Retro Feasts is exactly what its name says...retro ambience with feast like delicacies that awaken your palate. I have eaten there quite often and each time the food and staff have been fantastic. The barbecue chicken platter is delicious and big enough to share, the 'Luke's favourite' lemon and mint drink is refreshing and the banana nutella toastie, indulgent and very satisfying. Great job! To the chef and the team my thanks and best wishes.
Great breakfast before a busy day. A nice chilled environment with great retro memorabilia all around. Good prices and a good selection of good food and drink on the menu.

So, we tried Retro Feasts
A restaurant by the beach, what can you ask for more? Giving you a relaxing view while enjoying your meal. Isn’t that great?
You will notice that the restaurant is kind of look like the structure of the washrooms in the area and guess what? It was indeed one! How cool is that? They didn’t do some major reconstruction and just turn it right away into a retro and aesthetic look. Putting a nostalgic feels of the vintage inspired furniture and designs, you will fall in love with its vibe. Totally instagramable!
Lets talk about the FOOD.
The MAIN! I love their baby back ribs soaked in such an amazing sauce. I’m telling you; you have to try it! Its tenderness and taste made me asked how it’s actually done.
The smoked on the burger was superb! It was so huge and delicious. I can still taste it till now
We also had retro seafood bucket. The seafood were extremely fresh and tasty. The sauce blends well with it.
We tasted the BBQ chicken wings that was finger licking good.
An amazing drink called Coco Bang Bang was served as well and we loved it a lot. It’s a mixed of infused herbs, coconut water and CHILI! Yes, a drink with chili! You have to try to know its goodness
Hello Mello was so refreshing. It’s a drink and a dessert at the same time.
Plus, the staff are so accommodating and nice. Always checking on how they can assist you. You can even play with them on their foosball table!
Retro beach vibe and good food, what a perfect combination! Looking forward to sit and relax on this amazing comfy restaurant.

Yesterday we visited Retro Feasts, one of the popular social eateries in the city for lunch. Inspired by childhood favorites, Retro Feasts is British chef Luke Thomas’s casual diner with quintessentially British vibes. Tucked away at the stunning The Beach, JBR, it boasts of a gorgeous view. This cute little eatery has an indoor and outdoor dining area. The outdoor seating area is spectacular as it is close to the beach.
Nice place to relax and unwind at the beach! I ordered a Breakfast mix juice which had a mixture of green apples, pineapple, oranges. It tasted fresh and good. Will try food next time .
The setting is lovely right by the beach. The food is very simple, but still nice. We ordered nachos and the salmon niçoise sallad, it wasn’t amazing, but for the price and nice seating close to the beach, it’s still worth visiting.
Location is perfect👌🏼 the food is lovely too, I had the peanut chicken satay sticks and also the chicken burger (highly recommended). Although I went at lunch time it wasn’t busy so I couldn’t understand why service took so long. This in no way hinders the experience but it did seem as though waiting staff were in a world of their own and we were waiting a while even for our drinks. Still one of the best places to eat on the beach👌🏼

I'm really scoring them high for the ambiance.. Albeit there are many places to choose from by the beach.
The food and service unfortunately has a long way to go. None of the dishes were exceptional and we did order quite a mix of things. The veg burger was good but everything else needed improvement. They have some interesting drinks that we liked.
Perfect ambiance for a windy morning at the beach side. The breakfast was scrumptious! We ordered Big British which was actually a good portion n omelette was made to my requests was tasty n buttery.
Avocado toast is a hit! If you desire a healthy breakfast, avocado toast is for you!

I honestly only tried some drinks at this place, but it has a very beach-kind of vibe.. which is perfect for its location. The interior is really funky and grabs the passers’ attention. I had some refreshing drinks with the family on a hot beach day, and that’s exactly the feel of this place.
Had dinner with my family last night at Retro Feasts. The view and ambience of the restaurant is very nice as it was along the beach.
We were assisted by Zaman, who was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The other staff tried to avoid attention from us and from other customers.
For mains, we ordered 2 All-Day Breakfast Burgers and 3 Veggie Burgers. For drinks, we ordered 2 Cranberry Cooler (recommended by Zaman), 2 Luke’s Favorite, and 1 Hugo. The drinks were served first but we were informed by Zaman that his colleague who made Luke’s Favorite drink, accidentally added something to the drink which made it bitter. Zaman fixed and remade the drink for us. It took longer time to serve our mains but we did not complain since we loved the taste of the burgers. We used 2 Entertainer vouchers so we only had to pay 230aed for 5 mains and 5 beverages.
We really had a great dining experience at Retro Feasts. We’ll probably dine in again there.

You can get all this only at Retro feasts located in the beach with some vintage touch given to the ambiance is quite soothing in hot summer days.

The chef behind the amazing dishes that you will get to taste here has a very sentimental value attached to whatever he cooks. Luke Thomas is the name of the chef behind Dubai’s diner Retro Feasts on the Beach, JBR, who cooks dishes which he used to cook in his childhood with his grandmother. Housed inside one of the dome shaped shells at The Beach, this is a complete fun and chilled out place to dine in. After walking through a red telephone box to get into the restaurant, you will get to see model spitfires hanging from the ceiling, table football, vintage posters and the Union flag all over. Outside, a reused, re-invented vibe pervades the furniture set out in view of the sea, with oil drums, and industrial-sized wooden spools doubling up as tables and chairs. The concept at Retro Feasts is a modern re-imaging of vintage British favourites, and the quality of food will definitely surprise you.
Underrated burgers! Their breakfast burger (which you can order any time of day) was delicious! It has well cooked Angus beef, bacon and a sunny side up egg with hp sauce and cheddar cheese plus the bread was warm and fresh 🍔 ❤️

Its the first time I try this place. Good place to eat it. I have ordered the prawn cocktail on toast and the sweet potato fries. Both not my favorite but the quality of the food is good. My friend ordered the breakfast burger and that was pretty good.

I was here for breakfast today, as the weather was bad there were less people here, usually it's crowded on Fridays, I opted for avocado toastie from their new menu it was Fab!
There was no Manager present when I was there apart from a Chef who went to couple of tables to check back and get there feedback his name was Manish, it was pleasure to see a chef who wanted to gain feedback for his food!!

An opportunity to visit this place on a breezy afternoon, it has all the goodness of a beautiful outdoor experience as well as indoor drawing inspiration from London subway beer brewery, sadly no beer in the garden or inside, although this would give it a pop. A very chic approach on food mainly consists of salads,burgers or BBQ platters.
We ordered a pulled beef burger,which came a food court style without any sides or salads ( odd) because they are not cheap they charge a reasonably good amount, the chicken BBQ platter,was wholesome,but disappointing,looks can be deceiving. The corn was grilled to beauty,but a heavy dollop of cream ruined it's taste, the jacket potato and sour cream was good , putting a big toasted piece of ciabatta, is not cool, the chicken is not as big as the ciabatta!! The chicken cooked really well,some lovely herbs and aromatic going in there. The most frustrating part I feel is you are expected to eat with plastic spoons,forks and knife!! You are literally at war with the chicken,making it messy and the chicken looking like it got run over by a lorry! This is a good place but needs some improvement, I guess the best part is open sea view and the whole beachy feel to it!

The ambience and decor are pretty average but the service was pretty good. The weather was amazing so decided to sit out. Ordered a BBQ chicken and it was really good.
Loved the recently launched BBQ nights at Retro Feasts JBR. Right on the beach it's the perfect chilled setting to watch the sunset. BBQ Nights are from 2pm-10pm every Friday and Saturday at AED 75 per person.
Foodie Favourites:
-Lamb burgers really delicious and loved the mix with the feta cheese
-Crazy corn on the cob with a lot of seasoning
-The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly, the brine sauce was delicious
-Soft ice-cream in a cone reminded me of Mr Whippy, perfect finish to a BBQ meal
-Pina Colada, amazing drink to cool you down, one of the best I had tried in Dubai (mocktail style)
-Hello Mello watermelon drink, literally half a watermelon and great for sharing. Super refreshing!
Loved the British inspired theme of the restaurant too, perfect place to sit outside and enjoy the winter weather.

Located in The Walk, JBR Retro Feasts takes you back to the good old days where from fashion to interiors and music everything was funky and colorful! The location itself is beautiful and so is the restaurant. When it comes to interiors Retro Feasts has nailed it! the British diner offers fast food with amazing outdoor seating area facing the beach! Loved how the red telephone box was used as an entrance door. Small details like airplanes, Foosball and funky posters got the retro vibe just about right!

Extremely convenient as they now offer to serve you directly on the beach, on the sun beds and honestly the waiters are amazing as they run all day long feet in sand under the well known Dubai insane heat and the distance is pretty big !
So just for the service offer and its quality knowing the conditions of it it is a big YES !!! 5 stars for sure.
Both my husband and older daughter had a classic burger with fries, they give it a 11/20. They think it is because of the box it was packed in, burger and fries were mushy. So they should rethink the way to serve it.
But I had a chunck vegetable couscous (that I shared with my 2 year old one) and it was very good. We both liked it a lot. 16/20.
We had also a mocktail served in a coconut, delicious.
If you want to spend your day at jbr public beach, but still want a hotel style kind of afternoon, you take umbrellas + beds and raise your arm to order from retro feast. You'll have a great day for much cheaper than in a 5 stars hotel.

Had the watermelon juice in a watermelon lol. It looked and tasted so refreshing. It had little chunks watermelon and juice, wished the chunks were bigger though! Either cubed or circular, whichever!
Had the chicken skewers with peanut sauce as well, honestly that was really good. Came in 6 skewers and was very tender and flavorsome.
I also had a salmon nicoise salad. So light and loved how perfect the boiled egg was, runny and creamy!
Will definitely come back for a nice cappuccino right by the beach 🌊

Absolutely gorgeous view and setting.. like a very homey backyard to hang out at and just a stone's throw away from the beach. The service was great and one of their staff truly went out of their way to accommodate our requests. The food however was quite disappointing. It looked good but lacked the taste. The hotdog sandwich was quite bland. The fries were fine and crispy enough. I did like my iced coffee latte though.👍
This place is great for just snacks or coffee, and when you wanna savour the JBR beach view. 4.0 for the ambiance and service. But 3.5 for the taste and value for money.😊
Tried their breakfast for the first time, wasn't too impressed honestly. The English breakfast was below average and over priced. The coffee was good and the outdoor seating are is great and it's what makes the place worth going for breakfast.
Quintessentially British it what this restaurant screams when you walk in. Visited it for a 'blind tasting', had to guess the ingredients in each dish - a lot easier said than done.
Coronation crab popadom, the crab is hidden extremely well in this dish. I wasn't able to pick up on it. A few flavors that did stand out: coriander, mango, raisins, almonds, mint yogurt dressing.
Buttermilk coated chicken, red cabbage & onion slaw with sriracha mayo. Now the hidden ingredient was apple which quietly caught my eye in the chicken slider.
Dessert was a black forest milkshake, thick and filling with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
An different and interesting experience at Retro Feasts! Do check out these dishes for a limited time.

Retro Feasts turned one this week, so Luke was in town to celebrate and unveil a selection of special edition dishes which will be on the menu for the next few weeks. If you’ve never been inside this quirky diner, you’ll find it beachside in one of the pods that usually houses the changing rooms. The interior – from the red telephone box that doubles as an entrance, to the figurines of the Queen, to the Keep Calm posters and Union Jack mural – is a kitschy nod to the best of British. Plus there’s a foosball table and pleasant outdoor seating overlooking the beach.
After a nice swimming at JBR, my husband and I were looking for a resto to vanquish our thirst and hunger. We found this unique retro-themed restaurant! The outstanding service made our experience memorable. Very accommodating, friendly and professional staffs made this restaurant complete. We ordered this mouthwatering retro burger and it was so delicious! You shouldn’t leave this resto without trying this burger. The super cheesy mac and cheese, chicken skewers and chicken cobb salad made me more excited to eat. For the drinks, you should try indulgence and coco moco mocktail is a way to beat the heat. If only our mobile were not low-bat, we would take a picture the food at any angels with the perfect ambience of the resto. The food is not just Instagram-worthy but it made the butterflies in my stomach full. We will surely come back here and recommend this place to our friends. Overall experience - EXCELLENT! Keep it up guys!
Nice and very different place on JBR. Sometimes they "deliver" on the beach which is nice. You can just Relax on the beach and a waiter will Come to you even if you paying with credit card.
A small outlet on the JBR the walk serves good food. The place is done up nicely and lives upto it's name. The decorative a , the furniture and the other artefacts make it look Retro. Good going
Our 60’s obsessed teenage daughter, Little Miss Finicky, was drawn like a moth to a flame to this place – what’s this? what’s that? Oo, look at this! look at that! For novelty, Retro Feasts takes the cake.
The food however didn’t get the same unanimous thumbs up. My Fish and Chips was better than I expected but our daughter’s Mac and Cheese, which was big on flavour, was almost bone dry – hmm. But it was still good.
Service was smiley (more I think, because of our daughter’s constant squealing at…um…everything) but I felt the girl behind the counter was only quickly-quickly, move along patient (you know what I mean?) – nothing offensive mind, but certainly not genuine – I wouldn’t want to be there at peak hours.
All this said, I actually liked the place…for the novelty, for the nostalgia…but also for the food which is probably the best British food you’ll get in Dubai outside a Pub. Ta!
For a fresher version of fast food, like burgers, fish and chips and club sandwiches to more "guilt free" selection of salads and fresh juices by the beach! Coffee is not bad either!
Retro Feasts is a British-themed joint, with retro decor, as the place name suggests, and a soundtrack that features the Beatles and David Bowie. I ate there during Ramadan, and tried the iftar deal, which handily sampled all the key menu items. The overall food standard was pretty good, with a suitably succulent house burger, perfectly grilled satay skewers and intriguing popcorn chicken. Retro Feasts' macaroni cheese was also surprisingly more-ish, as was the salmon salad - although the plastic cutlery provided couldn't cut the toast underneath it, which was unfortunate. I also enjoyed the 'orange & mint' drink - a smooth twist on the regional drink without the acidic throat burn of the latter - and the double chocolate milkshake, which also doubled well as dessert. The actual peanut sauce for the satay was not to my taste, and left me hankering for anything other than this or the tomato ketchup. But overall, worth a go.
Just popped into this place for a quick lunch after walking along the beach. The food was perfect, with the popcorn chicken being a new personal favourite. My wife loved her breakfast, her poached eggs were cooked exactly as they should be. Reasonable priced too. We'll certainly be returning whenever we're using JBR beach.
God food (i.e. The hot dog coz thats pretty much all ive had so far) and cool ambiance my only only request if you want us coming back more and more is get a new freakin foosball table !! Guys Come on ! I mean i came back after a couple of weeks and its still the same ! Players in the wrong order and no balls, and i dont mean it lacks courage..

The other evening we had passed by the recently opened Retro Feasts at The Beach by the Jumeirah Beach Residences. Retro Feasts is a casual British Diner in a brilliant setting directly next to the sand giving you a very chilled out atmosphere. The tables outside are looking like huge cans which is pretty cool and matches the clever interiors where you can find a upside down McDonalds sign used as a W, and an entrance leading through a oldschool red British phone cell.
After checking out the menu we proceeded to the counter to place our order. We went for Popcorn Chicken , a Retro Burger and Mac n'Cheese. We took the pager with us and after not too long time we could go and pick the order up from the counter. The Popcorn Chicken is really tasty and the dip coming with it really compliments the taste. The Retro Burger was quite a big one. The patty was well done and really juicy but not too much and the bun as well hit it. The Macaroni n'Cheese as well was pretty good and gave no reason to complaint at all.
I loved the ambiance and the nice view over the Beach. There are still a lot of items on the menu I would love to give a try, so we will surely be back. Retro Feast is open seven days a week from 8am until midnight, which practically prompts me to try out their breakfast...

I fell in love with the appearance of the place at first glance.
I don't think I can do much justice by reviewing the food because a. I'm a vegetarian and b. I had a salad.
My friend had the chicken skewers though. She liked the dressing but unfortunately her chicken was over cooked.
I had the courgette salad which tasted fantastic, although toward the end my cardboard dish started leaking. I guess they ought to watch the amount of dressing that goes in the salad.
You may think there is no big deal about a courgette salad. If you do, you are wrong. The courgette was grilled to perfection not to soggy and not to raw. At the risk of sounding like Goldilocks, the courgette was just right. The sesame soy dressing was delectable. I would definitely recommend the salad and would advise against having a plain black coffee. it tasted a bit burnt.
Anyway, the place is done up beautifully and is located just be the beach. Lovely spot. The service was incredible. O felt very welcome and the staff are incredibly warm.
My ratings for this place:
Food B+, Ambiance A+; Value for money B, Service: A+
For this peace and tranquility environment is worth to get up at 7 am to drive all the way to JBR.
The price of the food still justify enough for the taste and quantity . But but for that fried on the plate , you have to pay AED10 got that. Tiny bits amount of fries!
The peaceful enjoyable family time was utterly being spoilt by the inconsiderate attention seeker family! FYI, we wre not the only family felt that! We exchanged glances from the rest of the diners present at the same time whom were irritated by this indian man! Even the South Indian family of 5 members frowned and moved to away to another corner of the cafe!

Great experience, Great staff. Keep it up. I loved how swift the our order was delivered. The staff was extremely polite and was there to ensure we do not feel troubled. Will surely come here again on the next visit. Its recommendable and must try their varieties of drinks, fantastic location and the view is amazing.
