This petite cozy Balkan bistro is at great location, just a few footsteps from Umm Suqeim beach. As I entered the place I was welcomed by friendly stuff. They have wonderful setting area where every little detail is made to make you feel as relaxed as possible. From almost every table you have a magnificent view of baristas preparing all types of coffees. But the thing that makes this restaurant more special is food. Their delicious warm Balkan-taste food. Burek, Chicken liver pate, Dalmatian Pasticada with a home-made gnocchi, Chocolate hazelnut baklava are my favorites and there is so much more.
So I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves exquisite flavors and wonderful dining experience. Well done to all of you!!!
I would recommend this cozy place for a lot of things-nice staff with just the right amount of attentiveness, that feels natural and spontaneous, tasty food that makes one feel like eating at home, excellent tasting coffee, but the last thing I’ve tried and discovered there were poached eggs in red relish sauce, light yet filling breakfast accompanied with freshly baked bread.Such a perfect home tasting breakfast option!Looking forward to discover more!
Fanrastic place, amazing good and very professional and polite staff. A must visit place, especially if you want to try some high quality food from Balkan's
Love on first sightAmazing hospitality, great food, Moussaka is the best I ever tried. Love the idea for water bottles. All in all feels like home...
The most amazing team runs 21grams! They're just so kind and attentive and creative, just the right mix for the perfect ambiance. Superb customer service + the best Mediterranean food makes you want to come back over and over again to this li'l bistro!

The best meal I had so far in Dubai! Couldn’t speak more highly about the food or the staff! Bas kao kod kuće
The coffee and walnut strudl was the best idea we ever had.
Also the staff was so pleasant and service amaizing, our waitress was so nice.
Never had this experience in Dubai.
Definitely coming back !
Amazing ambiance, delicious food, outstanding staff. Piece of home in Dubai
I thought I knew balkan food... oh how wrong I was! 21grams redefined completely my view on cevapi, bouyourdi, chicken liver pate, tufahije and so many other balkan dishes! How can I go back to balkans now?? 21grams gave me hope that food can be so much more: tastes and flavours that excite and sooth you at the same time, at a new level of quality and love. All 21 grams of my soul are at their happiest! Please 21grams, come to balkans to teach (remind?) us of the true essence of our food.
Super cosy place with great slavic food!
Love it! Cozy and feels like home, oh and the infused water is spot on 😍
Nice place, very cossy friendly staff.. love it
Amazing food friendly people all around I felt like home! thank you
Muy, muy, muy bien!!!
Bravoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The coffee is amazing, the cold brew is heaven sent!
Been wanting to visit 21 grams for a long time and we finally made it yesterday. We only managed breakfast there as we were not so sure how it was going to turn out. Turned out pretty great in fact. We tried whatever the nice lady suggested, they were all great - burek, ustipci, eggs, cherry pie, hot chocolate. Can’t wait to get back in for some lunch.
Never tried any Balkan dish before and glad we went here for a late breakfast.
Small cafe style - relaxed vibe.
We order the poached egg on peppers and tomato (forgot the name) was SUPER delicious and full of flavour.
Though I thought the 2 Rashes of beef bacon was in the slight pricey side.
Then we also ordered the Big Balkan Breakfast, that too was great, and loved the cheese/jam combination and the cheese pastry pie.
Will definitely return to explore their lunch menu. Great spot to be doing off site computer work/study.
Went here long time back for lunch.
Firstly, the atmosphere there is just super calming. The whole set up makes you feel like you're dining inside your own living room.
The staffs are very attentive and friendly. We got a few of their dishes. I fell in love with their Lamb Shank and Chocolate Baklava. Some mind blowing dishes. Especially the lamb considering how simple it is. The drinks were delicious and refreshing as well.
Highly highly recommend this place!
One of my favorite places overall, whether for a family outing, a coffee with friends, or to do a bit of work.
What a venue!
Simple, bright, full of positive energy! It is traveling you to Europe.
Food is just one of the best I ever tried in Dubai! You can feel the love and how much they care for the goods they are using.
Coffee as well! Amazing selection and well executed!
Service is an add value in this venue as well!
Try their breakfast bureks / pies which are coming with homemade fylo and they are served till 12pm.
Really worths visiting and even waking up early to catch the pies!
21 grams is a place which has it all, ambience, location, friendly staff, and delicious Serbian food. Located near kite beach, nice place to catch up friends. Their salad, soups and main course are just amazing. I have been their couple of times and this place never disappoints me.
Great food. Nice location. Recommended for a meeting. If you are around and need good place to hang out and have good coffee this place has it all. Ambience is cozy and recommended for couples too. Enjoy talking!
Balkan soul food
Am so in love with this place because it’s bringing me back to my homeland with the flavors and taste.
The Komplet Lepinja is a Must Try! The staff are super attentive and friendly.
Looking forward to go back!
Cozy and perfect , usually go there to finish my work 💻 read a book or come around with friends . I also love the service and the staff working there are always so sweet and they know how to make my perfect flat white

We all love places with a soul, places that keep up with their roots as much as loving their current homes.
21 Grams is just a perfect example. I have been to 21Grams quite late despite many recommendations but the authentic Balkan experience is amazing; they truly deliver it through their concept and ambiance, the staff and of course through the taste of their food. Having gone there only for breakfast, we nearly spent whole day here.
I ordered Balkan breakfast plate and burek with minced meat. Balkan breakfast includes baked eggs in tomato and pepper relish, beef sausages and feta cheese. Eggs taste great with an optimal taste of tomato, pepper and onions. Beef sausages are spicy and flavorful. Burek was fresh and delicious.
Then we went on with coffee and desserts and ordered their traditional Serbian sponge cake. It was a light yet tasteful choice.
Ambiance, great food and great service. Staff was exceptionally hospitable. They thanked us in our native language; we thanked them in their native language. What else can you expect from a restaurant!
21 Grams is highly recommended. I’m looking forward to the next visit for lunch or dinner.

Quaint little join with really good food and excellent service! The baked feta appetizer is good. Really enjoyed the main courses as well and the chocolate baklava. Would love to try the coffee next visit!
This place is an absolute gem on all accounts: ambience, staff, food, and overall experience. Stasha and her lovely staff were an absolute DELIGHT - so kind and friendly, which really added to the visit. The food was out of this world delicious and authentic; you felt like you were sitting in a restaurant somewhere in Serbia or Croatia. Highly recommend this place for a great cup of coffee, delicious breakfast/lunch, and mouthwatering dessert.
pro:
very good food
Nice interiors
Knowledgeable staff
Good value for money
Cons: none!
I choose this place because I have heard many good recommendations from my Balkan friends and they were right. I discovered here the Balkan cuisine, new to me. This is a small and cosy restaurant with very well curated interiors and details.
We had mezze to start with, we ordered various ones: white beans hummus, shopska salad, roasted pepper and eggplants, ajvar. They were all very good but my favourite was Ajvar.
What I have learnt in this experience is that Balkan cuisine use a lot of of peppers...
As main I took Pijeskavica, I let myself get inspired by the yummy picture on the menu and I really loved my choice. The meat was fantastic.
Overall it was a very great experience and I will definitely go back again. The staff is friendly and available to help with suggestions.
This is a must try little hidden Balkan restaurant in Dubai - the name 21g being the theoretical weight of the human soul - which is fitting as this is truly "soul" food.. Or traditional comfort Balkan food but with a slight twist to lift it up.
Dishes were delicious but for me the Dalmatian Pasticada stole the show (slow cooked beef stew with the home made gnocchi). The other special mention has to be the potato pie that hit the spot perfectly.
The service from Stasha {owner but also Chief Soul kitchen Officer} and her team was outstanding and couldn't be faulted.

One of our favourite places to go to for breakfast, lunch, dinner, a coffee, a pastry... Everything served is super delicious, and made beautifully with high quality ingredients. The management and service are absolutely wonderful! Truly a place full of heart.
We decided that all of us wanted to try something new ... And so we headed to 21 grams... The place is really cute, has a great feel to it and everything had some thought behind it! From the books that were there to the single fruit on each table was simply refreshing and welcoming! We had the salad and mezze for starters which comes with their amazing bread and sauces (the chicken liver with cherry is too die for) ... Simply yummy. Easily the tastiest fresh bread we had (we took ours back with us) ! For the mains we decided to have chicken schnitzel , wagyu patty with the bacon, pasta with mushrooms, dalmation patticada which was the pulled beef.... All i have to say is that it was AMAZING! Each dish was presented beautifully... Lots of thought and soul! Will definitely go back.... Their breakfast menu is begging to be sampled! Go feed your soul with some truly soulful food.
We had read reviews of this place and decided to have breakfast here today . Nice cute place with great service. Did you know 21 grams is the weight of a soul hence the name ? I ordered the mushroom omlette and Haniya had waffles . Both were great.
Super authentic place, very fresh & delicious food
Amazing staff
Place over all gives you ''feeling like at home'' vibes
the only thing I wish cappuccino mugs could be bigger ;)
Stopped by for a casual early Friday night dinner.
21 grams a small and cosy “bistro” located on Jumeirah beach road.
They serve ‘Balkan’ food- the Balkans is roughly defined as the area in Southeastern Europe that currently that includes Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia.
We ordered the soup of the day (Celery), Wagyu Cevapi, and Dalmatian Pesticada.
All three dishes tasted delicious, and clearly made from high-quality ingredients.
I hope to see more authentic home-grown concepts in the city.
Small cafe and yet so cozy. We came here for breakfast and the food didn’t disappoint. We ordered Granny’s waffles, most delicious waffles I’ve tried so far, and Balkan breakfast, loved the spiciness in the sausages. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bistro has few sittings so try to come early as it gets busy very fast. Worth coming.
Warm and welcoming, yet modern/cosmopolitan atmosphere. Hearty Balkan food with a twist. Polite and knowledgeable staff. A must to visit in Dubai!
My favorite- pljeskavica with shopska + Turkish coffee and baklava.
When they talk about hidden gems I never thought it would be that hard to find the entry to this Balkan Cafe. I got dropped off by taxi and walked past the hotel entrance assuming the cafe had it’s own entrance only to not find one and walk back inside the hotel to then find the entrance to the right as i entered. Oops. Lucky I was early so my friend didn’t witness my clumsiness.

cosy place . nice photo and great coffee . the place is too small though so in busy hours you may not find a table . staff were so friendly and polite
21 Grams is definitely one of Dubai's hidden gems. I love coming here for having a meal, or even for a quick bite and coffee. The ambience is very cosy and calm, the staff is very friendly and provide a great service. As for the food, I had a couple of different experiences, it was mostly great - except for once when the food was really salty -, the dishes remind me of home cooked meals but with much better presentations. I recommend trying the following:
- Baked goods, Burek cheese and Burek meat is a must try.
- Mezze, Roasted pepper and eggplant, Shopska Salad and Bouyourdie which is baked feta cheese with tomato, pepper, with olive oil and oregano - this is one of the best dishes I strongly recommend.
- Mains, Oven baked seabass, breaded chicken schnitzel and summer zucchini moussaka, this is also another dish I strongly recommend to try out.
- Dessert, Red fruit milk cake, elderflower ice cream and caramelised rice pudding. I have also tried the chocolate hazelnut baklava, but it was too dense and heavy.
My first experience was great, the second one, as mentioned before the food was really salty. So I had to give it another go, as I really liked the place and my experience the first time and thank god I did because all was amazing again :)
Went to 21 grams for lunch with a few friends. Small, cosy place, well lit, with a bunch of food centric books for you to browse through - many focusing on the Balkan area. This, along with the music really gave it a nice vibe, and added to the whole atmosphere. The food was great (though I can't remember or pronounce any of their names), well presented, and we staggered out after a satisfying set of starters, main courses and desert. Would recommend without reservations!! And in case you're wondering.. 21 grams is supposed to be the weight of your soul.
Balkan food. Quite an uncommon occurrence in Dubai and pretty much unheard of at least to those of us (or most of us) not from the Balkans. Before we get into this review, a little bit about the Peninsula. The Balkans peninsula is the South Eastern region of Europe and comprises of countries including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Kosovo, parts of Greece and Turkey amongst many others. Needless to say, the peninsula has a rich cuisine that we were only too eager to discover at our tasting. Housed at the cozy Park Regis Boutique Jumeirah Hotel next to the Umm Suqeim park and beach, 21 Grams is the brainchild of its Serbian owner, Stasha, who wanted to bring forth the food and memories from her childhood and the region she belongs to. Nestled within the pretty little hotel is the bright and airy 21 grams that is adorned with minimalist yet vivid wall mounts and boasts of warm shades across the comfortable space. The servers are predominantly from the Balkans and so you get to understand the menu even better when chatting with them. Before picking dishes, we were served the House water (recommended for its beauty) and was it a colorful sight for sore eyes! Moving on, here is everything we had:
5* cooking at a pocket friendly price. This is the restaurant I have visited the most this year! The dishes are interesting and different to anything else you’ll find in Dubai.
Highlights are the spring salad, octopus, seafood linguine, sea bass, moussaka, clotted cream and pate. I didn’t enjoy the beef dishes as much but that’s a personal preference.
Highly recommended for breakfast or lunch. Service is great, too.
Pro tip: take a jacket, it’s cold in there!
This Balkan bistro located right next to the beach is sure to make you go wow with its minimalist yet chic decor.
By Balkan we mean Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and their neighbouring countries. Before you think that Balkan food is all about Potatoes And Steak, let me tell you it's not! Although yes once you visit decide to try the food you should try Potato and Steak! Lol
Ambiance-
Straight out of some magazine, you want to grab a book (or may be write one!) Or sit in a corner and admire the decor. Very chic, has a calm and cozy theme.
Food-
Food is good, plenty of options to choose from. Menu does feature more familiar sounding dishes such as crispy skin chicken thighs, grilled beef, etc. but I would suggest you order the dishes you don’t recognise!
Hospitality-
3.5/5
Overall-
Definitely worth a visit! If not for the food then atleast for the sake of some good Insta worthy clicks!
Visited this lovely little quaint hidden bistro after reading multiple positive reviews. The decor is very soothing and pleasant, immediately making you feel cosy enough to enjoy your afternoon lunch.
I'm not too familiar with Balkan food but heard it had plenty of similarities to Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with quite a lot of focus on meat and cheese. The service was on point and the server when asked for suggestions, immediately suggested the Bouyourdie, akin to the Grilled Greek feta cheese with tomato and peppers. It was simply divine, the cheese texture being creamy and delicious!!
The other suggestion was Cevapi (beef kebabs) with some spicy cheese mezze Urnebes on the side. The kebabs, though ordinary in presentation, were succulent and with regular fresh bread helpings, tantalized the taste buds well!! Though there was no space for dessert, it was enough to convince me for a revisit!!
The owner and staff are extremely friendly and open to suggestions. While parting they were kind enough to give away an absolutely perfect (discovered it later after I gobbled it at home) piece of Walnut Strudel.
Overall, I'll be back!!
Great ambience , the products and dishes offered here are truly excellent. The best thing about this place is its calm and pleasant atmosphere which makes the dining experience more enjoyable.
I went few days ago to 21 grams, the Urban Balkan Bistro located in Park Regis Boutique Hotel Jumeirah on Jumeirah Beach Road. 21 grams is a very cozy bistro. The decoration is simple. I liked it a lot, it remembered me the small bistros that you can find in the villages of the Cote d’Azur in France.
The grilled wagyu beef cevapi and peach & honey smoothie are highly recommended!
Cozy little place at the corner, with really cool decor
Definitely worth a visit
Nicely designed place. Warm greeting by staff. I had the Balkan breakfast and an Americano. The breakfast was delicious and service was perfect. I’d come here again for a quiet morning enjoying the calm atmosphere it provides.
Wow such a nice a octopus! And the carrot pure so wammy. Will definitely come back again soon. Could have a bit more light inside though, but thats just a minor. Great minimalistic decor.
Best place in Dubai to get a modern interpretation of traditional Balkan dishes. Very delicious. Perfect presentation. Great service. Tried it for the first time due to good reviews I read everywhere. I’m totally confirming the great ratings this restaurant has. It’s a well deserved good rating!
Loved this place! Food was absolutely delicious and creative, service was very professional and the decoration of the place is stunning (mix of Balkan and Nordic). Definitely coming back!

Wanted some slightly unique and good food, so we tried goad place. Here is how it worked out. . . although I can't remember the names, so please bear with me:
Food:
Chicken Thighs - very nice and juicy with a good portion size and decent seasoning
Meat Cutlets - rather good as they were nice and most with tasty seasoning
Beef Stew - not what I expected, but also delicious. Thick and a bit creamy with good flavor
Seafood Pasta - not very good as the seafood was slightly rubbery and the sauce just tasted strongly of only tomato
Desserts - I don't feel like listing them all out but most were nice while the cheesecake was not very good
Service: the servers were very nice with their dry humor while being quick
Ambiance: open and inviting with only a small amount of seating
Bang for Buck: slightly over priced
So this place was mostly very good with minor caveats.
Very nice concept very different as a foodie from dubai. It’s great to see such original concepts this restaurant brings you food from the Balkan region.
The region is new to me as the food has never been advertised at least in our part, I would say it’s a blend of Arabic and European style of cooking similar to the Greeks but it defienetly has its in touch.
I went a few times and wonderful dishes for breakfast I have the eggs and tomatoes similar to a shakshoka or we locals call it eggs and tomato’s.
For lunch I had a few items from the Kabab to seabass to the lamb stew .
The bakalawa is fantastic as well.
Overall a very good resturant probably they need to do a dish of the week or the day, as I live close to it and have almost tried most of the menu, therefore I would like to try new dishes from there region !
Visited 21 grams café for breakfast. Heard really nice things about the place and decided to try it. The place turned out to be a traditional Balkans café with their own Bedouin Balkans chef too!
As you enter the café, the place is very comfy and welcoming, it gives you a bit of a homey vibe. The staff were very polite and helpful in making nice recommendation of what to order for breakfast. I ended up ordering the breakfast polenta which had a smooth and silky texture to it, garnished with crispy chopped bacon, goats’ cheese and black truffles. It was my first-time having polenta for breakfast and it was amazing, I really didn’t expect that it’ll be that good.
The hostess also recommended to order the sour cherry and apple juice which is free of any additives and sugar and she even betted that ill like and I did #LOL. After breakfast I was still not that full as their portions weren’t that big, so we ordered the chocolate hazelnut baklava which was delicious with a side of vanilla ice cream. The baklava was perfectly soft and moist, the vanilla ice cream paired with it was heavenly.
I would definitely come back to try their food again but maybe for lunch as they have a wide variety of foods.

Yes I do! is what I said when my friends asked don't you want to come back already ;)
21 grams has been on my list for such a long time now and I am glad I did. It was a pretty unconventional Eid Lunch plan and it doesn't get any better i suppose.
For the first time in life I kept staring at the menu for good 10 minutes not because i was not sure what I like but because I loved everything I saw and I couldn't pick just one. Luckily for us we were 4 of us so we got to sample a good variety and everything we ordered was just amazing to me.
We ended up trying Crispy Skin Chicken Thighs with green pea puree, Dalmatian Pasticada (Slow cooked beef stew with apple and prunes), Slow cooked Lamb in Milk and Seafood Tagliatelle for mains and they were all amazing.
For desserts we tried the Forrest Berry Cheesecake (which wasn't exactly a cheesecake), Chocolate Baklava, Princess Doughnut and Caramelized Rice Pudding all of which were all a 3/5 for me.
For drinks we ordered the house infused water with berries, pomegranate, orange and rosemary which looked so pretty and plenty for a table of 4. We also ordered Hibiscus Iced Tea and I have been obsessing over it ever since.
I cant stress enough on how pretty this place is and the service was one of the best I've experienced in Dubai. The smell of the coffee was amazing but alas i was too stuffed to eat any further so I guess that will be my excuse to come back.
Enjoy a Balkan experience? 21 Grams !
Everything is exceptional in this place : Music, design, the smell.. everything!
I recommend all the items but especially Their Ice-cream !! Please try it !!! 💕💕
21 Grams is an amazing little Balkan bistro in Umm Suqeim. Located in the Park Regis Boutique Hotel on the corner of Jumeirah Beach and Al Thanya roads, its interior is a refreshing exercise in elegant, unpretentious minimalism (so lacking in Dubai these days). The soul food served at 21 Grams is, as described by themselves, a modern execution of traditional Balkan recipes. It is nothing less than sensational.
Absolutely lovely and cosy place for a brekkie. It’s a Balkan look about it, the owner is absolutely lovely to talk to. And we had poached eggs, polenta, chicken soup, phyllo pies, lots of coffee and highly popular Balkan chocolate baklava and elder flower ice-cream. Super!
Food from the Balkans is something that we haven't really had much of! So we were quite intrigued to see what would be in store for us at our recent tasting. (The Balkans Peninsula comprises of countries like Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and many more places) and needless to say, food from the region is very diverse. The beautiful, airy space is decked out in lovely, minimalist paintings and most of the staff hail from the Peninsula itself so we were able to better understand the food, drink and dessert when chatting with them. We ate a variety of pretty food but my absolute favorites from the lot were:
- Chicken Liver Pate
- Bouyourdie
(both paired with the freshly baked bread)
The Lamb in Milk
Oven-baked sea bass
We tried the chocolate hazelnut baklava and Elderflower ice cream and the latter was a proper treat to the senses! Such a fresh flavor, we wanted to turn it into a milkshake!
Overall, 21 Grams and its uniqueness in all aspects gets a big YAY from us!

“21 GRAMS, the weight of a human soul. 21 degrees, the latitude of the Balkan Peninsula.”. 21 Grams is the (relatively) new Balkan Bistro located in Jumeirah which is grabbing the attention of bloggers and Instagrammers all over Dubai for its uniqueness. The restaurant is small and unassuming. With urban concrete floors contrasting with Balkan rugs, dusty pink and orange sofas and rustic furniture; it’s minimalist, chic and very peaceful.
21 grams essentially serves food from different parts of the Balkan region, covering mountains, villages, cities of Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, north of Greece, etc. Hence, their menu is super fascinating and unique to Dubai!
Mezze: The Bouyourdie (i.e. Baked Feta with tomato, pepper, and olive oil) and White Bean Paprika Hummus topped the list for me, as they are classics and you just can't go wrong with it! If you're a fan of Chicken Liver, you must try the Chicken Liver Pate that comes with pear puree and has the perfect texture.
Salad: The Spring Salad has several mini lettuce loaded individually with mint, peas, cucumber, radish, goat cheese and most importantly Elderflower dressing that gives this salad that exquisite twist.
Mains: The Lamb with Horseradish Sauce and Poached Apple, Oven Baked Sea Bass, Gnocchi, and Sarma (i.e. sour cabbage rolls stuffed with ground beef and sour cream) are truly unique and beyond flavorful.
Desserts: I strongly recommend the Chocolate Baklava with Ice-cream, that uses rich dark chocolate with a tinge of orange zest + cinnamon, and hazelnuts and walnuts that give this dessert that decadent crunch. The Elderflower Ice-cream is an acquired taste but it's a refreshing take for a dessert menu. The Berry Milkcake was airy and delicious but needed to be more moist and milky for a milkcake.
Drinks: I'm so glad I got around trying the Rose Hot Chocolate as I've never tried such a unique combination before. The Berry Smoothie is berry-licious and refreshing!
The food feels light, fresh and organic. Hence, they derive their name from the fact that the weight of a human soul is 21 grams, and they pride themselves on offering "soul food"

21 Grams is conveniently placed near loss of parking and towards Umm Sequim park and the beach. The decor is modern, minimalist but striking in that it straddles industrial style flooring with soft accents with carpets and mid century modern furniture.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Service is warm, friendly and knowledgable about the menu, it’s purpose etc.
- Cold Brew is super smooth, not bitter and did not need any sugar syrup
- Sour Cherry & Apple juice is stunning - a must try (but I love sour cherries anyway)
- Quiet: it’s super peaceful here, almost like a Library but in a good way
- WiFi from the hotel is fast
- Poached Eggs Pindjur is delicious with PERFECTLY POACHED EGGS, absolute precision. The tomato pepper pindjur ragu is slightly spicy but rich and competes with the creamy egg yolks. The sides of fresh bread is chewy and delicious.
- Cheese Borek is absolute comfort food, I took a slice for takeaway.
The portion sizes are also slightly modest or, put differently, it’s not gargantuan like you get in some other breakfast places. There’s a conscious focus here on quality over quantity which I admire and appreciate. It keeps a lasting personable feel.
LOWLIGHTS:
- NONE.
I will definitely come back again for a dinner or lunch sitting.
#breakfast #coldbrew #coffee #borek #jumeirah
Such a lovely hidden gem. A cute & cozy space with great food & friendly staff. I would recommend having their fresh squeezed orange juice w/ the free range egg on homemade flat bread, yum!
Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening for Iftar with a friend. This quaint and cozy restaurant serves some spectacular dishes from the Balkans.
We tried the iftar special which allows you to choose 1 main and 1 dessert from the regular menu and is very reasonably priced given the setting and quality of food.
I ordered the Cevapi, which is similar to a kebab and is a very popular Serbian dish. The difference at 21 grams is that it is made with Wagyu beef which definitely makes the difference. It was super tender and full of flavor. For dessert, I was eyeing the elderflower ice cream, alas, they had run out of it. I opted for the Princess Donut instead which I would compare to a profiterole, only a much denser sponge instead of the puff which was average.
One of the things that I really appreciate is how involved the owner Stasha is with all the guests that walk in through the door, which is difficult to see with many restaurants in Dubai.
Do come here for the lovely ambience, tasty food and friendly staff. I will certainly be coming back for more.
21 grams is the new bistro in town that you can hang out with friends, chill out and enjoy the balkan cuisine with there friendly and very accomodative staff and baristas. And expirience the speciality coffee that makes your whole day.
This restaurant is like a breath of fresh air. It is simple and honest food. We ordered liver patè and im generally not a fan of liver but it tasted so creamy and mild that we we’re definitely going back for it again. For the main dish we Had the pickled cabbage rolls with a mince filling it tasted excellent. Loved the other dish too which was crispy chicken with pea puree on a bed of white sauce.
The restaurant itself is small and very cosy. Feels like at home with cosy kilim rugs ... definitely recommended!!
Located in the ground floor of trendy new Park Regis Boutique Hotel on bustling Jumeirah Beach Road – Dubai, 21 Grams was my very first introduction to the authentic cuisine of the Balkans. We had the pleasure of having breakfast here during our stay at the hotel, and I was rather pleased to see this wasn’t yet another expansive buffet where so much food and drink go to waste. Instead, you get to choose a main dish that comes with freshly brewed coffee and squeezed orange juice.
New hot-spot in Dubai. Balkan cuisine with a modern twist, definitely worth trying, u will be mind blowed. Cosy and minimalistic ambient, but the word that realy describe this place is SOUL.
AMAZING place to get a tasty treat and high quality coffee. Location is great and very walkable/bikeable from the beach, but if you drive be prepared for parking during busy hours. Very relaxing atmosphere and lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff have always been super helpful & friendly too, definitely recommend giving them a visit!
Cozy and modern place for a perfect lunch. You can chose from a selection of Mediterranean plates with a modern touch. Special selection of coffe
A cute place where you can spend a cosy afternoon with your loved one or have a business meeting, we tried the prunes tart and it was simple yet delicious and authentic #21grams
Balkan food with an Urban Twist
We were warmly welcomed by their very professional staff and we were very quickly seated at a nice cozy table with some traditional Balkan style rugs on the floor. The Balkan region is quite diverse and I can see why they probably decided to give the place a more urban look and feel, however, the traditional touches (even if quite subtle) really amazed me. Not just the rugs, but also the amazing unforgettable smell of the Hyacinth flowers- one on each table (which I actually haven’t smelled in Dubai yet and with no doubt, it is such a strong memory all Balkan people have of springtime back home!). Read full review on my blog: http://www.soulphotosdubai.com/blog/21grams-balkan-food-dubai/
21 grams is one place to definitely visit in dubai if you miss your authentic Balkan cuisine... the food is heavenly and tastes really good... how did i asses this? By just tasting that chicken liver pâté which i was never a fan of before but at 21grams this is a dish not to miss... creamy and flavorful and so good... i ordered as well the cevapi which was served with onions and some chili creamy paste and some grilled bell pepper, it was yumm and the meat was fresh and cooked to perfection! Sarma was great as well... let’s move to dessert, i tasted alot of desserts but i would say that the elder flower ice cream is just too good and so original and flavorful! Don’t miss the chocolate baklava too ;) that cinnamon kick it has is just right!
Love this hidden gem in Um Suqeim. Such a authentic place and opened recently at the Park Regis. Lovely food and coffee and love the decoration. I’d go for the mushroom omelette anytime
Very cozy place with a great food and good service.Balkan food with a twist.
Chocolate hazelnut baklava is a must try!
The prices are a bit high though.
Amazing, very cozy place. You feel like at home. :) And great food of course! If you are a morning person, don't miss burek and a cup of fresh speciality coffee!
I heard so many good things about this place so finally decided to visit. Cozy interiors with a minimalistic design welcome you in, giving you an instant homely feel. We ordered a bunch of appetizers which were very tasty especially the baked feta cheese so I suggest you order a couple for sharing. For the mains, we had the moussaka (super delicious), seabass (had all the flavors of the sea in it) and the chicken thighs (very delicious as well). We had the sponge cake and apple walnut crumble for dessert which were also good. All in all, the place was great in terms of flavors; however, I still can’t get over getting the equivalent of one spoon of hummus as a starter for the price of a plate.
That hidden gem is located in Jumeirah Street with al Thanya. The parking and location it’s a bit weird but it’s worth it!
It’s a small place with a very cozy atmosphere, simple decoration but very nice with Arabic carpets in the floor and had a small balcony.
There is apples in the table and they give you infused water that is so beautiful with herbs and berries!
They fo their own bread and pastry that was amazing! We tried the Burek cheese that was awesome! The wild mushroom omelette was perfectly made too.
The coffee was great and service excellent.
I can’t wait to go back and try their menu (as i went for breakfast) and I promise i will add pictures! Super worth it to try!
Very nice interior. It’s a small but cute and nicely designed space. Food is good and prices are not as high as expected according to the location. Not vegan friendly though :) few mins away from the beach.
Do not hesitate to try this place. I had lunch here a few days ago and felt like I ate a home cooked meal lovingly made by a Serbian grandmother. Everything was half eaten before I could think of taking pictures but these were my favorite items.
Appetizers: kajmak. It looks like chèvre, tastes a little bit like ricotta but melts in your mouth like butter. The bread it’s served with is amazing. Mains: #1 breaded turkey fillet with potato dumplings #2 sarma (stuffed cabbage rolls). Unfortunately, I didn’t love the desserts.
Service was very good. Would love to come back and try more dishes!
That was my first time there and will definitely be back for more delicious Balkan food. Place is small but very cosy and with that homely but stylish touch. I had chicken soup ( yammy) and cevepe which were both very delicious. My husband had a grilled bass which once again- was very nice. I would have dessert but I was too full! Next time though:) The service was very good too and we were made very welcome there. Nice music and I must say- more places like this in Dubai!
First I was here for breakfast, it was good and attentive.
Today I turned up for some late dinner and we were severed with some wonderful treat chef chose for us, there was sous vide lamb, sea bass and kebab, couple of cold starters and one with clotted cream was excellent with the house bread. Completed our dinner with chocolate and hazelnuts baklava, with ice cream on the cake of the night.
Excellent place, good service and attentive, will come again to try more.
Thanks to all at 21 Grams!

Mornings like these! During our weekend stay at the Park Regis Boutique, we started our Saturday morning with some soul food at the hottest new spot in town – 21 Grams Bistro. Serving Balkan Cuisine, this urban bistro has got all the elements that would make you want to add it to your must visit list.
I went to 21 grams after seeing some great pics on Instagram and it was just as inviting in real life as I had hoped! The food had a very authentic taste (the cevapi were great!), and I really liked the kajmak too. The service was friendly and attentive.
I will be going back to try the Burek for sure!
this hidden gem serves authentic serbian cuisine with a modern twist. having been to serbia a few months back, i missed their food, so when i found out that a new serbian/balkan restaurant opened, i did not hesitate to go try it and it was worth it!
the place is very cosy and the staff their are super friendly. once the waiter came, we immediately started ordering! we had the baked feta, grilled cevapi, homemade gnocchi with Dalmatian pasticada (actually a croatian dish) and they also offered us a side of ajvar (red pepper paste)
where do i begin...the cevapi was fantastic!! in fact it was so good that we ordered two plates! (we were 3 ppl) the baked feta was really good. the gnocchi was amazingly pillowy with the slow cooked beef stew filled with different flavors, i never had anything like it.
after all of that, we asked for the bill. to our surprise they gave us two desserts and refused to let us leave until we tried their desserts on the house! let me tell you it was great! it felt homemade and comfy to eat! obviously because of the desserts i ordered a piccolo, that was great too!
would i go back again? yes!! their breakfast looked intriguing so im definitely going back there to try it next time!
thank you 21 grams for satisfying my cravings!
----------NEW RESTAURANT ALERT----------
21 Grams is one of the few restaurants in Dubai that serve Balkan food.
It's the first time I've ever heard of the Balkan cuisine.
The restaurant is fairly small, the décor is very simple, I would use minimalist to describe it. The ambiance is very nice.
The staff is very nice, they're easy to talk to, and they are very attentive.
We started of our dinner with the Chicken Liver Pate (recommend by our server) and the roasted pepper relish.
The Chicken Liver Pate was to die for. The Pate was amazing, I couldn't get enough of it. The Pate was so flavourful, especially when we had it with the homemade bread on the side. The bread so soft and fluffy, they sell a loaf for about 10-12 dirhams.
For our main course, we had ordered the Gnocchi and a Kebab dish, not quite sure of the name. The Gnocchi for me, was not good, it had a very peculiar taste and I didn't particularly like it. It was the only dish I didn't like from what we ordered. The Kebab dish was really good. It was succulent and juicy. It was served with some hot chili cheese that really tied the dish together.
For dessert, we tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Baklava. It wasn't too big, easily shared by two people. The Baklava tasted really good, it wasn't too chocolatey or sweet, it was just right. We also got to try their Walnut Strudel which was aslo very tasty.
Went there with a group of friends, including some people from the Balkans. It is a concept bar which managed to elevate the Balkan cuisine to another level. Having said that, do not expect the usual huge or inexpensive portions as you might get in the Balkans.
Overall, interesting place but they need to work a bit more on delivering the orders faster. I understand that it takes time to prepare, but anything over 30 minutes is too much.
Good luck!
Our recent staycation was at unique Boutique Hotel. The famous chain of Park Regis have recently launched their concept of Park Regis Boutique. This small but sophisticated property lies at the main location at Jumeirah Road just at the Kite Beach and next to Umm Suqeim Park. The Boutique Hotel comprises of rooms with elegant interior which is a mix of Contemporary & traditional décor. The distinctive touch has been given by using cane, jute, wood & rust shades & basic amenities have been provided in the hotel.
Nice ambiance, delicious food. Very friendly staff. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try traditional serbian/balkan food...
Did you know that the weight of a human soul is 21 grams? Also, the latitude of the Balkan Peninsula is 21 degees! Why I’m telling you this? Well, because I am truly amazed by the unique new restaurant that has opened up just a stone’s throw away from Kite beach JBR. It’s called 21 Grams and is one of the finest Balkan cafes in town. It has such cozy vibes with an interior that is done up beautifully with a gorgeous mix of Millennial pink and orange sofa seating, a stark concrete floor and traditional Balkan rugs, together with a great selection of reading materials, and a small outdoor terrace that overlooks the Umm Suqeim Park.
Balkans, also called Balkan Peninsula, easternmost of Europe’s three great southern peninsulas, is an area of great history, home of many nations and cultures, and an unexplored wealth of amazing food. So food wise, it’s very strong and serves a mix of old-school Russian-Greek recipes right from the mountains, valleys and coasts of the Balkan region.
An Elder flower drink and some great quality tonic water were our choice for drinks, and from the cold mezze menu, we opted for the mix platter of the famous clotted cream Kajmak, the red pepper relish Ajvar, and the Urnebes which is basically a red hot chili cheese. This was served with freshly baked traditional bread and made an amazing appetizer.
For our mains, we selected Crispy Skin Chicken Thighs that were marvelously tender and arrived with some delicious green pea puree and herb infused béchamel sauce. The Dalmatian Pasticada has to be the best homemade gnocchi you can ever have! Slow cooked beef stew with prunes and apples, it was so tasty with the apples lending the perfect sweetness to the savory delicacy.
To end our highly satisfying meal on an equally sweet note, we picked out the Festive Wheat from the dessert section. This was done nicely with honey, dried fruits and walnut.
Overall, a wonderful experience! Each dish that was brought to the table had an appealing presentation, all the more giving way to an appetite boost. Everything we tried was on point and utterly taste-worthy. Even the coffee is super amazing, and desserts are irresistible! Besides, the warmth of the eatery replicates the comfort of a family home. You have to visit this one if you haven’t already. Highly recommended!

Balkan restaurant! Ordered the mandatory chopska, nice. Although I have a strong feeling the tomatoes we're not from the Balkan farms as claimed. Chargrilled peppers need to be better. Beetroot and spinach salad was nice. Chicken liver pate was v nice . Coffee was fab. Service was attentive.
Will visit again. Stone's throw from the beach as well.
A beautiful introduction to contemporary Balkan cuisine! All of Balkan’s favourite food is presented with an urban twist. The ambience is cozy and warm, location is not far from the beach.
I heard from my Serbian friends about this place. Once we stepped in 21Grams, we could feel the unique vibe that was missing in Dubai. The place itself is very cozy and feels like home. Staff is more than friendly, and very knowledgeable. The smell of freshly baked pastry will bring you straight back to grandmas kitchen. When you ask them about the food, they will tell you its Soul food, which you will realize on the first bite its true. They have my recommendation, and for sure they will see me more often. Well done guys.
21 grams is the newest urban Balkan bistro located on the ground floor of the Park Regis Boutique Hotel in Jumeirah Road. It’s very near Kite Beach and is the perfect place if you want to eat something healthy after your workout. Yes, I know what you’re thinking… What is Balkan? I asked the same question too because I have never heard of this cuisine before. And then they told me that Balkan, also called Balkan Peninsula, easternmost of Europe’s three great southern peninsulas, is an area of great history, home of many nations and cultures, and an unexplored wealth of amazing food.
