Definitely one of the best south indian cuisine restaurants in Dubai. Their service is fast and efficient. Its packed on weekends. They have made sure to take all necessary precautions during this pandemic.
Ambience-3/5 an okay ambience. Ideal for a family dinner.
Food-5/5 i would highly recommend
-mysore sada dosa
-vada sambhar
-rava onion dosa
-filtered coffee
Not very crowded, following all protocols, good food , ambience, friendly staff....the one I loved most is the filter coffee and cutlets
Good South Indian delicacies. Uppma, dosa, ghee roast, poori etc are tasty. good variety of snacks. Recommended
You got to give a restaurant a perfect review when u have tasted almost everything on the menu and its PERFECT!!
What do I say, this place is like heaven in Dubai for South Indian foodies. It serves everything perfectly made and we love going here almost every weekend for our Friday big meal. It is packed with people and almost has a waiting but its totally worth it. I havent had more crisper rava dosa anywhere in Dubai. This place really beats everything :-)
This is my most favourite south indian joint in dubai. There can never be a more crispier rava onion masala dosa than what venus serves..!
We make sure to eat here if we are coming towards karama.
We had visited Venus for a quick lunch some days back. We ordered Medu Vada, Plain Rava Dosa and a Masala Dosa. Everything was upto the mark.
The restaurant is also neat and the staff are well-mannered.
A favourite amongst South Indians we go here often for morning breakfast & Lunch Thali. Authentic South Indian dishes makes you to select the right one very difficult as everything on the menu looks tempting. Always crowded place as it is very popular.
If it is difficult to choise then order the Mini Tiffin which contains a variety of items in smaller size. Portion is sometimes good for 2 persons. 3 Idlis, 1 Medu wada, Masala Dosa, upma & sheera with 2 types of chutney and sambhar or rasam. In the end filter coffee is also included in it.
Venus has been one of my goto places for rava masala dosa and mangalore bun place. I had been using delivery service for quite a long time now.
Visited today for a late brunch breakfast and as usual the staff were very welcoming.
Must try
Rava masala dosa
Tea
Mangalore buns
Also their other dishes are delicious too
Thumbs up 👍🏻
No joke, I have driven from Sharjah to Dubai just to have their Manglore buns and I have no regrets. I have taken my family here to try their buns and they are as close as it gets to the one you get in India. Good job team!
Did they adhere to social distancing? Yes
Where they quick in service? Definitely
Was the food freshly prepared? Most definitely and boy was it delicious!
Was the food portioning appropriate for 1 person? Yes
Value for money? Yes
Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who appreciates eating South Indian breakfast.
Venus is a very good joint for vegetarian food lovers.
Typical Mangalorian taste.
Good food, freshly made and hot
Must try dishes- Medu Vada and Mangalore Buns.
Try going in early in the morning before 8 am for fresh and hot vada's.
Also, its the only place which sells Magalore buns.
Though, the pricing is slightly on a higher end if you compare it with other options around Karama, but worth it.
Oldest restaurants in Dubai. Great variety of food. All vegetarian options only. Recommended dish would be the paneer biryani and masala dosa.
Dishes Ordered

Mini tiffin is worth ordering.
By far the best filter coffee I have had in karama. My personal favorite is the poori sheera. A must try.
i love their filter coffee and vada but they have to improve on mangalore bonda
Always relished the food from this restaurant.Ordered mini tiffin and Rava idly .Rava idly arguably one of the best in town
The best Rava idly I ever had, and their typical sambar, mouthwatering. Will pay a visit e every time I go to karama
After long we visited for breakfast on a weekend. The place was packed , after almost 20 minutes we managed to grab a table . We had mangalore bonda, set dosa, idli, vada and filter coffee . The service was quick and the staff are very friendly . Mangalore bonda was superb, everything else was very good too . The sambar here is so authentic mangalore style and I totally love it . That was definitely a amazing breakfast we had!
I always enjoy eating south Indian thali. It's worth and value for money. Don't forget to dink coffee after south Indian break fast. Ambiance is comfortable.
A Nice cozy restaurant in old school and nostalgic Karama Area , with ample parking near by . This place is a Vegetarian Mangalore style restaurant serving some amazing breakfast and North Indian veg dishes .
We always make it a point to visit on Friday mornings if we happen to go out early . Amazingly tasty food - where a mini set tiffin ( a selection of all sorts of South Indian dishes i.e idly , Dosa . Vada etc . ) is as low as 18-20 AED.
Staff is very friendly and attentive , we are always greeted with a smile . Pls note especially on Fridays after 10:00 am the place gets really crowded and waiting is common or table sharing if your alone / less people .
Would give them 4.5 /5.0 but since there is no option as such , I would not go back to 4.0 hence guess they deserve the full 5.0 rating as they have been consistently good during each visit .
Highly recommend for Veg food .
You have to have the veg manchurian here. Surprising that a south indian place has good manchurian.
They have good service when the crowds are less.
A nice joint for snacks they have nice masala Dosa options and many other South Indian snacks their chutneys are also very nice prices are very minimal loved it
A pure vegetarian Mangalore style hotel.
Whenever we visit this place, I feel I'm back in my hometown. All the staff speak kannada which is very delightful to hear. I usually order dosas here and my husband always goes with the unlimited meal. For just 22 dhs, it's quite a steal. I love the dosas. And one Dosa is definitely filling for me. My kid loves pooris. Friendly staff, quick service and most of the time it's always crowded.
As a family this is our go-to place whenever we crave for South Indian breakfast. Amazing food, very friendly staff.
Apart from the typical Dosa's and Idly dishes the Chaat here is also fantastic.
The only downside is that there is lots of waiting time on the weekend mornings... i guess it is a good problem to have for the restaurant.
Nice place for Dosa, Onion Uthappam and Rava dosa...moderate cost for Indians, especially South Indians
We regular visitors .Usually have Masala Dosa
Really great food service is moderate
Really loved there Poori Bhaji
Looking for proper South Indian Food or India Food, this is the best place to have food. their Breakfast, Lunch everything is tasty. I have tried their Poori Bhaji and you can say that its the best bhaji you will get comparing to other restaurants Proper Mumbai food. Would recommend if if you are looking for Veg Food. The prices are high for some dishes but worth...

Was out of the country for 20 days and as soon as we arrived we were craving for India breakfast, So we headed to Venus Restaurant as it’s our favorite restaurant for South Indian breakfast.
My go place when i am looking to for some fresh yummy idli sambhar. Been eating at venus since i was a child in Dubai and it’s been 27 years and I still run back with my family.
Food: quite a great place to have breakfast we had the masala dosa along with some nice chutney and it was quite nice
Quality of service: Great
Vibe: Good
Recommendations: breakfast
Thinking back on how we gulped down the karnataka style sambar, that excitement itself was overjoyed! This just reminds me of my days back in bangalore.
I had heard a lot about this place from a friend of mine and we would always have a debate over this, but he definitely wins when it comes to true south indian food in dubai. With the authentic taste of the karnataka sambar and chutney you definitely don't miss out on the idlis and dosa.
All in all i would say when every you miss south indian breakfast then definitely this is a place to visit!!
Reminiscing how we slurped down the karnataka style sambar with so much delight that the taste of the meal comes back all over again!
We were greeted by such a cheerful server and the pleasant experience continued as he generously served us sambar and chutneys such that we have no dearth in options on the table.
Here is what we had:
- Vada : Not in the best in town but definitely worth trying
-Ghee Roast : The ghee flavour does full justice to the the name
- Rava Dosa : Delicious when served hot
- Poori Bhaji : Bhaji could do with more salt ( says a person who generally doesn't much salt in the food).
- Filter coffee : Would have liked it served a little hotter. Taste was good nonetheless.
Good food,family destination restaurant
A great place for a south Indian breakfast .The masala dosa is great with its spicy sambar. It is pocket friendly. It has an average ambience .The chutneys are amazing. The service is fast. The mini tiffin is worth for its money.
Here I ate the best dosas ever. I recommend spinach dosa and also cheese dosa. But to be frank this is only a personal choice. If you like dosas this is the place to visit. If you want to have a sweet my favorite is kesari bhat (not sure if I am spelling it right)
I am a very big fan of masala dosa so that's why I visited this place called Venus restaurant which is situated in Al karama I went there with my friends and write their masala dosa which was very good in taste
A decent place in the heart of karma for vegetarians. Parking will not be an issue during weekdays. The dry versions of Manchurians are a must try. Also they serve good south Indian thalis.
Definitely a favourite for South Indian breakfast meals. Friday mornings do have a bit of a rush but it's the only day they serve Mangalore buns & bonda. So that's understandable. Hands down, the best sambar in town!
Nice place for South Indian food. Must haves are Ghee roast Masala Dosa, Idli and the filter coffee. The sambar is good and the chutneys are nice. Service is great and the place is kept nicely clean.
They serve rice papads complimentary.
Incredible south indian breakfast. Their mini tiffin is a steal deal. Delicious and pocket friendly. Everything is fresh and delicious. I was a big fan of saravana bhavan until i visited venus. Venus is one level above Saravana.
Only south indian here is amazing , Great and very soft Idlis , also the MAsala Dosa served was very crispy and the sambhar made my day . Loved the place.
Venus Restaurant is famous for Indian food specially south indian food.
Ambiance want to be more perfect.
Staff is good responsive but some times behaves rudely.
Now talking about food, a perfect tasty south indian food I tried ever in Al Karama in Dubai.
I love south Indian food as dosa with sambhar, idli etc. and after food taste, I forgot as this place is in Dubai.
If You want to savor the rich and authentic south Indian taste then it’s the place to visit. Friendly support staff and quick service is add on to the delicious taste.
Vast choice of food items is available with Specially cooked for Jains. Go and give a try.
Venus is a value for money, 100% vegetarian South Indian chain of restaurants. This flagship branch is one of the first restaurants to open in the Karama Park square in Karama and has since become something of a landmark. Located next door to Calicut Paragon, it’s laid out over two floors, the upstairs for families and ladies and downstairs for everyone else (including ladies who don’t mind eating with men). I switched to Venus when my regular South Indian breakfast haunt in Meena Bazaar, Emirates House, was closed down. And I’ve been coming here ever since. In fact, this is the restaurant I use to benchmark others against. I love the food here.
Venus restaurant is in Al karamah Dubai search South Indian food Chinese food Indian desserts I have ordered some food items like masala dosa idli with sambar Chinese I have fried rice with manchurian and noodles and in desert if rasgulla gulab jamun food so yummy and tasty just want to go regularly there
You cannot go wrong with Venus. Straightforward simple delicious South Indian fare. Mini tiffing is an all time fav and so are the mini idils. Finish it off with a South Indian coffee ;) cheers
Good and hygienic food. Venus has been maintaining the quality for past many years. Favorites from this place are their South Indian breakfast items.
Loved the food here ... felt like I m back in Karnataka 😃. Waiters talking in Kannada and the good authentic food ...
One place to find Mangalore buns and bajji... it is here !!!! awesome and tasty .. also I think these 2 are only on Friday’s !!!
Dosa also is very good and will make u come back for more !!! Overall a Good Happy morning with authentic food 👍
Venus has been my favorite spot with family since I was a child.
They have always delivered quality food with attentive staff even during peek times.
Gobi Manchurian (Dry) as a starter, Butter Naan and Paneer Butter Masala as the main course and a good filter coffee would be recommended if you are visiting Venus for the first time because this combo would definitely want you to come back again with family or friends.
Keep up the good work guys!
Dosas are really nice and their filter coffee as well. Can improve on their Ambience. Overall good food. must try and recommend to try their Dosas
If it is a Friday morning, it has to be at the Venus a.k.a Amba.
Specially with dishes like Upma Poha, Mangalore Bonda, the sambar idly, it's awesome and very pocket friendly.
Tea here is not so good.
Ghee dosas are too good by fav alawasys Mangalore Bonda or Goli baje.
Dosas are good. Quick service and polite waiters, there's parking around, located opp karama park, crowded on weekends and peak hours. Pure vegetarian restaurant.
Nice crispy medu vada makes breakfast heavy ,wada is made in perfection with good piping hot Sambhar with freshly grounded coconut chutney made amazing.
Totally loved the breakfast at venus restaurant. Pure Manglorian style. Restaurant was packed no doubt it was all worth the wait. Food was great taste was awesome. Love it ♥️
