Excellent tasting authentic Thai /Indonesian food cooked to perfection.
The wonderful friendly and professional staff make the dining experience even more than just the food.
I would highly recommend anyone to visit this little gem of a restaurant tucked away in JLT.
5 stars!
Amazing dishes. Lovely authentic thai/Indonesian kitchen. Very friendly staff and very welcoming. I tried the minced chicken with lettuce wrap, mussels and chicken soup. The flavours were so rich and beautiful. Coming back to this place for sure. Follow me for more food Adventures.
I really like the Kitchen of Thai. The nasi goreng is absolutely my favorite. Whenever I visit Kitchen of Thai I always take the nasi goreng. Food is great, staff is super friendly.
This restaurant has one of the best Thai curry in the city. Tried curry in different places but coming back to The Kitchen of Thai. Love their refreshing exotic salads, soups and rolls.
The kitchen of Thai restaurant is one of my fav places. Their green thai curry is to die for. They do give their complimentary basket of prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, that is superb! This time we ordered for a soup which was without the coconut base... Had all sorts of sea food which tasted fresh & delicious. For the main course we ordered some noodles with broccoli, zucchini, tofu and other veggies which was mildly spicy and well done. We also ordered a dish with fish and lots of capsicums- don't remember the names :( Overall good experience as always.
Food here tastes way more authentic than places like Little Bangkok. I had the Pad Prik Phao with beef, it was very tasty and it was cooked mild as I requested.
Nestled within the C Cluster and just like all the shops in JLT, you need to know it's there in order to find it. Not many evening walks result in stumbling unto this restaurant. It's well decorated in Thai furniture. This restaurant has recently been taken over by an Indonesian business woman and she has added Indonesian cuisine (of course) to the already amazing Thai menu. Let's see what the hype is all about.
Order:
Red Milk tea - it tastes a lot like the Korean red tea but it's in a papaya orange color. Refreshing.
Coconut: it's the whole coconut. Slurp
Keropok (prawn cracker): with some sweet chili...mmmmm
Plaa Hoi Mang Poo (Mussels): slightly spicy and a heavy dose of lemongrass. A tad sour for me but overall amazing. Gulp the whole thing at one go please.
Nasi Goreng: Being from Singapore, I am familiar with this dish. But I heard Indonesia original is a little different. Verdict: it's the same. Good stuff. Rice is wok fried on high fire giving a very toasty smell. Satay is decent.
Dancing Fish: deep fried snapper. Remember to pour the bowl of red sauce over the fish before eating. Fantastic crispy fish. Love it.
Fantastic lunch. Will be back for more!
Very good food , good ambience , very friendly staff.
The owner is very helpful in recommending dishes.
Yummy stick rice!
I definitely recommend this restaurant
The location is not great as it is very difficult to find. Their red curry (spicy) is very good and that's all that I've tried from here. The homemade lemon iced tea was a disaster. Will visit again to try something else.
Consistently great Thai in JLT. Forget about all the big branded Thai places that are merely copy and paste chain restaurants. We have been eating here regularly for the last few years and it never disappoints us or any guests we bring there. I recommend dining in for the best food experience. Many dishes are only at their best when served straight from the kitchen.
Updated: My rating has dropped a little bit after paying 44aed for a shrimp soup on a recent home delivery. Sorry guys but this is not value for money. Still a great place and good food but will be watching the value for money aspect from now on.
I found this place by chance.. it is located behind Gold Crest Executive.. cannot make out from front that there is a restaurant behind.. now it is a restaurant I usually take my business guests to.. Ambiance is ok, typical thai, there is seating out side too. Only issue inside is the weird smell of the thai food ingredients..
The food is awesome.. Tom Yum Soup, Green Curry with steam rice.. and the Phad Khee Mao (Spicy flat noodles).. The Phad Thai is a bit sweet..
Awesome food! The restaurant has changed its name to BaliThai. Means you get to try the Indonesian food as well. Especially the Indonesian chay koay teo it is so fragrant and yummy. Is the best chay koay teo I had in Dubai. If you can't take spicy please order less spicy or no spicy. I tried the bebek betutu and nasi goreng it was nice also. As for the dessert I have tried their kolak and it was good and not overly sweet.
Highly recommended!
I have eaten at this place number of times and honestly it has never dissapointed me. I am surprised little Bangkok has better ratings than this place. I am in love with the thai green curry (Yum yum).
I am not rating them 4.0 because the service over here is really slow. They make you wait and don't come around the table until u call for waiter.
But I will as always keep coming to this place cos it's worth it.
I ordered Tom Yum Kai and Vegetable Pad Thai and not only were they delicious but they're also in very big servings. I feel like one order can already be good for two. Their location is not doing them great though.
Good..infact really good ..jus need to work a bit on their service ..it seems their waiters sure find it really difficult to smile or be a bit more courteous!!..the food though makes up for this shortcoming though...which in my opinion is the best Thai in JLT..
I went for business lunch there and the food was amazing and done very well... I am fan for Thai food.. and the chef here is excellent! :))
Kitchen of Thai is in cluster C below Gold Crest Towers very close to JLT Metro station. it was our third visit to the restaurant.
For a family of 2 adults and 2 kids , we ordered Kang Phed (Red Curry), Kang Massaman, Tom Yum , Po Pia Kia and Satay Kai. Although the service was slow, I think it was due to the fact that everything was cooked fresh and you can feel it when you need.
The portions were large, in terms of taste the food was awesum.
Kang Phed and Kang Massaman were just amazing in which you can actually enjoy the spices and herbs.
For foodies who enjoy Thai food, it certainly is a must visit place !!
Located just next to the metro station in JLT is this small thai restaurant with a view. I had visited this place some time back with my family for the traditional Thai Rice Table meal which is a mix of 10 different dishes from starters to dessert good enough for four persons.
We started off with Vegetable spring rolls with Tom yum soup and papaya salad. The salad was fresh flavorful and the soup was tangy and just right the spring rolls were average.
For mains we were served Green curry with chicken, fried fish fillet with sweet chilly sauce then a sea crab in yellow curry powder, morning glory which is a stir fried vegetable along with jasmine rice and a portion of stir fried noodles. Well this is a lot of food for sure but we cleaned off everything. The food is really tasty and authentic altough the service is a little slow and ambiance average inside the restaurant however in the colder months outside seating has a beautiful view of the waters.
Finished the meal with an ice crushed dessert with water chestnut, jack fruit and palm seed which was cool refreshing and just wonderful.
Definitely recommend for thai food lovers.
Very nice Thai food. Just ordered home and was glad that I did. I tried most of the Thai restaurants in town. The Tom yum is very tasty and so are the curries. Keep it up please and try to use better quality beef, chicken and prawns to go with that outstanding curries.
I really love thai food and I've been to many different places in Dubai from the most expensive posh places to some unknown deliveries.. None of them even come close to The kitchen of Thai!!! This is by far the best Thai cuisine in Dubai!!! The best Tom Yum in all kinds of variations, you can ask them to make it as spicy as you want (or not at all). Superb!!!!
I come here for their Tom Yum Soup. It's wholesome, spicy and delicious. I try not to get adventurous with the other dishes and order the basics, pad Thai or the Thai green curry which are
not bad at all.
They are ok. I love the "morning glory" veggies, and the veggie curry + steamed rice is also good. Beware: big portions! :D
Well I went alone, so couldnt order a lot to try.
Went with the basics ..
Thai Red curry - told them to make it Super Super Super Spicy , and even then not a trickle thru my nose .
But cannot blame them, all thai restaurants in dubai are the same- they dont KILL It till you make them KILL it :-).
The portion was fine and the taste was pretty good , i must say.
Was thoroughly disappointed with the Rice Portions . They were very small , and i ended up paying 20 bucks only for plain rice.
Management if you are listening be fair on this front !
I Simply loved the interiors . Very Nicely done. The staff were neat .
Surprisingly I didnt face a problem with my credit card discount :-) . Thank god .
I have to try the Morning Glory to really make this my preferred choice in Thai restaurants from this part of town.
I was surprised that its was totally empty though, a nicely done up restaurant, i would rather eat here than order home .
2014.07.02
prawn tempura (3 1/2*), papaya salad (4*), pad thai (3*) & green curry chicken (4*)
2014.06.23
green mango salad (3*), chicken satay (3 1/2*) & panang chicken (4*)
Food quality is good and taste is authentic. The service is about average. For a couple of people the service was ok. But when there are multiple large parties in the restaurant then service drops a bit. But food is great.
Free parking at Plaza level & restaurant too is at Plaza level not by lake side.
Small, restaurant with very simple interior, basic seating Indoor & outdoor overlooking the lake as well.
Po Pia TKOT which is recommended dish in menu but not available. Sa tay kai which is chicken satay comes with cucumber sauce & peanut sauce was just OK so the koong tod (Prawn Tempura) was.
For main course we had Pla phad Khuen Chai (stir fry fish fillet with celery, ginger & bean sauce) was average.
Poo pad pong ka ree (stir fry sea crab with yellow powder, egg & celery) was average. The crab was not unfolded in a way to make eating easy. Need good skilled cook mastered in crab cooking in order have one.
Pa Nang Kai (Tangy red curry with chicken) was delicious, only dish we liked & goes well with steamed Jasmine rice. We asked for sticky rice but was not available. Milk shakes were not available. Seems restaurant paying more attention to day time customer only & not expecting customer for evening hence basic things are unavailable.
Refrain from buying any discount coupons for redeem at this restaurant. The restaurant staffs are not trained enough to understand the conditions of fine print on voucher & try to avoid accepting voucher for reason not mentioned in fine print. Witnessed, many other customers, struggling hard to make them understand the fine print conditions of the voucher but without success. I am sure that none of them including myself will ever consider visiting or recommending to any single person again in future. Never experienced this situation at any outlets in Dubai ever before. It is well known to all that restaurants in JLT area are struggling hard for improving business off work hours & this attitude will simply damage their reputation as customers have hundreds of alternatives due to addition of new restaurants every day offering great deals to lure customers.
In spite of having bad evening there the rating remains totally unbiased & without any prejudice to what happen.
