Price is reasonable and the server Shaikh was very patient considering the rush which was there on a weekend. The thali is a generous mix of typical South Indian fare consisting of rice/ rasam/vegetables/ papad/ sambar etc served with chapati and condiments. Spices are in the right amount and probably if you are not used to spice it will be better to request them. Overall a good experience.

The starters were missing in the thali, no spoons provided for the gravy, had to wait for another 15 minutes for 2 piece of chicken to arrive. When questioned about that the supervisor did not even apologize. The rest room is a mess,no tissues paper,no body to clean it. I would highly not recommend to go to the restaurant if it's busy.

(التعليق الأصلي) The worst restorent I've ever gone. We order two chicken biryani and asked the billing guy what the price was he didn't say anything and grab my card and bill it . He won't give the bill then he told us to wait . After 10 min he came with 2 chicken biryani and 1 gravy. Seriously?... And then he give us the bill .We were shocked it was 25 aed for a single chicken biryani. And it was the worst biriyani i ever had in my entire life. Even a 10 aed biriyani taste better than this . This was the worst experience i ever had in my life. I will never go to this place again .

Ok being a chennai girl...anjappar used to be favorite back home.. today it almost looked like a empty restaurant.. and the posters outside had some interesting combo with panniyaram.. so tempted we dodged in to know the menu here and what options are available around 9.45 pm but we have never been treated so badly.. our average spend on weekend one meal is 80-100 aed but this guy in the counter treated us like we dont have money... pathetic!! never ever visiting this place again

Did a mistake of ordering take away parcel from Anjappar. Over priced for this minimal quantity they serve. Chicken chukka in the smallest serving bowl not even filled to half. <br/><br/>When I called to complain I am told politely we just serve 120 gms. <br/><br/>It is high time this restaurant indulges a lil but in ethics and customer service. We had chosen to go Anjappar was a reason- Would like to taste the Chettinad dum briyani as well as some of the non-veg items. Being in Dubai can have a similar Chettinad experience in the restaurant, this is what they have promoted their restaurant and we believe. We as Dubai Residents especially North & South Indians would like to have a typical experience of Chettinad and would like to have authentic food from their genuine restaurant. Not only for Indians, also for Foreigners who would like to taste the south Indian food. Unfortunately, we lost our appetite, flavor, and quality of food were indeed not up to even 15% satisfaction. This will definitely make the restaurant name further down if they continue to provide this kind of service. We ordered mutton dum briyani, but we found the mutton inside the briyani were used for Mutton Khorma, not dum briyani mutton (attached picture will give you a clear view). They removed the chicken and added khorma mutton. Rather they should have told mutton briyani finished or they should have offered chicken briyani. Even we found chicken pieces inside the mutton briyani. What if the Guest requested for allergen or gluten-free food if they do this kind of service or practice, how we trust them? Cleaning & Sanitation must be improved, they were very far away, no one noticed when we go for- hand washing not done as clearance guy also serving food and wiping plates, plates deemed not dish-washed as it smells briyani even after cleaned plates placed on the table. The customer wouldn't know whether all contamination/microorganisms ingested through food and too many health issues related to this after this experience and we realized later when it diagnosed. The restroom was not cleaned, even no tissue papers, used tissue papers on the floor. Too crowd during the weekend and new year, too many customers, the restaurant was so busy, people were queuing to get a seat. Good business for them, but bad service, bad quality of food, no worth for money value. If they want to retain their reputation, business and customer, they have to improve a lot. Though Dubai Municipality is introducing a lot of food safety awareness programs to ensure the Dubai resident health & safety, but the restaurant seemed not taken any steps to improve. All the points have been discussed with their Cashier the lady and the waiters as well. This message is for them to improve to avoid disappointing the customers who trusted their product/service and quality. My family was disappointed, we would have cooked the food at home, I told them let's go out for lunch, after this experience may not push us to-go restaurant. I hope they will take very seriously to improve further.

It is a great place for South Indian food. I never had such a tasty dosa and Sambher. It is just like home made.

Tried their biryani & fish thali over the weekend. The quantity was really good, but the biryani in-itself was tasteless and just too dry. The fish thali had so much to offer and is probably a better dish on the menu to order.

I ordered Natu Kodi Biryani without seeing the menu as they told me this is today special. The Biryani is spicy and Natu Kodi is average. First time dining at Anjappar albeit mulitple recommendations to try their food. Ordered Chicken Lollipop, Sweet Corn Chicken soup, coin parotta, chicken curry and a schezwan chicken noodles. Food was average and at first the service was good. However I and family finished dinner, we ordered coffee and tea, which they accepted. However after 20 minutes of waiting, on asking the waiter, he kept saying that it would be given in a minute. We ended up walking out since it never came, and went downstairs and paid the restaurant. Why accept an order which you cannot fulfill even on a non busy day? Time wasted, and only average quality food. I will not recommend this place to anybody if they have other options.

Had ordered for meen mangai curry, nalli roast, chicken Lollipop and fish biryani. Food tasted good. Fish curry was bit spicy to my taste but others liked it. Nalli roast was surprisingly good, the pieces were very succulent and upto the mark. Food arrived hot before time with good packing.<br/>

I have first tasted the spicy flavors of chettinad at Anjappar back in Kormangla, Bangalore a few years ago. It was lip smackingly good. So with the same expectations here again in Dubai I go to to their restaurant . And, as expected they were perfectly as per my expectations. Extremely delicious to the core. We ordered the Nattu Kozhi Biryani, which had four generous pieces of Chicken mixed with extremely spicy authentic chettinad Masala. The biryani was spicy and delicious too. The Mutton biryani on the other hand contained, soft and succulent mutton pieces and an extremely good mix of rice. The chicken kuruma gravy was a special winner too. Everything was as par the mark. Anjappar karama we had mutton biriyani forget the name that was special dish on Friday that biriyani enough for two people and chicken naatukozhi fry and we hand or Sarnath biriyani is normal tamilnadu biriyani I don't feel any extra taste in that but price was too high 60 Aed per plate total our cost including ssrbath 105 Aed taste and quality and quantity was good but price was too hight not worth for price

A Chettinad special traditional culinary has brought the taste of south Indian to Dubai. Had a veg thali which was value for money, a good place to visit with family. Last but not the least, Soft spoken staff will be remembered until you visit next time.

This place is one of our frequent choice for their variety of South Indian spicy food. My hubby misses the authentic food from India and this is the closest we could find. Every dish is tasty! The price is reasonable and the staff are friendly!

I've ordered 4 chappathy and mutton thokku for lunch. Chappathy was good. Mutton thokku was not upto the mark. Quantity of mutton thokku was perfect for 4 chappathys but it is absolutely over priced. Both chappathy and curry are over priced. If the taste was great I wouldn't have said this, but overall I am not happy.

Such a bad experience with the service quality. Ordered a non veg thali and a mutton Biryani. Chapati refills for the thali took like forever and my Biryani came after my friend had finished her thali. There was more though, my biryani did not come with a boiled egg in it, while ordering I was assured that it included it. A seperate was given to us at the end of our meal. And to speak of Biryani itself, the quantity was very small with two very small pieces of meat. A huge let down on all fronts except for the taste of the biryani. Ordered a sweet and salty lemon soda, except that they forgot to add the salt! After such an ordeal, we decided not to tell them about it and just left the place. Oh yeah, more waiting was in store for the bill. Done with Anjappar forever!

Loved the kozhi masala dosai...was a bit disappointed on naatu kozhi roast as the quantity was far too less for the price paid and was not sure if it is organic chicken or not....naatu kozhi translates to organic chicken ✌🏻

The cheapest place for thali in Dubai. Yes! It is surprisingly cheap yet the taste wasn’t compromised at all. Everything’s just mouth watering. Good taste and service as well. My friends and I enjoyed it so much and made us all sleepy after coz they’re too generous in giving rice, papad, chapati, etc.

Good food and gives a taste of chettinad. One of the favorite cuisines, this restaurant churns out wonderful dishes which is enjoyable. As I am from Chennai, the tamil style biriyani is something I go for pretty much every time. Keep it up guys.

Good ambience and decor. Very polite and friendly staff. The a.c. wasn't working but the staff made sure we were seated comfortably. Would have preferred the filter coffee with a davara set though it was given in a cup and saucer. The food was well cooked and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Anjappar was a super awesome experience! The Mutton varuval curry with Madhurai perotta was super yummmy 😍. I loved idli and mutton curry as well. Mutton bone soup was the typical Tamil style spicy soup. Good ambience, economical and good service.

Nice restaurant with nice staff basically a South Indian restaurant famous for the spicy biryani, I liked the most is the side dish tari offered with the biryani which makes their biryani so special.....staff is polite and generous ambiance is normal as other restaurants

Hopefully the last time I've visited the place.<br/>The platter was in no way tasty. Half the things on there were probably deep fried and I really don't have any words for it.<br/>Although the staff were friendly, the service was...not one of the best<br/>Overall just genuinely dissatisfied :/

Good location, polite staff and unique items. But having visited Anjappar Tamilnadu earlier, I found the taste of this outlet's food to be far less compelling. We ordered chicken biriyani and chicken chettinad. Also the price for this quality seemed relatively high vs many nearby restaurants with better taste.

I had been to Anjappaar back in Coimbatore during my college days it served as a rain to my bland mess food.and thus it was nice to visit Anjappaar here. We had non veg (chk) thali and chicken biriyani. Both the items wer good but my pick wud b the thali. It was well worth the money paid

I was in a mood for South Indian food and my favourite place had run out of their Chettinad Biryani taking me to this place.<br/><br/>Well, the place is an average restaurant serving South Indian cuisine, I expected the taste of the food to be better as they have branches across the world. Service is decent.<br/><br/>We called for a Lime soda, a portion of Chicken 65, a Tawa fish fry and a Chettinad Biryani. <br/><br/>The lime soda was very average and more watery. The Chicken 65 was was the only saving grace of the meal with decent pieces of chicken with a good marination. The Tawa Fish fry was burnt and the fish wasn't fresh either. When we complained about it, the fish was replaced and the second one was equally burnt and stale. The fish fry felt like it was pre-fried and only heated when the order was placed.<br/><br/>The Chettinad Biryani was a decent portion however the taste was nowhere close to authentic Chettinad style biryani.

This was during the period I was trying to find the best Chettinad in town, driving past this restaurant, decided to get one packed for home.<br/><br/>😒The chicken was good, but not amongst the better ones I had eaten. <br/>A nice generous portion, disinterested staff that packed the chicken.<br/><br/>Plenty of eating options available in the row of restaurants. Paid parking is available.

One of the worst Chicken Briyani you will ever have in Dubai. Really Terrible. Small Chicken pieces No Eggs No Brinjal Curry. Masala was worst for a Chennai Style Briyani. Suggestion - pls Visit Chennai and Try Briyanis if you are calling it South Indian Briyani. Totally disappointed specially when you have such a big brand name.

Food was good and tasty too . but in delivery its not delivered as per the menu provided in the zomato . lollipop 2 pieces is in menu and not delivered.

used to get the food delivered till now.. and this was the 1st time visited the restaurant.. the food was awesome.. mutton sukka dry.. chicken lollypop.. virudhunagar poricha parotta were all awesome...only the chicken gravy was ordinary.

Not a great taste when I visited. I am one of the favorites of this restaurant in chennai so I visited here. Ordered paya, ittli, chicken tikka, paniram and porata & juices here . Only tikka, ittli and paniyaram is good taste and all others waste. Money waste for me.

One of the worst restaurant to order for delivery. Ordered food and had been requested to wait for 50 minutes for them to deliver. Atlast cancelled the order after 01hour 40 minutes since the delivery didn't happen. Also their customer support is worst. Their lines are not reachable. Would suggest not to go for delivery from their restaurant

Today i ordered mutton thoku. delivered on time but very little qty being delivered. Worth not to pay 30 dhrms and get small portion.very disappointed.

Had a good experience with the chettinad flavors , nattukozhi biriyani was awesome and tasted the famous jigarthanda drink , which was superb, this is a place for people who luv spicy food...

We ordered appam,chapathy,wheat porota,chicken lollipop,mutton chops,chicken pepper.. among these appam n chicken lolipop was exceptional and others was normal.. masala tea made our meal complete..

Went there recently for dinner. the place was way too crowded and we waited for like 15 mins and then got a table.<br/>The ambiance is not so lavish but neat.Started off with Mutton biriyani and chicken kothu parotta.I felt the kothu parotta was more flavourful than the other one.We ordered pepper mutton something(i couldn’t remember the name)it was so spicy,soft and perfectly cooked..I was so excited to try their ilaneer payasam..but to my bad luck that was not available at that time..so i went for gulab jamuns which were so soft and was a great wrap for the meal.<br/>The restaurant is bang opposite to the Karama park and was so perfect for a small walk after the dinner.Hope they bring ilaneer payasam back soon.
