Close to the Deira Creek and Baniyas Square, Its always been my fav place to go and eat some fresh Kebabs.
Their most famous are their special Shawarma. Priced at AED 7.
This place is always crowded to have their Shawarma.
They have indoor seating for families. Upstairs area should be your go to place. You have wide options of salad, fruits to have along with soup and fresh breads. Priced for AED 10(This itself will make you full).
Do try their Grill Fish Hamoor, Chicken Tikka with Youghrt and finish with their fresh Iranian Tea.
This place is not fancy. Very simple. Their food is what speaks for them.

An old famous and popular restaurant. Iranian cuisine. One night in september we ventured in.
All customers were from local hearabouts, all seemed familiar with the place and seemed to be of various nationalities. Which proves their worth.
Large seating area. Low ceiling. Traditional ambience and interiors. A bit canteen type. They have a large salad bar.
We had kababs , shawarma plate and a shawarma roll.
The plate was large in quantity. Kababs were good in taste but I felt the cost was a bit high. The shawarma roll was very authentic. They also served simple lentil soup, vegetables, salads, chips. Service is ordinary. Took quite a bit of time.
All in all, good food. No pretentions. Recommended for people who enjoy less spicy meat based food.

This place is best known for their Shawarma's and it is always very crowded during the weekends. Even if you are taking away the food, there is a long queue for the same. This can mean only one thing, that their food is exceptionally good and delicious. They also have a line dedicated for the females as well. The quantity given for the price is also great. They serve authentic Shawarma which is made with love (which you can understand from the amount of garlic paste they put in it). A must try if you are visiting Deira.

I have tried their shawarma here and it is different compared to all other places. The shawarma is rolled in a roti which is so well cooked. The garlic sauce in the shawarma makes it more tasty. The shawarma also has fries and pickle stuffed and its big and spicy also. One can fill your stomach.

has the best shawarma is the town still sold for pocket friendly price. people make lines to get shawarma better to get there early. i have also tried their salad and soup. you can chose salad from salad bar and get wan soup. the soup is delicious

One of the best (chicken) shawarma in Dubai. Been buying since 1998. There is usually a queue while you watch it prepared and that's a good thing because it's fresh since they sell a lot.
Food quality is good and the portions are large. It serves authentic Arabian cuisine. The restaurant is located in a crowded locality and hence bit crowded. You may have to wait even for getting the food parceled. With respect to ambiance, the ambiance is like any other restaurants.

I have been coming to Hatam Al Ta'ai, since I was a kid and hence this is my favourite restaurant to come to when I'm craving for some good Iranian kebabs and hummus.
Their Chicken mince kebab is my absolute favourite which comes with a side of fries. The hummus is served fresh with hot tandoori roti. Each person even gets a complimentary soup and one salad plate for a family which you can fill up on your own.
The service is spot on and highly recommended that you try out this place, it's too good!
A truely hidden gem in baniyas. They have amazing shawarma. We ordered miz grill too. Their bread is so soft and the chicken grill is perfect.
I can never forget this place. My dinner used to be two shawarmas from this place. This was my routine for about a month. The shawarma line is so long that it can take up to 30 minutes to get a shawarma sometimes. A different tasting shawarma, worth the experience. Excellent for people who have a limited budget.
Hatam is the best resturant for iranian and arabic food.
We tasted almost all its dishes. They served all dishes with arabic salad's and soup.

Used to visit this place with family when I was a kid and was one of the best places in Baniyas for a decent mixed grill and shawarma... As time has passed, the decor and service is just like how it was years back and is more dated. The food here is worth the price, but the taste has turned average compared to the competitor next door.
They serve some real Lebanese/Mediterranean food that is so good. Their Lentil soup with lemon drops on top as a complimentary is a total heart win. Their shawarma plate is delicious with those tender spicy chicken pieces and smoked onions and tomatoesalong with fries on side.
Black marks just for the recent increase in price that I think is now a little pricey

Had been to Hatam Al Ta'ai years back. My friend Aziz was a regular here and had been asking me to try this place out with him. The non-vegetarian fare and especially the kebabs were off-the-hook. Must try them out again!!

Nice persian food. Very famous for the mouth watering shawermas. Always theres a long queue of people waiting for take away orders of shawerma. The food is nice. Been there many times since last ten years. Still the same delicious food. Staff is friendly. Kubideh mahi i.e. Fish kebab is must to try for fish lovers. Everything is delicious on the menu.
A n old restaurant hidden in deira, there is absolute no parking, so we ordered a spicy chicken shawerma for take away.
Nice toasty shawerma, bit small, can easily eat 2 to fill up your tummy.
Their shawarma is quite big compare to normal shawarma in dubai. I love how crispy it is, but if they add a bit garlic flavor, it'll be the best.

Whenever in Deira this is our choice of food. A meal gets you soup a platter of choice and a salad bar to choose from.
Through out the day you have a huge shawarma que. if in the area try the shawarma for a snack or dine in.
The shawarma is excellent. One of the best in Dubai.
Trying to get one is easier said than done. If you're lucky enough to find parking, its only the queue you have to worry about. But once again, finding parking is easier said that done. You're better off being dropped off and picked up or parking much further away by the Abra Stations and walking down.
Its worth the hassle though. They're cheap, delicious and very filling.

This place is almost a hidden treasure for foodies. I have been visiting this restaurant since I was a child and never have I seen it empty. It's pretty popular in the area especially for its take-away shawarmas. For dine-in, I recommend their Royal Kebab Platter with chicken and mutton varieties. The Lamb Chops are also a delicacy. With each platter comes a free plate of fresh, Arabic style salad. The place is not very posh, but the service is pretty fine and the rates are extremely reasonable.

Nestled in the depths of the winding alleys of Baniyas Square, Hatam Al Ta'ai is the only place I know of that starts serving sharwamas from 7am. I have, on more than one occasion, had a shawarma as a second breakfast there when I've been in the neighbourhood. There's always a serpentine queue waiting for shawarma outside where you can simply order and take away quickly. The shawarma is one of the best in the city as they use a thicker khubs and then heat it again on a metal surface, thus making it crisp and hot on the outside as well as juicy and incredible on the inside.
After years of only having the shawarma during quick visits to deira, I decided to try some of the grills inside and boy, they did not disappoint.
I ordered a mix grill, a yogurt chicken grill and barberry rice. We got complimentary soup, hummus and salad with the meal as starters.
The soup and salad, which are self serve, are alright. The soup was an amalgamation of lentils, potatoes, tomatoes and I can't fathom what else. It kind of felt like they had concocted it with basically every vegetable and lentil they had. It was very thick and warm. I personally prefer clear soups so this was a bit strange to me. Having it all be complimentary though was a great touch of hospitality.
The grills arrived piping hot and were grilled to perfection. They were well done and juicy and with fries and hummus, the meal was quite filling. The rice with butter and barberries was perfect. I took home quite a bit of the grill leftovers and was surprised that they retained their texture and taste the next day when I reheated them. Kudos to the chef for the expert grilling.
And ofc, no Persian meal is complete without a cup of mint tea. A lovely helping of mint leaves and sugar cubes made the chai really hit the spot.
Absolute place for grilled food lovers.... Very good food and service. Its been 5 years in dubai and I don't miss a single chance to visit this place.
Nice place to have iranian kababs without all the glamour of fancy restaurants. Surprised to see tablets carried by staff around though. Parking is not easy but can be found in the multi storey RTA parking 100m away. Theres unlimited salad and soup and a little dessert selection for free as soon as you place your order. We ordered a kabab which was half chicken half meat and berry rice with it which was very tasty. Prices are same like almost all Iranian restaurants. Note that theres a long queue for their shawarma which can only tell you how good their food is
I've Been going to Hatam for 17 years now and I can't stress on the fact that there are no restaurants in the whole UAE that represent Iranian cuisine like this one. I love the place and everyone that work in it. #TahdigForLife
The restaurant has charged more than the price shown on the menu on Zomato. As a benefactor of the service, the restaurant should have updated its price list on the net. Further, their menu included a choice of soup of the day and salad for both dine in and take away. I had experienced this both for the several times I have patronized this restaurant with my family. It was disappointing to note that they no longer provide this inspite of the increased rates. The serving staff are always very polite and very eager to serve. I still love this restaurant but wish they could be more professional and update their menu on Zomato's web site.

One of Dubai's Oldest Sharwama places tht serve a mean juicy and very filling spicy sharwama. Since the time I started driving I've always tried to make it a point to visit this legendary place whenever I'm on this side of Dubai. Only drawback is finding a parking spot and battling the heat in a lonnng que just to get your hands on one of these amazing sharwamas.... Must have the the spicy Mexican Sharwama! !!
Great place to eat Kebabs. Great timely service. Food very much to the mark. Worth the penny. Tried the royal kebab and must say it clinks your tastebuds. Must visit if around this area.

To simply define this place, you’d have to visit them ANY day of the year at ANY point in the evening, and you’d see what a little gem this restaurant is to all the residents and workers of this area. A 20 Minute waiting queue for a single Shawarma or Falefal, you’d expect it to better be dripping with gold and precious stones. It is known for the flavor of this place which drags you back here for a quick bite, even if it is never really quick. Sure it is hyped up, but its simplicity in its delectability for a mere AED5, this is the best investment you can do. Apart from the outside queue, the restaurant too has much to offer. A massive ambiguous seating area inside, despite being full they always have space for you. The décor is too bland, very simple, nothing soothing at all. All the staff is usually very busy, running around with orders, but they still treat you with great generosity. You feel that this is one of the places that count its earnings by the number of people they satisfy day in day out, not by the profits they make. They are so popular, that even the restaurant next door has a built up on a good base of their impatient customers. Overall an amazingly satisfying place, special recommendation is their spicy chicken shawarma and their Hummus, they will never be known for their hygiene, for the area they reside in, it will always be a challenge, as for their décor, their client base doesn’t really need a fancy restaurant, but something that is bound to annoy you off is parking.
I have been visiting this place as long as I can remember (at least 20 years) as I live really close by. I love the spicy chicken shawarma and the chelo kebab. Prices have increased over the years but the quantity and quality has remained consistent over the years. I know a lot of the staff and it's always a treat to visit.
Fantastic shawarmas here. The queue to get one can stretch over 50 meters. Great place for a quick snack. Parking here can be a pain, but a visit here is strongly recommended for shawarma lovers.

1 medium sized Silver Pomfret, one plate Grilled Hamour(Grouper) kebabs, Hummus, salad bar and soup, fresh bread, beans and rice, and sulaimani tea to end it... All tasted great and all for AED 80 bucks... No where else in dubai. Great service great food, great feel of the Old Dubai. Went back after 12 years

About the ambience, they have a family section on the 1st floor which is wonderful setting for a lunch or dinner. With ur every order u get one complementary salad and soup which is serve ur self.
On the main course, I have tasted just the Shawrma and the mix Barbeque platter, which has a mix of chicken and mutton.
Also the Hummus , is also the best I have had in Dubai. Had some wonderful dinners here with family, always left the place with a smile and satisfied stomach!!

Hatam al tai's shawarmas are fresh, juicy and filling and prepared in front of you. In rush hours you will actually find a long queue to get one. Even in the hot sun.. U'll see people waiting for their turn..Ladies can skip the queue n get their order fast!
Parking is an issue here but its worth finding a space to get one of these shawarmas..you'll not regret.
There's a reason that let it be day or night the shawarma's line is always big. At times there are over 10-15 people in the line , theres just so much rush. This place without a doubt has one of the best shawarma in dubai. They've got spicy and normal chicken and meat shawarma. My personal favourite is spicy chicken
The shawarma is wrapped in iranian bread and is somewhat toasted. A great treat for shawarma lovers.
If you are an Irani Kebab fan then Hatam is the place. Here you'll get all kind of Irani Kebabs and some sort of Lebenese food. The food is accompanied with a one time buffet salad and soup. Recommended to have food atleast once here.

You know a good place when some of the staff stay for over 10 years! Hatam al Tai is among one of those restaurants in Dubai I haven't tired of even though I have been visiting them for a decade now. The food remains outstanding even though the decor is beginning to show its age. Everything on the menu has been tried and is always fantastic. First timers may want to try the chicken and mutton mince kebabs. The stews are also delicious. The free salad bar sets them apart - it is easy to fill up on the soup and wide variety of different salads and greens. But don't as the dishes that follow will be bigger stars. Hommos and freshly baked bread are also complimentary when you order dishes without rice. Limited options for vegetarians (apart from the salad bar) and perhaps desserts. I've also catered for guests at home with their takeaways which always impress. The bill won't break the bank - an antidote to boring staple spreads at 5-star extravaganzas and overpriced mall food courts in Dubai.
