Surprise! We happen to pass the billboard on the Hotel that said Manglorean, Goan & Kerala Cuisine. The place is huge, the staff is welcoming and the food is authentic. We did two types of thalis. Goan and Kerala. Both were huge in terms of quantity and the person serving us got us hot fish everytjme. The deal is also pretty cool. You could just add a beer for AED 5. Overall a happy afternoon meal. Susegad!

I was carving for Manglorean food and one of my friend recommended Rasa, the place is simple but nice coastal charm. Ordered Chicken Sukka Neer Dosa, Pomfret Curry, King fish pulimunchi and fish Tawa fry. The taste was homely n service was very friendly. Highly suggest for manglorean food lover.
Perfect Mangalore restaurant with decent ambiance for family dining in this area . Tried Chicken Urval , Crab Sukka -were as good as what we get in coastal Karnataka. Must try Restuarant for people who are missing taste of Mangalore in Dubai 👍
We had a family dinner here at Rasa on July 7th and we had a good time. For starters, we tried lemon chicken and chicken lollipop. We tried chicken biriyani, boiled rice and pomfret curry. Everything tasted really good. I have to mention that their service stood out. The staff was courteous and ensured we were having a good time. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good Indian food.

Surprised at the quality of food.. Never noticed this place. The ambience needs an uplift but the food is excellent. Tastes like home food and very well made. Beef chilly is very good. The lunch buffet is extravagant and very reasonably priced.
This is my favourite restaurant in Dubai hands down. The South Indian thali is my choice of indulgence here. I’m a South Indian born and brought up in “Malnad area” of Karnataka, so I can talk about authentic taste of south India with some extra credibility. If I were to have a last meal this would be it. Everything is perfect !! Taste, service, generosity and everything else. Ambience if you are listening - take a walk ;)
This place is very close to where I live, so whenever we want to treat our friends we bring them here.
The have everyday buffet, with different variety of food, includes salad, desert , starters and main course.
The ambience is good too and they have special offers during various occasions.
If you miss mangalorean food, this could be Ur other option.
Utsav is very close to my house so it's a great place to be especially for me! But I must tell you that their buffets are awesome and even if I stayed far off I would travel to come here for sure! The spread is huge and if you are a fan of Goan or Mangalorean cuisine then you are sure gonna love this place!!!

I am impressed with Buffet on Thursday night. Today I had Appam, Chicken varattiyath, Prawn Tawa and Pineapple juice. It was great . No corn flour in gravy, prawns are not frozen prawns. Spices are natural. Appam tasted good because it doesn’t have baking soda like other Kerala hotels do.
Went here this afternoon for lunch. Had their prawns masala accompanied with soft chapatis. It had the right flavor and texture. Overall it was tasty. They also have North indian and South indian thalis.
This is a brilliant Mallu restaurant. Possibly most underrated in Dubai. The superb Kerala style beef fry with Hoegaarden draft....where else can we get it. Ordered a prawn + kappa combo....massive prawns almost lobster size. And you get free parking which is a nightmare in Karama.
Predominantly a South Indian Restaurant. You will find all Mangalorean, Kerala dishes on their menu. However, they do serve North Indian Food. We ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, Mutton Biriyani and Masala Chhash. Everything was super 👍. Service was prompt and fast. Staff was quite on their toes. Comfortable sitting and catchy ambience. Recommend.

I tried their lunch buffet a couple of times and had dinner once. The food is exceptionally good. The lunch buffet has separate of South and North Indian cuisine. I tried their Dosas, Idlies, Vadas along with Naans, Chole and Saag Paneer. Everything is rich in taste and really cooked well.The dinner wasn't expensive as I expected. The biryanis and the curries were cooked to perfection and the quantity is a lot more than in other restaurants. Try it...you won't regret it.

Good ambience with liquor available. . The food is average. . We ordered beef masala.. we felt it was having some problem. The beef was felt bad. Just expressed the matter to them .. the taken back the remaining and served us back with a good beef. . It is a tendency for bar hotels to serve old meat, since the people are drunk.. felt this was caught red handed.
Last years Easter was spent here. I liked the ambience and I distinctly remember the service to be good. Don't know why it took me so long to review this place.

A little surprised to see it being so low rated on zomato. I had a good experience. Ordered a kerala non-veg lunch meal which includes a lot of items. The fish fry and fish curry (the non-veg part of the meal) was really good. Worth a shot guyz.

Onam at Utsav Restaurant-
We had a lavish spread of collective dishes called kootan (curries) which was served alongside with plain boiled rice. Kootan included curries like Sambar ( lentil based vegetable curry made with tamarind pulp & other spices), rasam (south indian soup traditionally prepared with tamarind juice as a base and tomatoes and other spices), Parripu ( lentil curry), Kaalan, ( a traditional kerala dish made with vegetables, coconut and yoghurt), Avial ( thick mixture of vegetables and coconut seasoned with coconut oil & curry leaves) ,Thoran ( fine chopped vegetables made with grated coconut, chillies and other spices), Olan ( vegetables simmered in coconut milk and then seasoned in coconut oil) Pachadi ( a side dish made from fine chopped vegetables, seasoned with coconut oil, spices & yoghurt), moru curry (curry made with yoghurt), butter milk, variety of pickles, inji puli ( sweet & sour ginger pickle) papadum, plantain chips. Finally, We had delicious desert that included jackfruit payasam (pudding) and lentil payasam. The food was sumptuous. All I can say is... This is the best place to celebrate Onam, which is a traditional festival of the Keralites.

There's a few things in Dubai I make it my mission to try in every resto I go to just to find out which is the best I have ever had.. hummus dynamite shrimps and the infamous butter chicken... Most places u have butter chicken at you are sure to be dissapointed I dunno where at what time did ppl decide that this dish is supposed to be sweet... Utsav was different... Finally a place with good butter chicken, not decent but good... Enjoyed the food of this place , can't say much about ambience as I was sittin in the bar next door and ordered food from here to there.. it was enjoyable food plagued with a bad atmosphere but still the food is worth trying.. next time I will make sure I sit at utsav even though you can't smoke there... Must try the south Indian chicken chilli the butter chicken and the beef pepper fry... Had the chicken 65 and naans n paratahas as well.. it was all delicious... A great place for butter chicken

Authentic Mangalore food- tried & tested!
They also have an mazing choice of dishes in Goa and Kerala cuisine but we specifically tried the Mangalore cuisine.
Some of the items we ordered were not on the menu card but on what was printed outside. There is also a separate tea zone. Outdoor seating is available. The staff were very polite and helpful in giving us suggestions.

Being in Dubai and not witnessing the coastal cuisine scene is quite a shame!
@rasa_restaurant_lounge at Fortune hotel karama brings an amalgamation of Goan and Kerala cuisine delicacies under one roof!
You can have their mangolorean or Kerala thali alongwith a beer!
And the Thalis are served on banana leaves. Recently they witnessed a rush for Onam Sadhya gatherings!

We had a great time at the restaurant because this is our first time to experience something like this where we are having 3 different Indian cuisines all together in one restaurant.

We were welcomed very well by the staff. This restaurant also serves Alcohol if someone desires to have alcohol. We saw many families in the restaurant also enjoying their food with kids.

And yes of course they have some amazing delicacies for seafood lovers. All these places are located close to sea and coastal parts of India. We have heard a lot about seafood served here and hence we would highly recommend this to both vegetarians and Non vegetarians.

Indian Food is famous for its diversity but thats not it. theres much more to indian food than you can think of. The true definition of it can be seen in the costal region that showcase the vast variety of food that a lot of us dont even know of is at Rasa with dishes from Kerala, Goa and Mangalore.
