Friendly staff. Good quality food. Nice environment. I found that wasabi needed improvement. Katsu curry has sophisticated taste. Unfortunately, oshiburi wet towel (to clean your hands) was not offered, however it is a very important part for the good quality restaurant hospitality in Japan. You can have fork or spoon upon request if you can’t use the chopsticks.

I love their Ramen and sushi. Quite pricey but worth it for its price. Nice view if eating outdoor, you can see the fountain show. You can use your entertainer on main dishes.

Had high expectations from this Japanese restaurant. Skipped the yo-sushi restaurant around the corner to dine at this more upmarket restaurant.
The ambience was very nice they have tables of different capacity from 2 to over a dozen seats. One can sit indoors or in the patio facing the waterfront with a very nice view.
The menu is wide spread. I ordered a sashimi salad as it’s pic was very tempting. When the salad arrived I found just 4-5 pieces of salmon and tuna in total. This I felt this was too little given the price of the dish which was over AED50. I added some unagi maki to my order and I got 4 pieces for AED 32 which just ok.
The soya was too salty and the in-house salad dressing as rather pungent.
To be fair I would not write it off as I didn’t really try any main course this time.

I have always been terrified of eating sushi in Dubai with the fear of it not being fresh and not authentic but I am so happy to say that I now have a regular go to place which is Motomachi.
The sushi is freshly handmade and absolutely delicious and the rest of the menu also is so tasty and makes me feel like I’m in Japan.
An absolute must visit if you’re a fan of Japanese food!

Hungry and craving for Yakisoba ended up going to Motomachi. A delightful experience on a whole. The service was decent and the ambiance was great, with views of the Lake. Oh and special mention to the menu. It has beautifully designed layouts and photographs. We ordered Chicken Yakisoba and it was really nice. The portion sizes are pretty generous. I also ordered Chicken Katsu from their special menu. It was great too. The taste might be a little bland for some, but I loved it. The fried onions, egg with breaded chicken was simply amazing and filling. We also ordered the Croquette Balls for starters they were delicious too.

Ordered Miso Ramen, Chicken & Ebi Katsu and Yakiniku. Miso Ramen was decent, mildly flavorful broth. Chicken & Ebi Katsu was a little disappointing; not very appetizing and the katsu sauce served along with the dish didn't well with the overall dish. However, Yakiniku was really yum, well balanced - thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance was pleasant; and the staff was courteous.

Always love Motomachi and this location is quite nice with its water facing ambient window seating. Our favourites are the Chicken Katsu , Yakisoba and Tempura Don. Jam was friendly and polite as our server as was Mercy.

Why did I not find this place before? Its a quaint place tucked away in a farther wing of the restaurant areas un DFC. They should move to a prime location already! I really love the theme; its very homey. The food did not disappoint as well. I had my favorite chicken teriyaki and I love how the taste is not overbearing. A companion and I had other favorites like the California maki, yakitori and chicken and shrimp katsu which were fantastic as well! Their soy sauce is really good! It’s something you can add to their food to enhance their flavor! Will sure get back here the soonest and try other favorites.

I’m giving this place a 5, purely for the chocolate cake I had and that’s the only thing I tried here. My friend and I were craving for some dessert and decided to venture this place. I absolutely and throughly fell in love with chocolate cake served here. It’s a must try .

Everything I ordered - truffle mushroom gohan and cheesecake slice and they were both amazing! Couldn’t get enough. And to add to that their portion sizes were just enough for 1 person and I ordered for 2 people so that was a bummer. If only the portion sizes weren’t this small, this was one of the best food experiences in quite sometime!
