Have ordered many times for dinner that includes dosa/idli/Chappati varieties. The taste is good and the price is reasonable. Coffee is often not packaged and delivered properly, it spills out. You must try their kaima idli.
Please maintain little bit of cleanliness. The waiter’s uniforms are always stained and hand wash areas are always wet.
Food is good and fresh. Veda was served freshly cooked. Paneer Masala dosa was spicy and tasty. Chilli paneer was everything that you want in desi Chinese hefty portion for a fraction price. . Ordered take away for other Chinese dishes for later as too full now 🤣👍🏻 definitely a must visit for south India and desi Chinese cravings.
All dishes that we had were good - dosa, idli, onion rava dosa, semiya kichadi. Stand out favorite was chettinad idli - chopped idli tossed with so called chettinad spices. Children also liked as it tasted like non vegetarian dish. Sambar was so homely and so different from other south indian restaurants. All three chutneys were good too.
Quiet a good place to visit. I gone through their full menu and finally ended up with ordering my fav Masala Dosa. It was tasty and the chutneys were all good. The space is clean and hygienic with good daylight inside.
What i did not like is the strong smell of the floor cleaner in the air that which was a distraction for enjoying the aroma of Dosa.
My wife was craving for some good masala dosa. Saw this restaurant on zomato and decided to try. The ambience was just perfect, you open the main door & that pleasant smell of pure vegetarian food hits your nose. We were greated with some delicious kesari halwa. Well, although the dosa was very good, the masala wasn't that great. Vada was also pretty good. While leaving the place, you may go through various options in sweets at the counter.
It’s a Tamil restaurant which serves only vegetarian dishes among which there masala dosa and vada sambar is what I often eat .recently I tried there filter coffee and I was instantly in love with it .whenever I pass by I just have There filter coffee overall a average restaurant ,affordable for daily commuters .And yeah they have variety sweets kept at the counter u can just go through and grab some !
If you try the South Indian food and also an Indian food you just have there onion rava Dosa vada masala dosa Puri bhaji vada with so delicious
My love for South Indian cuisine keeps on growing whenever I visit a new restaurant.
This also was a gratifying visit.
The welcome complimentary hot sheera was delicious.
The star was the crispy hot Masala Dosa accompanied by hot sambar with 3 types of chutneys. The chutney was once more served in a jiffy, without asking.
Hot filter coffee was a traditional blessing.
Want to go again next Friday for mini Tiffin for sure.
Authentic Tamil vegetarian cuisine, I have been around a few times and inevitably end up having their mini tiffin which is easily the best option to go because it has a bit of everything and is of incredible value. At 17 dirhams a pop, you get the full experience with idli, vada, masala dosa, Upma, Pongal, Rava Kesari and a shot of filter coffee to wash down the awesomeness! why not eh?
Its a pure vegetarian restaurant....u will get a same feeling like u r sitting in a authentic tamil restaurant..food was nice and hot....i have one suggestion the tea and coffee just make with fresh milk kindly avoid rainbow milk.....rest everything is perfect......
Very good service. Friendly staff and tasty food. Especially the chilli parotta, podi dosa tastes very good. Also they sell indian sweets & snacks which are always fresh and tasty.
Ordered their "Business Lunch" which is nothing but a mini thaali. It had 3 types of rice - namely pudina, curd and with sambhar. Along with these, one curry, one veggie and sweet was part of the thaali. Food was excellent. Tasted like home food. Loved it.... highly recommend this place for orders.
One of my favorite place in dubai for vegetarian south Indian Dishes.
I am a regular visitor to this restaurant since 2014 as it’s very near to my office and since this restaurant is very hygienic having a nice and clean ambience with a very friendly and cordial staff I always prefer to go an dine in at this restaurant instead of ordering a home delivery.
My favourate at this pace are its masala dosa served along with three varieties of chutney and sambhar , really tasty chutneys 😋😋
Must try their dry fruits dosa
And for lunch they have South Indian and North Indian meals and my all time favourate MINI THAALI
Over all rating 4/5
Taste / quality/ quantity 4/5
Ambience/ hygiene 5/5
Highly recommend 👍
Nice and authentic South Indian veg restaurant. Masala dosa and onion uthappam are the best.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Next time I’ll try the puri and bhaji.
Good place for South Indian dishes.. Loved the meals, idly, dosa, fusion idlies are awesome here must try it out. Curd vada is wonderful. Friendly staff
They try hard to live up to their namesake. This could be the nest Tamil veg restaurant in the area. Despite the number of chutneys, I like sambar to go with Iddli. Their sambar is quite good. But a nicer white chutney with poori would be great.

The perfect place to enjoy some really awesome South Indian food. Their dosas are crispy and filling with the taste of it being on point. Their chilli idli is the other one worth a try. Tea is the best thing to finish your meal with. Great service with really good taste is what Madras vegetarian stands for.
A very neat and clean veg restaurant which each one of the vegetarians will love to have a visit. Very good hot vegetarian foods available. Will prepare the foods in fresh on order. All the veg fooddies are gonna love this for sure. Do make a visit guys you are gonna enjoy the food🙂
Lovely hot idlis and dosa. Dint really love puri bhaji. Bt the restrnt is meant fr hot idlis and dosa and it does a brilliant job in it. Loved their masala chai and olso orange juice!
Have tried their vadas and masala dosas multiple time. They are always ample in quantity. Even tried this sadhya, though I'm not of this, but impressed by it quantity.
Fantastic a food waala! Try dosa. Gobi dry
It was very good experience and a fast Service as well.
Nice and tidy place.
Better not to go on working lunch hrs as it will be crowed
Such a good restaurant for veggies and those who love to have varieties to taste.
Food tastes good and orders are delivered on time
Worth the cost
Very good especially for South Indian food. Very clean and economically good. But sweets are very expensive . I like their North Indian Thali but they need to improve the quality of bread I mean chapati. 4/5
Ordered mini tiffin.
Regular complementary soup is one of the plus for this restaurant. And started my main dish. Taste is good. Only thing little expensive...
Nice place and cost is reasonable. Tiffin items good than the lunch and staffs are much cooperative.
Looks smaller in size in down and upstairs seatings are available.
I visited this restaurant casually without any expectation but turned out to be a big surprise. Enjoyed South Indian dishes especially their filter coffee. Another good thing is ample of parking available near their restaurant. Good value for your money.
Have been here few times over the last few years. A very simple lunch that is decently priced. Somehow their Rotis are the softest, and different from what we are used to. Staff is nice. Parking is available, and pricing is just right. Ambience is very basic.
Good South Indian restaurant for breakfast....not yet tried the Lunch meals here...the portions were big enough. I had the onion rava dosa, mysore masala dosa and the idli vada.
Second review, food keeps getting better and service is so perfect from better. Love the experience in this restaurant each time.
Awesome food, a complete sadhya over a banana leaf every Friday. Very healthy, good quality, nice dishes, awesome staff, superb service. Do give thus restaurant a try!
Daily visitor for lunch thali.
Medhu vada after 4PM. Yumyyyy!!!!! Budget, friendly guys to serve. background with ilayaraja and spb special songs.
I have been a customer of Madras Vegetarian for almost a decade now. I so clearly remember those good old days when we used to take a walk across the Abu Hail signal in the light afternoon sun of winter and enjoy a hearty tamil thali. From then on to this day, nothing has quite changed in the taste and quality of Madras Vegetarian and its food offering, except may be that they have a few new additions in the menu and the space has doubled. The food is definitely very close to what one could enjoy in Tamil Nadu. Despite being far away from the place of origin, Madras Vegetarian manages to serve up the same taste with all the authenticity and flavours. No wonder it is one of my most favourite tamil restaurants in Dubai for the past ten years. I would highly wish they could start a branch in Qusais. Surely there will be stiff competition from Sangeetha, and the others but I am of the opinion that it could be a great success too for the group as there are more indians living in Qusais area than Hor Al Anz.
The below are my personal favorites
South Indian Thali
North Indian Thali
Masala Dosa
Pongal
They have renovated this place recently. The new ambience is quite good. Food is pretty affordable with reasonable quantity & good taste. There delivery is fast as well. Good place for affordable south indian food.
Nice atmosphere like our native..mostly used to eat dosai not dosa 😜 with our sambar.. yummy 😋..namma ooru sapadu na vey oru vidham dhan.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Good for South indian food.

Idli can be softer but chutneys are good
Prices well.Have a homely touch
Serves a welcome soup which is ok ok.
Overall good
Chilly idaly and masala dosa are super sambar was an awsome taste in late night difficult to find parking good vegetarian hangout place in abuhail 4
This is my 200th review...........!
A good choice to have that quintessential Madras special meals and your melt in the mouth Masala dosa.
Ambience maybe a bit of a problem for finesse sticklers but when it comes to food these guys are probably the last word in dosas.
Masala dosa was large, crispy( just the way I like it) and comes with sambar and an accompaniment of three different chutneys in kinda tricolour.. orange, green and white.
Madras special meals is a meal fit for a very very famished fellow with an array of dishes. It comes with a dollop of veg biryani (served upfront)+ pooris+ chapatis+ rice+ papad+sambar+pulissery+veg korma+ poriyal+ rasam+ pachadi+ raita+ curd+ two veg curries+ two sweetmeats( payasam and Gulab jamun)and a banana(seriously??). I still don't know what the banana was for but I am "going bananas" for this meal.... quite filling!!
We also tried their kaju katli from their sweets section which was pretty okay...!
Since the food was amazing in this case....to heck with ambience...what say?
Good vegetarian Restaurent. I used to order breakfast from here when I was working in hor al anz. Homely and pocket friendly Restaurent and the food has authentic Tamil taste. Good recommended joint for breakfast.
This restaurant have a special taste in all dishes,Masala dosa, uttappam, vada ,mini tiffin all superrr...homely food...good service...hygenic...good going...
good: its good in taste and quality and gives a feel that we are somewhere in chennai
bad: home delivery is not free and taking more than 40 minutes . the staffs could put a smile on their faces
Finding this place is a bonus to me. Usually food is not problem in Dubai. But finding a specific taste is a issue here. So just found this place very close by to my office. Masala Dosa will give you complete feel of eating in an authentic South Indian restaurant.
Perfect food, everything is spicy (not sweet), taste is good.

0 rating for Service, especially waiters.
As we stay in Abu Hail, this is fast, convenient and cost-effective food service. They are also very cooperative and efficient. The chutney's need improvement but the samber is good.
Will give full five out of five had one dish and the best Taste mind lowing awesome blossom real worth for money for a authentic idly from chennai and tirchy they are very reputed in south India and they continue the same here in uae the idly was so yummy it was like a spoong their sambar chutney especially the red chutney it's just just authentic can't beat them they are reasonable and the best I have lot to say put cant write it down more
We accidently came across this place today evening as we were really hungry and didnt want to end up in
the usual roti sabji routine.
So our rating for this place is based on the following:
Food quality- 4/5
Taste - 3.5/5
Ambience - 3/5
Staff - 4/5
To start with we were greeted by their warm staff who readily placed the welcome soup in front of us as soon as we settled in on our table. Both of us were really hungry and loved the veg soup which had loads of chopped vegetables at the bottom and tasted yum. We ordered their kaima idili next at the suggestion of one of their staff and again absolutely loved it. It had cubes of idli pan tossed with a nice curry sort of a dish and had a lot of vegetables again (like peas, onions, carrots, etc). Moving on we treid their Onion Rava Dosai and Paper Dosai both were really good and tasted superb. The Paper dosai was huge (almost extending to the adjacent table as can be seen in the pic). The chutneys served with the dosais were good too. But the sambar was not something up to our pallet (may be because we prefer the udipi style sambar and this was more chennai based). We also ordered their filter coffee which was not that great. Overall a nice place and a must visit for dosai lovers.
Good dosas. I order the ghee roast masala quite often and often have 2. Their food is good and some of the junior staff are really good too but i feel the senior staff/teller are a little rude.
But nonetheless i still go back here because of the good dosas and also as it is close to where i stay.
Had dinner after long hours of shopping .. very much satisfied with tamil nadu authentic food..Good dosas, chutneys..and starters ..felt like am back in Chennai with tasty food and its atmosphere..
An amazing restaurant when it comes to traditional South Indian cuisines the foods fresh and tasty love their take away snacks and specially their Puri baji is my all time favorite
A nice place to have vegetarian food at a lesser price...their gobi manchurian dosa is my personal favourite...the rest of the items are also good. Recently, tried out chilly idly and paneer dosa which was also pretty delicious...
If you are looking for a vegetarian treat, this is the best one for it.. Love the crispy ghee roast and vada with colorful chutneys. Sure to fill your tummy with delight 😀
A very good, cheap, ideal for family, elite and most importantly a quick-service restaurant. Every time I have visited this restaurant, I have been impressed by the delicacies cooked there.
Madras house .....ghee roast dosa with their ghee pongal is my favourite. Well you will find quite a few dosa houses in the neighborhood but this one is good.
Ambience not the best when you have to wait at peak times at times but the service is good. Always smiling and ready to service attitude by the staff.
Parking : easy to get opp or behind as well
GOOD-food♡♡♡ Explorer🍽

Very authentic madras food. Awsum idly vada n dosa. Filter Coffee is a must have. Efficient n fast service which is always a integral part of such restaurants.
Yet another of my favourite go to place. Simple chennai south Indian food. Easy on the pocket and also the stomach! Can never resist the Onion Rava Masala Dosa followed by excellent south Indian filter coffee. Don't bother too much about service, ambience and decor as it's meant to look sound and feel like you're in Chennai!

A good restaurant for veg eaters. Staffs are all always welcoming with smiling face. Really we will feel like entering into our neighbours home. They waiters are treating us with great importance.
Their service is very quick and fresh!!!
Ambience is also very good. Buy they should go through their lighting and it is feel like entering into the marriage reception.
Good South Indian simple restaurant. Reasonable price.. If you love South Indian food.. Please go and enjoy some nice delicacies.. Everything we tasted was delicious.. Enjoyed some authentic South Indian food...
madras star restaurant at like this humble and quaint little restaurant. The food is good,
The staff (
sathiyamurthy )here is very friendly , at least whenever I've visited. Their Ghee roast and Uthappams are superb.
They have renovated this place, and now it looks amazing. The food is really good, especially if you visit this place at 7pm. The soup which they offer before food is also amazing. Only thing is that, they wouldn't give you green chutney, when they do home delivery (even after deliberately requesting)
I don't mind giving it 10. The place is that great, the taste is impeccable and the service is top class. Siva is my fav there who treats everyone like his family. Then after saying this the food is the best you get like its a home away home for me. Any time this place is in my top of the list.
This place nearby to our house, been here few time but order for home delivery very often.
Nice veg food, order anything from the menu - you won't be disappointed. Quick service and delivers even for single dosa and Cofee which will be just about 10 dirhams.
Tip - don't forget to tip the the delivery guy, they work 365 days in all weather conditions with same enthusiasm and speed.
Best vegetarian outlet in my neighborhood. My family's always to go place when they are just not in a mood to cook and would love to just take a walk and grab some yummy sambar idli and dosas, with the must try filter coffee... Budget friendly, lovely array of sweets.. and the chutneys they serve is to die for... In love with their Mysore Masala Dosa and Podi Dosa, accompanied by their sambar idli vada set. Always recommend this place for people looking for some light breakfast and dinner and if you live in Hor Al Anz, the walk from your home to this restaurant is the best to kill those buttery calories that you free.. Love it and keep up the good service! =)
One of the most popular talk about veg place. They make awesome Tiranga chutneys that's goes with dosa perfect. And they do serve South Indian filter coffee it's brewed with a metal device that's resembles two cylindrical cups.
