You will be full but each portion is perfect. ���Not too big. Not too small. �������The mix of dishes were perfectly executed (have i mentioned;) the flavors were rich and the fish was out of this world. ���The Seafood Amari course was like heaven in every plate. �

This happens to be one of my favorite places for sushi . It had been a while and we visited last week on day of Halloween. The place was spooktacular and the staff were filed with joy . We started off with prawn tempura and some mocktails followed by chicken chashu Ramen , handrolled temakizushi, super California tray . The service was pretty quick . Am not a great fan of prawn tempura but the kids loved it . Chicken chashu Ramen was absolutely fresh and delicious . Soothened my bad throat in no time . Super California tray had a excellent mix of California rolls and my favorite is the black diamond and crunchy Philly . We also did try the flavor of the kireina which is the shrimp tempura roll which was excellent too . Overall we had a great lunch and I must say the quality and the taste is definitely outstanding here .

Had Tiger Sushi & Sumojito here today at this outlet. Sushi was really fantastic. Staffs are extremely polite. I would definitely recommend to give it a try.
Anytime I crave sushi , this is a place I go to first and I’ve never been disappointed. Even for people who want to try out the vegetarian option , this place has some great options.
This place was amazing. We had sushi and also bento something new which we hadn't tried. We had gone for the buy 1 get 1 offer but when we were billing they added more and we weren't informed about it. So next time people go please be aware of this kind of situations

Venue Vibes: Chose this branch cause it's certainly one of the best. Their seating arrangements along with their entire layout is done really well.
Service: Very hospitable!
Highlights: Tofu steak was surprisingly nice, Ebi Gyoza and the Bento box were one of our favorites,no doubt. The Cali Tartare and The Tiger were crunched and worth trying out.
Got some amazing beverages as well(SumoJito)
Personal favorite: Beef Bento, Garlic Prawn Bento, The tiger, Garlic smeared Salmon. And the Tempura ice cream is a must have!!!

I was invited by the manager of this branch to rectify a previous bad experience in their Motor city branch and I can tell that he didn't sees to disappoint me or my guest.
Food is great but delivery time took 1 hour 15 min without even single apology.
Testy, clean but the freshness is questionable .
Huge difference between dine in and delivery.
⛩ Since I was craving for a good Japanese food.. I choose this restaurant as our choice . Surprisingly , as I scan the menu , it’s easy to choose the dish , I mean it’s not complicated . Simple . When we order, the food order was fast . I appreciate the staff who call us back to confirm and to fill the information I have forget since. Time for eating . I'm not a Sushi expert, so don't consider this as a solid review if you're a Sushi- pro. I like what I ate, and hence, my review:
"Never judge a book by its cover" is exactly what I thought when I left this place, looking at its small size from the outside. Little did I know I was in for a treat!
We reached there on an early Friday evening with the intention of having some nice Japanese food. Although seating is limited, and their ambience ia kinda plain, the staff there were courteous and our server Mr. Daryll was friendly and helpful. We may have over-ordered by a little but we were completely stuffed and satisfied by the end of it.
The following are the items we belted:
1. Wasabi Fire Shrimp - Yes, I like the famous Dynamite Prawna/Shrimps and their wannabes everywhere I go, but mind you, this actually had a hint of Wasabi in their Mango salsa... So it's NOT a copycat after all! Yum! 😁
2. Vietnam Rolls - Different from the Sushi rolls I generally stuff myself with, but didn't like it as much. Not a fan of Cucumber, that's why I guess.
3. Seafood Soup - Satisfactory.
4. Emperor's New Roll - looking at the menu, all the Sushi Rolls look too exciting... But never have I come across Sushi Rolls with Sweet Chilli sauce! Really added flavor, making this a one of a kind!
5. Sweet Potato Crunch Roll - oooooh that Mayo and Sweet Chilli sauce and Sweet Potato shavings made crunchy... We almost ordered this again but assured my mum that we'd come back again soon for that 😄
6. Samurai Poke Bowl - This made us realize that we kinda over-ordered, but it tasted so good! Could have ditched one of the above items to enjoy this to the fullest! Fish eggs adding that tangy flavor, in the middle of a tsunami of Mayo and Sumo sauce on top of the seafood, below being a layer of Tempura bits and rice. Dayyuuummmnnn! 😍
7. Drinks: one Blueberry Burst - refreshing, cold and had bits of fruit! Mom was happy! and a bottomless Passion Fruit Ice Tea - I drink like a tank and it did the job.
8. Tempura Ice Cream - We've had this one before elsewhere and we were s little disappointed to see the ice cream inside already in a molten state. Presentation was nice though - like for all of the items above!
Though we ended up spending quite a bit, it would probably cost AED60-80 per head... If the food is ordered by normal people in a planned manner 😄 We were also offered a Sumo loyalty card, and I gladly took it coz I'm coming here again for sure! 👍🏼

Delivery was on time. They said an hour, they arrived in 40 minutes.
Anyway, the super cali rolls were awesome. I always enjoyed having sushi at Sumo's.
Go for it, delivery or dine in. You won't be disappointed!

Here is an update on the new introduction of the dessert - matcha roll cakes slices.
As shown all in the pics.
A few days ago, I have brought this feedback to the sumo here and glad that after a few good days , the management did get the branch manager Mr Regie to follow this matter.
According to them, this matcha roll cakes (are sold in three slices for aed24) us a new product which they are testing it out. If there is a hit for more than they would consider to put it in the menu.
Me Regie , apologized for the bad experience and the bad quality I had received . Without hesitation, he asked me to give it another try with the product.
I tried. As you can see from the pics of a Slice of it - the sizes of one slice has improve . Which if sumo going to charge aed 24 for three slices of this size ; I would say it's reasonable!
As compared to the one I first encountered - three Poor thinly slices cake !
Next the taste, this time I can tell the taste as you can see from the pics ; the matcha cream is more .
The cream is just nice ; not too sweet . Taste of the cream is good .
The texture of the cake, is not as dry and hard as the first encounter . Improved .
There is a food storage advise sticker pasted on the box this time as there is none on for my first encounter.
This time I would say , there is great improvement in the preparation.
I would say to sell this particular product , it really a lot effort to be carried out. Delivery guy has to make sure the slices of cakes doesn't dance crazily in the huge box .
Thank you Regie for willing to make an effort to listen the suggestions and feedback and turn the situation in good hands.

I trip on sushi. But sumo takes me way beyond. Have eaten from many of their outlets & have probably tried all their rolls - they are all so so good. For people who aren't that fond of sushi & fish, this place will get you hooked on for the versions they serve.
Recently won a scratch and win card and won a free drink hence, decided to visit them at this location.
Ordered just a Mojito. So picturesque. So beautifully made, it tasted amazing for this hot, humid weather as it refreshed us completely.
At just Dhs. 18, it is pretty good though I wish they reduce the ice content as it ends up tasting waterish during the last few sips.
Typically i would order a Poke Bowl (my favourite) but out of curiosity, i ordered the Curry dish. I was pleasantly surprised with its taste, texture and quantity. Service is good but could work on the ventilation - we left the restaurant smelling like food!

This a good sushi place opposite work, have been here a number of occasions for sushi, the sushi is good, not spectacular, but again at this price it's very good value and the customer service is always excellent. The place has a good lunch time atmosphere.
No matter which restaurant I want to go and try their sushi, nothing can compare with this restaurant the best sushi, actually everything is very tasty on their menu, enough said.
One of my long time 'bookmarked' places. Ordered a Cucumber crab salad, Salmon cali, Shrimp tempura bento and Tempura ice cream. The ice-cream and salad were the highlights for me. The salad perfectly complemented the weather; and waffle sticks in the ice cream were really good. As for the bento, I liked the chicken and the carrot tempura tasted awesome with teriyaki sauce.
Service was quick; salad came within 5-8 mins. The dining area was a little small. Liked their menu as there were lots to choose from. Will definitely continue my visits with Sumo!
Everytime I will see my doctor for regular check up. Must come to this place, location is very close to healthcare city I want to try all food on the menu list. Very authentic japanese food. My favorite japanese restaurant in UAE. Excellent service from all staff.

Everything at Sumo Sushi & Bento is fanastic. The flavours here are not exactly traditional Japanese, but rather an adapted taste from the land of the rising sun. The restaurant originated in the Middle East and is now expanding into other countries in the region and abroad. Most of the items are prepared fresh so you can expect to wait a little for your food rather than being served pre-made dishes that who knows have been sitting around for how long, and I am ok with this.
Sushi is good and they havecgood varieties.
Their sweets have to be worked on as its not up to the expectations.
Their price is slightly high.
However, taste is good.
Service is good as well

Sumo is our go-to place for sushi. They have a wide variety and affordable prices. I have tried most branches and all of them are quite consistent with their sushi.. fresh and always tasty! I also love their bottomless iced teas that is always perfect because my friends and I usually hang out here for a while ordering sushi and it's great that our drinks always get refilled. They also have pretty fast service and friendly staff ;)

Sushi for lunch is an option we consider if we are diet conscious, running late or generally running out of ideas to have lunch. We were in the third section last Thursday and we decided to have lunch at Sumo Sushi and Bento at Health Care City. They are located opposite AXA Insurance Building. The parking behind the shop has been dug up and hence you would need to roam around a little bit to find parking or you may have to walk a little bit to reach the restaurant. The restaurant is slightly small which can seat about 18 to 20 pax inside and about 8 pax inside the building. The majority is taken up by the Kitchen and the Sushi Bar. The place is buzzing as there are a lot of offices around and most likely a lot of people are in love with sushi or bento in general as when we reached, there was only 1 table available.
Once we seat, we are welcomed by a staff who hands us the menu. We order the following: - Rock N Roll Shrimp - Bangkok - Dragon Roll. The menu is quite large and vast. One would need a few minutes to read into the different options they have. The order is not taken or noted via pen or paper which is the traditional manner or the new and high tech way which is via a pda. They memorize it, which is nice. The order does not take a long time to arrive. The first item that is presented is the Rock N Roll Shrimp. Deep Fried Shrimp which is then tossed in their spicy mayo sauce. This sauce over powers the Shrimp and is very rich and heavy. I feel they can add a little less mayonnaise. The bite size pieces are about 6 to 8 and are good amount for a starter. Next come in the 2 rolls. The Bangkok is has Salmon, Tuna and is topped with Jalapeno. The Spicy Mayo sauce is something that is really spicy. The sushi is good and the rice is moist on how it should be in a sushi. The sushi has a spark of spice added with the fresh jalapeno cut and served on each sushi. The Dragon Roll was the better sushi amongst the 2 ordered. The Sushi Roll is stuffed with Unagi which does not taste too much and the sushi rice is dressed in sweet teriyaki sauce. That helps a lot as that makes the sushi a little sweet. Thin slices of avocado balance out the taste. The roll is good and makes you want to order another serving provided you are hungry.
The meal was good for lunch and overall the experience was good. A great place for a quick bite. The service is quick and the staff are on their toes trying to make sure that the tables are quickly served. The Bento's will need to be tried next time. Hopefully soon.
The best sushi in town and even the bento boxes are worth a try, just a stone's throw from my office so a lot of my creative thinking happens here. Chef prepares sushi before your eyes .I Have gone back several times.( they can use better glasses for their drinks.there is only 3 sips in there :(
We wanted sushi and Japanese food quick, so Sumo fit the bill. We each ordered a bento box, mine the chicken katsu and my wife's the chicken teriyaki. The size of the dish is very large, and quite delicious. We also had the sushi, which had a nice spice and crisp to it. Overall was a ton of food and left us very satisfied.
Nice place for someone who wants to experience Sushi for the first time. Gives you a wide variety of sushi.

I stopped in tonight because I really wanted a good soup. I ordered the Chicken Chashu Ramen. It was good. I would have liked if they had so chili sauce to kickstart it. The portion was generous.
Surprisingly I had room for a Yogan. That was artfully prepared by Chef Erich and served by Bruce. The Yogan was delicious. Just the right amount of spice.

What an amazing hidden gem this restaurant is, especially in the quaint and quiet little part of Umm Hurair. Sashimis and Sushis are an absolute delight, the freshness and the portion sizes being really good. They were pretty quick for the preparation of the order, and the variety available is really amazing. And the best part is the pricing is moderately cheap, keeping in mind the amazing freshness of each dish. Tried their Bangkok rolls, a clever touch of jalapenos adding the extra zing at the end of each bite. The signature chefs special featured a good collection of sashimis, sushis and nigiris to relish. Definitely a must visit place for every Japanese food lover. Will return again for sure!!!

This is my most favorite affordable Japanese Restaurant in Dubai. Food is great and staff are very accomodating. But, delivery really needs to improve! I ordered 7:51pm (actually 7:38pm) and my order arrived 10:10pm.

Went here while they had a reopening deal so we got a free crunchy crazy roll. We also tried the sweet potato crunch roll and anniversary roll. The first two were pretty good, my favorite being the sweet potato crunch. I've never had sweet potato in my sushi and the taste was different in a good way. The anniversary roll was decent.
Food was prepared extremely fast, even though there were other customers and delivery orders. The only negative points were that the pieces were each too big. It was great that there were 8 pieces and technically bigger pieces means more sushi but they were hard to have at one go. Taste wise though, the rolls were good and reasonably priced by sushi standards.
tried sumo for the first time yesterday and i wasn't disappointed. food's a bit on the expensive side though but you get what you pay for. it's now one of my favorite places to go to for lunch during weekdays (work days).
I am one of the regulars here since my work place is just approximately 20 steps away. One of the cheapest go to places for authentic Japanese cuisine.
Their sushis and bentos are very delightful to the palette. Your tongue will thank you for it. And their edamame and miso soup is totally divine!
One of my favorite to order here is their Samurai sushi and Salmon bento. I also tried their beef bento which is exquisite.
I would love go give this a 5* rating but... The down side of this restaurant is it takes quite a long time to serve the food which will usually eat up almost 80-90% of your lunch hour. But if you are not in a rush then it is worth the wait. Staff are friendly too.
Ordered takeaway several times, love the samurai maki rolls and the avocado salad. It's slightly expensive but food is always fresh and the veggies fresh and crisp.

Hunger struck , wandering for comfort food , Yakisoba seemed to be the best option available . It is stir fried noodles with vegetable , chicken and shrimps. I requested mine to be prepared without the shrimps and so it was :)

It might not be the fanciest sushi place in town but it's a go to place if you are craving sushi and need a quick fix. Ordered the Nigiri Maki bento which gave me the option to try different varieties. It was quite decent for the price - both in terms of taste and portion size. The delivery was quite fast too. Definitely trying more from here.
I was invited by my sister who works at DHCC to try this Sushi & Bento place she had been telling me how awesome the food tastes here and I'm sad for not going earlier. The food tastes awesome, everything was fresh, the sushi was made in front of us and the chef was kind enough to adhere to our personal requests. We tried their best sellers the samurai and Alaska. We had fried calamari for starters which was a bit disappointing and the dipping sauce too didn't have any flavor. We had their BBQ Beef Bento box as our main it was beef served on a bed of rice a few carrots and edamame also, this tasted good too.
For our drinks we had ice teas since it was the only bottomless offerings. Service was prompt, the staff was well informed. My sister got a free salad once when she went with another friend. We didn't get any today tough. 😀
Definitely going back and highly recommending as well. Only draw back is parking there's no parking so you've to park in the other block and walk to the place.
I was craving sushi on Thursday and decided to order the Super California platter and Ebi Gyoza from Sumo. Sumo is always good, no complaints on the food end whatsoever. Value for money is quite good as well although I've noticed that the platter I ordered costs more now than it did a few months ago when I last ordered it. My only complaint though is the long delivery time, it took almost 90 minutes for the food to get delivered even though my address is saved in the system!
Craving for sushi so came here around 9.30pm. Late but the kitchen was open and the service was fast.
Ordered the ice tea, unfortunately only raspberry was available. It did not taste good at all. Give it a skip!
The sushi was what we should have stuck to.. we got the Tiger sushi and a Maki combo roll!! I loooveed the Tiger sushi, I could have eaten the whole plate, sadly had to share. (As you can see.in my pics the empty Tiger sushi plate) the combo was good.
Enjoyed the evening and the 3 of us were happy!

We went there on a weekday evening so it was just us and another customer who left after a few minutes. So the restaurant was empty. The ambiance of this place is a tad bit dull, I think brighter lights would help.
We tried the 18 pieces combo and the tiger along with a bottomless raspberry ice tea (sadly that was the only flavor available), I've mentioned this in my earlier review as well, Sumo has to try to improve the taste of their drinks. The tea had no flavor of raspberry and the ice had not yet settled into it making it a room temperature drink when served. Definitely not ice tea.
The sushi was much better and the service was quick, my favorite was the tiger, the spicy mayo sauce was just an added bonus. The combo was also really value for money and just these two items could easily be shared within 3 people.

Value for money, sushi / sashimi crowd pleaser.
My wife and son love Dubai’s interpretation of the classic street-corner sushi bistro and have been coming to Sumo religiously for years. I've only gone with them when forced, preferring a more authentic version of the same concept, Bento-Ya for example. But every time I have visited Sumo with them I have come away smiling…and stuffed.
Sumo has recently opened a (small) branch literally two minutes walking distance from my office near Wafi and this was my first solo visit – more a momentary surrender to curiosity than anything else, honest. The restaurant is small – three or four tables inside, maybe two or three outside and another two or three in the building hallway (sorry but I can’t remember the name of the building for the life of me). The (see through the wall) kitchen is BIG which suggests this place was designed for deliveries. I’ve never had sushi home-delivered…hmm.
I had a bowl of their Miso Ramen, the stock of which was hearty BUT a little too sweet and hello, what happened to the Miso? I’ll tell you what – there was so little Miso that you couldn’t taste the Miso, could you? – that’s what happened to the Miso. And the egg noodles were a little too under cooked BUT the dish was saved by the shavings of some beautifully flavoured beef – NICE but most definitely Ramen for the Gaijin.
After I had finished my lunch I stood and watched one of their (Filipino) sushi chefs preparing rolls of some kind – mayo galore! but, as I remember from my wife/son visits, very yummy. Service was also an all Filipino affair – polite, smiley and brisk. I’m going to come back to try one of their stir-fried noodle or perhaps even their monthly special – (Korean) Bulgogi…hmm. Had the chef's special platter, which has variations of sushi, sashmi and nigiri.
Great experience.
Have to say that when it cones to fast food sushi: this is it... They have the normal selection... We always go for the crazy shrimp rolls... Staff is helpful but do tend to disappear... Be careful when u order for delivery: takes ages and any extra additions/ sauces are usually forgotten....

Very tasty and fresh sushi 🍣 staff are friendly and welcoming. I had takeaway was also fast. The place from outside/road side is difficult to find there should be a sign or the label i am attaching picture so you won't have any difficulty. Inside is nice sitting a little small but it is not busy. Enjoy
