Best Friday brunch. Waiter service by Mei Uleki was great and the food was very tasty! I highly recommend this place.
We have used this venue for brunch on several occasions and we have never been disappointed. Not only good value for money but the staff are very good indeed. Our family is visitingand we will be going again this Friday. Have no fears, book it, you will be pleased. John
Did a brunch there. Amazing, helpful staff and nice selection of buffet salads and foods. Steak was cooked just as we like it. Definitely coming back again.
Well, we had a good time here with colleagues.
The staffs here are really amazing. Food was good and kept coming as we needed.
Thanks for the bday cake 🎂 and the beautiful song.
The place has an outdoor terrace as well with lovely views.
One of the best places in Dubai to get a nice steak from different meat cuts available.
Fairly priced for the quality in my opinion.
Staff are amazing! Super polite and always making sure that everything is ok in a non-invasive way.
Highly recommended.

We searched for somewhere to eat good steak, and this place popped up. We went without a booking and they were able to accommodate us. The ambiance was really nice. Someone was having a birthday and they made a nice show for them. The steak was amazing - they have a great choice and it is cooked to perfection.
I visited Grand Grill early evening for dinner with my husband and two small children. We sat outside on the terrace and a high chair was provided.
The waiter was friendly and service was good. We ordered a mini chicken burger with sweet potato fries from the children's menu and two 400g steaks, both with a side order of chips.
The children's burger was full sized and was more than enough for the two of them to share. The steaks were well cooked and the pepper crust I opted for on mine, made the meat really tasty.
Great venue, great staff and definitely worth a visit.
This was maybe my 9th or 10th visit to The Grand Grill. The first time I ate here the place was packed, I ordered a Rib-Eye then I noticed that around they are all eating ribs. It was then that I found out that on Tuesdays it is all what you can eat Ribs & Chicken. Since then I planned most of my visits on a Tuesday :)
Having said that The Short Ribs are to die for, they are thick succulent and the meat simply falls off the bone.
The Grand Grill is my favorite place in Dubai for Ribs, but last night was not my day.
THE SERVICE: Fantabulous, Daniel is the best server in the world. He is tall and big with a smily cheerful face. He remembers what his customers like and he makes a mental note. I haven’t been to the Grand Grill for almost 8 months but last night when I was about to order a drink he said Diet Pepsi :) How did he do that. He is always attentive, he is funny and extremely helpful. Daniel will make sure that you will leave happy. If you don’t like something about your order he will not question you he will change it immediately. Customer Satisfaction is his motto. I would vote Daniel the best waiter of the decade.
THE FOOD:
The complimentary bread and liver pâté are excellent as usual, best way to start a meal.
The chicken last night was succulent and juicy, perfectly cooked and tastes delicious. The first round of Ribs was average but the second was dry and way over cooked. Daniel did his magic and he removed our plates and got us two new freshly cooked portions of Ribs.
THE PORTION SIZE: On Tuesdays eat as much as you can, nothing can be more generous than that.
THE COST: 115 AED for all what you can eat Ribs & Chicken is a brilliant deal.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Even though last night the Ribs were not the best I’m sure next time they will be better. I would go again to The Grand Grill any given Tuesday :)
I went to the Grand Grill as I was told they specialise in South African Cuisine. Beautiful and elegant venue. The service was very prompt, very attentive, and most certainly very impressive. I indulged heavily in the warm South African conversations I had with the staff as most if not all are from SA.
The only thing that was disappointing was the bunny chow starter I ordered. Now it's a starter so don't expect size, obviously. But where it fell short was flavour. Nothing about it. Absolutely nothing was South African about that bunny chow. It was an abomination of a great Durban cultural institution. Maybe I'm dramatic. Probably. But I love a good bunny chow and this one fell short in every way imaginable.
The Mains were amazing. I would highly recommend. South African 100 day Grain Fed Ribeye was too good for words. I would go back there again any day of the week but for the love of all things holy, fix your bunny chow or just scrap it.
been coming here for the past 10 years, it's consistently one of the best steaks in town, I love their service and the staff is truly one of the best trained in Dubai. It's like a well oiled machine, I've never had a bad experience there and I visit this place at least once every two months.
Thank you Grand Grill for being so consistently awesome.
This place is the perfect place for steak and quality service. Francis served us with his cheerful spirit which made our night. I recommend the Wagyu ribeye in Medium Rare. My boyfriend had the fillet which was also nice and tender. Both were really juicy. Still salivating over it!
Fancy some dinosaur bones?
Then head on over to the Grand Grill for Rib Night where you can be on the receiving end of one of the best meatosauras deals this side of bedrock.
Flavor packed, huge and absolutely delicious, their Beef Ribs and Beer deal is not for the faint hearted.
You know you want it.
Fantastic venue inside and out with incredibly attentive staff and hearty portions.
If the weather is good make sure you ask for a table on the terrace in the evening.
Don't worry if you don't eat meat either, the chef will look after you just as well!
Good steak, good place. Nothing out of the ordinary. Service is also alright, nothing spectacular. I think this place has alot of potential if they step it up a bit.
Had my dinner at the grand hill today and it was great!
Good quality of food and great service. The view from the balcony is limited otherwise this will be a 10.
Highly recommended!
One of the best steak houses in Dubai. Its usually quite and call which makes the experience even more enjoyable. O would urge steak lovers to try this place
I love this restaurant. I've been here 3 times and my favorite is the salmon "main dish" and the the Portobello mushroom entrée and the creme brûlé deserte is amazing ! I also enjoyed the mac and cheese! The service was perfect, I have high standards. Francis was our waiter the last time and he was excellent!
This was my second year in succession celebrating my birthday at the Grand Grill. I’m pretty sure my parents forgot we were here last year, the look of shock on their faces genuine (or worthy of an Oscar) when I reminded them. But whereas last year (my 14th) was a dressy steak, wine and Pepsi night, this year turned into a scene from My Big Fat Greek Wedding with uncles and aunts and cousins…and more cousins, and my dad looking a little peaky at the thought of having to pay for what my mom had turned into a real extravaganza, poor dear. And that’s because this year my birthday coincided with the Grand Grills ribs and chicken night, a long-time family favourite.
I love ribs. I love chicken. So by default, I love the Grand Grill…particularly on ribs and chicken nights. For those of you who haven’t yet been, ribs and chicken night at the Grand Grill is basically all you can eat giant sized beef ribs smothered in BBQ sauce and grilled chicken – yummmmmmeeeeeeee. It always takes a while for the first wave of servings to arrive but after that it’s all go, go, go. Of course we girls maintain our dignity and decorum…yeah right. Especially when my dad and uncle are around, us cousins can really go to town, digging in with our hands and wiping our mouths with our sleeves. And anyway, it’s MY party and I’ll…gorge if I want to.
Service at the Grand is always good but HUGELY embarrassing when it’s your birthday. The entire staff surround your table to sing you happy birthday. And they bring these big DRUMS. Now add to this my Big Fat Greek Wedding clan who of course insist on NOT just joining in the singing but tipsy aunt and mom want to get up and dance too, hammered uncle wants to play the drums…OMG. I just want to disappear. And if you think that’s it, no way; it’s just the beginning. When all the drumming and singing is over…no, I forgot, in the middle of all this commotion they bring me a symbolic cake which my dad HAS to reach over and try…for the sake of the accuracy of his review (oh dear God – Zomato, I’m gonna get you for making him like this)…so drumming, singing and cake eating ends AND now mom, coaxed on by my aunts, wants to start taking pictures. By now disappearing is not enough, I just want to die.
The truth is I had a lot of fun (fun being a relative term). Thank you manager Paul and the entire Grand Grill team. Thank you mom and dad. Dad, the stutter will get better…remember, it’s only money, and people will eventually forget what my mom and aunts did; thankfully no one was hurt. Maybe next year we should go somewhere less public and…less expensive.
A last word before I close: the amount of food we took home for our dogs was criminal; whole pieces of chicken completely intact and untouched, ribs with no more than a bite taken out of them and half a T-bone steak – our doggie bag weighed maybe five kilos. We hear so much about drinking responsibly and not enough about eating responsibly. Waste, especially where food and water is concerned, is as big a killer as drink…perhaps even bigger. And that’s my birthday resolution…less waste.
I really liked this place. The food was great and the service was excellent.
I ordered a nice Shiraz from south Africa and it was very good.
I had to choose the Sirloin from South Africa, and I was glad I did. The meat was very tender and juicy, I loved every bite of it.
My husband had the rump steak and he really enjoyed it too.
For dessert we tried the carrot cake and I also really liked that. All in all a great experience and we will be back.
I must say that the steak is really good (as it is) but pairing it with their flavorful sauces make it a notch higher! They have a wide selection of wines to pair with the steak of your choice. Really good ambiance esp the dimly lit lights and the accommodating staff. Will def go back!
A special occasion calls for a special restaurant and when your a meat lover this place does it well. As we entered we were greeted with a wide smile, really polite staff and well organized. A south african theme, the entire restaurant represented it very well. With face masks around, the dim lighting, wine well stacked all around, animal skin on the wall, the african paintings added to the charm, also the bamboo sticks used. Overall it is beautifully done. However considering it to be a fine dining restaurant, it seemed too crowded and noisy. Each tables were almost cramped to the next one with little space left.
Typical South African venue with outstanding meat, tasty, especially the BBQ ribs, great stuff. Waiters are professional and soffuse lights give the right atmosphere to leave thoughts behind and enjoy a nice evening whether on a romantic date or with friends.
Great south african grill with a twist
Excellent for a business lunch or casual dinner
Great selection of meats and sauces
Try their stuffed mushrooms
Mouth watering steaks, good staff good food
South Africa in Dubai 😉 Keep it up guys
Candle light dinner makes the eve and the staff is so entertaining when there is anyones birthday , the staff sings and plays drum ! This is so owesome
One of the most delicious steak I have tasted!! Too bad I wasn't able to take a picture of the steak because we were seating outside.
I ordered Prawns for my starter and the Argentinean Fillet Steak for my main course together with Mashed Potato, Sweetened fries and salad. I was so full already after eating their starter. Of course, a girl with a sweet tooth will never leave without her dessert. For dessert I ordered Red Velvet Cake! It was LOVE.😍
Take note guys, bring your girl here. They would love the ambiance, the view, the desserts and the servers were very friendly and accommodating.
Nice place with amazing steaks. Staff is friendly but sometimes hard to understand what they are saying ;) they are very helpful and if you have birthday all the staff is singing and playing in drums for you :) place is a bit expensive.
A recent visit from a Friend staying in the Habtoor hotel on JBR, prompted a spur of the moment visit to The Grand Grill.
The beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, limited menu and fun African themed music all come together nicely.
The restaurant offered an -A la carte- and express lunch menu. We opted for the 99AED, two course lunch.
A rich and creamy Butternut & bacon soup was our first course. Perfectly portioned and well presented. We loved it!
The main course was another well presented Cherry glazed Salmon fillet, cooked medium well, accompanied by a side salad. From the first bite it was mouthwateringly good.
Overall, it filled the gap in our stomachs just right. An excellent surprise. I would most certainly recommend this lovely African gem, and be returning soon!!
Bravo to the Chef!
This restaurant can be a lot of fun, noisy too if it’s your birthday...or any special occasion for that matter. It must be an African thing because Tribes in MOE has similar, ‘round up the staff, beat the drums and sing – loudly – till you’ve put sufficient colour on your special guest’s cheeks’ routines. Good fun.
The Grand Grill offers two of the best meat deals in Dubai, and I refer specifically to their Tuesday night, all-you-can-eat, Beef Ribs & Chicken night which at AED115 per person is simply ridiculous value. And then there’s their daily business lunch at AED99 – amazing! Bear in mind this is a fine dining restaurant. I hear their Friday brunch is also very good.
Let’s get right down to it – these boys know how to cook meat. Their steaks have that to-die-for, seared-on-grill taste I covet and their Ribs, oh dear God, their Ribs are slow cooked to juicy, tender, fall of the bone perfection. For meat-eaters, the Grand Grill can be a spiritual experience.
Service is excellent – genuinely warm, friendly and hospitable whilst being professional and relatively fast at the same time. And of course at this time of the year there’s that lovely outdoor seating area…
I love meat but tonight I felt so "fishy", not even being in a steak house stopped me from opting for the alternative off the sea! I waited skeptically and happened to get the best fish dish I had for a long time! Monk fish, salmon and tuna all cooked to absolute perfection...
The grand grill is basically a South African grill. Subtle influences of commercial Africa adorn the walls, paintings etc...
We sat outside, since it's cooling down. One downside it's quite dark, so the little candlelight really puts it in a romantic mood.
Grain fed South African rib eye was amazing, the Mozambiquen prawns were abit tough. The boerewors and pap with chakalaka was a real taste of home.
Of course had Malva which was probably one of the best I have ever had! Next time I would like to try a potjie....
The Zulu drumming happy birthday was a cool extra touch
We went all together with our friends for my wife's birthday. Very good and very nice. Everybody was happy and definitely a perfect place.
Cost is reasonable for such restaurant.
For sure we will come back just for the pleasure.
Polite and helpful staff and good food. The restaurant has a very canteen-ish ambience and the food, though good, was more on the pricey side for a restaurant of this calibre.
Oh, and when they did serve the Bloody Mary without the salted rim and I pointed it out, all I got was a wry smile.
All in all - not worth the high price.
A special occassion calls for a special restaurant and when your a meat lover this place does it well.

I noticed each table were set before we are seated which was good. Once settled we had to literally raise our voice to be heard since the noise around wouldnt allow otherwise.
Moving on to the best part...
STARTERS -
We were first provided with a complimentry set of bread slices with a cream sauce ( which tasted of chicken liver ) - really good.
After our first set we ordered Boerevors - a simple yet well presented appetisar. On a plate were three polenta, topped with sausage and the dressing. The sausage was really juicy and the bread was bland however went well with the dressing.
MAIN COURSE - I Chose the Australian sirloin (400gm) medium well, along with steak fries on the side and creamy mushroom sauce too. The steak was beautifully done, tender, juicy and a good portion. Easily could be good for two. The fries were equally good as elsewhere we would get. All this being said the mushroom sauce was a dissapointment. It lacked flavour and made me wonder how could such a restaurant go wrong at this simple sauce. This was a shocker.
Australian Wagyu 6+ Marble - Rib eye (Medium), along with steak fries and bernaise sauce. The steak again was cooked well and tasted as well. However again the sauce wasnt upto the mark. I definitely had bernaise sauce way better in other restaurants. Here it tasted more like a curry flavour and thus didnt enjoy.
We summed our dinner with a carrot cake, which was fine.
Must highlight i really liked the birthday celebration songs sung by the staffs, using an african drum. Made my feet tap and enlightened the mood across the restaurant.
I wished the sauces would have been to the mark along with my steak to make my evening more pleasurable.
I really like this for a more casual steakhouse experience. Service is always super friendly, and food is good. Decor is a bit outdated though, and food presentation is a bit old-school. Worth it if you go with an Entertainer voucher
Simply the best steak I've had in years. Cooked perfectly, tasted amazing. Really there's not much more to say but zomato asks for 140 characters!
Fantastic place for meat lovers. Went out to dinner last night with my fiancé and we ended up ordering too much food! And a bottle South African red wine. We started with the lamb bobotie and spicy prawns. For mains, I ordered the spicy chicken and the man ordered steak. Sides of roast root veg and pumpkin mash. Great place to enjoy a nice dinner. Will be going back again for sure :).
I came here for dinner to catch up with my friend. We are both fans of steak and have been to the Grand Grill before so I thought it's about time I wrote a review.
For starters I had some halloumi. It was tasty and the portion was very big, in fact I didn't finish it to make sure I had space for the steak! My friend had the scallops and seemed to enjoy it also. My steak was a 300g Argentinian ribeye done medium, with a side of steak fries. This was cooked perfectly and the portion size was good. With a couple of beers added to the equation I was very satisfied by the end of the meal.
The service is very good here, with waiters checking regularly but not so often as to become annoying.
An added bonus is that they accept Entertainer vouchers so we felt that we had a great meal for a very good price.
Good day to all of you, we hope you had a great weekend so far.Have you been to one of the may outlets in the Habtoor before? One can find anything in this newly refurbished resort towards the Marina in Dubai. There is a sports bar, two clubs and many different restaurants to choose from. One of them is the Grand Grill, located on the lobby level of the hotel. We initially made a reservation a week prior to our visit and therefore had no difficulties to find a nice place on a Thursday evening. The purpose of our visit was a company dinner, and we found White Grill to be a great, unique location for such an event. The welcome was friendly and we felt that we found a great location for a great evening ahead.Initially taking a seat on of the round tables we felt a bit uncomfortable - the table was too big for us to have a proper conversation, we felt like we had to shout at each other. We then relocated to another table where we sat opposite each other. Our waiter, Bike, a young, friendly and ambitious gentlemen took great care of us. He introduced himself, followed by a wide recommendation of beverages and menu items, offered us water to start with and left with a smile.SMILE is written in capital letters here - as all of the staff seemed to be happy, energized and glad about serving their guests. We felt great during the entire stay. The food, especially the starters such as prawns, watermelon salad with goat cheese and the mains such as steak and fish were great. The meat options on the menu were plenty - for a vegetarian however, who joined a couple of meat lovers, it was hard to find anything appealing on the menu which was a shame. We really hoped for more than 2 options only (Zamosa and an Indian dish only). What ever we ordered however tasted great, and was accompanied by staff who was friendly, caring and made us feel very comfortable. So comfortable that we decided to order another bottle of read wine and spend the rest of the evening outside on the terrace. We enjoyed our stay and wanted to thank the team, especially Bike for the great experience we had at Grand Grill. We will be back, that is for sure. Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks, keep in touch.SE
We just returned from our fourth visit to Grand Grill and it is the warmest welcome in Dubai: a great way to start any meal and a startling contrast to indentured South-East Asians trying to smile through the slave wages they are paid by their absentee-owners, and their boiler-plate sales pitches masquerading as greetings. Do I digress? Deal with it. Service in Dubai is an abomination, mostly because we don't speak up and demand to be treated well, even though we're being charged for it.
You won't have this problem at the Grand Grill (you will at MJ's at Al Qasr and Ruth Chris's at The Address) because the espirit de corps at this restaurant is superb. Many of the staff are themselves South Africans and they take enormous pride in their offerings and their friendly, expert service.
Meats are the specialty at Grand Grill. The steaks are superb, as good as MJ's and JW's and superior to Ruth Chris's. And half the price. Of course you'll have to forgo being sneered at or having untrained staff performing The Amateur Hour, like at Ruth Chris's. Fascinating wine list. Oddly there is a sparkling sauvignon blanc on the menu, cheap as dirt and whose acidity marries perfectly with steak or even ribs. Don't miss the "Traditional Bobotie" appetizer: essentially marinated, grilled and sliced lamb served with two sauces, one of which is a curry-banana ice cream and the other a fruity thing. Break out and just try it. One appetizer serves three. It's a revelation. Not even in Kansas City have I had better ribs: succulent, grease-less and well seasoned. There are wonderful salads and several vegetarian options. Portion sizes here are out of control, so share and be frugal. We also went to the wonderful brunch here, which is a bargain at 325 with drinks but only if you're a steak lover. Otherwise it doesn't make economic sense, though there is a wide assortment of vegetable side dishes and perfect--and I mean PERFECT--fried shrimp. I love the Grand Grill, I have brought the family here and I've come here midweek, alone, after a hard day just wanting nice food, a glass of red wine and people who will be happy to see me. Grand Grill is a wonder. Great food. Great value. Best-in-class service, and that is better than 7 out of 8 restaurants in Dubai of any class. Strongly recommended.
The best thing about this restaurant is by far its atmosphere and service. Staff are friendly and the relaxed, yet cheerful vibe of the interior and exterior of the restaurant set the scene for a very enjoyable meal indeed!
The menu is extensive and features many South African favourites. I have had the fish curry, steak, boerewors, scallops and bunny chow. These were all delicious and well-priced. My only complaint (which is completely beyond the restaurant's control) is that it does not feature South African meat. It would be lovely to see some SA beef and a game meat like ostrich.
On my first visit to Grand Grill Friday brunch I had a mixed experience. I think the price of 325aed is very reasonable for what is on offer. Lovely fun atmosphere. DJ playlist fab. Service was hit and miss. No actual menu so you know exactly what is on offer. I had to judge what to order by looking around at other tables. At the end of brunch i saw a lovely someone eating a Salmon steak, wish I had seen that earlier... I would have loved sauces with the steaks too. Nothing was offered. Certain drinks ordered never turned up. Shame. Overall it was a nice afternoon. Can't help wondering though if they could improve their levels of service. . .
The place is perfect for meat lovers. South African ribs and steaks. This was a corporate affair hence we had a set menu which was quite elaborate.
We started off with grilled mozzarella and tomatoes appetizers, traditional South African bobotie and smoked salmon.
For the mains we had a choice of infamous ribs, steaks and vegetarian lasagne.
For dessert we had the traditional Mulva cake which was moist and sweet enough to end a great meal.
Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted like home - as per some of the nationals we had in our team.
Would definitely recommend the place to all meat lovers.
Cheers!
Great food, great service. Staff are friendly and knowledgable, able to make good recommendations and also willing to personalise some of the food on the menu. Great portions as well. It's a great reflection of South African food and atmosphere. Have been here for their brunch and for dinner, every time it's been a great experience. Great value for money too.
Love the Grand Grill Brunch. Great outside area good for fun not stuffy celebrations. Food is simple but tasty. The highlight is the service, always friendly, super casual and eager to make you happy. Go to for a reasonable price fun brunch.
My rating might be baised because its a South African place...I got excited when I got there ..being greeted by friendly South African staff was super special..We were seated outside, decor traditional wooden modern kraal type setting, Loved it..blaring out teh speakers, SouthAfrican Pop music ..perfect...It was going to be a good night...I was over the moon to see they had my favorite Rose wine..Nederbergs..Ahh heavenly...for starters we ordered pap and boerewors (pap is cooked maize meal-staple food for many in SA) boerewors is traditional sausage..it was so yummy, gave me instant nostalgia. ...for mains I had the oxtail with mash potato..Im very particular about how I like my oxtail done, this one was made to my impeccable standard, soft, succulent juicy and gliding on the bone..It was so tender so delicious. The presentation was amazing, it came in a little poitjie pot, a minature three legged pot that these dishes are usually cooked in..I was pleasently satisfied....what a wonderful experience..our waitor Trevor was the best ever.. Loved this place...all good things must be done twice..this is one of them...
Wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. The menu features many of South Africa's favourite traditional dishes with a modern twist and beautifully presented too. The waiters are so friendly and approachable it's just like being back home in SA. Make sure to save some space for dessert because they are too yummy to skip!
I've been to the Grand Grill on three separate occasions, each very different and each absolutely fantastic.
The first experience was a Friday brunch, I booked a table for my birthday for 26 people. We were welcomed by smiling friendly staff who seated us and wasted no time getting us all our first round of drinks. From this point until the brunch finished our bottles/glasses were never empty. Just what you want when paying for a brunch!! Food wise there is a salad bar inside which you can select from to accompany your steak and ribs which will be cooked and brought to as and when and how you want them! The vibrancy and atmosphere is fantastic, with all the staff getting in on the fun and creating a lively atmosphere. The music is the background is 80s/90s and creates a real good feel about the place. I have to say this is my favourite brunch in Dubai.
Secondly I went on a Tuesday night when my parents were over visiting Dubai, it was steak and ribs night and for just 100dhs (approx.) you could eat as much steak and ribs as your desired! Make sure your hungry!! The food is delicious and once again the service superb. Expect to pay a hefty price for your drinks, with it been an expensive hotel.
So enjoyable was the steak and ribs night we went back again on my parents final night of their holiday. This time we ordered from the menu and decided to splash out on the steaks. Cooked to perfection hearty and filling, certainly no complaints.
Overall a great restaurant, that delivers a high quality service with a smile. I recommend the brunch to all!

It has been always the best steakhouse with great steaks and a great ambiance
Have to say that their steaks are the best with a great selection of meats. Service is excellent, a bit expensive but worth every penny.
