Beware: if you get tempted by the name Mai Kolachi thinking of the similarly named restaurant at Karachi’s Do Darya, pleas do not get fooled. This is arguably one of the worst dining places in Dubai! This is also the first desi restaurant which thinks that Chicken Bihari means Seekh Kabab! When we ordered one plate each of chicken bihari and mutton bihari, we were served seekh kababs and the guy serving us (probably one of the owners), told us that Bihari Boti means Seekh Kabab! These burger guys should be sent to stand at Burns Road as punishment! The restaurant was almost empty save for one table and after we ordered, it took a good part of 40-50 minutes for them to serve! When we inquired why there was a delay, the owner said that they were closing to go to a party but then stayed back to serve us, which in plain english meant ‘we are doing a favor to you by serving you food, now shutup and dont make a noise’. Imagine his audacity!! This is also one of the only restaurants which serves Thousand Island Salad Dressing with Seekh Kabab, as this was what we got when we asked for the sauce for the bbq. Long story short, had the worst experience at this restaurant, coupled by a bill of AED 436/- which added insult to injury. When asked for the bill details, the lady at the reception made a highly irritated face as though this was quite beneath her. Their delivery guy sitting outside also lambasted them and told us quite a few things which honestly I shouldn’t be putting here. Summary: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Visited Mai Kolachi with the team at office for an Iftar dinner. The staff headed by Ms Khan was very hospitable. The pakoras for the appetisers were amazing. We ordered their chicken and mutton Biryani which was prepared fresh and was very well presented. Garlic naan is a must try along with paneer tikka. Very happy to recommend if you are looking for a Pakistani food in Business Bay.

I think they are new in town as i can see there 5 more branches are opening in dubai in different areas. We tried this place for lunch this week we order paya nihari and handi. All these items were reasonable i think the quantity served was a bit less. Taste was average. Price wise its reasonable. I donot mind having lunch from this place once in 2 weeks

We ordered biryani from the business bay branch in bay avenue..we ordered two portions initially but in not less than 5 minutes we told the waiter to cancel one portion, they refused to cancel the order saying they billed it already and we had to pay for it. Secondly the rice was half cooked and too dry and the hostess was not even polite. Really disappointed with the service.

This is nothing but a scam. This restaurant does not exist. I visited this place on 13th April only find out that it exists only in the Donner restaurant premises with the name on two of the walls. We were also told that the owner had sold the restaurant and left. We were provided two different menus while also being told that only the Nihari, Paya, rolls and bun kebab options were available from the Mai Kolachi. We ordered the following Mai Kolachi menu - Nihari Donner menu - Seekh Kababs, Chicken Tikka Masala and Peri Peri Fries The Nihari was not Nihari at all, very salty and had a different taste altogether and we returned the dish The seekh kababs were nice. The chicken tikka masala gave heartburn to all. The Peri Peri fries is just another name for Masala Fries. Disappointed, especially with the justifications being given on the quality of food. We literally had to argue for refund of the Nihari dish which we had returned. Please don't be conned while visiting this place. I also see Mai Kolachi opening up in different places. The question is if the owner has left, how are those other restaurants opening?

i was happy to see bun kabab in the menu so I enquired what's the difference between normal bun kabab and special one. it turned out that it's karachi street food famous "andey wala burger" or bunger with egg. the burger was fresh, tasty and the closest to karachi taste i have ever tasted. it is served with sauce but could be served with karachi like sauces in my opinion. staff is friendly, especially Ms khan. taste 4/5 environment 3.5/5 service 4.5/5 verdict. will come again just for this yummy burger. Update on 21st April. went for breakfast and realized it opens at noon. This prompts me to suggest to management to consider offering breakfast options on weekends.

The restaurant is great value for money, it is clean and the service people are very friendly, especially Ms Khan. We ordered paya which could have less garam masala, fish tikka which needed salt and a little more taste and the behari roll which would be nicer without the tamerind. I had gone there with a friend for a late lunch, we had ordered their special bun kabab (it has an fried omlette style egg), Fatoush salad, mash daal fry, mutton karahi, butter naan and plain naan... Food Taste: it was good compared to other contemporary Pakistani Restaurants.. value for money Ambience: it had a upmarket feel to it, with cozy interiors, good music... Although being a Pakistani Restaurant I would prefer Pakistani music but it was fine.. Service: the Filipino hostess was rude and unfriendly... Ms. Naghamana Khan took over and gave us their pineapple halwa as a compliment.. which was a sweet gesture... Portions: they were enough for two individuals... Although we had a good experience I was a little disappointed because mai kolachi is popular for their Koyla and shinwari karaaahi in Karachi... they didn’t serve it here.. although it was there in the menu..:they had a very limited menu that was served... a major let down for those who know what mai kolachi is famous for... Recommendations: i would surely go there again provided they maintain the same quality and taste for their other items that are available in their limited menu...

It’s was past 11pm and we had no idea Mai Kolachi closes by 11 and was about to leave disappointed but then Ms. Khan stopped us by saying no one goes back empty from my restaurant and welcomed us happily. She served us with whatever was available and I would love to give 5/5 for service. First she served us with sweet lassi that was great and the Bun Kababs was amazing. Then we had chicken kadhai and that was one of the best kadhai I’ve ever had. Overall it was a great experience and would love to come back again but obviously during operating hours :P

We reached the restaurant by 11:10 on a Thursday night hoping to have dinner. but they had told us that the restaurant had been closed at 11 PM. But then Ms Khan offered to serve us specially with whatever possible she could. so hence the service was definitely great! I usually dont leave reviews but this experience definitely left me with a thought. Food was very authentic, tasty, and very reasonable. Would definitely go back!

Revisiting my review about this Resturant... Unfortunately, their standard is getting lower. I guess they are limiting themselves for bbq only. Rest of the items are below average, probably have changed their chef. I strongly believe it’s not just food that make us tempt but also the ambiance and the way we been served. My son and myself had dinner at the restaurant . First impressions go the place looked kind of disorganised but as soon as we were seated by the friendly staff who explained the few items that are not available in the menu. We ordered a mixed grill and mutton karahi and bread . The grill was sumptuous and quantity wise excellent value for money. The karahi was finger smacking delicious .the nans were fluffy and fresh. Great value for money. The restaurant manager's Ms Khan's rendition of a Malayam song though she was from another South Asian country made our evening memorable. Highly recommended. Only minus seemed to be the blaring music which was a bit too loud.

We tried it tonight and we walked out pleased! The restaurant is relatively new and they’re in the middle of hiring a Pakistani chef so, a lot of the items are not available yet. However, we ordered samosas for starters. Lahori Chargha and chicken ginger for mains with tandoori roti and garlic naan. Loved the garlic naan, it was so light and tasteful. Ms. Khan was very friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait for the other branches to open and for their menu to have everything available especially the Shinwari Mutton Karahi. Will definitely be coming back.

Been a few times in the evening and been pleasantly surprised. I think the best is the Special donner on a naan. If you want great food at reasonable prices then this is the place for you.
