You must visit here if you want to be spoilt for choice especially for their High Tea and the different variety of Tea Flavours they offer.

Had a wonderful 😃time tasting some delicious new flavours of tea. @newbyteas launches twenty-five varieties of tea each inspired from a different detail taken from the private collection of vintage Indian pashminas 🌸 owned by the late Chitra Sethia, wife of Newby’s founder.

My weekend ended up well here. Visited here on a saturday evening to meet up with a friend .  A cozy nice lounge , perfect for a catch up with a sizzling hot tea or chilled beers.  Yeah but we opted for chilled beers. Staff are pretty nice and since we didnt order any food it was just few drinks and we were let at our pace to be on our own . we spent an hour plus and our experience has been good. Going to get back sometime soon again as i kind of loved the ambience and the feel of this place.

Very nice place to have your business meetings and it offers a great view too ! Well connected to bay avenue, executive towers and close to metro station as well !! Being ex Taj i love this place but feel service can be made better as its slow else all is good including the F & B options !!!

Nice place for a client meeting... good choice of tea and coffee... ask for the avocado sandwich .... it’s lovely.... spent abt an hr there and the music was nice too.... live piano... very pleasant

Byzantium Lounge - Taj Dubai Business Bay smart, spacious and cozy cafe in Taj Dubai Business Bay with very welcoming and attentive staff providing great service that makes our visit more enjoyable. They have a wide variety of coffee in their menu, from their specialties hot drinks, ice blended and milk based. They also offer tea, desserts, and other refreshers. Great place to meet clients for a business meeting with some superb afternoon tea menus.

Beautiful location, great ambience, good food, excellent service but definitely disappointing desserts!
Things we ordered:
Bombay Toastie : 8/10. They had masala aloo, which is actually the aloo that's put in Dosas. It was honestly brilliant and so tasty.
Samosas : 6/10. Good but not great, like every other Samosa I've had.
Tandoori chaat : 8/10. Brilliant, topped with juicy pomegranate, just excellent.
Coffee milkshake w icecream ; 7/10. Just the perfect blend of icecream and coffee. With a strong coffee taste.
Mini cupcakes : -5/10. Horrible just horrible, felt like it was kept for days, just disgusting.
However, the service was amazing. And when we just mentioned it to the waiter, he immediately got us A tiramisu dessert. And that was honestly a 7/10. Brilliant, creamy and just mouth-watering. It was more like Tiramusi soufflè.
Overall, really good- but be very careful with your choices I would say...

I am fascinated by how amazing hotel lounges have begun to look these days - fancy and exquisite.The lounge at the Taj is one of them and looks fairy tale like. I was here for high tea one afternoon. 

High teas are synonymous with the British and are a great getaway from the routine meals that help you unwind and relax. The Byzantium Lounge is a beautiful lounge and has some decent savouries for high tea. They have a pianist playing some amazing music.

We were served by Amar who was extremely kind and helpful. The service was as expected or even better. We started with the selection of teas - a Masala tea and an English breakfast tea. When the teas arrived we were informed that the savouries would take some time as most of them are made fresh especially the scones. The teas were good. If you look strong Indian masalas, then you would for sure love the Masala tea. The teas are free flowing. 

The savouries were then served. There was the smoked salmon blini, cucumber sandwich, roast beef, horseradish cream, cheddar and finally the Egg and Cress. The salty savouries were just ok however the Egg and Cress sandwich was really good that we called for another round of it.

In the sweet savouries there was the Pistachio macaroon, Valrhona chocolate cake, Citrus pate des fruits, Mini Red Velvet cupcakes and scones with clotted cream. We enjoyed the the Pistachio macaroons that were extremely fresh. The Red velvet cupcakes and the chocolate cake were tasty as well. The scones were not the best, infact there was something not right in them and the cream also was just average. 

This for sure is not the authentic British High tea however was not too bad an experience !

We were here at the Byzantium Lounge for their Afternoon Tea. Having heard so much about the hotel, The Taj, we were expecting nothing less but sheer grandeur with respect to almost everything, be it decor, furniture, lighting elements, food and service! While the lobby of the Taj Dubai is gorgeous in itself, the lobby lounge here, aka, Byzantium is equally beautiful with a relaxing ambiance and views of the Burj Khalifa. 

They have a gorgeous bar that's open from 5pm onwards. More on that in a bit, so let's get to the Afternoon Tea. When you're at the Taj, you have to choose to go for the Taj Afternoon Tea that's slightly different from the Tradition Afternoon Tea here, in the sense that, in addition to including all that's in the Traditional Afternoon Tea, you will find a some Indian savories and sweets in the Taj Afternoon Tea. And of course, there are only a very few restaurants here in Dubai serving an Indianized-version of an afternoon tea. 

The following are available in both, the Traditional and the Taj Afternoon Tea - the Smoked Salmon Blini, which is very popular and we don't see why not; Cucumber Sandwich, your simple 'wich but tasty nonetheless; the roast beef sandwich with horseradish cream and cheddar and an egg and cress inside a bun, which was my favourite! 

Of course, there were scones - plain and raisins, with clotted cream and preserves. We have a weakness for scones so you give them to us anytime of the day, and you'll become our best friend! Pistachio macaron, a valrhona chocolate cake, mini red velvet cupcakes, and the chewy French origin pate de fruits in citrus flavour.  We had absolutely no qualms about the food here - they're all freshly prepared once you place your order, and you'll notice this in the taste of each one. 

Oh the Indian delicacies accompanying our Taj Afternoon Tea that day were mini samosas, pari chaat and pea tikka - beautiful flavors and now I'm wishing I could have just another serving right here, right now! We aren't very fond of Indian sweets in general, but they had available here the kala jamun, saffron sandesh and the cardamom pound cake which was a delight in fact mainly because it wasn't as sweet as the former two. 

We were very happy to know that they served Karak and Zafran here - so loaded ourselves a lot with that! Coffee, of course too because why not? The Afternoon Tea comes with unlimited refills of any kind of tea or coffee of your liking and they have a pretty nice selection of tea here!

It's very easy to spend hours here in this lounge. We were here on a Friday afternoon and it was quiet, just the kind of ambiance we were looking for! However, we were told that their happy hours started from 5pm onwards until 8pm and this was everyday! They have their happy hours here EVERYDAY! And that means you can get your drinks for a 50% discount! So we kinda sorta stayed back and sipped some champagne before we finally headed back home, carrying our memorable experience here with us. 

Why the 4.0 then? The service here requires some speeding up definitely. Having to wait more than 20 minutes for a mocktail I don't think is very reasonable and we saw just one staff on duty that afternoon, creating drinks and rushing and catering to the all but few customers at the lounge.

A quiet hotel lounge located on the 1st floor in the Taj business bay hotel with surprisingly great selection of food and drinks. We ordered a variety of indian food and completely relished it. The goan prawn curry was my favourite.

It is an unlikely choice of restaurant amongst the other happening restaurants and bars in this hotel but perhaps good for meetings and quiet catch ups.

The service was a little disappointing as our breads and one of the starters were brought to the table almost when we were done with our dinner. However the server immediately cancelled the order when he realised the situation and apologised.
