The food is good- not outstanding or even great. Whats exceptional is the ambiance and service- its your classic cozy go-to neighborhood coffee shop.... if it were run by some Pakistani uncles and aunties.... with some Dubai hipsters thrown in for good measure! So you get awesome all-day waffles and heart-stopping chocolate deserts plus you get a gorgeous Kashmiri mountain tea or a solid tikka masala and its the best of both worlds. Wifi always works, chai is always creamy, music is always soothing. When I work from home, I come here and feel like I'm winning at life. :)

The service is awesome, the staff is great and the food really really tasty! One of my favourite grill places! Such tasty seekh kebabs and lamb chops. Used to frequently order from here when my best friend lived in the area. We’ve spent many tasty nights eating at the restaurant and ordering in! Good service and good food 🤩

Strongly recommend to stay away from this place. A soup is served in 45 minutes and main course is served in no less then 1 hour. They do try their best, but they are simply incompetent. The food taste is pretty average as well

Amazing place for friends, family and business meets... extremely best hospitality where all the staff greet and treat with amazing delicious food. Good experience, tried the place after they recently refurbished the seating area, only reason i couldnt give full rating is due to the garbage smell around the dining area as restaurant is next to the chute room of blue towers

Came across this place, on one of my finds for lunch from work. Its closely located to my work place so became one of the usual places for my lunch. Have tried their Chicken Shawerma, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Biryani and Chicken Seekh Masala along with some beverages. The food is quite okay. However, their Biryani is good in taste with a homemade touch. The place is small and is quite full at lunch hours. Their Kashmeri Tea is one of the best that I have come across. If you work close by then do give it a try.

I visited yesterday for the breakfast buffet. Overall items were good and tea was the best.<br/>Hygiene was very poor, saw 2 cockroaches roam around, picture of 1 of them attached.

Just awful. I ordered the Lamb Chops which was supposed to come with fries but instead came with bland, steamed potato wedges with not even a packet of salt or kitchen. The chops were overcooked, burnt and had hardly any meat. Total ripoff and disappointment. The watermelon juice I ordered was room temperature like it had been sitting there for a while. To top it off, it took an hour and half arrive when my office is just a few yard and floor away.

Food was decent but it took them nearly 1/2 hour+ to get my friends and me the starter soups which weren't very good either, the only soup which was worth the wait was the tomato basil soup, which one of us was lucky to order. The grilled dishes we ordered didn't lack taste but the quantity seemed pretty less. Overall need to work on the service time because people come in hungry and wouldn't want to wait for an hour+ to get something to munch on.

I went there for a lunch buffet. And i should say they are quite good. Enough seating downstairs and first floor. Food is good and rate is cheap for a buffet. May be they should introduce some good deserts.

This Restaurant is right next to our office , so one day me and my colleague tried their Buffet Lunch. The food is OK and caters to all people. The veg option are lesser than the Non-Veg but the Spread is worth your money. One dish i dint like was their Chicken Mamouth , where the salt was too much.they had One Indian Dish which was Chciken Makhani which was also a OK curry. I ordered for Mojito which is for 10 bucks only .Their must try drink  is CHai!! Coming to the Ambiance. They have Decorated the small space very well and with good lights. there is space to eat upstairs as well which i dint happen to see . Overall an OK restaurant to try occasionally for office Lunch .

I have been here twice based on the feedbacks I read on zomato.<br/>First time i tried their breakfast buffet, the veg options were limited and that's probably cause i went to eat just at the opening time. But even the limited options was too much for me to eat as a breakfast.<br/>So the 2nd time around I ordered for chai paratha. The paratha took some time to be served but it was good. I'm assuming it's wheat paratha from the look and taste of it. My colleague & I got to visit the restaurant today afternoon after a meeting. After being welcomed by a friendly smiling server, we ordered the mutton kabab & parathas along with Kashmiri Mountain Tea. The food was tasting average with cold mutton kebab even though it was brought to the table with a sizzle. The parathas were yummm, flaky & wasn’t oily at all. Kashmiri mountain tea is an experience worth trying...might come back to try out the other dishes

Its not on the menu but you can request them to make it (we always ask for it to be spicy). We order the full breakfast which includes the omelette/bread/honey/jam/Fresh Juice/Tea or Coffee.<br/><br/>What elevates it is the parathas that they serve which are amazing. Light, flaky and not oily at ALL. In the winters we like to sit outside in the cool sun and enjoy this every Friday. Service can often be a hit or miss but its courteous. Its super value for money I have to add<br/><br/>Also if we dont want to cook , we order BBQ food from here which does the job at the prices they have.

Today i placed my lunch order with them at my office which is close by. I waited for an hour and called them as it wasn't delivered, only to know the delivery boy is busy and they will send it shortly. Just to let you know i already had my dinner and he hasn't reached me so far.

The selection of food is incredible and the chef never fails to disappoint. if you're in the mood for the all day breakfast option, I would highly recommend the Breakfast Waffles. These crispy waffles are savory, delicious and will satisfy every craving.  However, if you want to try a main course I would go for The Great Balls of Kafta. They are great if you like food that is on the spicier side and it is a wonderful South Asian dish! <br/><br/>The service is also outstanding! They staff is always friendly and I have never had an issue getting my food. I have even grown to know the owner personally from going so often! I heard this was a nice place and i thought of ordering. My order was taken and i was told that in 20 mins i can enjoy nice food. 20 mins....30min.....50min....nothing from the restaurant so i called. To my surprise they were not even going to deliver as they told me after i called. I felt so stupid that i was waiting for and order that was taken by the restaurant was not actually taken to be delivered and they had decided that they wont complete the order them selves. Very BAD service , no communication from the restaurant, even the English speaking skills were challenged. I wont recommend them at because of the services and i not sure about the food because i never got a chance to try that.

Belgian chocolate pancake - Too rich chocolate in pancake and syrup and the pancake was mushy and quite unsettling in mouth, could have been better. <br/>The Everything - the main breakfast course was filled with a lot of broccoli, mainly veggies and there was no equal proportion on the meat section. <br/>But indeed, a very good place with a calm ambience. Could improve on these items. 👍🏻

I will not be eating at this place again. The service was very unsatisfactory. I had to ask for cutlery on more than one occasion. I had to ask for glasses to pour our drinks in, which is shocking as the staff should keep an eye out for the absolute basics of waitressing. We asked for a sauce to go on the side of the steak. They forgot this and brought it after asking for it twice again and after we had finished our steak. the food was nothing special and definitely not worth the money. They also brought the food out as and when it was ready so my daughter finished eating by the time the rest of us got our food. The only thing I would recommend for this place is for the staff to under go some training.

Always good quality and consistency. All my orders were delivery. The chicken quality is one of the best anywhere. They use good white meat quality with good taste. Shush tawook chicken is the best among all chicken plates.

Food is great . nice place to have a proper lunch. My favorite is the chicken grill and shwarama.<br/>I have also tried biryani and its amazing. Their hospitality is great. The order time is also bearable.

We love breakfast, love trying different types of breakfast, from the corner Indian cafe to McDonald's to iHop. We just love breakfast food so stumbling across a little restaurant that serves all day breakfast was just perfect. Knowing grill and gateau's normal portion sizes their breakfast portions are very generous, too much for an average person to be honest. We ordered their chicken and eggs breakfast skillet. It comes with broccoli covered in a blanket of melted cheese topped with grilled chicken and eggs of your choice. The toast that comes along is thick cut and buttery 😍 and on the side are those crunchy hashbrowns(love potatoes!) All this for 33 Bucks!<br/><br/>The only drawback to the meal was that the skillet was extremely oily, more than needed when using a skillet. All in all an amazing breakfast, can't wait to try their pancakes.

In the beginning I didn't think it was that great. Then they changed the menu (and maybe the chef) and hoolllyyy did it do wonders for the restaurant or what! Had a craving for grilled meat and ordered Lamb sheekh Kabab and Lamb chops. The sheekh kabab was ok in taste, nothing great though. But the lamb chops were totally dry and burned. It had no taste and couldn't have even a piece of it. Totally disappointing experience.

This is my neighborhood spot.  Open late, cozy and with readily available wifi- winning!  Kashmiri mountain tea is excellent likewise the chais and paratha etc. Service is good and reliable.  They do best with Indo/Pak cuisines but the fries and hot chocolate are also quite tasty.  Shawarma was less impressive (according to my friend) likewise the garlic shrimp.  But in general, a very welcome  refuge for a nourishing cuppa tea or warm curry  with wifi on Sheikh Zayed Rd.

Went  for week day lunch with colleagues as its close to my office. We were greeted by courteous staff who made us feel comfortable. Though its on side of busy Sheikh Zayed Road there is not much of noise  and people can have food peacefully. Interiors was well done and very clean.<br/>We were served with some complimentary bread and we ordered for Fish Tikka and and Boti Chicken. Food was served quickly and well presented. All of us relished the meal thoroughly.<br/>I have heard much about their breakfast and will definitely try out shortly.

The Grill & Gâteau is right next to Crowne Plaza hotel on the ever-so busy Sheikh Zayed Road. Outdoor seating is available. The interiors are very classic. Our weekday lunch was very peaceful. The place reckons it serves all day breakfast. Though 'breakfast waffles' were unable at the time. Having a look at the menu, there is a variety of food. However, it would be great to add some sandwiches and wraps on the menu as there is hardly any options. My order was Chicken & Eggs. You get to choose the kind of eggs you want (Mine was sunny side up) with a choice of bread: white or brown. The order did take a lot of time though. Surprisingly it wasn't that hot when it arrived. On the other hand, It was quite a hearty and delicious portion. It had a good mix of egg, chicken, broccoli, potatoes and cheese. The overall experience was pleasant. The staff was very friendly and patient with our order.

If I could give this place any more stars i would. there arent very many places where you can  find halwa puri, pancakes, pulao, bbq and dynamite shrimp all at one spot! If I only had to rate their orange juice it would be a 4.5.. <br/><br/>Went there with my wife for their all day breakfast. Reached at abt 11 and we're seated. When we ordered our pancake and waffles the waitress took down our orders and the told us they don't have the breakfast coz the b'fast chef is on sick leave..<br/><br/>We left the place confused as we had called in that morning to aski till what time they served breakfast.. That was the only disappointment for me though she enjoyed it. It tasted more like a strawberry slush. That's what it should have been called and not a margarita because a virgin margarita is just lime and sugar minus the tequila and orange liqueur. But over all it was awesome. I wish to go back to try some of their chai and cakes. <br/><br/>Finally the staff . Very friendly and good service. Everyone spoke so politely.<br/><br/>The ambience . Very tidy and quite nicely spaced out.

Very hard to find a restaurant for lunch that is located close to your office, serves excellent food and that too at excellent rates! Also, the staff are extremely nice. Must try!!

You need to remove home delivery from your highlights if you can't deliver just across the road. I asked for a delivery 4.2kms away across the road and it was denied. After trying to explain the location for 10 minutes over the phone. No complaints, just don't say you deliver.

Visited Grill & Gateau for brunch and was amazed by the food. Not only was there a good variety, but everything tasted great as well. Usually in a buffet I always try a few items, but this was the first time I tried all the dishes. It was all so good. Also try the ice tea. Its the best I've ever had. The staff are all friendly and accomodating. One of them even went to the nearby supermarket to fetch chilis for one of my friend's who's a spice fanatic. Modern decor and comfortable seating. Although I've been coming to Grill and Gateau for many months now, today I made a reservation for Iftar with my family and decided to post their comments about the restaurant. <br/><br/>Location: This quaint and cosy place is in a prime location right next to crowne plaza on sheikh zayed road. Parking is plentiful at the back at all hours. <br/><br/>Menu: the cuisine is a mix of BBQ // Bakery // Breakfast (which is served all day) They also serve high tea buffet and Iftar buffets for Ramadan. All very affordable considering the location. <br/><br/>Service: All the staff are extremely nice and familiar with the menu. Azeem is alway happy to serve with a smile and remembers all my favorite orders. <br/><br/>Food quality: I've ordered almost everything on the menus at some point and enjoyed every bite. If ever there was something I felt was off at the time, the were happy to change my order or even tweak the recipe to suit me. Their pancakes are always amazing special the Belgian chocolate. I also love their leg of lamb and afghani rice. <br/><br/>Overall: At Iftar today, every single person in my family went home raving about the food. They were all very happy with the service, the food, the variety and the rustic ambience.

This place, honestly if I were to describe it I would have to make words up, but the closest I can get is extravagant. I had dinner over here a week ago but I forgot to review it as I was so tired and full of their delicious food. The environment you're placed in, inside the restaurant, is so warm and welcoming. The food I had there is definitely reaching all of my friend's ears. Certainly going back there and next time with my friends so they can enjoy the experience as well.

The first time I went to GnG was about two weeks ago and I've been coming back often ever since. Today I had a family Iftar with around 35people at only 55aed per head. If a reservation is made ahead of time they are happy to accommodate customised buffet items as well. Servers Azeem and Bina are my favourites as they are friendly an knowledgable. All cakes and bakery items are very affordable and high quality.

The Grill & Gateau has officially become a family favorite. The food is always on point and the staff friendly and welcoming. All the barbecue items and well made, especially the yogurt and herb chicken. My favorite drink is a blue colada, A must try for all customers. During ramadan they have an iftar buffet that changes every day at only 55 aed. I highly recommend this restaurant to any international BBQ and bakery fans.

The food is flavorful and the ambience inviting. The bakery has a grand selection of treats that satisfy ever taste bud. I'm very pleased with the overall feel of this restaurant. A refreshing food haven on SHK ZYD road.

The Grill & Gateau was a pleasant surprise. Heard from the other reviews that seating etc. was a problem during busy hours. Was in 2 minds about it but I am glad I decided to form my own opinion. We decided to go there on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was conveniently available in the Crowne Plaza parking lot at the rear. <br/><br/>Ambience was decent and friendly. The staff were all courteous and friendly. The food didn't let us down at all and the staff ensured we had a great time. <br/><br/>The kids loved the Belgian Chocolate pancakes. A decadent dish that requires an opinion from your cardiologist. But man was it good! Something you should try for sure. <br/><br/>The family grill gave us an opportunity to try all the grills available. The best bet is the lamb chops and the yoghurt chicken. The grilled prawns had the perfect marinade. The dessert choices will leave you wanting for more. Will have to definitely go back to try the other dishes.

Relaxing atmosphere.<br/>The buns they serve at the start melt in your mouth and are so simple still delicious.<br/>Their chicken tikka, seekh kebab and chicken shawarma are the best. <br/>Staff is so polite and courteous.<br/>Love ending the meal with Kashmiri tea, must try!

Have visited this joint a few times for breakfast.<br/><br/>The pros: it's cheap.<br/><br/>The food:<br/><br/>The Steak & Eggs breakfast - falls short. A couple of eggs and all potatoes and broccoli. I was asked how I'd like my steak (i.e. medium), which is funny because the "steak" was one 2cm by 2cm sized piece of meat buried in the entire dish. (no exaggeration). I couldn't be bothered complaining.<br/><br/>The Full English - reasonable. Nothing to write home about. Has everything. <br/><br/>The French Toast - basic, but nice and sweet.<br/><br/>The Coffees - milky, watery, average. But for 3AED each, you can try a few times.<br/><br/>The place itself is nice and clean. Staff are polite and provide great service.

Further to the kind words showered upon us by one of the servers here in G&G (Latvinia, was her name, if I remember correctly) to write my heart out on the experience I have with them, Please read below the tale of my latest disappointment: <br/><br/>My whole experience from the moment I sat there till I got out from the restaurant consisted of precisely 1 hour and 20 mins. I was forced to sit outside cause restaurant was full inside. It is unusually chilly and windy afternoon today (02.03.2016) and the cold-shoulder from the restaurant made it sitting there even more cold and aggravated. After waiting for sometime I had to go inside first to ask them that they serve food outside or not and second to convince them to take my order. What I understood from the settings is that they have 1 Male and 1 Female staff dedicated to take orders and 2 Females to serve (The time I entered, I didn't find anyone and I had to ask the person who was making sandwiches next to the place where the buffet dishes were stationed). <br/><br/>After showing gestures from outside and approx 10 mins a decent looking suited man came and gave us the menu cards. We again have to call him to record our order. The menu cards were left to be retrieved as he went after taking our order. Later due to the heavy wind they flew away. <br/>It was exactly after 40 mins when our food arrived and I must say it was beautifully presented. I really liked the presentation, as a reminiscent of Nayaab Handi, and I was hoping that the whole excruciating time we spent waiting for food would be compensated. Unfortunately the beauty of presentation couldn't be reflected into the food. We ordered:* Classic Chicken Wings* Chicken Tikka* Garlic Fish<br/><br/>Classic Chicken Wings were not the same looking dish that they have published in their menu. Anyways, it was little burnt to my liking. Sauce was okish. Overall an average experience.<br/><br/>Chicken Tikka was also mild on spice and absent on taste. It wasn't the one any restaurant can proudly own, or, at least shouldn't. <br/><br/>Garlic Fish was the biggest disappointment as it was really a bland, banal, and wishy-washy experience. Seriously, it was such an utter disappointment. <br/><br/>I was informed by the aforementioned lady that we require to order over the phone first and then come here, that's actually the solution she presented to avoid the delay one shall face here. I was amazed by her confidence though. <br/><br/>Dilatory and waste of time & money kind of place. Nothing special. Ho-hum!

I came across this restaurant when I was looking for some good deals on Groupon. I liked the deal that was being offered, so I searched for it on Zomato. After reading some good reviews about this restaurant, I decided to buy the voucher. <br/><br/>This place is not difficult to find as it is near Crowne Plaza Hotel. We went on a Friday for dinner, so thankfully, we found a parking easily too.<br/><br/>The ambiance of the restaurant is just lovely. I couldn't stop looking around and admiring the interiors of the restaurant. Also, our server was really sweet. I have never met someone as courteous, polite and cheerful as him. <br/><br/>Coming to the food, we ordered Yogurt & Herb Chicken, Chicken Shawarma and Afghani Rice.<br/><br/>The server brought complimentary Bread & Butter for us. The Bread was really soft and fresh and it served as a good starter.<br/><br/>Yogurt & Herb Chicken: I ordered this since I wanted to try out something different. It was served with Salad and two dips; garlic and mint. Eight pieces of chicken marinated in yogurt and spices were really Mouth-watering, succulent and delectable. What won my heart was the presentation. Instead of serving it on a regular plate, they served it on a grill. This was something I found very unique. The mint dip served was equally tasty.<br/><br/>Chicken Shawarma: My sister had the Shawarma which was served with French Fries and a Garlic Dip. The French Fries were thick cut and non-oily and went well with the garlic dip. But the Shawarma was average. The sauce in the Shawarma was not spread properly and was just present at the end of the sandwich. Although the chicken was good enough.<br/><br/>Afghani Rice: I am a big fan of Afghani Rice, so I ordered this instantly. The rice is a good quantity for one person. It was full of flavour and was definitely palatable. I enjoyed this rice with the Mint dip.<br/><br/>A wise man once said 'The pen is mightier than the sword', I say 'A kebab is mightier than an ab'. So don't think about your abs, just go have their kebabs. You can thank me later :)

Had the beef shawarma with classic chai. Service was excellent and the ambiance was terrific. Definitely going back there when I revisit Dubai. 10/10 would eat again.

I've eaten here once and it was absolutely delightful when I did. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Maybe I'm being biased because its my favorite food but their Classic Chicken Wings are to die for. Will definitely go back!

Totally impressed with the breakfast. Their portions are large and delicious. The staff are very friendly. The decor is very European with some very clever styling. Overall, they lived up to the hype. I'll be coming back more often. Cheers

Absolutely love this place and very conveniently located for me on sheikh zayed road being I live next to it . The g&g had an all day breakfast and a lot of great choices to chose from at very competitive prices. I had the steak and eggs and kofta balls which where delicious and a definite try for all . I think I just found my new local diner
