The food was amazing, gives a feeling of the real Vasai. The staffs are very friendly perfect Vasaikar. Will visit again soon. Would prefer Eastern Indian and Goans to visit this place.
Next time if i ever want to have Maharashtrian style sea food, this is the only restaurant will come in my mind. I tried 3 dish all of them were delicious. The ambiance was cosy and food was amazing thats the perfect combination any one seek in a restaurant. And not to forget the service was really good.
Second best part was ample parking space right in front of restaurant.

Best place to have the best food on a Friday night with family. Had ordered for chicken biryani with full of flavors and bombay style keema pav. Just loved the food and the staff and service. Will visit quite often and try other dishes too.

We were really excited to find this restaurant. We are die hard fans of seafood, especially Bombay duck, promfret & this style of food.
The overall look & ambience is excellent. The staff is very friendly, helpful & knowledgeable.
The bombil rawa fry is my favorite. The prawn roast was amazing, especially with the tandalcha bhakri. The chicken bhujing is also a great appetizer, very authentic.
The kolambi Batata curry was ok ok.
I would like to try out the other fish dishes like the Pomfret and surmai. But I feel the prices are on the higher side for the portion size
Vasai Local is a small little restaurant in Karama which specialises in authentic Maharashtrian (or Marathi) cuisine. Located next door to Lucknowee in the Wasl Quartz building behind Ramee Royal Hotel in Al Karama, its cheerful interior could have been designed by Ariel from Disney’s Little Mermaid – there are references to the sea everywhere – a reminder to those who enter that this is a seafood restaurant.
We had a fabulous experience last evening, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. The owner came over and spoke to us, explaining things about the food that we didn't understand. She was very hospitable. Thank you! Would highly recommend the prawn chilli, surmai fry, bakhri and the most amazing kokum drink!! Can't wait to go again:)
The owner's hospitality and love for her home recipes give Vasai Local the magic touch. The most authentic koli seafood - better than any other seafood restaurant even in Mumbai. Besides the seafood, the chef's special Bhatti ka murg, and the biryanis are not to be missed! The decor and cutlery compliments the food you eat.
This place serves Authentic maharashtrian cuisine. Their seafood is amazing with fresh ingredients.
The service is very good. The owners themselves visit every table and ensure that the customers are satisfied.
Their Bombil fry and prawns fry are a must try. Portion size is excellent.
Overall it is good value for money. I am definitely visiting again to try out the other items on their menu.

One of the best seafood restaurant in Karama! We had tandoori pomfret, Koli Tawa Pomfret and Chicken biryani! Amazing taste with balanced spices in fish and a unique flavor in biryani, made it one of the best places to have good food.
Loved the seafood specially the bombay duck fry. Simple food but really tasty. Would highly recommend.

If you know me you know me!! How much I love vada pav especially with green chilli, I don’t like much spicy food but chilli with vada pav is must for me! So recently I tried this vada pav @vasailocalrestaurant I must say it tastes so delicious that it reminded me of Bombay wala vada pav, I want to add that it was freshly made the spices and flavors were just perfect! I had kanda bhajiya alongside the vada pav and that too was so delicious, crispy and full of flavors.
Also I would mention that they have other snacks item you can hog in like frankies, moong dal bhajiya etc.
The best part is everything they serve is freshly made, a little wait for best is worth it right?? Visit them with you friends and chill out having their amazing snacks and don’t forget their cutting chai!! I m not a chai person but I had 2 cup of chai 🙈🙈 (it had the perfect taste of masala in it)! If you are anywhere near karama do try them!!

They are well known for their authentic seafood from Ravas fry, surmai fry, kolbi fry, sukkha bombil to their mains green king fish curry, sargyacha ambat, bomblache ambat, etc.. They are also serving non-valo dishes other than seafood which are aso worth trying..
Now that they have introduced Breakfast Menu & Snacks.. It’s like cherry on top.. Wide range of snaks and breakfast items which are so delicious and fresh... Available for Dine-in and Delivery both..
The decor is done so creatively that you will feel as if you are in a restaurant in Bombay.. They have those original fish nets hanging from the ceiling which gives that feel of sea shore, decorative artifacts on the walls related to seafood.. Nicely done graphics on the other hand which shows the Map of India —> Bombay —> Vasai... Yes Vasia is the place in Bombay from where the owner of the restaurant and their community belong and they wanted to bring that name abroad..

Vasai Local sure does have yummy east indian cuisine. While we waited for our food, they were kind to offer us complimentary fugiyas which were delicious. Their staff make you feel at home and are very genuine. They struck conversations with us which left us feeling like we were in our own home. So very kind! The food was great. The fish was as fresh as it could get and the masalas used in the curry and tawa prawns were oozing with flavour.
With such courteous staff and such brilliant food we will definitely keep coming back and also recommend this wonderful restaurant to our friends and family.

If you are based in Mumbai, you must be well aware of Vasai, one of the biggest fish town in India. @vasailocalrestaurant has bought the fish lover in all of us to try the exact fish dishes all the way from Vasai directly to our plate cooked in the very homestyle manner. They add no additives or artificial preservatives to their food as they believe in serving the food in the very local habitat as followed in Vasai city. We started off by trying some of their traditional drinks including the Sol Kadi, which i personally felt like a salty lassi which in fact was really refreshing. We were also served some homemade pickles in a jar to bite while waiting for our food. The appetizer included the bombil rava fry, a crispy hot bombil fish dipped and fried in rava along with some side salads. Moving on to the main course, We enjoyed some of the best sellers, the Pomfret and Prawns, both served with Tawa Fry as well as Koli style fry. Both were equally delicious and it really did the job of maintaining the spice level which is impressive, making the prawns my favorite among all here. If you’re a meat lover, you can also have their chicken platter served with variant tandoori style chicken dishes. The Bhakri, a handmade rice flour bread, dipped with their special king fish curry is a great meal to try here as well. Totally loved the ambiance as well as food here and i am definitely coming back to try their prawn dishes once more. .

f you are looking for some amazing East Indian Cuisine, this is the place to go . Been here last week for lunch . Started off with sol kadi which was the best , I must say this was the best ever sol kadi I have ever had in Dubai . We tried Fugiyas which were more like dumplings minus the sweet but it was yummy . We had couple of varieties of fish fry , Pomfret and Shrimps with Koli and Bharlela Masala , both were excellent . Rava Fry Bombyl was a relish every bite . We did have green king fish curry in coconut gravy with Bhakri which was simply amazing . Overall it was a perfect lunch . The food was flavorful, yet mild , all the seafood served were in fresh. The service was excellent . Really looking forward to go back here soon .
Very authentic maharashtrian sea food loved the Green fish curry it was just too good to be true.. prawns fry was also made to perfection , bombil fry was also good we ordered it twice. The only concern was the tandoori pomfret not done at all it was taste less and not marinated for long enough to be tandoor to give the taste. Over all great place to have sea food it’s must visit place for seafood lovers. I’m going back to try their crab roast.

The prawns were amazing!!! The masala on it was just delicious and the cook was perfect. Would definitely have it again.
We also had the fish thali which was great. The king fish fry in it was cooked to perfection. The prawn curry was spicy and amazing. It also came with a nice drink and one gulab jamun. A perfect meal.
We ordered 2 thalis...fish and chicken...both were very nice....was a little upset that fish thali had no refill of prawns n fish....atleast 2 rounds must be replenished...tandoori pomfret was great. Ample parking space and nice benches outside to sit n eat. Service of waiters were also good.

Visited this place on a weekday for dinner. Serving authentic seafood from the Vasai region of Mumbai, this place is a hidden gem and if you are a seafood lover you will definitely enjoy the food. We placed an order for the Vada Pav, Kanda Bhajiya, Sol Kadi, Kokum Sarbat, Bharlela Sarg (Stuffed Pomfret), Surmai Tava (King Fish Fried), Tandoori Prawns and Green Pomfret Curry. Pomfret and Surmai being my favorites of all time, the Bharlela Sarg, Surmai Tava, and Green Pomfret Curry did not disappoint at all. Super delicious and left me craving for more. Wash it all down with the Sol Kadi and you have a perfect meal. Can't wait to come back here for some more delicacies, I've got my eye on the Bombay Duck!
Been wanting to try them out for sometime but somehow I would land up at a time when it’s super crowded! But this Friday I headed early afternoon and got to indulge into some authentic kholi food! Flavorful, good presentation, extremely friendly staff (not at all annoying) and clean place! Honestly they have put in real good efforts and it shows! We visited the Vasai local yesterday for dinner and ordered for sea food.... Surprisingly as mentioned in most of the online reviews the fish was extremely fresh and the curries were very tasty, the staff was also very friendly and prompt.. As it was our wedding anniversary they took an extra effort to organise a piece of cake in order to celebrate the occasion... We were extremely happy and enjoyed the evening... The pricing was also moderate for the quality of food delivered.... Thank you.

Fish platter was amazing, very tasty and fresh fish, it was mouth watering. Rice Bhakri with Surmai Curry was too good.

We went to this restaurant little late yesterday, for the first time to explore local Vasai seafood taste. I must say I didn’t regret my decision. We had pomfret in local green curry & bhakri. Bhakri was perfect and curry was authentic local taste. Fish was fresh. I loved the solkadhi and found very authentic as well. I look forward to visit the restaurant to explore some Goan style curries. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

Vasai local is absolutely a must-go for sea food lovers. Amazing dining experience. We really enjoyed the cute authentic decor and the service was really good. The food has the authentic taste of Koli region and the heroes of the menu were definitely all the Bombil/ Bombay duck preparations.

Tucked away not too far from the main road, this restaurant manages to serve Mumbai on a platter.
Cutting chai with a whiff of ginger surely reminds you of the 'tapri wali chai' from back home.
Tried the moong pakodas and vada pav, two of the more well know snacks in Dubai, but few get it better than VaLo.
Kokem Sherbet here is bae. We ordered 8 glasses for a group of 4. Says something about it.
When you visit, make sure to check for the daily specials - they are a treat.
