All food is OK..Place is very convenient..Original Chinese style.. Free refill of tea (even not originally Chinese tea)... Reasonable price of course for JLT area..
Ambiance is so good ,really a good place to have chinese food, , however, the restaurant employees' hospitality compensate for that. Went there for lunch . Thumbs UP
The food was delicious - we couldn't tell what to order off the menu descriptions so we just asked to have what the table next to us was eating, which looked great. We ended up having the Beef with BBQ Sauce and the Crispy Shrimp with Black Pepper... so good - would definitely go back again! Great value & good fast efficient service... I wish they had more photos of the menu items because they only have the names of the dishes and no real description of what you'd get.
Oh hey I love this place! The food is amazing and it comes in large enough portions which I usually end up taking back home. And the prices are very affordable too. I’d recommend the seafood noodle soup for any mood!

Great authentic Chinese. Not infused with any Indian/Pakistani/Nepalese flavours, just authentic, the way it should be! Service on the phone could do with polishing up but overall yummy food!
An actual, authentic Chinese restaurant. I thought I wouldn’t be able to find one outside of international city, so this was a pleasant surprise. Do expect the food to be oilier and saucier than western Chinese places, that’s what gives it its authenticity.
I like this authentic Chinese restaurant. The beef is so good that even I don’t like beef but I ate a lot, strongly recommend. I like the spicy tofu very much also.

Stir fry beef 🥩 is so tinder as well the corn soup was delicious as well you have options small or large size which no other Chinese restaurant they do so you don’t feel full of the soup and continue with you main course, portions are fair enough.

The quality of food at honey has always been excellent and consistent. I have dared to try many items on the menu. I often take my guests here as the food is just so nice. Even my guests remember the food. The service and lackadaisical attitude of the waiting staff there does not do justice though. There is no concept of customer service. I hope the owners can bring back the true authentic Chinese feel to the customer experience.

While working in JLT, Homey Chinese became one of my favourite places to eat at. I and my team would have lunch regularly at Homey's.
Our regular order would be Seafood fried rice and Black pepper beef. I have also tried the Black pepper Chicken here. I will have to admit that the food is pretty good. I am one of those people who try different dishes from a restaurant but this restaurant is one place where I would never mind to eat the same dishes again and again.
The Tea they serve is good and refreshing. Totally worth it after that heavy food. They were shut for a while but have recently reopened. Can't wait to try the food again.

Always love a good familiar taste of chinese food. Had Deep Fried Chicken with Dry Chilli, MaPo Tofu, Stir fried String Beans, Red Rice Chang Fen, Dumplings. It was a feast but my tummy was happy. I strongly recommend the Red Rice Chang Fen, it comes w a small plate of sauce, the wrap is chewy and it wraps the seafood inside w a layer a crunch.
There are not so many authentic Chinese food choices in JLT. This restaurant is not big but cosy. I often order food when they have discount. Here serves family dishes that Chinese people may like to eat every day. Toufu with vegetables and mouth watering chicken are my most favorite dishes, and I usually order a verge dish with garlic sauce for my self.

Ordered the beef dumplings it was pretty good I am sure it would have been awesome if I had at the restuarant, also had the beef rice noodle in black Bean sauce it was amazing tender prices of beef it was great. Delivery time was on point.
Homey is honest Chinese food made to Chinese tastes wow.... being BBC British born Chinese I know what I am talking about. Great authentic tasting Chinese food. Please do not expect western style Chinese food because you will be disappointed. Please go to pf changs or noodle house if that's your taste.

Seen this around JLT for a while so thought would give it a go since it reopened after refurbishment. Ordered online via Zomato.
Menu selection is vast, they have a lot on offer. Some things I recognised, some things seems quite strange and I hadnt heard of which I presume means its more authentic than the normal Chinese you get.
Food arrived about 45 mins. Ordered 4 dished,
Singapore noodles - was expected more a vermicelli style, but it came more chow mein, nevertheless it was pretty good. Had prawns and chicken in it. Could have done with touch more salt (personal choice)
Fried fruity shrimp - chef special - As previous reviews have said, the actual prawn itself was fantastic. Huge and cooked properly. The mango sauce wasnt really for me, but it still tasted good and the prawns were fantastic. Will try another shrimp dish next time just to make sure I get those prawns.
Lemon Chicken - Really good. No complaints
Garlic Chinese Cabbage - Excellent - Cooked properly, had great flavor.
Overall I was impressed. Im not a fan of the Chinese food in Dubai in general, but this is definitely one I will be trying again and I doubt I will be disappointing.
I ate at this place 3 times a week during 2015 and to be honest there isn't anything that appeals to the eye about this place.
The food however is another story, the dishes that I have been fortunate enough to sample are perfectly made.
I on a regular basis order the fried rice noodles with beef, now if many know Chinese cooking the way I do you will know that this particular dish is simple when it comes to the ingredients but not so easy to prepare since a lot can go wrong. With this being said I must say that this is by far the best fried rice noodles with beef that I have had since Halifax.
Their seafood friend rice is as well made as a role time peace; all the flavours flow in synchronicity; they crab and the shrimp don't over power the flavour of the fried rice nor does it give off a repugnant smell that seafood usually does when not cooked right.
Their service is good, they are very attentive and ready to suggest dishes.
Oh and they are worth the price paid.
Chinese being my cuisine of choice and Homey chinese being located close to my work place I just had to visit this (actually I am quite a regular).
I have only ordered for the combination meal (AED 45) which consists of:
1) Soup (my preferred being Chicken hot n Sour).
2) Sticky rice
3) Vegetable ( I opt for "kai Lan" which is Chinese brocolli),
4) A meat prep which the friendly Filipino staff will offer (beef, chicken or fish)- I have tried all 3 and prefer either the fish or chicken depending on the mood I am in.
5) A fruit plate (which I have to remind the friendly Filipinos to serve).
They also serve prawn wafers which are tasty to munch on before the start of your meal.
As the chef/s is/are Chinese the food tastes yummy and authentic and I make this claim as I have been to China and relished Chinese food for 3 long months.
If you are an authentic Chinese food buff and are in JLT then make sure to visit this place.
Hope to try other dishes off their menu.

Having just moved to Dubai after 10 years in China I've generally been underwhelmed by the quality of the Chinese food in this city. That is, until I found Homey, right in my cluster here in JLT! It had been closed for renovations (though now that's it reopened I couldn't point to anything and say, oh well that's clearly new) for my first few weeks in the UAE, but I heard that it had reopened so I decided to give it a shot. I have to say, it was pretty legit, home style Chinese food, which is exactly what I've been craving! It's still strange having Chinese food without pork, but they do a fantastic job at Homey using Chicken and Beef as a substitute in dishes like Yu Xiang Rou Si (their chicken version was delicious!). If you're Chinese, or you're a laowai who actually knows what Chinese food is supposed to taste like, then Homey is well worth a trip.
Best chinese restaurant in town. All menu items are delicious. My favourites are chili beef, fried chicked with fried chilis, sweet and sour chicken and singapore noodles. I go there at least once a month and it is always great taste and very friendly staff.
Been a frequent customer of Homey Chinese over the last year or so and I decided it was time to write a review.
The biggest thing that stands out is their consistency to always deliver quality. I haven't tried a huge number of items on their menu, mainly shrimp, beef, fried rice and a chicken dish. The food here is quite authentic and will also please those looking for modern 'Americanized' Chinese food. Packaging is simple and to the point, which I am happy with, but overall the food here doesn't disappoint and I've never faced a delay with their delivery which on its own keeps me coming back.

For beginners who like spicy food, egg fried rice with mama tofu would be a great mix.
Nice sitting area outside as well next to the beautiful lake.

I don't really eat out much but when I visited this restaurant my stomach exclaimed 'Wow!' It's been a while since I've had some good Chinese food, and I'd like to thank Zomato for helping me discover this gem!
The interiours were cute and the restaurant had a very cosy ambience. When we sat down at our table, we received complimentary prawn crackers and black tea in a cute teapot! We ordered Prawns in Wasabi sauce, and believe you me it was the best prawns I've ever had! It was soft yet crunchy and the sauce made it tasty!
I ordered a Mint Lime beverage, but found out they've run out of mint and hence ordered a Watermelon Juice. It was quite fresh and refreshing! For the main course, we asked our server to suggest something good and non-spicy in Chicken. He recommended Chicken in Black Bean Sauce with Chicken Fried Rice, which was heavenly to say the least! The portions of all the dishes were huge (fit for two easily), and our server was sweet.
We received complimentary fruits at the end of our meal - watermelon and orange slices. They were really fresh and the best way to end our satisfying meal!
The only reason why I would cut 1 point is 'coz of the service, which was at a snail's pace. The food took extremely long (15 minutes easily) and we ended up waiting more than eating *sigh* Even though the food was worth the wait, they need to increase the staff or improve on service time.

Authentic Chinese food. Absolutely delicious. Must try out their prawns wrapped in brown rice and the spicy cold Chicken are to die for- my absolute favourite. Reasonably priced and the guys at the restaurant are so friendly, they make you feel at home, do ask for their recommendations, coz they give brilliant suggestions. Totally in love with this place.
Ordered delivery from Homey on a Wednesday night and the food was on my doorstep in 25 minutes. The Singapore noodles were fantastic. We also ordered the stir fry chicken hot and sour which was quite tasty as well. Homey will be one of my go to places for quick Chinese delivery!
Homey Chinese is a delightfully authentic Chinese restaurant. We visited on a Friday evening and the place was practically empty...but dont let that deter you! The menu is extensive, and an iPad with pictures helps in the decision making. Be sure to ask the helpful servers for recomendations. The food was fresh and yummy. The Wasabi Prawns and Beef flat noodles are a must try. The management is warm and greet you with endless plates of delicious prawn crackers as you ponder over the menu. The complementary Chinese tea encourages you to eat more. The bill for 2 starters, dimsums, rice and noodles for 6 people was under AED 195. Great food and value for money. You know its authentic when the bill is written in Mandarin !
Walked into an almost empty restaurant with the expectation of authentic Chinese food ( not the Indianized versions around town).
We weren't disappointed looking at the menu & the extra talkative waiter took us through the menu with suggestion. While we browsed through the menu we were served a full pot of green tea & prawn crackers (not stingy namesake portions).
We ordered a couple dished from starter to mains & had s good experience overall ranging at 3.5 not a resounding 4!
Can't remember the names but here goes:
- brown rice spring roll with prawn: a big 4 ?
- chilly beef Chinese style : a 3.5
- fish in ginger sauce : a 3.0
- fried rice
These people here are what i can call a legitimate Chinese restaurant from beverages to deserts.
The staff is extremely well prepared and friendly.

I agree with a lot of the other peoples reviews here. It's great to have a restaurant with REAL Chinese food in dubai. Having lived 6 years in China, I've always been disappointed by the lack of Chinese food options here so am happy to see this place ! Ordered take away and it came really quick and still steaming hot. The chongqing lazi ji wasn't anything great but the beef noodles were fantastic as was the tomato egg soup and of course steamed broccoli with garlic was awesome and fresh. Thumbs up !

Yay!! We found an authentic Chinese place near home! I read some of the reviews so was quite excited about trying Homey Chinese. Yes the interiors make sure you know where the cuisine comes from with their rose wood-esque furniture and abacus' on the wall.
And the food - absolutely worth visiting for. First off, they have VERY generous portions so if there are two of you, then prepare the doggie bags. We had the rice noodles with chicken (yum!), cumin lamb (yum but could be crispier. Also the cumin is quite strong so not for the shy types ). We thought of trying the seafood dumplings as starters - and forgot that this can be a full meal for one. They are huge! And super tasty with the vinegary dipping sauce . Eat them while they're hot though. My favorite dish tho was the eggplant in black bean sauce. Thinly julienned pieces, flash fried in the sauce, they were soft but ever so slightly crispy - super yum! I love eggplant and I think i have found one of my fav versions of the veg here.
Special mention also to the really friendly staff. And the nice freebies ( veg crackers, Chinese tea and fruit at the end of the meal). Lovely first experience - we will be back
Good food. Good portions. Dim sums are good enough to get you to come back for a second visit. Main courses were both good or average. Definitely much better than most Chinese restaurants in Dubai. Service was alright (attentive and polite).
Oh wow. Homey is one of the prime examples of hidden gems.
Atmosphere: Personally, I have never sat indoors but from the outside I do know that it has an Asian feel to it as the Asian inspiration is oozing out of the interior design. On the outdoors it's quite calm but during weekdays in Lunch breaks it is full of people!
Staff and service: VERY friendly and attend to us at any time we need them. The food always arrives at appropriate times sometimes even faster than expected! They give a complimentary bowl of fish chips as well as complimentary green tea to every table as a starter which is a very sweet gesture.
Food: the food is another story...good presentation and delicately prepared food in which the flavors are always on point and have a taste that will for sure leave you wanting more such as their chicken sweet and sour. It is real Chinese food.
Warning - this place is not for people looking for Indian chinese. A pleasant change from the typical Indian Chinese, this restaurant serves authentic chinese. Even before the food the interiors of this restaurant are appealing. Beautiful Chinese woodwork around and quite alot of seating available. Nice soup , dimsums and fried rice ( the rice is not long grained) but very bad Sichuan chin with dried chillies. They had sprinkled chat masala on it. All in all a nice place for some authentic Chinese experience.
This place really lives up to its name - Homey. Like home. Simple restaurant with good tasting food. Best part were the AMAZING servers!! They make you feel welcome, explain the ingredients, don't let you over-order (infact they cancelled the rice & soup order which we didn't have) and show you how it's done the Chinese way! Who knew the Chinese have soup after their meal to cut out the oily mains? Definitely coming back here :)
I'm leaving such a high rating because our Server has done an outstanding job at catering to our taste buds. I hate to say it but we've been typical dubai customers and returned two dishes. He has replaced them and done a great job and understanding what we were looking for in terms of taste. It's a quaint little place amidst JLT. The black pepper chicken and egg garlic fried rice was the best of all. For starters you gotta try the red spring roll. Fried inside with a steamed out. Brilliant and paired perfectly with some iced green tea. All in all - i would recommend this place! Do NOT order the chicken shichuan dry chilli dish - you will return it.
Ask for the waiter Tan - he will make it worth your while - what with his happy life coach like advice about enjoying your meal to the fullest!

There was a simple dish called fried egg with tomatos. It was very tasty and my other chinese friend believes it is even better than she had in Shanghai.
During Chinese new year, I took my french and persian friend to the restaurant, they were all amazed by the food. we had squirrel fish (deep fried fish into squirrel shape) with sweet sour taste; lamb, beef and veggies. also we had a cold dish starter of a chicken with peanut sauce+ chilli.
There are so many so-called chinese food cooked by desi chefs and they are not real chinese, I would call them Desi Chinese food. I think when people are used to have PF Chang (American Chinese) and Desi Chinese food, are difficult the accept the real authentic ones.

Homey's, the beautiful Chinese Resto that returned after a long vacation. It's a Chinese restaurant solely managed by Chinese people and the chefs are also from China. So you can expect exotic Chinese dishes there. The beautiful and calm place is located in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Cluster V and has lot of greenery around it.
It has a lot of dishes in their menu and after trying a few of them, we loved them all. It is a spacious place with Chinese style of interiors. The specialty of the place is the best service that we receive from their staffs. Sometimes even the owners themselves will visit the place and recommend us some tasty dishes.
We have tasted both the rice and noodles and loved both. The quantity is good for 2 persons with a medium appetite. For starter I love their Sweet and Sour chicken. The Stir fried chilly beef is also good.
They always serve crispy Chinese chips as a starter for free along with any meal which has a bit of seafood taste. The rice they use is the small fat rice and not the long grain one.
Overall a good Chinese food joint with good food and good service.
Finally it is open again. We went there weekend with friends, same location, same settings and same good flavor. I would recommend: Cheungfun, Koushui Chicken, Deep fry rice noodle with beef, (Gonchau Ouho)-- the best in town, and some other dimsum as advertised.
I'm so glad we finally found an authentic tasting Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. Being Chinese Canadian I have been very spoiled by having some of the best Chinese food available in Canada (Vancouver/Richmond) but have not found anywhere close until Homey. If you are looking for something close to the Cantonese style food you would get in Canada or Hong Kong you should go to Homey. If you want Indo-Chinese or Western Chinese food you may want to skip this place as it maybe too authentic for your tastes.
We ordered twice this week and both times the delivery was quick and the food tasted amazing!

Authentic Chinese Food! Serving is huge, worth the price. We try different dish every visit and it’s worth it. Food quality and quantity definitely worth the expectation.
They close mid-day and reopens around 5PM, so better check with them in advance. Also they offer home delivery.

This is a fine dining restaurant! I must say that the customer service, food, ambiance and vicinity is wonderful. A creek flowing by the resturant and a peaceful environment is all we need while having food. If I say more, you might thing it's bias, go check it out and thanks me later!!
