Place is small and only a few customers can dine in and they make sure they adhere to the safety measures. Hand sanitizers are abound, the place looks busy with a lot of food delivery guys waiting outside. Everything they use is disposable - plate, cup and the soy sauce container are plastic- unlike in another branch we usually frequent they use glass/ceramic ware. Donna was friendly and attentive and gave good service. We had 3 orders of makis and because of the app and coins we collected, we only paid like maybe half of the total bill. Nice app and benefits. The size of the makis for the super California roll and sweet potato crunch is smaller. Overall it’s still good but the size of the makis was smaller.

Im a regular customer to sumo all the time in media city but because im living in sports city sometimes i visit your branch in motor city and i as there today and actually your waiter his name is Miguel is very weird i keep calling him like 3 or 4 times and he is not paying attention to me and even while he is taking my order he is talking to his college in the branch and not paying any attention to me like im talking to myself and after i order he informed me that order will take 25 min and when i ask why he told because first we need to take care of delivery orders and after we will prepare your order, you need to teach your stuff to respect customers while they are talking to them and if someone visit you in your house and spend effort to come to your branch you need to take care of him and his needs first before taking care of your delivery veryyyyyy bad service i don't recommend this branch at all �

I like because they have a good menu, fresh ingredients and delivery is not too fast but is ok! Price is ok and well.

It has fantastic sushi which makes sumo always as a best Japanese restaurant.Yeah it has an issue of ac but I hope they are going to fix it soon. Apart from that it's best always , I just love its sushi and my family too. Maintain this core value all the times . And again thanks to all of you for serving us in a fantastic way of hospitality .

I been in this restaurant.. I like very much the foor they serve specially tha cucumber crab salad. But the temperature in the branch wasn't not good. Hope the management take action immediately as they will lose ther6 valued customers.

My family with me visited in this branch, we like the view but please take action about the Temperature of the branch it' can affect to your image. Staff will suffer and they will get sick. Check your AC maintenance. We are hoping in our next visit it will be nice.

They don’t really follow the choices you make. I ordered 3 portions of crunchy philly and marked that I want them with fresh salmon. They were all done with smoked salmon. That taking place during Ramadan when you are having your first meal of the day is very unpleasant. Would not recommend.

It smells and looks like not fresh and taste different. I always order same items but this is first time the fish seems to be not fresh. Really disappointing.

If you guys wanted an extravagant meal with limited budget then you must try the sumo sushi special. The staffs are very helpful specially Melin she ask me to download the mobile app and I can get their most selling crunchy crazy for free so Im enjoying my ramen and sushi with a friendly budget. my first time to try their branch in Dubai and it was sooo amazing that I wanted to come back and bring my friends along! the staffs are so welcoming and helpful with the menu, they introduced me with their specials which is really great. It was good and great deal in your application in mobile, can't imagine i ordered only soup,water and i have free roll they called it crunchy crazy it's very tasty! I enjoyed it and definitely surprising experience. Also the ambiance and the staff's are very accommodating.  I surely recommend this to my friends.

We ordered Tomyum Soup ( a lot soup with 4 pcs shrimp, 4 slices mushroom, 3 pcs squid), Vegetable Ramen and Una. The Una is really tasty and would like to highly recommend. However we don’t like the Tomyum soup not the ramen. Maybe we should try some sushi next time. BTW the Una is 10 pcs in the ad, but 8 pcs only in reality.

They send 36 pieces of California selection filled with surimi only no salmon no tuna no shrimps. This is not acceptable.

I certainly believe I’m a foodie but I was never encouraged or tempted to try sushi so whenever someone suggested it for lunch/dinner I immediately dismissed the thought of even trying to think it was good & I was never keen to try it right away, specially when I was hungry af I always opted for a safer option of not trying something I was more sure to dislike than like. But recently I thought to myself am I really a foodie if I judge food before giving it a go? Hence when my friend chose @sumosushibento for lunch I challenged myself & went with it. Well by now, I had tried “raw” but smoked salmon & limed shrimps so I was kind of more open to accepting the taste as these two went actually pretty good for my palate. I had no idea what’s the best sushi to try so I left it on my friend who ordered two sushi platters; The Bangkok and The Neptune. Well the meal came out looking impressive & quite surprisingly for me, I couldn’t even sense the raw seafood smell which didn’t make me regret my decision. I was actually hungry so the portions looked pretty satisfying as well. I’m obviously not comfortable eating with chopsticks but I loved that @sumosushibento keep easy chopsticks readily available for people like me 😀<br/>So my first bite felt a bit weird as the slimy salmon touched my slimy tongue but instantly I could feel my tastebuds appreciating this new flavor. I’m not a big fan of either tuna or avocados or teriyaki sauce but all of this rolled up together as a (Bangkok) sushi consisting seared salmon & prawn tempura with my fav jalapenos really shimmered me with brilliance. I have heard certain sushi heads claim that the good stuff is “all about the rice”, indeed the freshness of the shi is the main element that makes this dish a winner. Neptune was an original sushi roll filled with tobiko, crabstick & tempura shrimp with mozzarella cheese & spicy mayo, I absolutely loved this one from the moment I saw it on the menu 😛<br/>Needless to say Sumo Sushi & Bento is an ideal place for you to have your first #sushi🍣 experience, you definitely won’t be disappointed. We had dinner here. The food is really nice. My personal favorite is the call bowl( taste amazing) and California roll. The dynamite shrimp was okay, wasn't really fresh. The drinks were very nice.

One of my favourite sushi restaurants when I want to order in for movie’s and sushi. The menu items are always really fresh and delectable. I am especially a fan of the sushi sandwich roll. Also the ramen is really nice. The chicken chasu is prepared in a traditional style. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to order sushi in wanting good value for money!

I can understand if you have offers in Ubereats or other places but don’t send food like you’re feeding some animal! Is this how you put the mayo over the rolls? If you’re not happy to serve customers because you’re doing the buy one get one free in Uber eats then don’t participate in such! We pay money to have food that is of high quality. I place a delivery order from motor city,delivery timing is very good 32 min ,food quality and temperature is good as well,the only issue is the ginger is not enough compare to what I order,otherwise all is good.

While on my search for a decent Jap place in Dubai, Sumo is always one of the top suggestions. Ordered the Phoenix Roll (tuna roll with crispy fish skin) and chicken katsu. The roll was good. I finished it right away however, the chicken katsu is a different story. The chicken was utterly greasy. Like straight from the oil to my rice. Apart from that, it was also very bland and dry. It tasted somewhat like those breaded chicken fillets you get from supermarkets. Some even taste better than this. I hope they do katsu well next time or maybe I wasnt just lucky that day.

If there is 0 star I will gladly put it for your delivery service 0 I got the order after 2 hours the agent from call center said the order on its way and it arrived after one hour from my call !!! I love 10 min far from your branch ! :/ ridiculous

Ordered delivery to home when we craved a quick snack. What we tried:<br/><br/>1) Samurai Roll (7/10) - liked the combination of prawn tempura roll with california topping. Delicious.<br/><br/>2) Tom Yum Soup (2/10) - waaay too much msg/chemical additives. And it was intensely salty.<br/><br/>3) Rainbow Roll (5.5/10) - rice was a bit mushy but the fish tasted fresh. Overall, good but not great.<br/><br/>4) Maguro Nigiri (5/10) - only my husband ate this. He says it was average, neither here nor there.<br/><br/>We’re willing to try their other fusion sushi rolls, and the sushi sandwich. The place is like those typical casual dinners. The food is excellent. The amount of fish in any of the maki or rolls is good not unlike other sushi joints. The price seems high but the portions are generous so there is value for money. But thats not the best part. The best part are the condiments its as fresh and tasty as if you are in Japan.

It’s the third time I order then cancel the order. They are saying on zumato order need 55 min then after ordering they will call you saying one hour and 45 min . If the restaurant is always busy on delivery should hire more delivery boys. Shameful

I've been ordering for a while from sumo. The food is great as usual however the delivery service was beyond bad ! I live 5minutes away from sumo and I received notification that my order was on it's way for 30minutes! I kept calling and was told everytime that the driver was on the way although he hadn't really left... I ordered raw food and if it was with the driver for 30minutes in this heat then it would be bad for the food... I honestly believe that our expectations should be well managed to ensure that the delivery service is good enough... I was very disappointed....

Average food at a scruffy restaurant. AC broken for last month, left restaurant smelling of food. Very disappointed, won't be returning, staff are not friendly.

Love the freshness of their food. Vibrant and delish! Delivery was okay. Had to wait an hour and so for delivery but it was worth the wait. We ordered Salmon Lovers Bento and their Ramen. Ramen was slightly cooled down after the delivery but the delicate taste was still amazing! All Cheers for the team.

I live 1.7km away from the restaurant and waited for 1hour and 40minutes for my food. And I what I ordered is just Sashimi, it is something they don’t have to cook at all. I go my food at 9:10PM and Zomato staff told me “I assume this is the peak hour.” The conversation with Zomato online staff is weird also, I ask where is my food. He asks me to mark received once I got my food. Ain’t I speaking English properly?! Zomato also told me “they call the restaurant but no response.” A minute later, I called, the restaurant responded, the staff told me the delay was because of the traffic. Excuse me? 1.7KM distance, the driver uses motor cycle, how do you manage to encounter a traffic?! And then the staff told me it was because the driver had to have Iftar, and then the manager called me saying the delay was caused by multiple orders. Is anyone telling me the truth?! I asked for no cutlery at all and I received 5 chopsticks. Attention to detail people! Everything is not right for this order. The manager called me later said they would try to compensate me for my next purchase, but I am not going to order Sumo anymore. It is a very disappointing experience.

Very close by to our place so visited a couple of times. Tried their rock and roll shrimp, was yum and spicy. Since i enjoy spicy i dint mind it. Also have tried their Salmon Lovers Bento and the tuna one was very nice. Specially the nigiris and the salad is very fresh. The rolls are spicy again. Very warm and friendly staff.

Their food is pretty alright not their customer service is the reason for this low rating. On a hot, summer Ramadan day I called their customer service number twice to confirm if they were open for dine in and both times they confirmed and said yes. However after driving to the location their store supervisor said the customer service is unaware that the restaurant is not open for dine in. The supervisor had zero empathy and said it was not her fault I was given incorrect Information. When I called the CS again they said sorry - I am still in the process of making a roll out of this sorry and eating it for lunch. Terrible, just terrible! What's the point of the CS number if they themselves dont know about anything? You had one job CS, one job... 😡

Decided to try the delivery of sushi on this place. Well made and tasty. That sushi are prepared well and presented good. Good price for the food purchased.

SUMO is one of my favorite sushi and Bento Restaurants in Dubai, I always visit the one in Media City but decided to visit the MotorCity branch on Wednesday. The Restaurant was full and the food was delicious as always! <br/>However, the service was very slow! It took the team more than 20minutes to serve Edamame and then another 15 for the salad. The rolls were not served together either. <br/>The reason for the late service of orders could be the big amount of delivery orders leaving the Restaurant. The whole team was busy with making, packing and giving the delivery drivers instructions that dine-in guests were not served in a timely manner. <br/>Also, please ensure that glasses, cutlery and plates are clean when used. The glass the team gave me to drink water in had greasy finger smudges. <br/>

One of the worst food experience ever. I ordered my meal at 7:16 and after several call finally got it at 8:45 that should have been an indicator for me to cancel but i was so hungry and could not wait for another hour before my next meal. The tuna roll was awful so dry and got something like a stone in the meal. The chicken noodle soup was so bad i can probably get a better one from a small time cafeteria. The noodles used tasted like a cheap quality instant noodle. As you can see from the pics it all went straight in the bin. Horrible never ever will i order from them again.

I always visit sumo and i like it! <br/>But somehow i can feel that the salmon sashimi taste is not strong like before! It taste light<br/>Couldn’t feel the taste of it actually !<br/>Will try it again in couple of weeks and see how it will be

It is a major disappointment that this restaurant has a very illogical policy when it comes to the entertainer. My friend and I both have the entertainer and they apparently only allow one person (one entertainer) to be used. It makes absolutely no sense. I mostly refrain from writing reviews when I have negative things to say about a restaurant but this was just too frustrating. I am a more than regular customer at sumo sushi however , it’s very unfortunate that a reputable restaurant like this is forbidding it’s customers from using their entertainer.

At my order to deliver at home The food was cold (gyozas). The sauce of the gyozas was open so there was sauce all over the place. Always takes too long to deliver. <br/>On the motorcity branch I must say the service had better days. Most of the staff looks like is making a favour on serving the food and not very nice... <br/>

I prefer the other outlets of sumo sushi compared to the one at motor city - somehow I have doubts about the freshness of their sushi 🍣 but will be happy to here from the managers about how they maintain the freshness and what measures are taken ?
