Review ‪bombay Urban Cafe‬ -

(التعليق الأصلي) Great food, lovely lovely staff. All of the staff were kind and attentive. The manager spotted that I was perhaps a bit overwhelmed by Dubai and took time to advise and reassure me. I was grateful for his advice and his kindness made a genuine difference to my experience here. The food is fantastic too - high quality, great range and don't miss the breads. Thank you Bombay Cafe!

(التعليق الأصلي) Excellent Indian food. It had some pure Indian dishes as well as Indian-Italian fusion and Indian-Arabian fusion. We had mostly the Indian dishes and they were outstanding-flavor was much more nuanced then in the US. Also, the servers were very attentive—no waiting for the bill like at other places here.

(التعليق الأصلي) Tasty food! Lots of variety! I do recommend for families. Indian fusion with Asian, Arabic food.

(التعليق الأصلي) I liked this fusion Indian restaurant. Location is excellent bang opposite to Sharaf DG Metro stn. The food quality and taste is quite good. Portion size is also decent. Free basement parking available.

(تمت الترجمة بواسطة Google.) لقد استمتعنا حقًا بالطعام هنا ولذيذ جدًا ، كان تناول الطعام هنا مثل تناول الطعام الهندي في الهند وكان جميع الموظفين لطيفين ومهذبين مع الخدمة كانت ممتازة (التعليق الأصلي) We really enjoyed the food here and and very tasty.Eating here was like eating Indian food in India and all the the staff were nice and polite with service was excellent

Very good service but food wasn’t good

Amazing taste. Correct amount of spices go for it if u wanna have snacks

Received this very dissapointing delivery of papdi chaat. When I opened the box it was already smelling stale and when I ate the papdi it confirmed my suspicion. The item was stale and spoilt! After eating just 2 of the papdi I was really sick. I understand that it is summer time but the restaurant should ensure that the orders r packed well so as to be delivered in good condition. Very unsatisfactory!!!

Starters were very good and awesome ambiance. Staff was very polite and friendly. Don't forget to try paani puri. Definitely worth the visit.

Starters were not that great but main course was good and the desserts disappointing.
Ambience is above average with a hint of dusty smell in the air. Staff is polite and friendly.

If you are craving Indian food spl Biryani and paneer and grills, then this place can be revisited for its lip smacking pani puri and great dum biryani.

Modern twist to Mumbai - Desi khanna.

Ever loved Mumbai street food or the thapri food, this place will give u nostalgia for the times you spend in India.

Very tasty food.
Service was really fast & smooth.

Mouth watering chaats.
Amazing biryanis 🙏🏼

The food was amazing actually, Quiet place is good for those who want to just talk. But the food it actually worth it. And the price is fair.

So this our 2nd visit to Bombay Urban cafe. I must say that it totally worth visiting there- 1st reason zucchini stuffed starter. I never tried before anything which is made of zucchini. But I became a fan of this fish. It was very healthy tasty and of course very satisfying food. Must try there zucchini stuff started.
2nd reason Beetroots Koftas again healthy and tasty.

I will recommend to everyone to visit and dine in.

Visited for dinner and ordered the Gol gappe twist and chicken shawarma dumplings.

Was a bit confused about the gol gappe as they were just the regular ones and they were quite soggy and the paani definitely needed more spice.

The chicken shawarma dumplings are actually a chicken vada Pav. This one had loads of potential but did not taste very nice.

Service was great but food has a long way to go.
Foodie Girl😍
Best Arabian and Indian fusion food prepared with love and affection and served with excellence. Really loved their kormas and fresh hot breads and kababs and biryani. Even their raita was punchy and was fresh. Full of meat and spices to drool for and eat till hearts contempt.

Had been for dinner. Loved the food and ambience.
The service was commendable.Golgappa twist was mouth watering and so was vada pav. Definitely will be coming back.
Very good menus. We stayed as part of a half board with the Rose Park Hotel. A soup, a salad, an Indian or European dish to choose a desert. They accepted half board for dinner or supper at our convenience. The waiters are very friendly and attentive to your expectations. I recommend.
and we indians are the king of dishes😎

I came to this restaurant for the first time along with my wife and I must say we enjoyed the food thoroughly. Special mention to our waiter Mr. Mohammed Yousuf who was hospitable and kind and understanding towards our needs and showed patience and understanding. We recommend this place to anyone who needs a quiet and sumptuous meal.

Bombay Urban Cafe is conveniently located just opposite Sharaf DG metro station, they have valet parking facility too. Been to this lovely restaurant for my husband's birthday. Dimly lit and exquisitely done up, divided into two spacious sections, restaurant has a chic rustic yet contemporary decor. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with smiles by all the staff.

We started off with few delicious soups solkadhi, tomato soup and zaffrani mutton shorba. The zaffrani mutton shorba, was the best, the aroma of it when arrived was itself so appetizing. For starters we had assorted mix grill, nachos with chicken tikka kheema, shawarma chicken fried dumplings, gol gape twist and hot garlic french fries. All the dishes were just AMAZING. Nachos with chicken tikka kheem was outstanding, a must must must try.

Mains were even better then the starters. We tried laal maas with arabic sides and khubz, spaghetti anglio e olio, rawa fried king fish curry and palak paneer lasagne. Every dishes served were mindblowing, divine till the last bite. Drinks we tried were bombay blast, peach tree punch and pomegranate lemon mint. All the drinks were colourful and sinfully delicious.

Overall experience was that each and every dish was Perfect, Innovative and Unique, nothing was overdone or overpowering, each dish was full of flavour. A MUST visit restaurant with family and friends. Very highly recommended !!!!!

The food was really delicious and Yusuf was really helpful and all his recommendations were awesome . Shall visit again soon . Beetroot kofta is must have

Ordered delivery via zomato.

1) delivered order missing items..despite the receipt having the item listed the restaurant blames zomato ordering system
2) item descriptions do not match the food delivered - the loaded wedges with the malai tikka are half cooked potatoes wedges, the dumplings are underseasoned sliders etc
3) extremely overpriced - considering the quality of the food delivered

No idea how these guys have a 4 rating, best avoided.
The Bombay urban Cafe is very beautiful Cafe. The ambience of this place is very good, I ordered Butter Chicken which is very tasty and little bit spicy.

Was there few days ago with my visitors from NZ. We ordered some non veg and veg dishes. The food was average although the portion size was good. Tandoori rotis and lachha paranthas were good too.

Excellent Indian food, you can taste all the great spices and flavors. Tried their dal makhani, butter chicken, tawa pulao and their Dum biryani and they were all really great. Definitely one of the best spots if you’re craving Indian food. Their breads are also amazing.

I had been here for a dinner with a couple of my blogger friends. They have a beautiful urban cafe interiors . They also have valet parking available so no issues for parking.
If you are Zomato gold member , you can use 1+1 offer over here on food .
A welcome drink was presented to start with , it was a tangy kokum drink . We tried a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian starters and main course dishes . We started of with some appetizers
Veg & Non - Veg Appetizers
1. Patata Harra Chaat Tokri
2. Nachos with Chicken Tikka Keema
3. Shawarma Chicken Fried Dumplings
4. Rice beans hummus and Spicy Falafel Kathi Roll
The Patata Harra Chaat was just delicious and the quantity was big enough.
The Nachos with Chicken Tikka Keema was good and cheesy served with guacamole.
The Shawarma Chicken Fried Dumplings served in a bun were savory and appetizing.
The Spicy Falafel Kathi Roll was something of a unique appetizer to try as it had a fusion of arab and Indian ingredients mixed together to create a great appetizer.
Moving on to the Mains there were a variety of Veg and Non - Veg choices to choose from .
The dishes we ordered were
1. Laal Maas with Khubz
2. Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan
3. Palak Paneer Lasagne
4. Beetroot Kofta Curry with Kulcha
5. Dal Makhani
The Laal Maas was just wow . The spice level was perfect and the meat was tender and soft . I recommend to try this main dish .
The butter chicken was ok , but a bit sweet
The Palak Paneer Lasagne was something different which you wouldn’t see on a normal menu . The dish was very unique.
I liked the Beetroot Kofta Curry accompanied with Kulchas , the taste was really yummy.
The Dal Makhani is a classic dish on every Indian menu , and the Dal was indeed a good dish to have . Tastewise it was ok
This place is worth going if you are into trying dishes with a fusion of different ingredients and the prices are a bit pricey but worth it .
The staff was kind enough to help us out in selecting the best dishes on their menu

My new go to place for nachos with a twist. Sometime the consistency of the food varies, for example, more/less garlic & more/less oil in the curries but I suppose this is a sign of real cooking rather than heat'n'serve garbage.

Every time we have ordered from here, we have not been disappointed.
I absolutely love the beetroot kofta curry, butter chicken and chicken biryani.
Remz
Jeera rice, dal tadka and a customized manchow soup were the first things we ordered. It was a good start I must say!
For starters, we ordered hammour tikka and kurkure veg kebab. Loved the latter, crunchy and tasty. The fish wasn't as great as I had expected, did't taste fresh, had a slight fishy (not in a good way) taste which is usually not the case with this particular fish.
For main cours, we ordered butter chicken with garlic naan, lal maans with Arabic sides and khubz, paneer kadai masala and tandoori roti. No complaints for any of the mains, all were good, except one small issue we had was with the mutton pieces in the lal maans. They were too meaty for our liking.
Loved the ambience of the place. The staff were courteous and kind. We had 2 small kids with us, they were given a scoop of ice cream complimentary. A sweet gesture from them.
Overall, a good dining experience it was!

Good ambience, polite and efficient staff, good food but certainly on the expensive side. Wouldn't use it for a regular meal - but good for an occasion.

The prawn biryani with the prawn curry was delicious. The winning dish however was the raita that came as a side to the biryani. All in all a great experience.
Hardeep Malhotra
Ordered Chappli Kebabs, loved the packing and delivery time but food is just average, kebabs were dry and ordinary taste, not worth the price for sure.
Bob W
Ordered through zomato on a Thursday evening; quick delivery and tasty food. Ordered the butter chicken and the rara lamb (mince and mutton pieces) Which were both actually quite tasty. Would recommend both dishes but could have done with a small portion of onions. Overall not bad and would order again.

Amazing food. Authentic Bombay cuisine.great service. Had tandoori fish which was amazing. The veg kohlapuri was delicious topped with great Ras Malai.
Tanya Ali
The food is amazing and the staff is very courteous. We ordered the fish tikka and the pieces were succulent and tasted amazing.
Try out the specials that the staff suggests they are usually great.

When it comes to food, one is totally dominated by the taste and authenticity of a dish. With great hopes I went to Bombay Urban Cafe to try 2 specific dishes that I wanted to taste at a restaurant for a very long time. One was Dal Pakwan and the other one was Jalebi with Rabdi but I found Jalebi with Vanilla Ice cream instead and settled for it. Before I review their food, I would like to mention all the other things that I really liked.

The interiors are extremely classy and the ambient lights, music and decor are picture perfect. I loved the textured walls, serving spoons and plates, food presentations, elegant chandeliers, vintage feel and soothing music. I would definitely prefer a quiet romantic dinner in such a set up. The staff is extremely courteous and welcoming but one small improvement would make it perfect, and that is not roaming around too close to a diner’s table when they are having meals because that could disturb the privacy.

The place is located in Rose Park Hotel and it literally had rose fragrance right from the lobby to the restaurant area- Very Impressive! Despite all the good things, and the quality of food being great, the flavors for me were not as expected and here are the reasons: the dal in dal pakwan was very low on salt and this is coming from my husband who is already a low salt eater so I definitely know it was quite low. I have never experienced cooked onions and garlic in this dish which is one reason it totally changed the dish for me. This dal was more like a typical Punjabi dal rather than the original one that is served with Pakwan. Secondly the Pakwan was actually more like a ‘Mathri’ and didn’t have the flavor of the authentic Pakwan at all. The second dish- Jalebi with Ice cream- the jalebi was more like ‘Imartii’ and lacked the crunch totally. Somehow it just didn’t tally with my tastebuds and the flavor I was looking out for. I would have been happier if they had already prepared the guest mentally that each of their dish mentioned on the menu would have a twist in the flavors and might not have the typical taste. When I gave my feedback about the food at the restaurant, the staff mentioned we are more popular for other things🤔 which makes me wonder why have certain things on the menu if you are not very good at it? Anyway it’s a great restaurant if you are more of an ambience conscious person but if you are flavor conscious like me then you could definitely give this place a miss.

My favorite indian restaurant in Al Barsha.
The mutton biryani, raita and papad is delicious! Big portion. Great service and timely delivery!
Prarup Chhaparwal
The restaurant ambience is amazing, gives you the proper indian feels. The portion quantity is huge and the quality is amazing. The price is perfectly defined for the quantity and quality they serve.

I was craving to have Vada Pav living in JVC I found this restaurant who delivers from Barsha.. Let’s start with good things first
Delivery 5/5
Packaging 5/5
Presentation 4/5
Quality 5/5
Price; Little Expensive
Taste 3/5

Spending 25 on Vada Pav I had very high expectations in terms of taste of food.. I will give another chance and try other food items as well..

Avoid this restaurant. Nice decor can not assure good food. Food tastes hopeless. Gol gappa has super extra salt and dal was bland and tasteless. On sharing the taste the unfriendly staff says our chef says this how dal is if u Need more salt in dal , salt is on the table and pls add extra water in gol gappa for taste
Guys I don’t review on zomato but warning ppl to not waste money on this fancy tasteless restaurant
Pragadeesh Selva
Ambience of the place is very calm and sophisticated. The location is very convenient and can be easily accessible by metro. The food is really good but some negligence lets the taste down. There is still room for improvement but the potential is huge. Will recommend this place if you want to hang out with family.

A calm and relaxed ambience greets you as you enter the restaurant. The staff are helpful and friendly. We wanted to try out the different mains and just dived straight in when the food arrived. Adraki Jhinga (prawns) is definitely recommended as is the Butter Chicken that has a nostalgic taste (similar to what we taste in India) . The garlic naans were good and my friend enjoyed the Palak Paneer Lasagne. The service was slightly slow but well worth the wait! We ended of on a high note with Gulab Jamuns.. A restaurant worth trying !! ... until we come again ..

I’m a sucker for a good Butter Chicken and Bombay Urban Cafe just knows how to fulfill that craving! Such an amazing food, great service and such a sophisticated ambience. This place is a hidden jewel in the heart of the busy Barsha. A great twist to the Bombay food, and definitely worth a visit if not more!
Prateek Gulati
The restaurant atmosphere is quite good. The food was delicious but the spice in the food was less and you can tell them to add extra spice. The veg manchow soup was good. Although on asking the server he said they serve pappad in the starting but we did not get any in the starting while i saw that the table on left was getting it served. Dal Makhani could have been little better but panner tikka masala was amazing.

So when you visit ask for the Pappad as they dont serve it without asking it.

Highly recommended and their service has been great.

We have visited twice this restaurant

We ordered

Nachos with chicken keema- so yummy.
Zafrani mutton shorba - good in taste
Butter chicken with garlic nan- different in taste but was nice
Herbed reshmi kabab tikka with potato wedges -
Quantity and taste was good
Stuffed zucchini on skewers - recommended

Dessert
Pantua- highly recommended

Must visit this place.

Quiet place, ambience elegant. I visited this place as I liked their veg menu options. Seating is spacious and comfortable. Menu books were turned and worned out, they can make it better! We had a tandoori veg platter and Palak paneer lasagna. Tandoori veg platter was delicious.. Totally recommend it. Lasagna was a bit heavy but tasty. I think it could have been presented a little more creatively. Overall good place. Quantity good enough for 2 people with good appetite.
Nithya
A very good decor with a friendly staff ! Lip smacking food . We are vegetarians and ordered palak paneer lasagna, it was so good that my husband who doesn’t prefer lasagna polished off his plate 😬 sol khadi and mint pomegranate drink was also good! Dum Biryani is worth a try. Overall a good Indian restaurant in Barsha finally!!

Great stuff.

Good vibes, nice staff and great food and chai.

I am happy and will go again.

Thank you.

There is plenty of parking available on the backside for people driving.

Over the past 2 months, we have made multiple orders from this restaurant. The food quality and quantity is very good.
We love little twist and twerks this restaurant has made on the traditional dishes.
So far we have tried : Solkadhi (was quite pungent but good), Vada pau, Beetroot kofta (so so good), butter chicken, Laal Maas, Rara Gosh (twice) and Dal Makhni.
We would give:
food : 4.5
price : 3 (could be cheaper, reasonable with discounts)
website : 2 (credit payment option not available)

Great food, Great menu selection, Great service, Great ambience.
Would really recommend the spaghetti Kheema.
Cannot recommend this place enough.

The food was average. Didn’t really enjoy the ambience either. Was kinda dead and quiet. Also the food is overpriced and the quantity is very less.

Today I tried a new place, the food, interior, staff and everything was amazing! I Loved it and I recommend it 👏🏻💯 I tried the chicken biryani and chicken kebab as well! Will definitely come again, plus I used Zomato gold which made it great!

Paid a visit here after spotting this cafe few times during my metro rides. And I must say : Impressive!

Ambience : classy! Loved the wood and green plants vibe.

Food : we had ordered the Zaffrani salmon with mushroom rissotto cake ( image attached) & Beetroot kofta curry with kulcha ( sorry no img for this one. My frnd shoved it down her throat before i could click a snap). Lemme tell u guys..the salmon was MMWAAHH! Infact, one of the best I have had. It was juicy, full of flavour n cooked just right. However, the mushroom rissotto failed to impress me. It was dry and blank. Would suggest to add a bowl of pulao or any masala rice as replacement.
Now the beetroot curry n kulcha wasn't bad at all. The curry was creamy and full of flavour. However, we were given just 2 pieces of bread (kulcha) for a large quantity of curry. Had to parcel the curry back. 2 pieces of kulcha is defintely not enough for 1 hungry tummy.

Drinks : plain chaas & masala chaas. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. Was js average. Would have given a 4 if the drinks were chilled.

Now with all this said, there were few things that put us off. Cant complete this review without mentioning those:

1 - Your DJ needs to be fired!! This might seem like a silly thing to point out, but trust me - what music you play, has a huge impact on the complete eating experinece of ur customers. It was at times sad, and at times painful to our ears.

2 - The uninvited flies 😖 Nope. Definetely did not enjoy the company of your flies on our table.

3 - The Stares!! The most annoying and untolerable fact. Sorry to say bt the staffs just keep staring. And made it so umcomfortable for us to enjoy our food, bt rather had to shove the food down our throats inorder to leave quickly. Dint even order our desserts bcz we just wanted to leave.

Work on these and Bombay Cafe - you will soon win all our desi hearts :)
Visited on a Friday evening ! Wasn’t that crowded. The service is excellent and servers are courteous. We had Vada Pav, Falafel & Beetroot Gravy with Nan. I am must say the food was all prepared fresh and pretty decent presentation. Though to be honest there are quite few options in Veg.
It’s right opposite Sharaf DG Metro Station so easy to access for people without Car. It’s a must try and the food was really good. Quite filling and decent quantity. They accept Zomato Gold so you can save some bucks there and they are quite flexible with the options in the Menu. Over all a decent dining place with good food. 4/5

I love this restaurant, they have great fusion food and close to home so it’s either a dine in or take away. But today the paneer tikka Masala was not up to the mark I’m afraid. The paneer was fresh but the tikka masala had a weird sweet after taste. Nothing like the taste of tikka. The falafel sandwich was good and pantua was mouth watering.

A bit of a disappointment as we went with huge expectations after reading several reviews. We visited on a Thursday afternoon and ordered nachos with chicken tikka kheema, butter chicken with naan and herbed reshmi tikka (chicken). Firstly, I understand maintaining a long menu on an off day is difficult but that can easily be replaced with daily special menu and few common snackers. The nachos weren’t in-house, probably Doritos (my apologies in advance as I am not sure), the dips weren’t fresh, avocado & salsa dips were just got out of the refrigerator and tasted sour. The raita, green chutney and onion chutney served with reshmi tikka was similar so that spoiled the experience.

For the good part - Reshmi tikka was well grilled, and the whole combo with potato wedges was quite bold

Butter chicken I would rate - 3.5/5, it was surely brilliant but of course missed the authentic taste (I’d blame the unavailability of soulful ingredients and fresh chicken here; understandable). Again freshness in doubt :)

Naan was superb and made with passion.

Presentability of food is commendable

Hospitality of the staff was appreciated. Due to some mix up they brought all ordered dishes together. But later kept the main course away till we could finish out starters and ensured it was brought back nice and hot.

Bottomline, I’d surely like to pay another visit. Probably on a Thursday night or Friday afternoon in hopes that this place would live up to its expectations and I’d gladly recommend it to many Indian food lovers within my network.

Cheers!
Pricy for no reason!!! Ordered cappuccino and it was tasteless , small water bottle is 7 dhs :( , which is only 1 dh outside !!!! Never visiting this place again !!!

Visited this restaurant recently i got one word for it 'wow'. They serve some fine fusion dishes where most of the dishes we tried were delicious. The nachos with chicken keema, mix platter, zaffrani mutton soup, & shawarma fried chicken dumplings are some of their must try dishes. Will definitely visit here again soon.

Pros: quick service, friendly staff, quantity quality, reasonable rates, ambience, value for money.
cons;

If there was an option I would rate this place a 4.5/5. It was indeed an experience I relished thoroughly.

Bombay Urban is one of those cafes in Dubai that is a mix of vintage and contemporary in terms of decor. With the wooden furniture at the backdrop and beautiful chandeliers and ceiling lights, the decor is a combination of past and present. The menu has dishes that are modified in terms of presentation and mix, but the taste remains authentic and delicious.

I was invited for a tasting session, and my only regret is I didn't go sooner. The food was freshly prepared and the same could be felt in taste and quality.

What I gobbled here:-

1. Solkadhi: HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This fusion of Konkan and Goan beverage was a refreshing drink, and definitely, one that keeps you wanting for more after every sip. The pink color was a treat to the eyes and with coconut milk as the base and the flavor of Kokum, this makes for a perfect summer beverage. (A digestive that works perfectly for ending the meal)

2. Vada Pav Burger: The classic vada pav patty enveloped in a burger and a side serving of green chilies and a home-made jeers chutney. A bite full of this dish with the chutneys was a delight. The mini-pav burgers are filling and wholesome and the vada was cooked perfectly and had a nice comforting flavor. (we finished this dish, so that speaks for how much we enjoyed it)

3. Oriental Vegetables in Pastry: This was presented beautifully. The pastry was soft and crunchy and the fillings within were generous, one where the taste of the sauce in the filling was nice too. It was square shaped and could be gulped in two big bites.

4. Potato and Leek Sarr: While this was a soup that had a distinct flavor of leeks and one that can suit all taste buds, I personally preferred the cold beverages to this hot one, given the scorching heat outside. The kafir leaves drizzled on top, makes the soup look comforting

5. Beetroot Kofta Curry with Kulcha: Another dish, that tasted nice. The rich gravy, soft beetroot koftas were a melt in the mouth. The kulchas were freshly prepared and when they arrived at our table, the texture was so soft and melt in the mouth.

6. Palak Paneer Lasagne: This fusion dish is a must try for people who love palak paneer and lasagne. The lasagne sauce was delicious and the palak paneer flavor was present in moderation. A dish that was rightly balanced and flavourful.

7. Jalebi: The crispy hot jalebis looked like a delight. But honestly, this was a slight disappointment. The jalebis were a bit thick and not perfect roundels one would expect. Nonetheless, the ice-cream that it came accompanied with tasted fresh and home-made. I could skip this dessert on my next visit.

Overall, an experience that made me left craving for more solkadhi and main course dishes. The chef sure knows how to whip up food fulfills cravings and brings satisfaction.

Definitely visiting again.

I visited on a Friday for lunch with my family, a group of 5. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice, the wood panels, light fixtures and general decor is warm and inviting.

We we're greeted immediately and shown to a table. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. When we requested for another table as we felt a bit warm due to the proximity to the main door, we we're immediately moved to another table. The Khubz was made fresh, but more like a naan that actual Arabic Khubz.

We ordered the following -

Lal Maas with Arabic sides and Khubz - the Lal Maas was very flavourful and robust. The meat was tender, and the flavour of the fat and bones was very apparent in the gravy. The Arabic sides were Hummus, Moutabal and a Cucumber dip. The sides we're not very memorable, and did nothing to enhance or compliment the Lal Maas.

Butter chicken with garlic naan - The butter chicken was sweet, and tasted mostly of spices (cinnamon, cloves). Garlic naan was soft and flaky.

Tawa fried King Fish with curry - though the menu specifically mentions that the curry is a 'Goan fish curry', there was nothing Goan or Fishy about it. The gravy was a coconut based curry, but with no fish flavour or fish in it. This was confirmed by the server, who stated that it was just a 'Goan coconut' curry, with no fish in it. The King fish slice was generously portioned. Unfortunately, it was overcooked, resulting in a very firm texture. The masala for the fried fish was not very flavourful. The tempered rice was bland.

Tandoori prawns with condiments platter - 8 pieces of tandoori prawns with raita and salad. The marinade of the prawns was very flavourful, the balance of the methi and mustard along with char from the tandoor really imparted a lot of flavour in the prawns. Unfortunately, the prawns were a bit overcooked, resulting in a slightly chewy texture.

Peach and Basil cocktail - initially, it tasted only of the basil, with no other flavors at all. The server immediately took away he drink and returned after adding more peach to it. We did not really enjoy the combination of Peach and Basil, but that's just personal preference.

Let me start by saying that the overall impression I had was one of real, proper care for the outcome of the meals coming out of this kitchen. I was compelled to place a review after just a few tastes of the Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken and Kichdi I ordered.

The biryani was an ode to the rice itself. Fluffy, tender and beautifully coated in mix of spices. Along with chunky soft potatoes, a whole egg was a surprise if simply for the fact that it was perfectly cooked; not a grey ring in sight. All in all, the texture, balance of flavour, measured use of salt meant that every mouthful was a pleasure. It is telling that I expound of all of its nuances without mentioning the actual chicken. Nicely done.

The kichdi was lovely with deeply savoury notes of fried onions. Comfort in a bowl.

Butter chicken with garlic naan. Rich but not vulgarily so. Tender meat and lush gravy. Thin naans speckled with golden shards of garlic. My kids went Gaga and that’s saying a lot!

I am eyeing the Lal Mas for round 2. The combination looks intriguing.

The only thing I regret, bitterly, is not ordering a dessert. It would have been the perfect end. Just more to look forward to next time.

Keep up the excellent work! I’ll be cheering you on.

From full of my heart I love Goan food and Recently I visited a restaurant which serves the Bombay and Goa food with a little of their own touch to them. It is Bombay Urban Cafe which is located in Al Barsha, opposite to Sharaf DG metro station. Bombay Urban have a beautiful interiors which will take you to Portuguese houses in Goa. The crystal chandeliers, wall design, antique window hanged as a wall art.

The chutney was stale, like literally stale.. was even smelling. The food quality is not great. Nothing wrong with service but the quality of food is a serious concern. Food is extremely heavy with oil and masalas but still lacks taste.

Had ordered Jeera rice & Methi Matar Malai. Being a vegetarian there weren't many options to choose from. However, the food I ordered was quite good & tasty. Also the delivery was quite prompt.

Place is really nice, compare to other places you might find starters are really expensive. However there starters are really good completely different experience at all. You can try there vada pav, solkadi really a good taste.
For main course I have tried there chicken butter, chicken kadai, dal tadaka and falafel kadhi.
Falafel curry and chicken kadhai which I like for main course.
Being Foodie
Recently, someone asked me to check out Bombay Urban Cafe and it was a good thing that I did. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted very warmly by the staff. They had a perfectly laid out table , the center of which was reminiscent of small street side cafes found in Bombay. They had a very unique interior wall which gave the effect of being seated in a courtyard as the wall had many colorful windows on it. Jazzy tunes filled the air which livened up the ambience of the place.

The chef had prepared a special set menu for us with few of their their signature dishes in every course. Their concept behind the menu is fusion Indian food with a touch of local Arabic cuisine. We were served a cold soup, mocktails, starters, mains and dessert.

SOUP
Solkadhi - This was a cold Indian soup which acted as an appetite stimulant because of its ingredients such as Garcinia Indica also known as Kokum (mostly used in Goan and Coastal Indian Cuisines). The base was coconut milk and served with tempered cumin seeds and asafetida (hint). The soup had a different taste but it was too overwhelming for us.

MOCKTAILS
1 Peach Tree Punch - This was a very interesting drink with a combination which I hadn’t tried before. It was a mix of Peach, Orange and Coconut Milk. I am not a big fan of peachy drinks but this was very very good.
2 Bombay Blast - This is their signature drink and it looked very beautiful too. It had some of my favorite ingredients for a mock tail I.e. strawberries, banana, orange and coconut milk.
3 Chocolate Milkshake - This was specially served for Izaan and he really enjoyed drinking it with his food.

APPETIZERS
1 Nachos with Chicken Tikka Kheema - This was their take on the usual loaded nachos. It’s so loaded and full of flavor with yummy chicken tikka kheema, sour cream and cream cheese. It’s served on a bed of lettuce and the ingredients were complementing each other perfectly.
2 Vada Pav- The traditional Bombay street food served like sliders here was a very refreshing twist to the spicy vada pav,. The dish consisted of fried potato dumplings which are tempered with kadipatta (curry leaves), cumin and fenugreek seeds. These were served with Lao bread and a spicy chutney.
3 Assorted Mixed Grill - This was an Indianised version of mixed grill with an assortment of different meats grilled to perfection in an Tandoor. The platter is served with an option for 4 people or 8 people. The plate consisted of Chicken Tandoori, Kalimirch Kebab, Grilled Lamb Chops, Grilled Prawns & Achari Fish Tikka. These were served with condiments of chutneys and salad.

MAIN COURSE
1 Lal Maas with Arabic Twist - Lal Maas is one of my favorite Rajasthani dishes because it has Mutton and. Red gravy which is my favorite combination. This was served with Arabic condiments like Hummus, Fattoush Salad and Tzatki . The dish was also served with fresh Arabic Pita. The hummus tasted so good with the gravy that I ended up eating more of that with the bread than the meat itself.
2 Lucknow Chicken Biryani - The perfect biryani according to us is Rice, Chicken/meat and potatoes in them and this was a great example of that. The biryani had balanced spices and chicken to rice ratio. It was served with cucumber raita. The biggest biryani critic is my husband and he gave a big thumbs up for the biryani.

DESSERTS
Ras Malai - This is a favorite desi dessert. It consists of sweet cottage cheese dumplings served in saffron milk with pistachio flakes.

The service was on point and all the servers and the welcome staff was very pleasant all through the meal. We were served by Rahul most of the time and he was explaining each and every dish before serving and made sure we had a wonderful dining experience.

They just launched their website and have some offers going on if u order on their website for home delivery.

Zomato Gold Offer : 1 + 1 on food

Taste : 4.5/5

Ambience/ Decor : 4/5

Service: 5/5

Value for Money : 4/5

Good for only non veg lovers. Service is slow nd pathetic. We ordered Dal Makhni, which was sweet. Chicken nd mutton dishes were good. Jalebi with ice cream took hell lot of time and jalebi wasnt even hot. Wont recommend or go there again !

Had an absolutely fantastic time at @bombayurban feasting on all my favourite contemporary Indian food! Didn't realise how much I needed this desi tadka with a modern twist.
Everything off their menu is bursting with flavours

This is the second time we’ve visited this place and there are a few items on the menu that are a must try. The sol Kadi, vadapav, crispy veg and chicken masala are he highlights of this place.. the chicken Masala comes with thick spicy gravy and is by far their best creation. The servers are very friendly and even remembered us from our previous visit. All in all a great experience and will definitely be going back again..

Paranthas and garlic naan were great but the Dal Makhni was not good also coloured.

I can recommend the breakfast buffet at Bombay Urban.

They have a good range of beef cold cuts available with them, along with Indian choices. My clear favorites were the locally found labneh, humus, khubus, the beef sausage and the flavored yogurt.

Not to forget the extremely courteous staff, who are very polite with their service and can get specials from the kitchen, on request :)

This restaurant has the perfect balance of ‘authenticity’ and ‘fusion’. Hubby and I have been to the restaurant twice in the span of two weeks. We can’t wait to go back again. The food is great and the hospitality is even warmer. Thank you Grovel!

Bombay Urban cafe - Walked in with no expectations; walked out eating & relishing delicious food which makes me scream out loud to everyone - you need to try out their scrumptious dishes.

We had ordered several dishes - Nachos with chicken tikka kheema, chicken calzone pizza, vada paav sliders, spaghetti aglio-e-olio & Lal Maas. All dishes were delicious but let me praise the dishes which I personally loved.

From the appetizers I tasted the Nachos with chicken tikka kheema hit my taste-buds like a rocket. This dish was bursting with flavor .First of all I already love nachos with cheese. Imagine it combined with spicy chicken kheema! It a winning combination & I really wish this sort of Nacho served in a cinema because it’s extremely tasty.

In the main course I loved the Laal Mass with Arabic sides & khubz. Lal Maas is a Rajhistani dish & the best way I can describe is it’s like the Kashmiri dish rogan josh but on steroids. The dish blends well with freshly baked khubz (Arabic bread) & Arabic sides of mutabbal, hummus & olives. The mutton is extremely soft & the gravy is a spicy delight.

We ended our meal with freshly made jalebi's along with vanilla ice cream. The jablebis were nectarous, sweet & crispy! Hot jaleblis with cold ice cream is a winning combo.

Urbanized mumbai street food can be found here! You are in a mood to try something out of the ordinary, BUC is the place for you. When my husband and I came here, we weren't too hungry, although that didn't deter us from trying a couple of items in their menu.
Here's what we had:
- Palak Paneer Lasagne : Cheesyyy heaven this one. Would have liked more spice though.
- Beetroot Kofta Curry : Different combo makes it likable to the palette.
- Vada Pav : Loved it!
A special mention needs to go to the cheerful staff. They recommend with caution and serve with joy!

Food - awesome

Drinks - super Cool

Fusion - unmatched

Will I go again yes

The staff was very kind and helpful

Only thing which i don’t like is parking issues at this place and its somehow always empty which gives slightly negative vibes

We don't have much options when it come to Indian food in JVC... but now khalass!!! My wife enjoyed her chicken byriani so much, I had my usual butter chicken with jasmin rice and naan. It was delicious. Happy to have found a place to have our Indian fix!

Best Indian food in town!
we ordered the papdichad, vada pav, kuri kuri kabab, batata harra and many more. I loved all the dishes very delicious! Very tasty! But my favourite is the vada pav and the nachos with chicken tikka! Sooo delicious.
Definitely a must try!!

Went there for lunch today with family. Soon as we entered we were greeted by the staff who took us to our table to be seated. The plush interiors really grabbed my attention - 10/10 for that! 👌🏻 the place is pretty spacious but since it’s a weekday hardly 2-3 tables were occupied.
We ordered kalimirch chicken kebab, Moroccan lamb with masala pulao, tawa fried kingfish with curry and rice, butter chicken with garlic naan and drinks. We were first served some papad and the rest followed soon after! Everything was equally good. The food was hot and well presented!! I was quite surprized with the Moroccan lamb dish...it’s basically lamb and chickpea curry spread on a bed of basmati mixed in spices and caramelized onions....it was something unique so I’d say this one’s a must try ! 🌟The only negative thing I’ll say is that the fish wasn’t fresh for sure 😋
The staff used to come and ask us if we liked the food and if we wanted anything else. So then we ordered 2 cutting chai and it was really kind of them to serve it to us in 5 cups instead . Alsoo, the best part is that they gave us carrot halwa that tooo complimentaryyyyyyy! And it was delicious!! Was totally surprized since they don’t have It on their menu 😋😁

So overall I’d say love the interiors, love that they have some unique items in the menu, friendly staff, quality of the food is also gooood, soooo only downside is the price of the food!

Service - 10/10
Food - 9/10
Ambiance - 9/10

The decor here is really quirky, love the tiled floor and multi coloured shutters on the back wall. The staff provide a warm welcome and are on hand to offer suggestions/ help with the menu.

The main reason we chose to try this place out was the unique menu options such as the spaghetti with hyderbadi keema, i love love love having leftover curry with pasta at home so it made me really happy and a bit curious when i saw it on the menu. The dish is really visually appealing when it comes out (too excited to eat it so didnt end up taking any pics!) and the flavours do not disappoint. The mix of italian and indian flavours really compliment each other. The portion size is also really good! My hubby didnt fancy anything indian to eat so he went for the veggie burger which he was really happy with too. The juices we had were also really great and refreshing.

Definitely will be returning, cant say I will want to try anything else on the menu as I will just want the spaghetti and keema again!

This an edit to a previous review.
The restaurant realised the marinade for the kebabs was infact salty, and called the same evening and had the order replaced. Kebabs were much much better the 2nd time, tender and flavourful. Good customer service as well. Rating would have been a 5 had it not been for the salty food the 1st time.

Ordered a mixed grill for 2, with reasonably high expectations, after reading the reviews. A little expensive but was impressed with the quantity. As to the flavour, I will never now how good it was, as it was masked by the extremely high salt content in every kebab! Food was almost inedible because of that, salt overpowered every other flavour. What a shame and a waste of food and money.

Ordered for the first time, delivery was fast, good portions and taste outstanding! Every dish had a different flavor. They gave a lot of papads, too which was very crispy.
They should put a warning that a dish could be spicy (like the beetroot kofta) as my son put in his mouth and spat it out due to the green chilies! Rotis got a bit chewy, too.

We visited the restaurant yesterday, and overall staff, service, food was good. Big disappointment from the jalebis!! Poor taste, not pure ghee, avoid if you can- it leaves a bad taste from start! Same goes for kurkure veg starters- no taste!

Super fast delivery.

Ordered:
Mutton Lucknowi Dum Biryani with Burhani Raita - very very tasty and it even had an egg in it. The mutton was super tender and still piping hot.
Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan - insanely good Butter chicken, and who would have thought to pair it with a garlic nan, the nan doesn't overpower the butter chicken at all. Its almost like they have made it to complement each other.

Very well done guys.

Only down side is the cost. It is quite pricey for what you get.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food was so good, especially the palak paneer lasagne. The portions were good enough for two. Worth the value. The staff were very polite. Will definitely come bck to try more of their fusion dishes!

Simple yet modern place.
Great fusion of Indian flavors and modern cuisine.
Had been a couple of times, Zomato Gold helps to have repeat trips 😉.
Have had beetroot kofta, Dal Tadka, Naan and malabari paratha - loved the food and paratha.
Drinks are really good and refreshing.
Veg- Puff has great flavors with house made sechzwan sauce.

The pav bhaji was simply delicious!!! So yummy ❤️
Urban cafe located right across a metro station in Barsha, serving some mouth- watering flavors of Indian/ Arabic cuisine, I was super impressed with the concept of Falafel Kadhi (why didnt I think of this before)..I am yet to try this kadhi though.

What we had:
Tomato Soup (average-ish)
Jalapeno Cheese Poppers (too too good)
Stuffed Zucchini on Skewars (unheard of, tasted really nice)
Vada Pav (Veg Slider, mumbai style. Absolutely a must-have)
Beetroot kofta in gravy (wonderful twist, but I will always prefer malai kofta anyday)
Assorted Indian Breads
Palak Paneer Lasagne (OMG! Not every place serves VEG lasagne, so Bombay Urban has got me on this one)
Mango Lassi
Strawberry Mango Coconut Mocktail (once again, super impressed with strawberry and coconut combo)
Pomegranate Lemon Mint
Shahi Tukda (crunchy and right amount of sweet)

All in all a fab dining experience. The staff is so friendly, very accomodating with the kids, they even got my son a little plate of strawberries drizzled with chocolates just cos they heard him say how much he loves strawberries. Very thoughful of them. While I was there, I noticed the place was buzzing with deliveries going out every now and then. So a popular place, if you are in Barsha then call them right away and order some tasty dishes with a unique flavor.

And I am coming back for some Falafel Kadhi soon..
