit their establishment.
I usually tried my first hotpot at Singapore and I must say that it exceeded a bit of my expection because of the different concoction of sauces you could try from their buffet sauces. I am not sure if this is the branch at rolla since there is no other branch mention here in Zomato. Staffs are serious but helpful... Food is great, been here twice with my family. Ambiance is a bit nice. Price is affordable but we were trick with the 3 dirhams per person for the buffet sauces. So I advice that only one person will get the sauce, so only one person will be billed. I would prefer it if there is a buffet hotpot like we used to have in SIngapore. And has a grilling portion around the pot wherein you can grilled some of the ingredients. I love the sweet oranges for dessert as their complimentary. Would be coming back for sure.
Been a regular client of Tehran restaurant for years I was crossing this restaurant without paying any attention, till one Monday I decided to give a try. I asked for green salad, chicken spicy & shrimp spicy (takeaway). I ate at home. To be honest food was tasty. Not as good as what I used to have in KL chinese joints but according to Dubai standard it was a good experience.
Hot pot is something I really miss staying in dubai. This place was as close as it could get to some of the most amazing hot pots I have eaten in China. Of course the Pork options are not there here in UAE. Some of the best spicy hot pots have a tad more flavor in the pot. Worth a try though. Nice Chinese staff.
Very popular place !! We had to wait 20 mins to get a table. As I was trying the Hot Pot for the first time, it was a mixed experience for me. Loved the DIY concept. The ingredients were really fresh and service (except the english) was quite good. We Ordered different meats and veggies and had a really hearty meal. I would want to go back again but maybe with a Chinese person so that rather than experimenting, I really get to see how it should really be done !!

Best way to go with friends in this freaking windy cold Dubai winter, and share like a family! They have fresh stuffs and tasty soup for hotpot. And don't forget their bun and dessert. Down side is their staff don't really understand english, ends up we have to ordered same stuff repeatedly. But still will come back
If you want to experience something out of your comfort zone, go ahead with your loved ones to Xiao Wei Yang... it was my first hotpot moment and definitely won't be my last one. Initially I was apprehensive about trying out this style of eating, but with some coaxing from the boyfriend, we decided to give it a go. We ordered the seafood and meat combo amd it will take some time to cook in the pot. So remember to keep an eye on your meat. Should give this place a try simply because the staff was very welcoming and the food was altogether yummy. Definitely order some warm tea to make you feel refreshed while you dine here.
Went to Xiao Wei Yang Hotpot after a long run in the old souks of Dubai. Upon reaching the place we got welcomed by the super smiling staff who rushed into explaining the concept of the Hotpot. We ordered 2 pĺatters and placed the pot on the fire... we had to wait until it starts boiling to dip the ingredients inside... the taste was so yummy especially after adding the peanut butter sauce in the cooking pot. I will definitely go back there but for a light meal as i felt hungry after one hour. Don't miss the experience if you are around the corner...
Xiao Wei Yang is our friday nightly go-to place 👍🏼 We even ever hardly take photos and just get down to eating. The service is fast, the veggies are fresh. The rice is served steaming hot. The fishballs are so tasty and the shrimps are perfectly spicy. Plus there's a free plate of watermelons. If you're looking for something inexpensive, heavy but quick to warm your tummy. This is the place 👍🏼
me and my friends love to eat, and we tried a lot of resto around the uae..i must say, xiao wei yang is so awesome in terms of the food.. the shabu shabu is so delicious! my favorite is the crab balls ( i think we ordered 4 plates of that) and the fish tofu.. i made a perfect sauce also for that.. the experience is good.. when we went there it was their holiday i think so they said we have to finish our food soon because the seat we occupied is already reserve, though in a nice ways they said that i am little disappointed because we still want to stay there for a moment and have some talks.. but nevertheless the food is perfect!
Enjoyed the food and experience there. I love eating hot pot cos I always feel like its super healthy and it's super filling. It was just the two of us and we ordered the twin soup because we like mixing spicy and non for their different flavors.
We order a plate of little lamb, cankong, mushroom and mian noodles. They were all delicious and fresh! Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and they gave complimentary watermelon.
There is a buffet sauce station which costs 3dhs per person and the sign advises you not to waste. Sauces look interesting but since we ordered the spicy soup, we felt we didn't need to add any sauces.
Would definitely go there again with a larger group as it a fun way to eat.
Xiao Wei Yang is a Chinese restaurant specialising in serving hotpot dishes.
I thought I would give them a try, as whilst I'd already found an authentic hotpot place (Liuyishou) that replicates what I had in China, I noticed this had good reviews. I gave them a call and encouragingly they answered in Mandarin, which was enough to indicate that there were Chinese staff and Chinese customers. I tried some of my basic Mandarin, but they were more than happy to speak in a very satisfactory English.
Parking is a bit of a hassle, but if you are prepared to walk about ten minutes, then I suggest looking at the car park opposite the Radisson Blu hotel which has a better chance of spaces in a ridiculously busy area.
The restaurant is very clean and good for a first-timer to this type of cuisine (unlike my favourite Liuyishou which is more run-down).
The menu was clear and they had a separate pictorial menu to accompany the checklist where you tick the dishes you'd like, which was very helpful.
I like to have a twin pot, one spicy and one standard stock, this way I can spice up my meat and have the vegetables and noodles in the standard stock and adjust the spice levels as necessary.
We went for some Chinese Greens, some lamb and beef, mushrooms and noodles. I must say that whilst there are differences in the grades of the lamb and beef and prices, I didn't find the difference to be that much in taste, as once you'd cooked it in the hotpot and dipped it into your dip, the textures weren't too different (it's not like a steak where meat quality is more obvious).
The dipping sauces were chargeable, which I found a touch unreasonable (and another reason I like Liuyishou better) and there was slightly less variety. They combined some ingredients rather than leaving them separate for you to choose (such as the sesame oil, the garlic and others).
The other negative point was that the spicy hotpot wasn't particularly spicy, and didn't use some of the delightful Szechuan peppercorns that are abundant in the Chinese hotpots and give them a very distinctive spicy taste. I requested them and they added it later (to their credit) but their stock didn't quite hit the mark. It didn't taste bad, but it was inferior to what I'd had in China and Dubai.
Where this place does score points, is the hotpot ingredients. I felt that the meat dishes I tried were perfect and delightfully tender and consistent; so much so that I ordered an additional meat dish. The vegetables were fresh and the noodles perfect.
They also had some standard Chinese dishes but I didn't try them, but this may be useful if some members of your party aren't feeling like a hotpot.
The prices were very reasonable for what you get, and the service was fast and responsive.
So in a nutshell - Great quality ingredients, the stock a touch disappointing but a clean and comfortable environment, especially for first-timers.
Haven't even seen that many famous hotpot place in Shanghai or Beijing as much as it's famous here.. Why not - it's an authentic Chinese place where they do serve Chinese dishes but more likely hotpots..
Group of 6 in a self oven table.. Server would come and put a hot pot with some soup and chillies and some dates in it! Then we ordered the soup ingredients like shitake mushroom , fish balls, crab balls button mushrooms chicken strips beef strips .. On the sides there were some green leaves like cabbage and veggies we added them one by one and it was cooking..
It's a non spicy soup with no flavor in it so to add the falavor , you have mix your own sauces.. We took some garlic green chilli in soya paste.. Also red thick chilli and peanut sauce along with some garlic sauce mixed it like a paste and sere individually in our soup bowl!
On the side we also ordered squid stick which was spicy perfectly cooked but not crispy.. But it was amazing!!
Also there was a lamb rib!! Oh oh my!! It was huge and good enough for 6 adults and tasted spicy oily but amazing!!
Staff are friendly to top up the soup in te big pot and they have a huge kitchen and a place to choose ur seat..along with these they have rooms as well but you have to be early to get a room there..
Final verdict :) it's an expedition of food and cooking style!! Loved it and will try again !!
This restaurant is good if you're after Chinese flavours. I particularly love the mushrooms on their steaming hot pot and I never go here without ordering the yummy golden buns. It just takes time to get a seat on peak hours though but all in all, food tastes good.
This is where I go to for hotpot I love the aroma of this place. The only that holds me back is the parking.
Rest the hot pot tastes awesome and is priced well too, the BBQ also tastes pleasant.
After finding Xiao Wei Yang in the Marina, I thought I wouldn't have to travel so far to get my hotpot fix. I was wrong. This location isn't better, but it does have a more authentic feel. Parking can be a hassle, but go to the garage to save yourself a big headache.
This place is virtually the same as the one in the Marina except they have a few more items (chrysanthemum), and their condiments section is better. They have the Taiwanese BBQ sauce I like. Taste-wise, there's no difference in the broth and the food. The service is lightning fast, but it can get extremely busy if you don't hit it right.
Both locations are great, so you're not missing out too much by choosing either location.
Reasonable price with Chinese & English menu as well as picture menu. Though staff can't speak much english, they are nice & helpful. They will ask you to stop ordering if portion is too much to finish. Once I went there alone, staff offered half portion of each dish n charged me half price only. I was very impressed.
Try twin soup pot if you can handle hot & spicy soup. Avoid ordering the sets on menu. Better order what you really want. Yellow crab balls are yummy. They are like xiao long bao and you could feel soup inside when biting.
Take a bowl and go mix dipping as you like. There are many types of sauce and seasonings so just try until you find the right one. If you have no idea as english is not clear on labels, just take peanut sauce as it seems safest.
Have red tea can of wang lao ji coz it helps cool you down from very hot pot. Free water.
Great little hole-in-the-wall. Food is delicious. The crabs are the best thing about this place. the service is pretty terrible, but i didn't expect too much. The place isn't the cleanest looking, but not distractingly bad. Definitely coming back. The JBR location didn't have the crabs, which is why i drive all the way to Deira for this.
Enjoy ?
Finally authentic Chinese. I was craving for hotpot and then I discovered this place. There is a slight language barrier as everyone here speaks Mandarin. We ordered the set 3 in the menu. It comes with 2 soups, brown which is less spicy and white which is more spicy. It also comes with crab balls, shrimp balls, a plate of fresh beef salami, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, a few leafy vegetables, 2 bowls of steamed rice and a big bottle of cola. The waitress then helped us and got additional sauses. One was spicy and one was normal. We added steamed tofu to the set at an additional cost. We then held on to our chopsticks all set to relish our meal. And the food was so flavorful. I'm a huge fan of Asian cusine and this place didn't fail to impress me. The service was quick and the ambiance was good. We were the only Indian people there. Loved the experience and the food. Would go back!
Hi guys this authentic chinese ! My reason to give 3.5 is not because food was not good it was great expirience :) but i felt personally they didnt like me and my friends in there reasturants as we all were indians but there was one female who served us well :) food is wow i had was vegetables fresh tofu and many more it tastes good :)
I love shabu shabu.. and this restaurant is a must-try if you're craving for authentic Chinese. We ordered their set menu #3 or #4 and found it good enough for 3-4 persons. I loved the food but it's definitely not for vegetarians. I won't recommend you sampling this place if you're heading out to a party afterwards unless you don't mind smelling like the spices of what you ate (which is usual for every authentic Chinese restaurant). And try to "audit" your bill to ensure that you're paying for what you had only. Overall, a satisfactory dining experience!
just dont go visit this Mongolian restaurant on winter season, or during rainy day. As the restaurant will overflow with guest, and i even experiencing long queue, out in the cold. the place here is quite small eventhough they have both ground floor and mezzanine floor operated. long queuing is simply the first challenge if you coming in the wrong time.
parking space is another challenge here. since they don't have parking lot, you're forced to use RTA parking lot opposite of the busy restaurant, which is always full. last time we visited the place, we had to walk several blocks due to poor parking spot.
the food itself looks quite appetizing, but the taste is not amazing. they put almost everything in the pot. including longans and dates! i dont even know if there is dates in mongolia.... the other challenge is, when speaking to the waiter. you got to repeat your words many times... go figure.
come back again to this place? maybe....yes, as its value for money. but maybe....no, because you don't want challenge when you're starving ;)
We usually visit the international city location which is much bigger and newer but decided to go the the original hotpot. The parking was a little difficult but finally figured out that there is a huge parking building That is right behind the restaurant;). We ordered a half side spicy broth and half side non spicy. This is definitely not a restaurant to visit if you are a vegetarian.... We ordered spicy prawns ( yummy. They cook them with potatoes some vegetables and an unknown to me item. But whatever it was it just heightened all the deliciousness of the prawns). We also ordered a lot of meat , seafood and vegetables which you are meant to cook in the broth of your choice. You also get to mix your own dipping sauce with a variety of options such as garlic, chilli oil, tahini , peanut, and let's not forget the freshly chopped coriander...it takes some practice to make the prefect sauce to your taste but once you have the combination down it's amazing! Hotpot is an amazing concept of sharing food and I believe the joint cooking and eating process just helps bring all the tables occupants to a relaxed mood. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the scallion pancake as it is too doughy and not enough flavor of the onions.
Had been there for the first time ever with colleagues! Found only the shabu shabu interesting and exciting! It tasted ok. I think they should hire more waitresses as the ones present looks very stressed and tired. The price factor is the killing one, this restaurant is definitely overly priced.

My earlier rating for this restaurant was only 4, but now, I am giving it a perfect 5. Why?
Recently, me and my sister ventured along Deira creek and were lucky to have this restaurant, on a Friday, open for lunch. We have their Meal Set 1 and it was a very good portion of soup, vegetables, some seafood balls and shrimp and meat. Cost was only AED 92 and at the end, you can even get a free platter of watermelons.
On to my earlier experience with this restaurant...
It was one cold night few years back when we decided to have some hot pot. Wei Yang is the perfect place as we get to enjoy the authentic Chinese hot pot.
To foodies who have never experience a hot pot still, try this one out as you get the thrill of cooking your own food (vegetables, dimsum, beef, chicken) and make your own sauce as well. Do not forget to grab a cool water as their spicy hotpot is really spicy.
Do not mind the queue because it is worth the wait.
This is what experiential eating is all about especially for those who get initiated into hotpot eating. Serves food in tow hotpots one spicy and other regular. Meat / mushrooms / veggies finely sliced and ready to dip and eat in the hot broth. Great place for children. Make your own sauce. And eat to your hearts content. Pocket friendly.
For my taste, this is a superb chinese hot pot. I am not a big fan of lamb but they did it very nicely. Staffs barely speaks English bring an addition that you are exactly in China :D
Something different dan the usual chinese around town.
The food is very tasty! Better to either book a table, else be prepared to wait for half an hour or so but its worth the wait..the lamb satay is awesome and the chinese soft drink is very refreshing. ..service is very average and place is a bit congested...parking is an issue...
This is one of those places that is so good, you don't tell anybody about. If you love Shabu Shabu, you will love this place. If not, I would go with someone who has had it before. Shabu Shabu was one of my favorite foods in Boston and Xiao Wei Yang is one of the few places that has it in the UAE.
One of the best restaurant experience I ever had, the place was crowded had to wait for 45 min (cant complain because it is not their fault), service was OK, it was pricey but the Food was excellent (Spicy prawn was exquisite) and the hot pot experience is above all the hot pot restaurant in UAE.
I am having very hard time refraining myself from giving this restaurant a rating 5!
A non-enthusiast of authentic Chinese cuisine turned a fan of it is what can explain a bit about how I feel about Chinese hotpot. When I first heard about dipping raw foods in a bowl of boiling broth on your table and having it right away, it didn’t particularly hit the string inside of me. But, thanks to my friend for the push I can indulge myself in hotpot a lot now if not always.
Having situated in a very busy surrounding finding a parking might be an issue if you’re driving. It’s very likely to see a long que during the weekends.
I will start with the broth. From the two kinds of broth they offer the spicy one is the best. Balanced use of spices is what makes it my favorite unlike other hotpot restaurants which ends up spoiling the whole experience sometimes.
Xiao Wei Yang has the maximum variety in their menu among them all and I can be very particular about this since I have visited almost all the authentic hotpot places in Dubai. The choice ranges from a decent variety of sea food to staple foods.
For hotpots the Chinese prefer red meat over white meat. The reason being, when the chicken breast slices are dipped into the hotpot it becomes very dry. But, I always have chicken breast in my order and it works just fine when dipped into the special sauce. Sea foods and lots of fresh vegetables are in must try list for any hotpot but the smell of raw grouper may be a bit unpleasant so I wouldn’t recommend that. Chinese herbal tea can be coupled with the hotpot if strong herbal essence is not an issue but a safe choice would be just ice tea.
However, the choice of ingredients for the special sauce to dip in the food is limited in Xiao Wei Yang hotpot. The smell of different kind of food boiling close by might sometime be uncomforting since the place is a bit congested.
Trying hotpot in Xiao Wei Yang is the safest choice anyone can make even those who are trying to stick to a healthy diet. Although the traditional way of having hotpot is to not have the broth because that fills the stomach but I’d highly recommend to ask for an extra bowl from the servers to try out the broth because the mix of flavors from all the foods dipped into it makes it unparalleled to any soup you’ll ever try.
Having visited almost all the traditional Chinese / Mongolian hotpot restaurants in Dubai, this is far most the best and my most favorite that my friend and I have ever been to so far.
In other words, we are one of the regular customers of Xiao Wei Yang's Deira branch and we love it so much that we always make sure to that visit this restaurant as many as 4-5 times a month.
We love spicy food and hence we always order the small bowl of hot and spicy hotpot since it is usually adequate for two persons. Along with it, we usually go for their fresh spinach, mushroom and chicken breast pieces. Sometimes when we are too hungry, we also include the crab meat ball.
The best thing I like about this restaurant is the soup broth is perfect and unlike other hotpot restaurant, you wouldn't feel the taste of too much of spices which usually may spoil your taste.
The service is quite good compared to the other hotpot restaurants and being a regular, the servers usually know our requirement which is definitely an added point for us.
The drawback that I find is that the sauces are limited compared to other hotpot restaurants and if you visit them on weekend evenings, you are bound to face a long queue.
Other than that, it is a near perfect hotpot restaurant that offer traditional Chinese / Mongolian cuisine and their menu is quite versatile compared to other hotpot restaurants in Dubai and offers pictures of the dishes too.
You may also try their beef and mutton or their fried food but for us, we usually stick to chicken breast and the food mentioned above as we try to keep our meal a clean and healthy one.
I would definitely recommend you to go and experience this traditional hotpot cuisine at this restaurant's Deira branch.
Dubai is a home to a considerable number of restaurants. These restaurants; Much of the time you'd take no special note, yet some of the time you would take a very special note. Xiao Wei Yang Hotpot is one of the seldom times, you would stop and relish in not only delicious sumptuous authentic Chinese cuisine, but also dive into the overall experience.
For those avoiding the wall of text - I write a short review before diving into the culinary experience that sits in the soul of Old Deira.
Food: 9/10 | I recommend ordering the half spicy half sweet hot pot broth - Chicken Wings / Spicy plate of shrimp / Shredded Beef / Shredded Lamb / Beef dumplings / Chinese Black Mushrooms /
Service: 2/10 (If you do not speak Manadarin / Cantonese) | Service: 9/10 (If you do)
Ambiance: 3/10
The restaurant is right after the Twin Towers in Deira and sits facing the inner road that looks upon the creek. Be prepared to make a few rounds to find parking, though there are two parking lots facing the restaurant. The restaurant itself consists of two floors with glass windows. Upon entering the restaurant my first sight was to see a wad of cash being lowered from the 2nd floor the reception on the first floor. Apparently they were busy enough to not warrant wasting time to walk down the stairs. There are about eight tables on the bottom floor and nine tables on the top floor which includes a private space for ten people.
The only person that I've found to speak English, after three visits, is the main receptionist. Past that point, you must abandon all verbal forms of communication and resort to grunting, pointing and caveman sign language. "Me hungry, you want to eat? What.good.here?" Either that or I suggest you make a quick purchase of a mandarin to English dictionary. Though, I must point out that though you might have trouble conveying your thoughts - the waitresses will have no problem understanding you, recommending items and will get what you request with as little delay as possible.
The first thing you should select is the actual hotpot and I would recommend getting a mixture of spicy and sweet broth. Then, ordering a list of whatever items, both 'cooked' and 'to be cooked', that tickle your fancy. You could easily go through the whole experience with trying only their 'cooked' items. Though the primary purpose of the hotpot is to cook some of the items yourself.
The shredded lamb and beef with the hot spicy broth are products of successful marriage between deliciousness and juiciness. You couldn't possibly go wrong here. If you would also choose the fish balls or dumplings I would bring to your attention the mixed spices cart that you would see. These carts contain an assortment of soya sauce, salt, pepper, cream, nuts, chili, vegetables and an assortment of other Chinese herbs and spices. If you find yourself too troubled to experiment a new sensation, you could point towards the cart with the attention of a waiter and grunt your way into a few bowls of an oriental surprise.
Making a trip down to Xiao Wei Yang is an adventure. Be open to new things and throw away unnecessary expectations. Go with a group of your friends and be prepared to be surprised. THIS! is a restaurant that will not fail, to give you a memorable experience. They will have you crawling out today, to have you run back in tomorrow.
Living to Eat & Eating to Live.
For me this restaurant will always be one of my favorites. I love its authenticity. A lot of Chinese people frequent this place this means you can never go wrong. For appetizer, i like having their golden bun. Freshly fried bread and condensed milk as a dip is like party in my mouth. Their soup is my energy booster, i like to mix it with peanut butter. My friends and i always enjoy dining here as the price is affordable. Added bonus is it is near the abra station so after a satisfying meal a walk outside would be perfect especially during winter.
I don't know why this shabu shabu place only got a score of 3.0 maybe because of the price?
Xiao Wei Yang is my safe haven. When work stress comes, this is the place I always run to with my friends. You can stay here for hours just enjoying the company of your friends, the chinese herbal tea and the hotpot. The spicy broth is my favorite! Unlike other shabu shabu places in Dubai, here you don't make your own broth. They served it ready to be devoured with all the meal staples. The place is made for friends to dine at because its impossible to eat shabu shabu alone because 1) it can be expensive and 2) its boring.
For meat they have chicken, beef and lamb cuts. Seafood and fresh veggies they have there as well! Try their fish tofu - its to die for!
I hope someone reads this review and gives Xiao Wei Yang a try and share their experience here :)
