As a child, I grew up passing by there while going to Jumeirah Centre and (to this day) I would often see it full of middle aged Emirati businessmen sitting around the bougainvillea outside or inside closer to the wafting smell of their divine croissants. It is still the same but I’ve only recently begun to go and highly recommend their breakfast combinations, coffee, and zaatar croissant. Food is a fusion of French, Lebanese, and Emarati but it is a fusion done well.
This cafe has been around since the 90s - it's such a nostalgic feeling going here. My sisters and I still go to this location of Gerard whenever we get together. It's a cozy little cafe in Jumeirah with indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance is lovely and the service is always on point. Everyone is really friendly, I have not had a cappuccino like this anywhere else. It's just so good.
I am not a fan of coffee. When I am forced to be in a coffee shop for a meeting or so, I always look at the juices or desserts. This place is cosy and very comfortable. Loved the service too.
It has been around 20 years. We wanted to see the place and taste the croissant. The Zaatar, chocolate and almond were delicious and fresh. Mr. Gerard was on leave so probably we can see him on our next visit. Nice place and good service.
Gerard is a Dubai institution! They have the best croissants ever in the entire galaxy! I have been away for 18 years. One of the reasons I came back to UAE is to enjoy their almond croissant again!
Cozy and pleasant place in between shaded area of greenary.. yummy desert and tasty juices.. a place to be relaxed and chat with gr8 menu. Staff is friendly too

Lovely place to sit and relax with your coffee or tea. Located very conveniently right next to Maghrudy bookstore and a pharmacy. It's surrounded by lovely trees. It's hot now so we sat inside and ordered their iced coffee, Moroccan mint tea and almond croissant. All were fantastic. We look forward to enjoy many more coffees and teas there.

I have been to this place a lot of times. And I like it. I love this branch way more better then the one in downtown.
Staff:3.5/5. The staff will is friendly and ready to help. Thought sometimes you need to find them.
Ambience:3.5/5. Decent enough. They have the options of couches and chairs that you would prefer.
Food:
Cheese croissant: I loved cheese croissant 🥐 It was really fresh and crunchy. It tasted really well.
Penne arabiatta: The pasta was good as well. It tasted great but not something I would crave for.
Pizza margherita: I loved how well the plan Zaw was baked. Just the right amount of pizza sauce and Cheese. Perfectly well baked and tasted really nice.
Cafe latte: Again this tasted really well. There coffee are really good.
I love this place, it's easy to just call them and they will deliver to you car. The mini three color is cute and delicious. The iced cappuccino is my addiction. I'm here everyday.
Coffee and books are a match made in heaven. Reason why Magrudy's, one of the oldest bookshops in Dubai is surrounded by so many cafes. Of these, Gerard goes back a long time, a true blue Dubai French amalgam of fine times over coffee, confectionery and sandwiches. An open courtyard seating, delicious pastries, and cappuccino. A slice of the best of old Dubai. Salute Mr Gerard.
When I started being addictive to coffee, I did not know a good place to grab a cup of coffee until I found this Cafe where they serve the best coffee in my opinion "3 colors med sugar".
My favorite gerard branch, i love spending time here with friends, three colours remains my favorite coffee, definitely worth trying if you still havent been to this amazing coffee shop
Gerard’s café is one of Dubai’s favorite café’s, as its Dubai’s own French patisserie creation, which has consistently served some of the best food. Their breakfast is especially very nice. They have been around for about three decades or more and for those who have been around in Dubai for long, they share a special bond with this place.
With many new cafes that have come into town, Gerard’s has definitely seen competition but still holds it ground and quality. They have a nice new renovated space and a beautiful outdoors which is great in the cooler months.
A must try if you haven’t given this place a shot.
This place has the best ice coffee in the world. The people that work here are very nice. They also have other things to eat which are amazing. Every thing is freshly baked. I would recommend this place to everyone for there ice coffee and fresh delicates

Friday morning- at their outdoor patio is the place to be. Croque madam is my favourite .

In all my years in Dubai, this Gerard branch has consistently had the best cappuccino in town. Even the croissants are very nice but you need to get them in the morning otherwise they always run out. All the stars on this review are dedicated to solely the cappuccino! The cheese and mushroom omelettes are delicious but my only complaint is that the mushrooms used aren't fresh.
Can't get a better cappuccino anywhere else. This place has been around for almost 3 decades but hasn't let go of its perfect cappuccinos. Well done team Gerad.

Being a coffee enthusiast, reading all these great reviews on zomato, lured me into visiting this place!
This restaurant is on a secluded corner on the busy Jumeirah road, when we visited it was filled with locals and was bustling with energy!
We ordered for a caramel au lait and a caramel macchiato along with a slice of their opera cake. The opera cake was creamy and soft, while the caramel macchiato was too mild for my taste. However the kind server provided me with an extra shot that made it just fine.
The caramel au lait was extremely strong and I would recommend it for those who love fine espressos!
They also gave us complimentary chocolate cookies and coconut macaroons which were delicious!
Will be visiting soon to try more of their coffees!
One of the great places to be. Food and service is very good. Especially with their pastry you will feel real and lovely France atmosphere.

This old school, genuine coffee shop by Monsieur Gerard as I affectionally call him has been the place to have their signature cappuccino for many years (Consider it a legacy!).
The seating area outside is great during winter season and when the weather is nice and cool.
The cafe offers spacious seating areas to meet friends over coffee or their brilliantly made croissants and pastries.
A favourite amongst the locals (UAE nationals) and the expat community in Dubai.
Its all about the taste of coffee that runs in your head with every sip. Coffee with a taste of pureness... patisserie also not to missed out

Famous for their 3 colors coffee and their various breakfast types, the 3 colors coffee is the signature of the place, and their croissant also is famous. My best place for breakfast in Jumairah.
This place has great style and atmosphere, there should be more places like it ! Four of us had tea and cake (all voted delicious, with plentiful portions), the service was good despite the fact that they were full and very busy. I didn't think it was expensive considering the quality of the food and décor - I've had to spend more elsewhere in places far inferior to this. We will definitely be going back !
I've been to Jumeirah Branch , overall experience is pretty good , original products that I have nerver tried or found anywhere else. Every morning I get my breakfast and coffee from Gerard , it's a common practice.

you cant possibly be in dubai -jumaira and not know about gerard's 3 colors or cappacino , no doubt they are on of the best coffee outlets around, however i feel that they are lacking food wise, tried a lot of their pastry , was not happy with it , lets just say they should stick to what they know best! Good coffee
ive never been to other branches, only tried the jumeirah one, that there is a parking behind it, you can order right there and they will bring it for you as take a way, and most of the times is very crowded. i like their coffees, but some people think its over priced. hmmm i dont know what to say about that exactly, because when ever i tried it, it was my friend's treat.
their hot chocolate is nice , even like their cappuccino and ohhh yea was going to forget it their club sandwiches are delicious too. oh i guess i said everything is nice there. ok over all give it a try, it worth it.
With great memory comes Gerard...Oh Gerard with with those cappacino and 'teacino' who could go wrong in 90s of Dubai ...a true oasis in desert of those 80s and 90s era....I have spent endless hours sipping eating chatting and reading at those place attended by some very wonderful staff and paople.....I am glad it is still there!!!!

There are very few places in Dubai (albeit a growing number) that offer great coffee. Gerard's is the original. It has been around since I was born, and in fact I used to live 2 doors down from this original one in Jumeirah 1. My mother used to take my brother and I here for hot chocolates when we were kids, so the first cocoa I had was here. So of course, this place has a very special place in my heart. I come back now for the coffee (although their cocoa is some of the best). Run by the same French owner, this place has retained its quality through the years.
The cafe au lait is the best in Dubai, in fact it may be the only traditional cafe au lait in this city. For those who do not know, let me explain the difference between a latte and a cafe au lait. A traditional latte is a shot of espresso (30 ml) topped with about 150 ml of steamed milk (with a bit of foam) - it is funny to know that in Italy it is a drink often given to kids who cannot drink a stronger espresso, but has become popular due to it's American influence (thank you Starbucks). A french cafe au lait (often called inversed/reversed coffee because the coffee is added after the milk) is about half strong brewed dark roast filter coffee (or espresso) topped with thick streamed (slightly salty) milk. It is a heavy morning drink, and has its own flavour. If you haven't been to France or have not tried this traditional morning drink, I highly recommend a trip to this original Gerard's for a trial.
Do not be scared away by the sea of black and white clothing (it is frequented mainly by Emiratis) into thinking that this is a tradtional local place, the offers are properly french with a pleasing touch of the local flavour. For example, their mini pizza is a traditional french offering with a croissant like dough topped with french emmental cheese, and a sprinkling of za'aatar on top for a wonderful local twist (see photo). Their croissants are properly French and my favourite in the city. I come here often in the mornings for a perfect French breakfast of croissant (order some preserves on the side) and coffee. There is a reason that longtime locals have frequented this quiet Dubai institution for the better part of the last 3 decades, I highly recommend a try.
This lovely little cafe is tucked away somewhere behind all the lights on Jumeirah road, and I'm glad it is. Located away from the sounds and hustle-bustle of the Beach Road, this Parisian cafe provides for a great sanctuary.
Now you can get all the coffee you want from the bazillion chain style cafes scattered across Dubai, but for a real great cup of coffee and some me-time, head to Gerards. Its for the major part self-service, but it has a lovely small collection of baked goods too. Their hot chocolate is one of the best I’ve tried in town, and their croissants provide to be great accompaniments, where you have a choice of cheese, zaatar, chocolate and plain. My recommendation: Try the chocolate croissant with your hot chocolate, you’ll love it.
Their little cakes and biscuits are great for takeaway. All in all, with a pleasant staff and some great little café eats, this place is a must visit.

It's funny how many of my friends are seemingly addicted to coffee. Its funnier still when they sip on a tall glass almost filled with foam & whipped cream while professing their love for coffee. Because that stuff isn't really coffee. Coffee is when you don't need to add a syrup or a topping to it because it's so flavoursome on its own. Coffee is what you would find in a French or Italian roadside cafe bursting with local citizens. Coffee is what you'll find in Gerard, one of Dubai's best kept secrets.
Maybe it's because Gerard is so well hidden out of view. Maybe it's because people are too busy crowding up the nearby Starbucks & Costa to notice. But Gerard has still managed to find its clientele. Any evening at this cosy little Parisian cafe sees a drove of real, unpretentious coffee lovers crowding the few flimsy chairs that they have stuffed in and around the cafe.
And why not. The coffee, as I said, is real coffee. Their cappuccino is officially the best I've had in Dubai. Even their simple iced coffee hits the spot. Combine whatever drink you like with their fresh
baked goodies, like their excellent Parisian palmiers, and that's your evening sorted. Add to that the relaxed vibe of the place, and is easy to see why this is my favorite cafe in town.
To be frank, Gerard offers something not everyone in Dubai can appreciate. But for those who do relish
those finer things, this is a spot not to be missed.
