I ordered a Sada dosa 5/5 , a medu vada 4/5 very nice and crispy ! , and an idly plate 4/5 , all the food was delivered very warm to my place and there were hygiene stickers put on each item , the sambhar was mind blowing and amazing coconut chutney was an icing on the cake !!
Visit this restaurant for an early breakfast for some authentic south Indian dishes.
Tried their Medu vada, it was served hot. Upama, masala dosa and Set Dosa. Finished the breakfast with hot filter coffee.
Very courteous staff and good service.
Ordered Misal pav , Wada pav and Paneer Biryani.
All the food items were very tasty and perfectly cooked.
Another southindian place near meena bazar.! So idly dosa and southindian food was really good.! It had options for chat North Indian and other snacks.! Pure vegetarian hotel with decent ambiance and food.! They even had thali options which would be enough for 2-3.!
Value for money-3/5
Food-3.5/5
Ambiance-3/5
Had been here thrice, it's near the Dolphin hotel, Meenakshi Bazar. The food is really awesome. It's pure vegetarian too, difficult to find in Dubai. Have tried several items such as in South Indian, North Indian, chaats as well as Chinese, loved all it's preparation and quantity as well as taste too. Service is also very fast.

Visited this place as I was craving for idily.. this place reminds of Bangalore as the taste remains same as what I used to have back in Bangalore .. idiy is soft and fluffy .. best of all it’s not heavy on your pocket
I've been visiting them since several years and have enjoyed their flavours. Have tried almost everything from South Indian to Chaat to North Indian. Food is good, Service is decent and Ambience are average. They have a dish caledd Rice of the Day - which I must say is excellent whenever tried.
Great place... Great yummy food... The best restaurant.... Every Indian visiting Dubai must visit this restaurant.. Value for money... The food is tasty and staff is cooperative...
we visited here last week. they save Karnataka style food. i had neer dosa. Chutney was good but not of not my usual south Indian preference. sambar was also good. We also had chapati and curry (chapati and chana masala). This was also good. Normal dosa with Vada. That was also good. i can see some comments, that they had not given extra plate, lemon or onion and slow serving etc. Well, we DIDNT have any such negative experience.
Had tried this restaurant after a very long gap...Had ordered the traditional idli sambar for breakfast and veg thali for lunch..the place is good, the quality of the food was also good, the service was good but bit slow as the waiting time was longer..the place was neat n clean..
Awesome homestyle food. We had a North Indian Thali, Chana Bhatura and Rawa Masala. It's been a long time since I enjoyed such a delicious Indian meal. Non spicy, non oily delicious food. I wish they had more branches. Definitely will be visiting soon.
The great thing about this restaurant is that all the dishes taste different and each tastes very good. This sets it apart from other Indian restaurants in Dubai that use the same masala for almost every dish. The ingredients are also fresh and the food is value for money. We always stop by for snacks or a quick meal when we visit Bur Dubai and you should too.. the south indian is pure karnataka taste and the north indian dishes are very good. Highly recommended for a tasty bite when in Bur Dubai.
Had excellent coffee and rasam vada, masala dosa, rava dosa.
There is good parking next to the resturant and very close to metro station.
There are typical dakshina Kannada dishes also here.
Location: 4/5. Located close to Meena Bazar in Bur Dubai and close by to Al Fahedi Metro station
ambiance: 3.5/5. The ground floor is small and just about Ok, but the first floor dining is good.
Taste: 4.5/5. We were missing home made food after 4 days in Dubai. We ordered Lemon rice, curd rice, dal with plain rice. Food was very good.
Its a must visit restaurant if you want to taste Karnataka style (Darshini) food.

We ordered punjabi food..It was delicious..We enjoyed our dinner.. Will recommend for Mushroom Tikka Masala specially.Have almost full menu with punjabi options which I like most..,.....
Checking all the Karnataka breakfast boxes perfectly!
We had the softest idlies coupled with a hot crisp vada.
The upma was par excellence just right soft flavor of ghee, light fluffy. Most if not all the others seem to think that dripping in fat is the way to go, not so here.
The ghee roast hit the spot as did the vat of filter coffee
One of the best place is burdubai to have dosas. It's located in the busy streets of burdubai and they serve variety of dosas. Haven't tried other items.
I had one plate idly it was nice but the chutney was a bit different from other restaurants I didn't eat any other items so I could not rate it more for a plate of idly chutney sambar I can rate it 3.5 hoping to go another time to try something from their menu which makes me interesting to rate them more
Serendipity in short. We happened to b here for breakfast and ordered for Misal pav. It was sumptuous tasty n very filling. It was mouth watering and xcellent service. This is a small place with a simple ambience with pleasent music playing on the background. Would definitely recommend this place for a veggie to try.
This is the real Kamat, not its namesake and the fancy one on Mankhool, make no mistake. These guys have come up from humble roots, from the joy of feeding thousands not a few connoisseurs to make their name. Ask for idly and get served on banana leaf, neat eh? So is their filter coffee and dosas. I would be tempted to patronise BK every time I walk past - well done guys, keep it going and please support the waiters more, they are doing a good job.

Went around 3.30 at kamat's they were serving only snacks as lunch time had passed.
Very casual ambience. 2 level, on d main road.Family ambience.
We ordered idli which was really soft served with coconut chutney, sambhar & garlic chutney
Frankly Didn't expect such a good idli in Dubai.
Onion uttapam was good.
Usal pav was tasty.
Pav Bhaji , pav was big n Bhaji was ok.
Filter coffee was decent served in traditional style. Coke was chilled.
Quantity are good.
People looking for pure veg in Dubai must opt for it.
If you are searching for a place that has really good North/South Indian breakfast which would be light on your pocket, this is your place to go. Located quite close to the metro, this little restaurant serves some really good veg grilled sandwiches, medu vadas and onion uttapam. The service is also plays a positive factor to go to this restaurant. I'd recommend it to all vegetarians who are craving for some good Indian breakfast or a quick snack. Still need to try out their lunch options!
Great place for Indian food. Been a regular customer for the past few years. I love their breakfast. They have some mouth watering dosas and their Idlis are the best in town. Also would strongly recommend their Dal Khichdi and south Indian Thali. Their spice levels are perfect, which makes me feel I am eating in one of the outlets in India.
I went here with a friend. We are both fond of great food , The food was amazing and the service impeccable. It is a lunch I won't forget. staffs are also good,
Very good south indian food served with nice quality.. Thali served is nice to eat and even its good for vegetarian people arriving in dubai . And very budget friendly...
There is a malayalam movie called Kamat & Kamat. its a story of two brothers who rans a veg restaurant. From that time i am familiar with this name Kamat. i have planned to go kamat restaurant of gazebo group.
Yesterday we were in aster clinic, and when we came out first i saw this restaurant.i thought its a small restaurant when i see the small dining area down, but when i visited their family room upstairs there was a large area. Their menu was full of various delicious items which tempted me to order. But we were in hurry, so we ordered two masala dosa only. 😊
the dosa was good. along with the sambar and chutny. i completed it within two three minutes. hope to go there again.😃
Bengre kamat is a known restaurant for vegetarians. Upstairs they have a hall with a couple of dinning tables. The food was tasty and deserts were brilliant but order took time for about 30 minutes.
Hmmmm.... Bengre Kamat its like second home for me... Whenever I visit Karama or al fahidi this is the place I prefer more. Coz the taste aroma and it'll be like home food for me... Specially dosa's and idlis along with sambar its like heaven for us.. I am suggesting this place not because of ambience coz you guys will get real taste of sambar and chatni ill visit this place many more time to taste only these things.. Hope you guys liked my review for this hotel...
Pocket friendly..good south indian food. I like all their dosas but im a big time fan of mysore sada n kamat meets my expectations. Sambhar is also good but sometimes i have found the coconut chutney to be too watery.
a very nice place with good service to customers, really delicious taste and very cozy environment to have food.
Lovely masala dosa made crispy to my liking and good old filter kaapi, the snacks make me happy any time of the day when I crave some homestyle southie food. Thumbs up! Ekdum borem!
This is my favoirite south indian food joint. The taste of the sambar they make is awesome....not available in any of the othe south indian restaurants in Dubai.
Being a Kamath, getting homestyle food and Konkani speaking staff gives me a taste of family and home. Lovely masala dosa made crispy to my liking and good old filter kaapi, the snacks make me happy any time of the day when I crave some homestyle southie food. Thumbs up! Ekdum borem!

I am a lady who gets happy when she gets chicken even in breakfast! So when one of my vegetarian friends forced me to join him for lunch at Bengre Kamat's I was reluctant. I do love vegetarian food too..but some days I just feel like sticking to the good old chicken!
So here I was hunting for this restaurant (which was right in front of me actually). Finally found it but parking was a big issue..Since its located right in the center of the bazaar its very difficult to find parking anywhere near. Its best to catch a metro to fahidi station and walk for five minutes. Anyways as I reached there..the restaurant was smaller then I thought but tidy enough. We started with Paneer pakodas served with ketchup and they were very average. I wasnt wishing it to be a miracle but atleast a bit tastier in any way. However we moved on from the very passable paneer pakodas to the main courses. I insisted on ordering south indian delicacies but my friend suggested that their north Indian food was much better. So we ended up ordering Paneer Bhurji, Palak paneer and vegetable khadai along with some garlic naans. There was nothing special in the naans for which they are charging 7aed per piece, however the dishes were fantastic! The paneer bhurji was spicier and tangy, palak paneer was alright but beautiful green in color and vegetable khadai had a bit of sweetness in the end which I liked. I ended up having more of the subzis then the naan. I have noticed many restaurants using the same gravy base and adding the final contents to it as per the order. Here the taste for all 3 dishes that I had were way different and luckily it wasn't the same gravy base.
We ended our meal by sharing rice payasam, something that I generally love having. It was pretty good too. Not to sweet, not to watery but the thickness was just right.
Overall, I enjoyed the meal and I gobbled up more then I expected to. Service is a bit slow but the quality food that I had was worth the wait.
Total bill: AED107 (inclusive of drinks)
a very nice place with good service to customers, really delicious taste and very cozy environment to have food.
