(التعليق الأصلي) We went for the evening brunch to this South Indian restaurant. I called them in the morning and asked if I needed to reserve a table. Now I understand that I was speaking with the owner of the restaurant who said that there was no need for reserving a table. We arrived around 19:30, only one couple was there, the rest of the restaurant was empty, some tables were reserved. The one which I liked was reserved as well and I asked a waiter if we can sit there, they kindly removed the tag and then something weird happened. Owner of the restaurant approached me and said that those seats are for 6 persons. I looked at my family (3 of us) and the table and I understood that only 4 people can sit at one table with comfort and enjoy a meal. An owner said if we can sit at the table nearby the window, I said no, I like this table, and considering the fact the restaurant was empty and the table is not for 6 persons I was 101% right. I don’t know how this Indian guy is thinking. He doesn’t know what the customer satisfaction is and what is a real and proper approach to the customers. So I wanted to give to this restaurant 1, but i will make an exception because of the good staff (waiters) and food a little bit. Food was okey but not the best South Indian food I tasted. The mix of the spices were good but some things I couldn’t find perfectly done, I cannot compare this vegetarian dishes to the ones I’ve tried in Delhi and Mumbai. They lack some “deliciousness”. I gave a free hint to the owner but I’m sure he will not appreciate it as he was not happy with me when we were leaving. All in all we had mixed feelings when we left the restaurant, imho right approach to the customers is most important thing which many Asians will never unfortunately understand. Life consists not only from the glory moments of earning money and buying stuff, you have to understand that you are the person who needs to approach to the people, offer a good conversation, tell to a new customers regarding your products and services, be a nice guy, so we can come back again and again. What did you do? You were almost arguing with me in an empty restaurant where we need to sit.

(التعليق الأصلي) Small and cosy place tucked in Karama GPO side. Food is tasty and not oily. Owners interact with the customers explains the south north cuisine.

(التعليق الأصلي) The food and choices are simple and to the point. No over burgeoning menus. Me and my mom tried the dosa, dhokla along with curry/chapati meal. The food was not only delightful but very light on the stomach (unlike all other restaurants) and the best part was it tasted like home food (curry/chapati) which is very rare to pull off. Kudos!

(التعليق الأصلي) I love this place. The blend of Gujarati and South Indian food is a very unique combination one must definitely experience. Although, I didn’t have dosas and dhokhlas here, the thali served for lunch was excellent. I’d definitely want to go back to this place again. A definite recommend.

(التعليق الأصلي) Are you looking for home style south indian food..? this is place to go... Nowhere else in Dubai I've experienced such a pleasant food... We live in Sharjah and travel all the way just to eat here.. enough said I guess ;) recently we had south indian meals and fell in love with the pineapple rasam and potato curry... It's just too good... We also love the Gujarati thali for breakfast...

Concept of buffet with South Indian dishes is nice. But the restaurant is too small. If you go in a bigger group (6-8 person) then you have to seat separately as its difficult to accommodate all in one table due to space restrictions. It becomes very noisy in peak hours. So this place is good for quick bites but not for peaceful dinner/ lunch.

We went there for Friday buffet. Service was so haphazard. I have never seen any buffet counter like this in my entire food journey. Containers were almost wiped off no refills. We left the place without trying anything for first time.

Such a disappointment! I ordered so much food but I can't say one thing that was decent, forget nice. Poha felt like thermocol, while Pongal felt like glue paste. The fafda was so thick that i could taste its batter. And I was scared the dhokla will fly into someone's face if I try to cut it. The only thing I could manage to eat was the dosa, but only after picking out all the chunks of carrot in it. Who puts carrots in a masala dosa!
And the delivery was so late that poor zomato had give me zomato credits twice to not lose patience.
I never thought my first review would be out of frustration of throwing out more food than I could eat.
Atique
I ordered the dosa and dhokla special firstly the dosa which I received was rava masala dosa with a price of special dosa and dhokla nothing unique. Secondly the dosa when I received it was warm and look like a mashed potato the dosa was not crispy and a bit salty. Along with the dosa I ordered masala chai it’s the same while delivering it already become cold iced tea. Dear Dosa and dhokla firstly you need to change your take away packaging make it a bit high standard and try to provide amazing food experience.
TheGoodGlutton
No frills but authentic food.

It looks like a combination of Madras meets Mumbai. The interiors are basic but the filter coffee didn't disappoint.

If you are in or from Karama its possibly a good place to have coffee and snacks.

Visited today Thursday night for buffet and none of item had at least a average quality, green chutney had foul test, Samber was test less, dhokla was not at all good. It’s completely waste

Khamam Dhola is awesome. Tepla is very delicious and fulling. Gujarathi full meals is worth for money and taste really good.
And yes south indian dishes are also equally good except the dambhar tastes different, But its good in its way.

We went at around 9:30pm on a Thursday night and were greeted by unfriendly staff who could not understand what we were asking (even though we were talking in Hindi).

They couldn't give us any recommendations on the food when asked and when we finally ordered, the service and food quality and quantity were below average.

For a place named dosa and dokhla, the variety of dosa available was pretty average.

We took the eat all you can menu for 26Dhs and ordered Paneer Chilly Dosa. The service was way too slow considering there was no one else at that time. The dosa had the masala quantity lesser than the normal South Indian cafeterias.

Overall I would rather go to my neighborhood South Indian cafe than this place to enjoy Dosa.

Sk
This my regular place to have a tummy full breakfast.this mini combo comes with dosa vada 6 pcs mini idli , pongal and even coffee .so its complete breakfast .taste wise is good.....

Ambiance was nice. Staff was nice. I try there Gujarati thali it’s fabulous and delicious. I really like to visit again. I would like to try South Indian thali. And Gujarati style dhokla with appam. Gujarati thali I really like khichadi it’s outstanding and pure desi style. I have one suggestion khichadi give with desi ghee it’s more tasty and delicious

Going by the name I was expecting varieties of dhokla but they have just 3 kinds of dhokla.
Visited on Wednesday evening and it was empty.
What we ordered:
Dahi puri : Not at all recommend. It was all dahi and no flavour of any Chutney.

Uttapam : did not look like one and dint taste any good.

Dosa : Very average not crispy the way we asked for

Idly Wada : only dish we liked was the Wada which was hot and crisp

Sambar was more of a dal. Chutney were still ok.
We felt the Uttapam batter was not fresh.

Even though there was no crowd service was very slow.

Very disappointed with the taste.
I agree with some of the reviews here, i.e in terms of the lack of a welcoming smile and about the 'Reserved Table'. We couldn't stay back to taste the food at this restaurant, since we got put off by some factors, including the above.
When people are waiting outside, a table with a 'Reserved' board doesn't look good, saying that that's only for a group of 6 or more! If customer satisfaction would have been handled carefully , the two of us might have come back with our entire family of 6.
If these factors are taken care of, I am sure people would not go back not wanting to come back as well!

Went there to have quick breakfast.

Ordered masala Dosa, aloo Paratha and mini idli.

Taste was good, Friendly staff

Great location with ample parking space in front

Will came back soon

I tried this place for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the South Indian and Gujarati breakfast combo. I found their idli, vada and dosa to be way better that the other famous South Indian restaurants in karama! The idlis were so soft that they literally melted in the mouth and the vadas were very crisp (a little bit oily tho).

We also ordered the puri bhaji and you should try it with the red potato bhaji (Gujarati style) as it is something different than the usual yellow potato bhaji and very tasty too!

The upma, saboo dana, dhokla were all very fresh. In the combo for dessert, we were served gajar ka halwa which was very very sweet and very red too (not sure if it was food colour)?!

Overall a pleasant experience with good food and price too!
Aditi Jaju
A place to go for everyday meals instead of using tiffin service. The food okay and price is decent. Not a fancy place but a big menu. The thali options are good and different days have different menus.
Sai Kishan Gopinath
Sambhar Quality Needs to be improved . A very different taste and not matching the taste buds comparing to the standard South Indian sambhar !
Rohit Abraham
A very nice place to have Dosas, Idlis and South Indian Thalis. Just love their Sambar. Poori Bhaji is something you should definitely try. The owners are usually there and greets you with a smile always.
Ritika Nagar
Dosa and dhokla offered a variety of both . Ragi dosa and Idly fry are must try. A hygienic place , quick service and friendly staff are the qualities .
Sudeeksha Raghavan
The food was not good at all. I ordered from here in the first place seeing its ratings but when I ate it, it was not upto the mark. There is scope for more improvement in terms of taste. The ratings do not justify its taste.

Visited this restaurant few days back. Decent ambience mostly in blues and good homely tasting food.
We had tried their sambhar vada, medu vada and cheese dosa. They also serve best filter coffee. All the dishes eere good especially the cheese dosa. Service was quick. Restaurant was not crowded when we hd visited. Reasonably priced.

This is a very cozy and nice place with ample parking. The ghee roast dosa, idly vada mix and filter coffee is out of this world. At least we had excellent experience and I dont know about other comments here.
The staff is very courteous and the owner herself taking care of each and every guest.

Going to visit again soon.

Visited this place early morning for breakfast , ordered for Plain Dosa , Rava Dosa & Khaman Dhokla , all of them were freshly prepared and served to me within 10 mins of time . Plain Dosa was served cold , Rava Dosa and Dhokla was served hot and tasted quiet good . Ambience wise place is below average and staff people were decent . Lastly coming to pricing wise it costed me Dhs 25/- only for 2 persons which is pocket friendly .

I had been to Dosa & Dhokla twice with family, both the times had a bit off experience.

They do not have many dishes to serve as they show it in their menu, the overall food was alright.

I had their Gujarati Thali as I’m a fan of thalis and being a Gujarati I wanted to know if they’re actually serving proper authentic gujarati food. Umm, nope! They do not, the gujarati food is no where near to it being authentic.

Let’s get talking about the Thali I had.

Started of with complimentary plate of 1 sabudana vada which was a little chewy and tasted alright. White dhokla these tasted really good, just the way I like mine. Khaman Dhokla (yellow dhokla) very flaky, dint really like it.

Mains - the thali had 1 dal, 3 sabzi, 1 dessert and puranpoli. Roti is unlimited and papad. I really liked the chana and the paneer sabzi, both had great flavours and tasted really good, the undhiyu (mix gujarati sabzi) was below average, dint like it at all. They serve one of the best Puran Puri, really loved so so good and would go back only for their puranpuri.

The second time when I had I visited them, the thali was very mediocre the sabzis dint taste good, dint like it the 2nd time at all.

Overall - the food was alright, the service is good and the staff is pretty friendly. My parents also dint really like what they had ordered. Not sure if I would visit them again.

Calm and peaceful location. Great South Indian food. Dhokla was a first time try and was great. Paper Roast Masala Dosa and Ghee Roast are a must try.
Nilesh Patel
Ordered their plain or sada dosa which was good along with the sambhar which was really great.. wasnt really impressed with the coconut chutney thou. Dhoklas are ok but the best dish was the curd rice which has those little sliced chillies giving it a different spice to it

The name attracted us initially and was referred by a friend. Need google assistance to reach there as the area has several one way roads and it's a maze at times but no difficulty in locating.

We ordered the regular dhoklas and dosa (mysore dosa) and podi idly with filter coffee (attractive brass tumbler and davara set). Comparing with the several south Indian Karama restaurants the taste was average/good. However what could certainly improve is the service. It is not bad though but an early morning smile on the faces makes a lot of difference. When the Dhokla was served (we were three of us) we had to ask for 3 plates and cutlery almost 3 times before all.of us got our plates. This could be due to the focus on home deliveries these days that restaurant guests take a second priority. Also the service staff looked relatively new to their jobs so it could be experience.

The place is family friendly and neat. I also read in one of the review that they have stopped using food colors. However the chilly paneer dosa that we ordered certainly looked as if colors have been added to a small extent. If they are not colors the chilly powder is not of good quality as it left colors in your finger and you can clearly differentiate the color when you wipe them with a paper tissue and notice the color. In summary the ingredients did not just did not give us comfort and this is also based on the tatse.

Dosa chutney was the regular chutney, but having heard the details of this restaurant we expected some home cooked taste which was missing. Adding garlic chutney and gun powder wi th sesame oil for Idly/Dosa could certainly bring in more visitors.

Loved their brass coffee set and reminds you of those days when this was a common sight in restaurants back home in south India. Filter coffee was not hot enough to enjoy though.

Overall, another average breakfast place and will certainly visit a couple of more times to taste their rest of their menu but what will make you go again and again is a smiling service oriented faces which we hope to see next time around!

I tried there
Limited Gujarati Thali and the
Hot N Sour Soup, it was a disappointment the Puri was the size of a five-year-old child hand, the first SABZI was so oily that it spilt out of the container. I think it was Turai (Ridge Gourd). The second Photo SABZI was ok. And finally, the Hot N Sour Soup was horrifying, it was Orange in colour because it was flooded with oil and it had only two vegetable Cabbage and Onion, it was the worst Hot N Sour Soup I ever had in my life...they should stick to Dosa & Dhokla only. The food was so bad that I couldn't eat it and was forced to dispose of it.
The Taste Of Good
One Saturday night, we want to have a nice and reasonably priced dinner to end our weekend with a smile and start the week with a huppy tummy. Dosa seem to be the food my tummy wants, Zomato suggested many restaurants which we already tried except for Dosa & Dhokla.

We ordered their weekend specials.

Adam Avial – lentil dosa with 2, bhaji. Dosa has curry leaves, green chilli. A different take on dosa which is healthier and has a pancake texture. Bhaji with drumsticks is better, although it tastes and look similar to me, but the drumstick added more flavor to the bhaji.

Chili Paneer Dosa- Manchurian paneer inside a dosa. An amazing fusion of Indo-Chinese and South Indian dish. The paneer is not as chili as expected. It was just right to my taste. When dipped in the chutney, it added more flavor which improves the dish even more.

Both dosas are special dosa of the day. AdamAvial for AED10.50 IS reasonably priced. Chili Paneer for AED 20.00 is a little bit steep if you will take into consideration the ambiance and the food presentation.

My rating is 3/5

After my workout wanted to have something to quench my thirst so thought of stopping by @dosaanddhokladxb to try their signature Dosa n Dhokla lassi . It was a combination of fruits and nuts with curd blended to a fine lassi ( perfect for this summer ). And yes It was made sugar free as per my request👌👌. Very reasonably priced with good service . Must try !
VeggieCow
There is something familiar about Dosa & Dhokla. It reminds VeggieCow of decades ago when dining out was easy and fuss free. Staying true to its ethos we chose a mix of South Indian and Gujarati dishes. The theplas, onion tomato uttapam were highly commendable. Surprisingly they didn’t have idlis, but it only gives us a reason to return. Their dhoklas are above average but Cow has had better in Dubai. The cheese dosa was a pleasant surprise as it wasn’t dripping in gooey melted cheese and had a healthy sprinkle of fromage. Their sambar does need to raise its game although overall Cow would rate them very highly on the ‘food cooked in a home style’ scale.

Loved the authentic taste and personal service ! Owner couple managing personally! She took time explained to us all the variety! Clean vessels , great hygiene , simple ambience , pocket friendly. Filter coffee was awesome. Must visit !

Cozy place coupled with nice food. Quick service is appreciated. The menu can be a bit more interesting. Good basic fusion of south with north India. Overall value for money 😃👍🏻

After long review on the place, had chance today to go to this tweaky and cozy restaurant.the ambience is nice .the color of blue in the restaurant gives u a warm feeling.!we order a south indian combo set, dhokla and mini idilis.sambar, chutney both lacked salt.but food was fresh.the idli was supper soft.service was quiet nice rather than bumping all the food on the table.the waiter always enquired when and how we wanted food.i liked that. Wil definitely go back there again to explore the food. The quantity was good and pocket friendly as well..

Dosa Not that good only dhokla was little ok

We visited the place on Thursday for unlimited buffet option. Food taste was ok and not too great. It says dosa and dhokla.. Yes there was variety of Dosa but no variety of Dhokla was found.. Being a gujju my expectation was high for dhokla.. but frankly i didn't enjoy them at all. But the price is decent.

Another vegetarian place to have good breakfast. I have ordered breakfast from them several times it was reasonable. The first order i placed was south indian combo was amazing. Same thing i ordered again later but it was not up to the same quality and taste. But their vada was very good fresh and crispy. quantity was good enough for one person and delivery time was around 30 mins.
VeggieBuji
The ambience is simple. First thing that we noticed was that the utensils were spotless clean and shiny. It was impressive. Washroom was neatly maintained.
Theplas were nice and soft. They were however served with only pickle where as in other places they serve it with raita, atleast with beaten curd garnished with some chaat masala. But here we had to ask for curd which they readily served for free. 👍
Chapathis were okay. Were sukha. Not topped with ghee, oil or butter.
Paneer 65 was made with semi gravy as per our request. It tasted fine. However it left colour on our fingers so clearly they have used food colour generously.
Aam ras quantity and taste was good, they give it in Bowl or glass as per your choice.
Staff were polite. Service was prompt.
Price- pocket friendly.
I loved the servings. I have always ordered online from this place and they have never disappointed me. Be it Dhokla or Southindian meal, the taste is good and fresh

Went here for a cup of chai. It was not great. The service was bad because they expected us to order something more. Had gone here for a evening before a food tasting so we didn't want to. But yeah could have been a better experience.
Bindu Sadish
Very very tasty food. Tried their Dosa , South Indian Thali and North Indian Thali and was just amazing.
Good quantity for the price ,no unwanted oil or masala and tastes like homely food.
A must try restaurant. Located near Karama post office.

Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a very long time. Parking is easy. Welcome by the lady managing the place is good. The person managing the cash can try to be a little more welcoming and pleasant. Service is good. Food is homely and nice and wholesome. However it also lacks standardisation like most home food. Tea and filter coffee are both good and must try. Overall its value for money.

dont see whats so great about this place, their prices are just not like the others serving same type and quality of food. Also the tea and coffee need some improvement as again we do have better options in the same line.

One of the best place to have south indian Dishes. I used to order via spoonfed when i stayed in JLT. Their traditional homely food is their trademark. We liked their dosa and South Indian meals. Now that we moved to al karama we would be their regular customer.

Yummy soft Khaman dhokla 🤤

Updated: I think a restaurant’s review is even based on consistency of its taste. Ordered it for the second time and tasted ok. Wasn’t as happy as the first time.

As the name suggests the restaurant is known for its South Indian and Gujarati Cuisine. The decor and appearance of the restaurant is quite average and there nothing fancy about it. However, i was pleasantly surprise by the quality of food and service by the staff. The owner/representative was personally checking with each guest about the quality of food and ensuring that everyone is comfortable and enjoying their meals. Overall a very good experience.

I think I found a new Indian breakfast weekend place. The sambar is delicious and both dosas so far (paper, onion rava) have been on point. Their vadas are great. Fast delivery too. Your stomach will not be disappointed.

We wanted to try this restaurant for quite some time, and got a chance today. The place itself is conveniently located. Nice reception by the lady who manages the restaurant. Food was good and the filter coffee excellent.

We tried the aloo paratha and a plate of chapati with subzi and salad. The subzi was kofta, which was a little spicy, however, the aloo paratha was good and fresh. The rotis also fresh and soft.

The staff were polite and courteous, and the place itself was very clean and well maintained. Ambience was calm and quiet.

Will surely visit again.

Visited this place on a weekday with family
Tried gobi 65 , Dhokla , Masala Dosa and Gujarati thali
Food was decent but not too great
Homely food

Can improve on lighting and interiors

Probably the best Dosa I had in Dubai. Value for money. Friendly staff. I strongly recommend people to try their Ghee Roast. The chutneys are prepared fresh.

Came across this place on Zomato and the name sounded interesting so we thought why not. We went on Thursday for the unlimited buffet, however there weren't many options. There were only 2 types of dhoklas and both seemed a little bland. We also had the Schezwan Dosa which was good and the Rava Dosa which again was just ok. The ambiance is pretty simple with limited seating space so get there early on a weekend. Overall the restaurant is pretty average but the service is quick and also friendly staff so thumbs up for that. Grason Sequeira

🤗When North meets South🤗
.
.
So my friend suggested me this place and she said that we had to try the food here. So when I met her, I made it a Point to try this place
.
Here goes my review
.
AMBIENCE (3 /5)- there is nothing wow that I can say about the interiors here. Loved the hospitality though
.
FOOD (4/5)- Since it was almost 12 pm we I reached there, the owner recommended that we try the thali. So I went for the Mini Gujrati thali that consists of 3 chappatis, 2 curries, dal, I pot rice, papadam and drink. All this for just 15 dhs! 😁😁
Seriously that's such a wow deal and I couldn't complete the whole thing. The curries I had were soya curry and bhindi masala. Food was good.
I also tried their dhoklas too and it was so yummy. A must try I should day
.
COST (5/5)- Food is very cheap and the thali costed only 15 dhs. Also I loved their hospitality. 😍
.
This place is must try for all the dhoklas and dosa lovers
.
#food #dubai #mydubai #zomato #zomatouae #yum #dosa #dokhla #dubaifood #dubaifoodie

We had been on a weekend for breakfast. We had tried Masala dosa, rawa dosa, ghee roast and podi dosa. Dosas were nice and crispy, it was served with chutney and sambhar.

We were cruising along the Karama area (the new hub of emerging restaurants) and lo and behold we see a blue box at the end “Dosa & Dokhla”, and there I made up my mind already as to where I’d have my pre-dinner (you know the little meal you have before the actual dinner 😛 )

Very simple place. We opted for Gujarati Thali. Not very expensive. But food was like home made. Undhiyu was very good. Dhokla varieties were perfect.

This restaurant is in the heart of dubai, karama.location is so good .lot of parking place nearby.outlet is small , there will be seating capacity of nearly 20..ambiance is good.started recently, they have weekly offers for dosa & Dokla..we visted , had dosas and dhoklas..i like mysore masala dosa and podi dosa, from dhoklas i tried paneer and idly, tomato uttappam is good..plain dosa and masala uttappam is not good in taste. Service is too good.prices are economical.

Had lunch this Friday with family here and we were served with the Weekend special Thali with some Dhokla and Masala vada for starters. The main course was the south Indian thali with rice, sambhar etc...etc.
Firstly the taste i should admit after finishing our lunch it was not heavy on our stomach and felt ok for a change.
Now the taste & the quantity leave a lot to be desired.
I sincerely feel there's a lot of room for improvement in the taste of Sambhar, rasam and the vegetable sections, as I have had tasty south Indian thali here in Dubai much much more than this.
Now when I was told it was unlimited and was charged Dhs.23 for the thali,i felt the portions initially served would be quiet good and sufficient, but was ok and would definitely have to ask for a refill for every item on the plate which is a sort of tiring process looking back and calling for the same. The buttermilk was served in a small cup which is normally used to serve chutney and sambhar, which I felt should have been served in a tumbler of a medium size at least.
Generally,in other restaurants more often than not it is a common practice that when a customer would ask for a refill of anything on his plate they ( waiter/server) would come back with a serving utensil which would have sambhar, curry, kootu and one more thing and they would be easily able to serve any of these to me or anyone around seeing if it's getting over in their plates. But here as i said earlier when I want sambhar, I got to ask(of course, anywhere) but it get that again in a small cup and if my wife wants something else to be refilled, he goes in again gets it back again in a small cup which sort of puts us off, rather than enjoying our time together for a lunch.
Anyway's all the above are only suggestions from my personal viewpoint and would visit back again after a few days to see if there are any changes to my taste and liking.
But one thing is for sure, the taste has got to improve.
My best wishes to the owners and the rest of the team of DOSA & DHOKLA.

They have varieties of dosa. Yesterday my husband and I had a quick meal here. We had rava dosa, plain dosa, khaman dhokla and dahi batata puri. We forgot to take some photos coz we’re excited to try their food😅. Good food, simple ambience yet very warming.. many families come and dine there.. for sure we’ll be coming here again😊

Went to this place in search of some Gujarati food. The place is clean and the ambiance is good. The staff was quite friendly and prompt in service.

Items tried:
➡South Indian Combo: tasted good, the red chutney was flavorful.
➡Gujarati combo: the bhaji was very sweet, ahould have been less sweet. The sabu dhana and Dhokla was good
➡Coffee & tea was just ok.. masala chai doesnt exist...
The dhokla was very nice I would love to order again from you

Average food, they should do something to make the ambience more attractive. Mysore Masala Dosa was average. Spring roll dosa and hot n sour soup were tasty and very desi Chinese. I was looking forward to trying Khaman dhoklas but they were unavailable. Filter coffee was really nice.

Being a Vegetarian, I am not sure how I missed this place which is very close to where I stay but I am glad I found this. Went for the Dosa & Dhokla night which they have every Thursday for Dinner. Totally new concept where they serve around 8 varieties of Dosas, 2 varieties of Dhokla and 3 varieties of Paratha. Seems they change the varieties every week and do display a list on offer every week. The concept is a steal at AED 26 per head for the unlimited offering

Interior is very minimalistic, very clean and hygienic. Staff are very courteous and above all the owners go out of the way to make customers feel at home

Will definitely be a regular customer and would like to try their other offering including thalis. Good work Dosa & Dhokla

Visited with a lot of enthusiasm but it didn't meet any of my expectations. The communication was poor and the food was average. Get a better cook to add taste... Can get better taste for lesser price. Ordered dosas which were average. Would not recommend.
Juhi
We tried four variety of dosas here Mysore masala, regular masala, paneer Manchurian, and pizza dosa. All dosas lacked flavour and spice. They were more sweet in taste. The food came in quite quickly and was piping hot so that was the good part. The cafe next to them looked more appealing!!

Went for a breakfast.. Was highly disappointed. Tea was horrible as if made the day before.Coffee OK. The place smells.
Changed my mind. Perhaps my last visit to this place. High time the management takes notice

love the food

Pathetically rude over the phone. Always call to check if a particular diet is available and the answer is rudely no. I doubt if I go there, there will be good service. Do not recommend at all

Happened to visit here yesterday to try their dosas. I ordered a masala dosa. It wasn’t that great. I have had better dosas. They had chats and dhokas too. They had many variety of dosas. The masala dosa was very crispy whereas i told them to make it soft too.
Shruti Sandaw
Very good varieties of dosa. They even have wheat and mullet dosas which tastes amazing. Decently prized and the quality of food is really good.

Ambiance - Okay

Service - Very good. Quick order turnaround.

Food - As the name suggests, Dhokla's and Dosa's are on the menu. But they also have specials of the day and thali's. We ordered the Baby Corn Manchurian, Masala Dosa, Gujarati Thali and Khaman Dhokla's. Beside the Manchurian everything else tasted amazing. I feel the food here taste homely. Its a value for money restaurant.

Cost - 30 per person

we had tried dosas, aloo paratha, starters. We felt a homely feel in all food. Hence food taste average. The food is not too spicy nor oily. The staff was helpful and cordial. you can have food daily here. but if you are looking a restaurant taste, that is lacking here.

Aloo paratha is just amazing. 😊👍👌

Confused between South/North Indian food? head down to Dosa & Dhokla, as the name suggests, a tale of 2 states is served! It is a fairly new vegetarian restaurant located in Karama with minimalistic interiors nothing fancy, but the food will definitely bring you back for more.
I had the Weekend Special Gujarati Thali (unlimited); a small plate Dhokla, chass (buttermilk), 3 vegetarian curry’s, daal, chappati/ poori, a sweet, salad and a cup of rice.
I enjoyed the different currys which had a traditional Gujarati taste, the food is not oily at all and super delicious!
If you’re looking for a light thali instead of a rich one but at the same time filling, then this is the right place!
Budget friendly as well: AED 28/- for an unlimited thali.

Rating: 4/5

After Seeing Review on Facebook we decided to visit the place located in al karama
name sounds Gujarati & serves south Indian food
i went with very high expectation after hearing thier unlimited dosa promotion.

First we tried few types of Dhokla. it was already been cooked from evening & was very cold & dry. didnt taste like fresh.

After dhokla we ordered their Pizza Dosa, Chocolate dosa, Schezwan Dosa, Thick Dosa , Plain Dosa
Rava Masala Dosa & Ghee Roast.

Ghee roast was the only dosa which won my heart..others were a big failure, comparing the price to other Veg Restaurants have more better quality, Quantity & Better presentation.

Then we decided to try Pani puri & Papri Chaat.. Unfortunately Pani puri was not fresh & papri chaat was very cold & i gave strong wordings to the management & returned my dish. the way they presented the food & taste really spoiled my mood . After that i ordered Chocolate Milk shake to change my taste which was also not up to mark.

Overall It was a very bad Experience !! 😑😑

Ever since I knew about this restaurant, I wanted to check it out. For my love of dosas & dhoklas, I dragged my family here today to check them out. I had both my favorites under the same roof!

Tucked in the hub of Karama, surrounded by various other restaurants, this place brings to you the best of both worlds! So if your love story is like that of 2 states, make sure to visit them.

Considering the fact that they have opened up recently, the interiors are pretty decent and clean. Seating space is limited as well so make sure you get in early during weekends.

For breakfast we ordered a ghee roast masala, masala dosa, upma & khaman dhoklas! I love how they serve their filter coffee in traditional copper cups. It gives it a very rustic yet classy look!
We liked everything except their upma. Mum says she's had better so a little improvement on that would be good. Nonetheless a good place to check out if you're in the area or are simply on the lookout for something new :)

The newly introduced Dosa buffet is what caught my attention and trust me it was totally worth it. I am a huge fan of their Mushroom twist dosa, chocolate dosa and Pizza dosa. The filter coffee perfect and the chutneys yum. It was super crowded and we had to wait for a bit. It was totally worth the wait.

Definitely going back!

Very authentic and satiating food..tried both south indian as well as gujarati dishes and none of it disappointed in authenticity...very homely taste..easy availability of parking is a big plus,(even on a busy friday afternoon, where usual waiting time for a parking space can go from 10 mins to few hours)..very clean and vibrant place...
Recommended - Weekend spl Gujarati thali (it came with very delicious undhiyo and puran poli, which was a pleasant surprise)

Dropped by this place one evening for a quick bite. Ordered a ghee roast masala dosa, kaman dokla, samosa chaat and juice.
The dokla was ok. It was a bit hard. The dosa was nice. Chaat was decent. Overall an average place to go. I haven't tried the coffee but the lemon mint juice and vanilla shake was good
Trader
ordered the gujarati combo. Apart from puri bhaaji the remaining items were decent. puri was too oily and bhaaji was too sweet. Also recommend to keep spicy green chutney for the dhoklas.

Impressed at restaurant name which is dosa& dhokla I asked homedelivey of the SPECIAL DHOKLA whch was disappointing .... they just served PLAIN YELLOW dhokla and I felt cheated that why I paid such a high amount for only 4pc... No SPECIAL TASTE at all .. I have eaten better stuff before
Sabudana was average but had too much capsicum and lacked original flavor

While there are numerous South Indian joints in Dubai already, they brought a new concept of adding Dosa with Dhokla. South Indian and Gujarati delicacies served under one roof.
I asked the owner how they came up with this idea of bringing Dhokla with Dosa, maybe her husband is a Gujju! Turns out that her sister is married with a Gujarati and whenever they went out for family dinners, some asked for South Indian dishes while some wanted Gujarati cuisine. After living in Dubai for more than 20 years, they came out with a new concept of bringing only these 2 fantastic cuisine together in a menu, hence Dosa& Dhokla.
I tried their Gujarati thali last time and this time it was Spring roll dosa, quite delicious. I loved those small cute steel cups for masala tea, 😀
#dosaanddhokla
#burdubairestaurant
#indianfood
#southindianfood

Nice place. Good food. Combination of South Indian with Gujju food is something unique. Will surely recommend this place for Authentic Gujju and South Indian Veg Food.

I was in a rush so just had time to try their onion tomato utthapam. It tasted good, the chutney was brilliant and the sambar was nice. Overall a nice experience. Will definitely try out more next time.

Very decent food - The mini idlis dipped in sambar are more than very decent - Small but warm with a very friendly and proactive staff. Home deliveries are prompt and well packaged.

Run by an elderly couple, this little restaurant serves South Indian and Gujarati cuisine and Chaat too.Though their menu shows that Chaat is served after 5:30 pm but when we asked for it,they happily served us.Before we could place our order they gave us complimentary halwa. The Khaman Dhokla that we ordered was not the typical sweet dhokla that we usually eat in Gujarati restaurants. It tasted good. The Plain Dosa was served with two chutneys and Sambhar. We also ordered Poha.It was okay. The best thing that I liked was the Filter Coffee. Our order came quickly and the best thing was that the elderly couple made us feel at home. This is what comes naturally from inside the heart and you don’t feel that you are sitting in a place that is commercialised. Thanks for that :)
