(التعليق الأصلي) A very disappointed and bad food experience. The food standard was overall below average. The lady asked me whether I want yoghurt and I made a terrible mistake of saying yes. She charged me for the yoghurt too, which tasted horrible. The counter service wasn’t all that good either. The price was not that cheap. The food presentation wasn’t good. It is inside a food court so I couldn’t give any points for environment or seating. There was no where that I could find excuse to give a higher rating. This version was heavy and with a lot of curd making it an average dish for us. 3. Dahi Puri: These were soggy and drowned with so much yogurt that you could not taste the puri itself. For those who love the overdose of yogurt, you will like these better. If, the yoghurt is reduced this could turn out to be a better dish. 4. Sliders: All the sliders tasted average. A nice addition to the menu but still needs to be worked on in terms of flavor. All three patties were crisp, which we liked but everyone’s common ingredient was mashed potato which might have pulled out the WOW factor for them. 5. Sweet Lassi: This was a refreshing drink, only thing we didn’t like about it was the elaichi in it. Other than that, it was a good drink. 6. Salted Lassi: This would have passed the test only if the salt was not excessively used. We could not consume it because of too much salt. 7. Lemon Mint: This was completely unbalanced drink, it was more of a mint leaf drink rather than the combination. There was no flavor or taste of lemon whatsoever. Also, with time the drink changed its color as well for which no warning was given beforehand. Hence, we would recommend not to try this drink out. 8. Mango Lassi: Lassi was pretty good! It had a sweet balance of the mango flavor. Tasted fresh and delicious. Would be a good choice when making a visit here. 9. Vegetable Platter: This was a plate combining the best vegetable grills available. It included, corn seekh kebab, hariyali kebab, and paneer tikka. In our case the corn was undercooked and we thought if there was cheese added to the dish it would have been a lot better. So this would be another miss for us. It was our bad luck or I could say we were really hungry that we wanted to try something Indian and so we though of taking a thali and chole bhature from here. They give you thali for 27 bucks with just 1 roti and dal, chole and sabji you we ordered was tasteless it felt like we are patients and we have to eat such a meal as per some doctors advise. The chole in bhature were same and it was again the worst thing to order from. Another most important this is water, they charge 8 dhs for water an image there are other place in food court which charges you 3 or max 5dhs. I mean who charges 8 dhs for water. We will not recommend you to order from this place. At first we wanted to eat pav bhaji and samosa chaat which was on the menu but not available and so we didn't have choice but to eat thali and chole bhature.

We just drop into Dubai mall during the weekend into the food court we wanted to avoid Mc donalds, Pizza hut and Hardee’s so Shamiana was a great alternative for us. First we ask for pav bhaji than they said it’s not available and then the most annoying part was when we ask for samosa chaat they said that was too unavailable then we ended up ordering veg thali and chole bhature which was disaster there was no taste at all, Food was blend have eaten much better food in a half a price of this.<br/><br/>Service – the service is a sore point of this place. It wasn’t even that bad. Could be a bit better though. The food is a bit on the pricier side imagine the small water bottle cost was aed 8 it generally comes for max aed 2.

The Biryani was Amazing!!!

We were in dubai mall food court. We ordered food from this outlet of shamiana. Pav bhaji and fish tikka rice was okay but i did not like the biryani meal combo much.

I ordered for veg thali it was horrible.

We ordered Chole Bhture & pav bhai. Chole was really horrible full of oil in gravy. Pav Bhaji was average.

Shamiana is a good restaurant to have mumbai street food. Had been to their other outlets in Ibn Battuta mall, this was my second visit to this ibn battuta outlet.<br/><br/>We tried their chole bature, chicken tawa katti rolls and pav bhaji which my friend and i enjoyed. It was bit spicy but was good to taste.

Every other Outlet gives 3 bature but in Dubai Mall it is only 2. I asked them why and they said no everywhere else it is 2.

i order just one mutton and 2 pepsi. they send it without any veg and bread. and on the bill 2 pepsi is 14 dirham. plus vat 🤢 and plus 5 aed for zoomato. they are totaly mad if they sell expensive food and don't adding any bread

Been visiting here a couple of times, where we usually order the staff meal. The food here is pretty good, but i hated the attitude of the phillipino lady during lunch time. We ordered for the combo which comes with a naan, butter chicken and lemon mint drink. The lady gave me a bottle of water and when i requested her to provide me with a lassi instead, she had the audacity to ask me if this was the first time i am ordering or no, and that she can only give me lemon mint. An affordable Indian Food option at the Dubai Mall Food Court. <br/> <br/>I have tried out their Butter Chicken and Naan, Pav Bhaji, Chole Bhature and Vegetarian Biriyani.  <br/>The butter chicken here is great, I also quite enjoyed their Chole Bhature.  <br/>Pav Bhaji was the best amongst all, the Pav toasted in butter/ghee with the spicy Bhaji was just too irresistible.  <br/>The Biriyani was quite average.  <br/> <br/>I like the prices here, affordable and the service is good.

Such a disappointment, I went looking for some good desi food and instead got this disgrace. Not only did I have to wait 15 minutes past the time they gave me, but there was no taste in the food and 2 of the pieces of chicken were undercooked! The meal didn't even have everything that they showed on the picture and definitely didn't taste like it was supposed to. All in all a dredful experience, never eating there again.

On our visit to dubai mall, we had lunch from Shamiana tandoori and Indian Cuisine from level 2 food court. They serve really great food and worth for money. You should try any combos they offer. Rice and chicken dishes are recommended. Weekends will be very busy

Ordered the biryani meal for 2 today and it was terrible, except for the samosas. The butter chicken, not jus in this branch, in every branch of theirs is so watery!! The biryani was tasteless n stale! Really disappointed with the food n this isn't the 1st time!! Not going back for sure!!

While on our visit to The Dubai Mall, we tried the Chicken Kati Roll from Shamiana. It was nice but was overloaded with a tomato based sauce, which wasn't very overwhelming.

This Indian food restaurant is a total let down.<br/>First of all their food is horrible, cold and tasteless. They just microwaved the food and served in a very unkind manner.<br/>Secondly,they don’t know how to talk to their customers. Clearly the worst of all shamiana outlets..the staff also impolite and they are unsure of their own stuff.. once we ordered regular chaas as it said on the menu and we instead got very spicy masala chaas.. and they just refuse to even acknowledge that its not the same thing.. overall food is better in other outlets. If you are in Dubai mall food court there are many good options than this!

With the shopping the good and quick food makes it perfect. Enjoy the vegetarian and non vegetarian combo options from them. I do recommend this place

I have clearly had much better experiences at Shamiana's other outlets and at this one too. But the service and tea yesterday was a total letdown and to an extent that it has compelled me to rate this fast food joint a 1. I merely don't rate any restaurant a 1 star unless they have been exceptionally incompetent in food taste, quality, and service. <br/>The outlet had a long queue and we only stopped by for a quick cup of masala tea. The server at the cashier counter was rude and unprofessional and upon mentioning we need two masala teas and placing exact amount of cash in his hand, he wasn't even aware of the prices of masala tea and asked me for additional dirham without mentioning that he would give me a 5 aed bill in return, and behaved as if the customer is wrong to ask anything. When someone serves me food with a frown, it really impacts my experience.<br/><br/>The tea arrived in ten minutes and was lukewarm. When requested that we want it hot, they made us wait another ten minutes and gave us the new tea without even straining it. It was such a disappointment that even after a humble request was made, the service and food quality only deteriorated.<br/>One thing I am certain about, not visiting this outlet ever again.

We have visited alot of malls within U.A.E and have seen this restaurant alot of times and wanted to try their resraurant. We tried their chole bature which were pretty decent in taste as well as it being expensive for its taste. Overall would visit again for other Indian dishes.

Had their famous mutton biryani in food court. It was very oily and the meat was not well done it was literally half cooked that ruined the taste of rice even though rice were spicy n had gud flavour

Been to this place at food court, well nothing much could be expected, mutton which I ordered was not tender and it seemed to be little smelly (might be because of lamb meat too). Breads the only thing which was cooked their or you could say freshly baked was not done up to the mark, bread was thick and due to which it seems to be raw from many sides.

The dubai mall outlet of shamiana is just a run down version of indian food. First of all the staff is arrogant like they are a Michelin star restaurant. Food on the other hand is just microwave heated stuff. Watery bhaji, dry paav, jumbled up biryani<br/>..We ended up buying our food again from mcdonalds as this was just inedible.

We have many Shamiana’s across UAE and the best thing about them is the food taste and quality which is similar across the country. My wife and cousin like tikka rice and i like combo meal here.

Shamiana is a total waste of time n money visited there Dubai Mall outlet ordered masala tea n waited for 15 minuets to get the tea .. was told that flit is getting ready expected it to be warm it was ice cold . Also ordered pav bhaji that was also served cold though pav are supposed to be made on Oder n should be hot . Very bad experience Also saw other people complaining food to b cold . Please avoid visiting .

This Indian cuisine restaurant is very good, as the flavors are well presented in each dish.. the breads are very good and delicious, the Indian sauces and the stews are very nice.. <br/>a well budget restaurant and they offer buying by piece.

The only two things I love to eat is chicken tandoori and shamiana chicken Tikka naan...as these two comes with the real good taste and they seriously either make a scrumptious meal or a dinner..the pricing is reasonable for such big pieces of tandoori...the service is good..among the desserts I have just tried gulab Jamun and mango lassi..

Tried this outlet twice. Pretty average both of the times. Samosas were nice but cold. I didn't like the biryani rice and it was also cold. The fish tikka was very dry.

Had non veg chicken thali Indian meal. Quantity and rate wise they are serving absolute value for money. It's more than enough for a single person at AED 32. Only improvement in taste is needed by the restaurant. However, chicken tikka taste was fabulous except the chicken curry served with the meal.

This place never fails to impress me. During my recent visit I tried their newly launched Value Meals. Just for AED 18 they serve 2 pcs kabab, one side dish gravy (I preferred to have their famous chana masala), along with filling portion of biryani rice and freshly made tandoori roti. And yes, they have added a drink too in this new value meal. They have other pocket friendly options too in the Value Meals category which I plan to try soon :)

Quantity of food is very less as compared to the prices. However, the food taste was very good. We ordered chicken tikka biriyani and non veg thali combo. Both the dishes were tasty with Indian flavours. I wouldn't go again as the quantity is too less.

One of the very few food outlet that serves indian food in dubai mall.We tried to give it a shot and ordered veg meal combo and chhole bhature.<br/><br/>Seemed like the food was cooked by some amateur chef. Bhature was very very oily, chhole was little too over on the saltier side. Rice were not hot.<br/>I am sure its the Last time i ate here.

The staff were quick and open to give answers about food as my wife has a nut allergy. Food was very tasty full of flavor portions were generous. Fast paced for a busy dubai mall food court and they were open during Ramadan.

The staff of Shamiana here is rude. I ordered for a Vegetarian thali, and they forgot to serve some of the ingredients like raita, papad etc. I had to remind them for the same, and instead of regretting their mistake, they gave me the looks as if not to show my face again.

After a very tiring walk around the mall, having such a filing non veg platter made me feel like a satisfied customer. The platter had two varieties of chicken and Two piece mutton which had enough gravy and were tasty. However raita should be served along and even a drink. Talking about the fish meal combo it was horrible, there were only two piece fish and three small pieces of prawns and rear platter filled with rice, quiet a disappointment I must say. They really need to work on their sea food combo.

Never been a fan of Shamiana, but having lived in Mumbai my sister's intense craving for pav bhaji got us here. Though it looked like what we ordered, I really don't know what we got. The pav was topped with burnt onions that really gave an aftertaste, but the bhaji tasted like something a beginner chef made.<br/><br/>I'm​ just not coming back.

You either find a shamiana or a BC or both in most of the malls and both offer similar cuisine; but BC defintely takes the cake.<br/><br/>Shamiana I won't say is bad, it's a pretty average place with okayish food, not very tasty, just fine. I must say their samosa and onion pakoda is really good. I have tried their veg platter, didn't like anything except the paneer. The kebabs were hard, not even tasty.<br/><br/>Coming to their combos, all their non veg gravy's taste the same and they are very average. Their veg is too oily and you see the same menu always (mostly) like their chana and paneer sabzi.<br/><br/>Their tea is nice.<br/><br/>Average rating. I prefer BC over this.<br/>

Ordered the seafood combo at the food court in the mall. The food preparation took time however, the fish tikka was really hard and tasteless. The prawn curry had very little gravy and I had to request saved keep waiting for a little gravy. Still the rice were too dry as the gravy and dal were too less. There prawn was average however the rice were better. They also serve a little curd with it which was average.

Hit and miss! The non veg combo is ok but it lacks enough meat, you only get two or three niblets! Samosa and Masala tea is good, and Gulab jamuns are tasty.

I've been here a couple of times but I haven't experienced something negative from their staff. Also, they serve pre-cooked meals so expect that when the food gets cold they might have it microwaved. I rate them 4.0 based on my experience every time I visit and because they have the best buttered chicken I have ever tasted (I've been ordering the same thing every time so I don't want to be bias)

If no customers have bought anything in a while then yes the food will be sitting for a while and could even be cold. <br/><br/>Of course the staff makes no attempt to warm it up or bring it to the back to recook it or event cook a new batch. Had the chicken biryani combo here. The biryani was good. Naan was average not very fresh. And the salad was horrible smelly at least couple of days old maybe... it recommended!

Ordered the Butter Chicken and Naan. The butter chicken was very tasty and has a perfect Indian taste to it unlike some restaurants. The portions are pretty good but the prices are pretty high.

I'm sorry but this place has a 2.1 rating on Zomato for a reason. I wish I had read some of the reviews before trying them. The food was very heavy and drenched with oil and didn't taste nice. On top of that, the person who took my order was cold and not very welcoming. Never going back.

Samosas are so good...vegetarian thali is good too...chicken is tempting from the outside but inside its all white...so I don't prefer that...but overall an average place

I had my worst dinner experience here . We ordered the chicken biryani and tandoori chicken half . <br/>Chicken biryani was cold , seemed old. It was topped with 4 pieces of chicken tikka which was soaked in color . <br/>Salads , curd and papad needs to be ordered separately. The cold biryani costs you 29 dhs . <br/><br/>Tandoori chicken was also cold . Both the dishes were directly served on to the plate from the display tray. <br/>On request we got the tandoori chicken reheated , which tasted even bad after heating . Again this too was soaked in color . 29 dhs<br/><br/>We were thoroughly disappointed with our experience here . Never ever going back here .

Its an average place to indulge your taste in Indian and Mughlai food .I have tried the mix grill platter with naan .The portion is quiet big and the grills are average tasting although it lacks the quality of the best grills .<br/><br/>

Ordered the veg combo for lunch. The quantity was extremely less for the high price i paid. I literally got 2 table-spoons of 2 subzi's. The subzi's were also dripping in oil and full of colour chemical. Daal was tasteless. The only saving grace was the tandoori naan, which also looked like made from white flour and not whole wheat flour. Highly disappointed.

The most worst dining experiences in dubai mall.. we ordered there veg combo what we got was chole qith a very heavy dose of lime taste...guys its chole ...it more or lrss cooks itself..how cud u have screwd one of thr simplest dishes to make...but it dosent stop there...there was also a mix vegetabl gravy which had a distinct raw taste to it...they had simply boiled the veges and droped em in yellow mixture of masla.. so it was bad...i gurss everyone makes a mistake right..but atleast when u are confronted with the displeasure ur customer faced with the distasteful serving...have the courtesy to apologise or offer a replacement...but no ...the guy at the serving counter was admant everything is fine...i even asked him to taste some id he didn't belive me...he did taste it and goes on to say no nothing is wrong...now i understand that hotel food might not always be to one's liking.. but ive had chole at a a million places before they aren't as haphazardly cooked as was here...we also had the odasity to order a mango lassi...more like yellow water sugar...nowherr like a lassi...in the end it was bad service even worst attitude of the staff and what they served was not food rather a lazy attemt to cash in on being the only veg joint in dubai mall

Well this os the umpteenth time i order at any shamiana restaurant at various malls, so one thing i know is that consistency isnt really thier strong point. This time was the worst .i ordered for a veg kabab guldasta which is usually very good and mostly consistent (unlike their curries). On tasting the first bite i discovered that the corn kababs were raw from the inside. Took the plate back and after bickering with the waiter for 2 or 3 minutes , he got the chef to recook them a bit more. His attitide was very rude , (tryimg to tell me that it is cheese inside and hence its soft, see it is black outside.)nonetheless he got it redone. On going back to my table i discovered that the hara bhara kababs were raw from the inside too. Each one of them. Just totally raw. Didnt go back as bickering for food isnt my idea of a good meal and juat bought a subway sandwich instead. <br/>Notable here is that the same person also gave a wrong drink to another cuatomer in front of me. Bickered that it was not his fault. The client gave up and accepted the wrong beverage with a sigh. They could have just filled him a glass of sprite like he wanted !

After walking for many hours in The Dubai Mall (There’s a reason for “The” in the name and i.e. it is the largest mall by area in the world), I was looking for a place for Indian food or more specifically vegetarian food and I saw Shamiana at the food court. Shamiana is one of the brand owned by HotBrands International part from Magic Wok, Santinos, Sugoi, Salathai and some more which got established in 1992. They seem to have more than 60 outlets as of now.<br/><br/>To start with the staff didn’t seem interested and I waited for quite some time to place the order which was a Vegetarian Combo. Although most of the stuff is ready to serve it took time before they served my order.<br/><br/>The quantity was good enough for one person, as far as the taste goes one shouldn’t expect it to be what you are used to. Dal Makhni was decent, Paneer was orange and it seemed it was artificially coloured, Roti was ok and so was the Raita.<br/><br/>Since I don’t think we have more than five options for Indian food at The Dubai Mall this can be tried if you are hungry however the restaurant can really work on the taste and not use any artificial colour.

This place for some reason is losing its charm. I can see the quantity of food slowly reducing. Quality is also not that great. I miss the way this restaurant used to be bak in the day

They have good variety given its in a food court.. The food is okay.... Staff is very courteous... Service is very fast... It's quite easy on the pocket...

Recently had sheek kabab with rice. For 38 aed kabab is of less quantity and rice was looking like it was fried with a lot of oil. Not so fresh rice. Kabab had good taste.

Shamiana is a well known name for indians,they are available in almost all leading malls in mumbai also. Few days back i was been there at this place...food quality is very good rates are little bit higher side and i think it's because it's located in food court of Dubai Mall.

Me and my friend tried Veg Combo and Chola battura in dubai mall the buttura never look the buttura it was puri which the called buttura other than that nothing so special it simple food which we tried in Lunch

After a heavy shopping at a DM, was craving for Indian food and ended up going here. Located at the food court. level 2. Ordered a non vegetarian combo. It had 1 portion of biriyani, mutton gravy, chicken gravy, chicken tikka and 1 naan slice along with raitha and pappad. Probably if you want an upgrade of a dish you will have to pay Dhs 4. The quantity was huge. More than enough for 2 people. Service was pretty fast and good food. You can't expect a good ambience as it is in a food court.
