So clearly someone forgot or didn't place our order....worst part is the waiter never admitted that he forgot. A simple "SORRY" will do.

If you like spaghetti with vegetables and ketchup, then order the Yakisoba noodles. Absolutely flavorless and with a hefty price on the shrimp option, it's an absolute robbery. The shrimps are microwaved and added, ketchup like sauce is used to garnish. Zero flavor at all, worst experience ever. Ice tea was way way too sugary and the strawberry milkshake was average. Avoid.

The service was very poor. The waiter didn’t want to wait till we finalize and confirm our order and just punched something we didn’t really want. Then he said it wasn’t possible to cancel the order and we have to take it anyway. The food is average. Coffee could be better as well. We were not welcomed in the cafe, and the staff was discussing their internal things right in front of us. Will not recommend this place to anyone, however, the location is good if you have some business in DWTC.

The staff there are very warm, helpful and friendly. But the food was far from impressive. Even with fact that this outlet was located next to DWTC, it's interiors looks dull and the airconditioner was dripping. I had carbonara pasta. The pasta was over cooked. I could see my friend having Salmon and that too was over cooked.

CULINARY LEGEND

Visited during Cityscape exhibition, the place was busy and the staff we’re struggling to serve. We ordered Japengo spl maki, Nasi Goreng, Mini burgers, chicken dumplings and grilled salmon. The maki was ok, the burgers were more bread and less meat( pic attached) the fries were raw and had to be sent for frying again, Nasi Goreng and chicken dumplings were average and not worth the price. The salmon was cooked to perfection but the mash and boiled vegetables were a let down. Really wished for a better experience like it was in the hay days. All the best.

I have read a lot of bad reviews about Japengo recently however I must say when I dined in this with my colleagues during the Paperworld event we found the food to be quite good. The serving was big and the food tasted good. The kabayan's who served us was also quite courteous. The place is a tad pricey though but it is located in World Trade Center after all so what would one expect. I do like this place honestly. Disclaimer: I'm basing my review when I visited this place in 2016 haven't visited them recently

I’d decided to come here during my break from the trade show that I was working for. I had just an hour for lunch, we ordered our food and it came 40 minutes later. We ordered the chicken dumplings, chicken and mushroom soup, Alfredo and the spicy chicken curry which came with rice. The dumplings were not as we expected. The soup was average. The Alfredo and the Chicken curry were pretty alright. The food was very average for the price we paid. Along with the delay in serving us the food and the price range, I would not come back.

Verdict - Absolutely average! Poor ambience and service. Bad hygiene too. Ordered a vegetarian pizza. Firstly it took 20 minutes for the order to arrive. The pizza was average. Thin crust, non oily and lots of veggies as toppings. They however didn't have any oregano when asked. I also observed a waitress sweep the floor and without washing the hands, serving food. Pathetic!

An old time favorite that serves a variety of dishes from different cuisines! My favorite is the Nasi Goreng as I like their fried rice and the chicken is usually well marinated and tender! The egg makes an excellent addition specially when its runny! The tempura was a little oily and I didn't like the batter as much as other restaurants ok Dubai. Overall, good food but slightly over priced because the quality has dropped over the past few years.

Been one of my favorite restaurants to dine in! I like the combination where i can get Arabic, Italian and Asian food all under one roof! Staff was very friendly! With regard to the food we ordered the Nasi Goreng Wok Fry Pad Thai Noodles Raspberry Chocolate Fondant I loved the Nasi Goreng it had marinated chicken, chicken sate, shrimp and was finally topped with an egg. It was perfect with regard to taste and quantity. The Wok Pad Thai Noodles was great as well! but i would strongly recommend you to share this dish! The chocolate fondant was amazing! Thankfully it was not you're average Betty Crocker batter but freshly made straight out of the oven with their own chocolate! Overall i would recommend you to visit! After a hectic day at the exhibition, me and a friend decided to takeway from Japengo. We ordered Yaki Soba with chicken and Alfredo Pasta. Yaki Soba is basically noodles with chicken and decent flavors and my friend quite enjoyed her meal. It was light and had a large portion size. The Alfredo pasta tastes better with oregano and chilli flakes as its quite bland. Its given piping hot so you don't miss out on the creamy cheese sauce. Great food, great service, has large portions and is slightly high priced, but worth the money. Highly recommend yaki soba and alfredo pasta.

Horrible! After attending Gulf Food, my colleagues and I were searching for a place to eat in the surprising heavy rain. We decided to go to japengo since we didn't have much options. That was a huge mistake. The waiters were so lost and inattentive. I literally had to grab their attention the WHOLE time and even when they were taking our order I had to say 'excuse me' like 5 times. The food finally came and it honestly tasted like hospital food, bland, tasteless mush that has been reheated. We even had to send back a dish because the chicken tasted like chewy rubbery gum! So disappointing. We ordered two noodles dishes and a "seafood" stir fry. Worse food I've had in a while and the prices don't justify the food you're being served. Overpriced slop. 👎🏻👎🏻

Went with the intention of a quick meal considering it was called a Cafe, But it was more of a Dine-In! Just tried the Shish Taouk, Olive Oil with the Hummus was like a well. They should consider reducing it as your plate can become a mess. Priced at AED 50/- it was manageable meal.

This place has a serious identity crisis and has 5 different cuisine on the menu! You can get anything from pastas, burgers, sushis, Thai curries, steaks to nasi goreng! Sadly they are jack of all trades but master of none. The prices were also higher than average!

After running an errand in the area, I decided to go to Japengo for supper since I was craving for some maki. I know this is not the best place for that but it happened to be the closest. I was the first customer for the night; the place was empty when I walked in. I was immediately given the menu. I ordered salmon sashimi, unagi (bbq eel) maki, shake (salmon) maki and strawberry juice. The sashimi was ok. It wasn't the freshest I had but those are difficult to come by in Dubai. The makis were basic. The salmon maki was unimpressive. The salmon pieces were tiny. The salmon's taste just did not come out strong from the dish. The unagi maki was equally uninspiring. I barely tasted the unagi flavour. Perhaps because the unagi pieces were very small. They could have added more bbq sauce so at least that taste will come out dominant. I did not really satisfy my maki cravings from eating here. The only consolation is that the juice was good. It was fresh and quite tasty. Japengo offers various cuisines. I hope the other dishes fare much better.

Was in trade centre for an exhibition, entered alone, the person at the door asked table for one, and made me sit on one of the closest table to door. When you ask someone and make them sit at least ensure to offer a menu. The wait was 5 minutes to ask for a menu and then i decided to explore the menu on Zomato and placed my order. Alfredo and chocolate milk shake. Alfredo was awesome may be we can say i love white sauce pasta anyways 😊. Chocolate milk shake was average, when you order something like that you expect it to be thick which was not exactly the case. In last few sips it was just liquid and icy. Note: not criticizing just sharing my experience, of course in a business like restaurants you cannot be perfect all the time. May be there is something you should look into may be not.

It's been a long time since I came back to eat at Japengo. I remember that before I used to dine at this place at least thrice a month. I kept coming back for one dish... Nasi Goreng! So it's no surprise that at my comeback, just before we sat down and got the menu, I am already decided on what to get. The selection has not changed much, or I just did not notice if there were any 😂 It's my wife's first time here and she was satisfied with what she ordered and overall dining experience. Ups: Nasi Goreng is a must. The Tempura has got some good sized shrimps in it. Downs: This cafe boasts of Asian Fusion. Recommend to add more selections. My rating: 4.2 / 5 Wife's rating: 3.7 / 5

It was crazy busy outside and most next door restaurants had no seating available. We headed off to Japengo and were promptly seated inside. The decor is a no-fuss with minimalist touch of a kitchen given. Waiting staff passed us the menu and was quick to take down our order. I was in the mood for something healthy (for a change!) and ordered the Avocado & Shrimp salad. We were served in under 8 mins (which was quick given that the place was busy) and the salad was nice. It was cut out nice and liked the seasoning topping, which added flavor to what would have been otherwise a no-taste eat-your-greens meal. What was also different from the other restaurant in the exhibition area was that they did not over crowded the place and cramp in as many seats as possible. It made it possible to have a conversation which is not possible at other restaurants next door where it is just too noisy.

The place is fine. The ambience is good and the food is okay. But the waiters are just buzzing around and you have to wait a lot to get them to take your order. Secondly while we eat they came with the bill before we even finished and asked us to pay the bill. It was like they were afraid if we'd run away without paying. I had the worst and most overpriced meal lately. 4 of us had lunch here with starters and it cost 612 dhs. And this is not even fine dining. We ordered sushi platter for starters which didn't seem the fresh but that wasn't the worst - I ordered the thai shrimp curry which I ended up sending back because the shrimp was hard and not fresh. I should have guessed cuz at lunch time it was just us and one more other table. That's the last time I go to this place.

Headed over to Japengo to have something different cuisine from my preferred Indian, Chinese and Lebanese stuff. My friend ordered the shrimp Nasi Goreng and I ordered the Greek Salad. The Greek salad was brilliant. Had all sorts of different flavours to it with they veggies. Olives, tomatoes, feta cheese, lettuce, spring onions, onions with the lemon dressing. These being the main ingredients of the dish. 1 Greek salad is enough to keep a single person's hunger woes to a bare minimum. The Goreng apparently could've been more juicy and a little less spicy. Found a little bit of blandness in the dish. Pricing of the dishes wouldn't burn your pocket holes but if you're a vegetarian then I guess you have better options around in the form of Circle Cafe. Nothing much in it for vegetarians. The ambience of the place is quite pleasing to the eye. No fuss with the decorations of designing of the entire place! Appreciate the effort of the staff members to accommodate us and keep us satisfied with our requests. #ZomatoSummer

It was passed 12 and I was craving to have some California Maki. A friend suggested Japengo. We ordered Nasi Goreng, CHicken Katsudon and Crispy California Maki. The Nasi Goreng was average, not close to an authentic one. The rice was very greasy and the beef skewer was too sweet, but the soy sauce was ok. The Chicken Katsudon wasn't that good either. The flavored breading did not satisfy me. And I'm used to pork Katsudon, so it just tasted like a an ordinary chicken strips. The Katsudon sauce was not in a perfect blend. It was too sweet, and salty. There was nothing special with the Crispy California maki. It's not what I'm looking for in a maki. The mayo dip made it a little bit tasty but nonetheless it was just average. The serving portions though are enough to make you feel full. I couldn't find any DUbai mall branch in Zomato, so I just clicked this location. Nonetheless, the one in Dubai has the nicest ambiance.

Some restaurants try to excel at everything and succeed. Japengo isn't one of those restaurants. They have too many different things in their menu and nothing that they specialize in. Unless they can revamp their menu, it's a pass.

Masarap Na Pagkain

This outlet is right in the middle of Trade centre and is usually crowded with queue waiting to be seated. We were lucky to get the seats right next to the glass door and can see the exhibitors walking across. staff is friendly and the best part was that on our three day visit the food and the service was consistent. Great place to visit if you are exhibiting, doesn't has much time and do not want to explore much because the menu offers almost everything...

Had lunch at Japengo Café today and all I can say is it was a criminal waste of money as the food was tasteless. The service was flawless and fast but the main thing that attracts you a restaurant or a café is the food taste where Japengo miserably failed to impress had arrabbiata pasta in pink sauce and berry affair both were below average. I reckon there are many options next door with similar pricing so best is avoid this place if you fancy tasty pasta. Btw the generous two marks are for the service.

i went there today for the first time and was pretty happy with my experience , although it was a very busy day due to Adeec dental conference going on in trade center, but service was fast and satisfying. i ordered japengo's special maki roll, and crispy california roll that liked them both, and their mozzarella cheese and tomato salad which was divine, beacuse of the pesto sauce over it i was in love with the salad, and it was very appealing to eyes. for sure will go back soon to try more stuff from the menu

It's not for everyone. I mean, if you're the kind of person that enjoys throwing stones at small animals, then you probably will be quite comfortable at the Japengo Cafe. If you're literally anyone else, and enjoy smiling, kindness, being treated like a human being etc. ...best to stay away from the Japengo Cafe. I prefer to take my meals without being verbally harassed by a manager who's okay with shouting at customers in the middle of a crowded restaurant. I couldn't possibly recommend anywhere in Dubai less.

Refined Taste

This particular ‘Japengo’ predominantly caters to people working and visiting the WTC. On several occasions I found this restaurant packed, although I cannot see why. First, I’m sure that people who have visited the WTC know that it's like you've visited the North Pole; it’s just that cold. This restaurant was no different. The waiters were obviously not acclimatized to this as they were coughing and sneezing all over the place, including the food, which we then had to return. When our germ-free food finally arrived, we almost wished that it hadn’t. They claim that an order of Fish and Chips is made with Hammour? I highly doubt it. The fish looked awful and tasted even worse. It was bland and had a distinct dark grey colouring that gave it an awful flavor. Ordered a fresh fruit salad without cream for dessert and lo and behold, it arrived WITH cream. This restaurant was not busy when we visited; just two other couples in fact. There was no reason at all for their many blunders. Will definitely not be returning as this restaurant left a horrible taste in our mouths.
