Being a regular customer at Thakkaram and a follower on FB made me see this EID promotion running here. Thanks Thakkaaram - തക്കാരം for the 3kg mutton biryani yesterday. Reminded me of the typical malabari biryani which is cooked at home. It was great value for money and saved us from the regular cooking at home. What makes the biryani different is the rice not being the regular basmati rice but jeerakashala which gives the taste and aroma of Malabar. Thank you guys and continue the great work.. smile emoticon

Thank god it’s close to my workplace. The breakfast and Lunch meals are reasonable and worth the money. Do visit for the kerala lunch meals spread.

One of the best dining experience. This South Indian restuarent mase our taste bud full of flavours. We started with a welcome drink which was made with berry and grapes. It’s so delicious ended up ordering two .
In appetiser we had spicy raw mango salad and Spanish grill paneer. I must highlight this dish which is made out of coconut milk and yoghurt sauce. Extremely delicious.
One of the must try. Kanthari fish curry was another masterpiece.
Samsher was really helpful in choosing each and every dish. Thanks to him.
Main course we had veg kanthari curry and dal fry with appam , madakku chappathi and porotta.
For dessert we had bread crumbs with icecream.

Away from the rush and Hustle Bustle of town, come to this cozy and very homely place for some of the best served food in town, especially seafood. The taste is one of the best you can get for whatever you order and that too for a very decent price Presentation of food is good and with ample free parking space right in front of the restaurant, this place is a Superhit.
We had the Spicy Raw Mango Salad, must say it was unique of its kind, it was spicy, sweet and tangy all at the same time. The Malabar Mutton Soup is the ultimate in any soups i have ever had, nicely flavoured with Curry Leaves.
The starter Kanthari Tawa Fish is a must on every table. This is Hamour marinated with mild spicy Thai and Kerala fusion. Very soft and generous portion, absolute melt in the mouth preparation. Thai Prawns starter is a fusion of Thai Herbs and Coconut marination. The texture, flavour, presentation everything was spot on. Junglee Chicken is served in style on a skewer with charcoal flames. The Chicken is very soft and Succulent. Very nicely prepared by the chef. All these starters are a must try.

Chinese dishes could do better in terms of flavour
I went there with my husband and one of our friend for the lunch. The restaurant was packed with office crowd and most of the customers were seen having a set meal.
As soon as we settled the waiter offered us the spicy laban. We decided to order a veg barik set ( myself), veg Hakka noodles( husband) and chicken biryani ( friend)
The veg barik set meal was authentic and unlimited. Served on banana leaf just added the traditional touch to it and also enhanced the flavour. I loved the sambar and the beet root sabji. I love malbari cuisine and whenever gets chance I prefer to eat their set meals.
The chicken biryani was good after requesting they served extra masala 😊
The veg Hakka noodles were wrong choice at wrong place but was not that bad.
Definitely we will visit again to explore their menu.
Food was so tasty, clean and prepared with lot of care.. We were so delighted except for the sight of live fishes crammed into a small aquarium and for the car parking, everything was super good. Thank you guys.
I went there for the first time for the onam sadhya festival though m not malbaari or malyaali but still I love South Indian food so I tried their onam thaali which they served on the banana leaf I love the way they serve the food. Overall it was a nice experience.
Thakkaram is the authentic provider of South Indian cuisine in Dubai.They got traditional food which has centuries old roots as well as fusion food which you will find mouth watering.
I would recommend you to try their starters especially kanthari tawa fish and chicken junglee
Tried the appam and mango fish curry. Was excellent. The kallappam and chicken curry was also very good. Good service and quality food at affordable price and ample paid parking space. The samavar chai was great as well.
Very nice food.. enjoyed their kanji for lunch.. nicely customized and tasty as well.. their lunch meals are also reasonably well.. well mannered staffs.. nice atmosphere.. overall we enjoyed well.. parking of the car outside the restaurant is an issue

Normally I dint do reviews. But thought if you are a fan of Kerala and doesn’t want to get disappointed. Then is is very good place and food to try. All the staff were very friendly and kind.

Best Malabar restaurant in Garhoud. Excellent service and friendly staff keep their head ups. I have been there for so many times in afternoons for their meals. Saturday they have specials Sadhya, not complete sadhya packs. This one which include fish tawa fry as well in small portion.They never step back from their quality and the presentation.

A nice little restaurant located in garhoud opposite Emirates aviation college. Prices are very reasonable and the food is just yummm and not to forget the finger licking fish fry that u can devour. They come with a tray of fried fishes and u get to choose your pick. Went with work colleagues for an sumptuous afternoon lunch and ordered for a fish and veg thali. Price for thali is very reasonable and is very delicious. The king fish curry in the cheti(mud vessel) was yummm too. Must try the thali and fish fry( the fish is priced separately)
The service is very fast and excellent with a trained staff..the food is good..i suggest for south Indian...i ordered dosa..it was good..and comes with sambhar and chutney..
The food is really good and the folks here service their customers are well. If you are planning to explore delicacies in kerala cuisine, this is where you got to be at. All in all a very welcoming place.
We went there today for iftar buffet.....was bit crowded..staff was very friendly....overall it was very good...nice snacks and main course was also variety and tasty..loved it I have been there 3 weeks ago...really loved the kanthari tawa fry hamour....

Late time search for ifthar ended up here with ifthar buffet.. it was little crowded. Need pre-booking for ifthar, as one table was left free. We took the table to start with ifthar with some good snacks and juices, juices were not that good but snacks were nice. After Namaz gone to Main coarse food buffet with all varieties of food including beaf, chicken, vegetables, biryani, porota, many more dishes. Ending with desserts, Puddings.. I suggest for South Indians to have great ifthaar here..
Chicken Biryani. This is one meal that's not going to disappoint you at all. You don't need to order dessert, there is a sweet dish (moong dal) along with the biryani.

Being around in the same locale as my office, this is a decent joint for food ordering. Recently I had ordered a masala dosa - it was quite delicious. It came with sambar and chutney. All this for barely 7Dhs! Completely value for money. It remains a common food ordering place for everyone at work.

Had a wonderfull lunch from thakaram, starter kandhari fish tawa was fantastic item in their menu which made me order it again. Sadhya was good enough to satisfy your craving for kerala food. Also had the dessert milk fry which gave it a perfect sweet ending. The staff are attentive and courteous which i could give a 5 * rating.
Thakaram has the best fish starter we have tasted in our entire food Journey!! Could feel the fish melt in our mouth and the flavours tingling up our appetite.

Thakkaaram is good option for Kerala foods specially Malabar Foods. We had Arabian biriyani and bamboo biriyani also some starters fish kanthari and kadathanadan kozhi porichathu.

Thakkaram is a very good option for kerala food especially non veg...from the starter chukku kappi to last desert everything is good..will get parking easily... Very good service from staffs.. Especially nithin...aaromal they are very good in their service...

A good South Indian option, really loved their starters kanthari fish is yummy, a big salute for management, don't forget to try neypathal and paalakkaran beef. Finally banana crepe....wow ..
Always reliable, an everyday option with a new dish everyday, try their starters Thai lemon pepper grill, chicken green chili , and their small bites with filter coffee. Go ahead and give a shout out to our man shamseer for a laugh or two

A GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE
I was looking forward to trying out this restaurant and wasn't disappointed. Well worth a visit to try traditional South Indian food. The staffs were very friendly and welcoming, the food was excellent. I had Appam with King fish mango curry and it was really tasty, nice and hot, perfect for a winter night. The appam was crisp, flavorful and it worked together beautifully with the curry that's been served - seriously you have to try it! Enjoyed the dessert provided by the friendly staffs, they are very attentive and helpful. All in all it's a great place with good food, efficient staffs and great value for money. I would certainly recommend the place and would aim to return.

The lunch menu is awesome for you lovers of the Keralite fish preparation. Kingfish fry is just awesome and the red fish curry is amongst the best.
The motta set comes on a banana leaf.. A very nice traditional touch.

Thakkaaram Dubai biriyani is one such biriyani which has made full justice to the taste buds. Been to Thakkaaram so many times as it's very close to where I live. The price is very reasonable and food is tasty. I like breakfast there especially there ghee roast and tea. Recently they had this traditional kerala cuisine which u find in local toddy shops and dishes where great and so delicious. I always feel welcome there and the customer service is great also especially from Aromal and Shamsheer. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
I'm here for the 6th time, The Food Is Soo perfect that you'll feel like home. And over all the service they provide is world class Especially Mr. Shamseer and Mr. Shibu.

Went there for their recent shaap fest for a weekend dinner .. Parking was easy to get as we reached early .
The restaurant had changed their interiors and felt more spacious during this visit .
We were welcomed with drinks similar to toddy bottle it was a super melon drink .
We ordered their kanthari fish tawa as starters and repeated this order as it was so fresh and melts in the mouth kind . Highly recommended .
For the main course we had kappa; kallapam ; kakkayirachi ; beef curry and fish chatty curry .
The kakkayirachi didnt taste so great for me . But all the other dishes were amazing .
As dessert i have tried their fried icecream . It was also very different ... Recommended to try ....Altogether we had a wonderful experience .

It was late night choice to go here near Tennis stadium, wasn’t disappointed! The staff over here is very welcoming & to detail to the menu! Welcomed as with guava & lemon mix drink. also try mango pickle . As per their suggestion, we ordered their special dish - grilled Arabic fish Jash with spicy masala gravy over it ! It was delicious with wheat paratta! Good ambience , great interiors for a decent restaurant & maintain the cleanliness!

Not being a #dessert person, was dreading tryin this out - was pleasantly surprised with this weird combo!😆 Do check this innovative one for sure!

Kozhi Mushmam and Ramanthali beef fry is highly recommended main dishes.
Just got done with the Breakfast Buffet here and I couldn't resist giving them a pat on the back for the idea and the Taste. If you want to live by that good old saying 'Eat Breakfast Like a King' , this is the place to be. With a full heart and a content Breakfast belly I can now get into full swing at work and cruise through the day. Thank you Thakkaaram, you made my day.
