Impressed with the service and yummy variety of puttu... I liked the bell concept (feedback bell) Ur Sulaimani was fantastic Cost was also less Overall a unique n best place in Dubai. Must be a dream shop for the creator...
Kudos Worth waiting
A restaurant gets repeat customers only if the food is good - and I must say that Dhe Puttu scores very well in this regard.
Must say the ambience was nice with nicely done interiors and staff were courteous without being too overbearing.
Menu covered different varieties of 'Puttu' and will suit the Veg and Non-Veg guests well.
Must visit for the food..concept and experience however I will caution people to try and go on weekdays (even better if it is afternoon) as I have heard horror stories of people waiting hours for the Puttu on weekends.
I have been there today with my colleagues , nice hospitality, welcoming ambiance, good food, friendly staff...enjoyed unlimited sulaimani and pappad...
Highly recommend to visit atleast once in a while
We went twice while we were in Dubai. Our son loved it and said it is delicious We would really love a branch in Uk (Leeds) as it will be more convenient for us Food was mouthwatering, special thanks to chefs who prepared the food. Loved it. A special thanks to all the staff who is working tirelessly and still have a cheerful face even in this hot weather.
Well mannered and friendly staff. Good food. We liked it. Thank you!!
Quality and Quantity of food was very good and delicious nicely served. The ambience is also very good.its very difficult to find out a parking near by and table booking option also they are not enable in zomato.
Very good restaurant. The food was lovely and the staff was polite ...
Best place for varieties of putt. Meals are average. Quantity is less for combo puttu. Bit expensive.
I loved the food as we always come on a saturday. And its been 6months and I’m here again 🤗🤗. This time its not the thali but a different one with parotha.. I hope you will have wheat parotha.. Overall the food was delicious, little spicy and will satisfy your tastebuds. ☺️☺️☺️
Cleanliness , food is good , social distancing , staff wearing gloves and mask .
Staff were very helpful. Didn't charge me for the food due to hair in it. Were so nice to ensure I come back again and I will.
Dhe Puttu has variety of puttu’s and all taste amazing .The location is easy to find and it is at the prime location of Karama .I Tried Veg curry Puttu ,sea food Puttu,Erachi puttu and special Puttu and all were amazing .Even though your not a fan of puttu or you haven’t tried Puttu you must try at Dhe Puttu Karama .
Such a super experience we had !! We wait 3 hours we got the 43 number reservation. Service exotic and food was traditional kerala sadhya. Place was bit crowded but they managed it well .
Recently tried King fish polichattu with rice and veg meals
Loved the flavours of polichattu masala
Its tasty and flavorful
Kingfish was fresh
Quality is great
Ambience is good
Can be suggested for group lunch/dinner
Loved their puttu beef biriyani, Gobi 65 and chicken gravy. But pathri wasn't that good. Tasted powdery.. ambience, service, food decorations all damn good. Worth the price.
From the name and the idea of Dhe Puttu was to showcase different variety of Puttu seen in all parts of Kerala under one roof. I believe its not only the food that the restaurant serves but the chefs/staffs who put in the effort to serve good food to the customers. And they definitely have taken that standards to a desirable level.
Now its not only Puttu that they serve but there are a number of other variety of food that you can enjoy here without any regrets. Moreover their presentation skills are to be seen, it will take sometime for you to start eating the food.
To start off, the two drinks we tried were the Miracle Cocktail Juice that consisted of Boiled Beetroot and Carrot blended with Milk + Sugar, healthy drink 😊 and Ginger Mint Passion Fruit Punch, this was really refreshing.
For starters, the Crispy Fried Chicken was really good and recommendable. Zayan couldn’t stop for one.
So other than Puttu what do we get here, yes their lunch hours are pretty busy here and do you know why ? Their Ilayil Ooonu is just 10 AED, yes its true. They serve the oonu everyday in the leaf itself. It comes with 7 kootttum, Sambar, Fish Curry, Rasam and Mooru. What else can you ask for at these rates, it was really yum.
I always love Fish fry along with Oonu, hence ordered it separately, this is a definite recommendation - Avoli idimulaku - Crushed Chilly and Chef’s Special masala marinated on fish. There was thenga kothu too along with the masala, the flavours can’t explain, amazing.
Then came the Hot Kodukka Chicken Biryani, Its Dum Biryani with a egg as well, I want Egg with Biryani 😊. Then its usual condiments - Raitha, Pickle and Salad. It was hot, perfectly cooked and the flavours were appetizing.
Next was my favourite, Pullicha Porotta, Chef spl beef roast stuffed inside the Porotta and folded in banana leaf, you cant just dive in since it was hot and the smell that came out as soon as you open it makes it so tempting to attack it.
How can I leave this place without trying Puttu dishes right, hence got the Classic Roasted Banana Puttu, as description says Puttu filled with roasted Banana, just look at that presentation. Didn’t want to spoil it 😊. Zayan had the fruits first and then the puttu.
Next is like a complete meal called Subharathri Puttu, Top of the puttu contains Kanthari mix Chicken, skewers of Chicken Chuttathu (Tawa fry), Gravy, Grape Juice and Custard. Loved the taste.
For desserts, we tried the Honey glazed fried Banana centre having an icecream. Centre was filled sugary coconut and cashew. The plate also had tutty fruity. It was divine.
Final one was the Mango Custard, fresh mango sliced and custard was yum.
This place is always busy due to the wide variety of puttu options on the menu. I loved their puttu combos, nearly tried most of them. The prawns ones are my favorite!!
Bang for buck! The food quality and taste has massively improved. My favorite go to restaurant when the craving kicks in.
Great food, Nice Ambience and Friendly staff. Definitely come back again and also recommend Family and Friends
Good ambiance, friendly staff. Unique menu and taste, verities of puttu....
This is our go-to place for weekend lunch and so have never really taken photos here, but was super excited to hear they have reopened when the restrictions were eased and so a few clicks this way.
Amazing staff, very delish food, authentically served, value for money.
The authentic Kerala rice putty available here with different combo options. All the options are worth throng atleast once. The chicken puttu combos are the best in here.
Great variety of Puttu combo's. Koonthal coconut fry is superb.
I was brought to this restaurant to celebrate our last day in Dubai, but my husband surprised me with a grand birthday celebration instead (February 2020). We truly enjoyed the ambiance and humbled by the way the staff treated us with welcome arms. Overall, my husband and I had a great experience and we would recommend this place to all our family and friends. THANK YOU, DHE PUTTU :)
Lot of varieties of puttu available
Amazing food and very friendly attitude from staffs ;Saif Sandeep adarsh 😎 are really cool guys!
Though i am a north indian from Bombay I do enjoy keralite food. Especially their biryani and their meals which is festive and filling. I tried de puttu with my hubby and little son and they both enjoyed it a lot. I definitely recommend de puttu for cost effective and tasty south indian food.
Food was good and the staff was very friendly. Explained the menu and made sure recommended the dishes based on our preference.will surely be going back.
This place is so good, that I've been there three times in under a month. Each time we go, we always order the different assortments of puttu. Eatch dish is seasoned with it's own spices .which come out smelling savory and appetizing, good service. Friendly staff. Thank you so much for all staff of dhe puttu dubai for the wounderful food.
Inspite of going in early in the evening for dinner and on a weekday the food was fresh and tasty.
Veggie puttu- stuffing wasn’t that great but the vegetable curry was out of the world... very flavourful ! Kiddo was happy with the roasted banana puttu .
Couldn’t taste the highly recommended welcome drink bcoz they brought in our nadan chai first !
If you want to try some variety for lunch, instead of regular meals, one of stuffed put offered here would be the best option. Easy access, clean, good customer service. Price is little on the higher side compare to similar level of South Indian restaurants.
A place that would surprise you with the variety of options they offer with puttu in place of your usual puttu-kadala curry. They served us with a cinnamon tea, which was super refreshing and we kept going for more. Ordered the
Veg Puttum Veg Curriyum (Regular puttu served with a vegetable and coconut curry)
RingMaster Combo (Layered brown and white puttu served with a delicious squid masala)
I’d highly recommend both these combos. Excellent food, prompt and courteous service, reasonably priced and definitely a must visit restaurant.
Never tried puttu Before visiting this restaurant the stuffed puttu are so tasty service is good prices are on the higher side but no complaints as the food was very tasty
They welcomed us with black tea, they serve massive variety of Puttus. Other than the puttu, I really enjoyed their crispy fried calamari and fish fingers.
Basically, I don’t like Puttu but really this Restaurant changed my opinion.
We ordered Fish Fingers, crispy fried calamari, Beef Puttu, Fish Puttu and Chicken fried rice everything was perfect and tasty.
Staff: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
So we finally ventured into Dhe Puttu located in a bustling corner of Karama. Puttu is steamed rice cakes which is usually served with Banana or Black chickpea curry. This is a very healthy glutenfree meal idea with its origins from Kerala.
At Dhe Puttu they have a massive variety of puttu styles served with different gravies, both veg and non veg with pretty exotic names, most of which I cannot pronounce, but it was very easy to understand the menu since the entire list was visually displayed in their iPads.
They welcome you with piping hot glasses of Suleimani (black tea) and you know, other than the puttu, I really enjoyed their crispy fried calamari 🤩👌
Full marks to the staff for their lovely hospitality and for patiently explaining each dish and the ingredients.

We have come to Dhe Puttu several times since they opned and also recently revisited again. It is the exact same concept as Cochin where the unlimited Sulaimani they give is extra yum. Very quick service and we usually find the place extremely crowded at most times. Parking is also not easy here during evening time. When we went in the afternoon it was fine though. We have tried several items from the menu and our favorites include the kunjikunan puttu, the chicken puttu, beef fry and chicken curry. Overall good eat for anyone who enjoys puttu and I believe this is still the only puttu focused concept.

Had a visit over this place for the weekend with family to try out some amazing amazing varieties in puttu ( kerala dish )
They have lot many options for puttu combos where in my personal favorite was - kamara samabavam which came with irachi puttu along with kappa Biriyani some salad , sweet and juice . Others have gone for ram leela , splender Thali , and some plain puttu and curry . Ram leela was a garlic base combo chicken curry and stuffed puttu. Splendid thali had all the curries like chicken , beef , fish , veg together with marble puttu . Now they also have options for other dishes other than puttu like Biriyani , roties, porotta along with separate curries and also having a ela sadhya served for lunch . Need to try that soon .
Overall loved the meals we had 👍
Excellent customer service, reasonable pricing, good atmosphere & awesome food. Highly recommended for people looking for good keralite food. Puttu thali is a must try.
Awesome food !! So much a homely food feeler. Great staff and good service.
We had the lunch, meals and Special Puttu Thali.
Lunch was super awesome
- the kappa and mathycurry was just yummmm
- avial, koottucurru and payar were the stars
- ada pradhaman was again delicious
5/5 for the lunch Thali, Best kerala meals in town.
Puttu Thali was very exciting.
- beef curry and kadala curry was the highlight.
Suggest the team work on the interior seating layout, with this food you will always be crowded 😊
Dhe Puttu is our one of the favorite food destination in Karama. Amar Akbar Antony Puttu & Erachi Puttu are our favorite dishes. But this time they suggested us to have Biriyani Puttu & Chutta kozhi. That was supeb, especially the Chutta kozhi. I recommend my dear foodies to have this combo. Then we ordered Kappa Biriyani & Beef liver. About beef the best beef serving restaurant in Karama are Aaramam & Dhe Puttu. The kappa Biriyani was superb.
Had very good fish curry meals. The ambience was good the welcome drink buttermilk was refreshing. The staff were friendly. They now have food festival in the evening from 7pm. Would love to try that too.
Went there with family for dinner. We ordered the calamari fry, prawns puttu, Amar Akbar Anthony puttu and mutton biryani! Their complementary black tea is the Star attraction!! Good service and good food!
Lovely Place 😃 This was our third visit. Ambience is well maintained. Food is amazing, well plated, presented and yummmm😋😋 The best part is the service and the staff. You feel so very comfortable and they absolutely understand your need and suggest you in a right way. Special mention Devadas and Sandeep very cooperative and friendly Boys. Well trained to how to deal with customers. Appreciate your hard work Boys. Way to go. 🌟 See you next time soon. 💙💚💜
Good combination of puttu and seafood.... Especially the salads... We added kaumara sambhavam and one more combo named behind dileeps movie.... Both were super yummy.... And as it was our 4th wedding anniversary... The whole staff celebrated it with a sweet chocolate puttu cake... Loved their service Dheputtu Restaurant
Food:
Chicken puttu with chicken dry, now the puttu was steaming hot like we expect it to be.
Puttu is steamed cylinders of ground rice layered with grated coconut (fyi except south indians)
This dish came with chicken dry, which was my favourite, it took me back to Kerala in my first bite.
It was tangy, spicy and chicken was soft and perfectly cooked. In a small bowl there was chicken curry as well.
Taste of mixed puttu with chicken dry and the spicy gravy was another level.
Price:
Its worth it.
Service:
Staff were good, they did come to check about the food. Keep going :)
Ambience:
Now now if you are planning to visit on a weekend be aware the place will be super crowded, you will have to wait. Parking can also be an issue. But nevertheless, you can take a little pain to enjoy the food later.
Will we recommend:
Yes definetly, infact we want you to take your non South Indian friends also here, to experience famous Kerala dish.
Amazing food. They have done a brilliant job bringing in fusion food between the tradition food Puttu with variations in chicken, egg and meat. Crowded yet pleasant service and great value for money.
Being a vegetarian I haven’t tried any of their puttu combos.
But Im in love with the Kerala meals they serve for lunch that too only for Aed 10, but without compromising the quality. All the dishes are amazing with authentic Kerala taste. Must must try for the rice lovers.
A very unique concept of serving different types of puttu. A common home made item served with a difference. Reasonably priced and the taste is good too. The cinnamon tea served along goes well with the dish. The wall decor is creative too. Difficult to get a seat especially on weekends
We planned to have dinner to this restaurant as my BF highly recommended this and for me to try puttu. We had beef and mutton puttu and the Muyal Kizhi (as explained to me is rabbit - first time eating this too!) They served papadum and tea as sides for the guests. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the place. Will definitely go back to try other combos!
