I frequently visit the place with my friends , we love the ambience, service, food , music everything. Once i visited Own on my husband’s birthday. I wanted to make his birthday special & i wanted to give him a small surprise so i requested Own and they made an excellent arrangements exactly what i wanted on a short notice. I was very much impressed with the arrangements. my husband loved the surprise. Staff is really co operative, food is amazing, ambiance is very cute. It’s a perfect place with a good combination of everything. Must visit cafe in JLT.

Own café is tucked inside JLT with beautiful front view of the lake. It is a vibrant place that has spacious seating both indoor and outdoor. It is popular for shisha, therefore most people are seen chilling outside with shisha at late hours. This café would definitely be the place to hang out during winters.
I recently went there for dinner on a weekend. I had Mix Mezze, Cordon Blu & Mixed Grill along with Strawberry juice. The food was fresh and in good portion. My favorite was the mix grill platter, everything on the platter was tasty & well cooked.
The restaurant is at an ideal location. I will definitely be visiting again for shisha experience.
They have games, they have books, they have shisha and they serve good food. What else would u want. Everything at one stop. Went there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed out time there the service was impeccable, food was just right, drinks were very refreshing, the ambience was very relaxing. Will visit them again.
Me and my friend visited this place yesterday. I was welcomed by Percy. She was friendly and accommodating. Their food is tasty and big serving portion. I love the grilled platter and the dessert fettuccine crepe.
A happening place in the middle of JLT. They serve some amazing Food & Sheesha. The space is huge with great ambience.
As for the food their portion sizes are huge. Can be shared as well. Food is freshly made and well presented. Its a lil pricey but considering the whole ambience and place. Its a nice experience.
Their drinks are tooo Good. So well presented and taste even better. The sheesha is also on point with great service.

Every time we come to Own Cafe and it's a great experience! The food is good, we especially enjoy the Club Sandwiches and for starters the Batata Hara is delicious. Service is impeccable, the guys are always polite and friendly and Khaled is a great host. We'll come back for sure. Keep it up!

The food was great. The service was absolutely fabulous, with extremely attentive waiters. We had a great mezze combo platter with a delicious balloon bread. Sheesha was also great. But excellent service stands out the most.
This is my absolute favourite joint for late night eats.. my shisha cravings and just generally to hang out with people I need to have long conversations with! Even when you are a sports fan... this is the go-to place in JLT.. or a board gamer just looking to play while having shisha..
Their hummus beiruti is to die for! A simple addition of jalapenos creates magic.

As for the service.. the staff are super friendly and if you are a regular no matter how much gap you visit them after... they remember your favourite orders!

We visited the cafe for an Iftar Buffet. We were greeted by the owner and she explained us their menu and that the recipes were originally from her mother who was also in the cafe at that time. The food was excellent. We loved the chicken which i guess has lemons on it. The rice with noodle (so sorry was not able to remember the names). And most of all the Kunafa, if that's what you call it. The one with cheese on the bottom. We could't get enough of it! It was such a nice place. The chairs are so comfy too! We highly recommend this place.

Went there yesterday, they got a very yummy everyday Iftar buffet. They also have buffet everyday except the weekend after Ramadan.
loved everything they about them. The ambiance was perfect . You can sit inside , they got smoking and nonsmoking areas separate. and you can outside and enjoy the lake view 😍😍The meals were perfectly executed and very yummy , good news for vegiterians as well you get to eat lots of yummy veggie meals 💖🌸👌🏻. It's a family business running by a very successful mom n daughter , met them in person and love them already 😍💖🌺🌹The staff were friendly and accurate . Everything was perfect so I give it a 5⭐️ rate 👏🏻👍🏻

Took my friend visiting in March to own cafe for their lunch buffet. We were amazed by the quality of food for only 40 dhs. Everything was so delicious, like homemade. Warah Ineb were so yummy. We ended up coming 3 times. Was my friend’s favorite restaurant while visiting me. Shisha is very good, not burning as I often experience in Dubai. One of my favorite places! Can wait to try their iftar this Ramadan.
What I love about this place is the seating closer to the lake. During winters, it is a bliss to be seated outside with some lime mint shisha, dipping some bread on their creamy hummus and really very good Pizza, which was a pleasant surprise. All the more reason for us to come back is for the service by Mary and for her friendly nature. She is one person who loves her job and it shows.

The staff are wonderful here! Best shisha in Dubai by far. Food menu is super for a quick lunch or a snack in the evening. The outdoor area by the lake is lovely this time of year. Worth checking out - it’s not close to my home but I travel to here all the time just because the service is excellent!

A cute cafe right opposite home! It has become our favorite hangout spot post meals to merely sit by the lakeside and enjoy sheesha with various types of tea, milkshakes and coffees.

I found this to be one of the best places for shisha. Although the price range may not be satisfactory to all, but once you try it, it's worth the price.
I ordered Double Apple Shisha for myself as it was a solo lunch for a change. Nice to not share such an amazing shisha! The flavour lasted until I left, two hours later, the coal was changed continuously, and the staff were very considerate.
I also ordered some food, and since I was hungry, needed three dishes to satisfy my hunger. I sipped on the Passionfruit drink which was delicious and refreshing.
Started on with Cheese Fatayer which was delicious. Eat when served because it's best when fresh and hot. Next, Greek Salad. With heart shaped strawberries, this was one healthy bowl of salad and also, the addition of olive oil was good.
Ended the meal with a main course of Philadelphia Steak. Juicy is the right work for the filling. The fries were good too.
Will surely recommend this place. Chill place to enjoy by yourself, to do work, or even with a group of friends. It's a place for all!
Own café is a relaxing café in the serene location of JLT right next to the lake in cluster I. It’s a vibrant café serving multi cuisine food and shisha. They have live music and karaoke if you visit them on weekends. For the weekdays they have lunch buffets at AED 40 which is an amazing price for a continental buffet.
They have variety of seating options -outdoors, inside smoking and nonsmoking. The space is very huge. It’s like a typical shisha café setting but beautiful in its own way. Decorated with flowers and hangings all over make it impeccable.
I had the grape mint shisha. It was smooth and flavorful. Great value for a price of AED 55.
Food is good too. Sufficient choices for vegetarians as well. My recommended dishes are veg. spring rolls, balloon bread, hummus, cheese sambousik and fettuccine crepe. They were all delectable and filling.
Service is good and attentive. Prices are as per market standards. A complete package of food, shisha, ambience and service !
JLT has always been bustling with a variety of restaurants. Amidst the crowd we found ‘Own Café’ -a simple, artistic café with soulful Arabic/Intercontinental food and shisha. Located in cluster I (an easy walk from the DMCC metro station) Own café has been into operation since 2012. It is a family owned business and the passion of the owners in running the café is quite evident in their decor and food. As informed by the manager cum owner the recipes are from her mom’s “Own” kitchen. Fascinating!
The Own Cafe is a family owned restaurant that is quite unmatched. The food is something that your mother would cook for you. The taste and quality is impeccable. The hospitality offered just makes you want more and more. Hats off to you guys. I recommend one and all to surely this cozy place for some awesome food and for the lovely ambience and hospitality!!

I visited own cafe for a weekend lunch, the place wasn’t crowded at all.
I started off by having salads; fattoush, fresh juices, fried potatoes cooked in spicy chilli sauce along with some pita bread. I loved the fresh fattoush and the fried potatoes and enjoyed the lemon shisha.
For main course; chicken pepper stir fry served with rice, arabiata pasta, chicken skewers. I did not enjoy the pasta as it had an overload of tomato taste. The chicken strip fry & the skewers served with French fries, garlic paste were delicious. The chicken stir fry had the right amount of spiciness and the skewers were cooked perfectly.
All the portions are good for 1 person. The ambience is great during winters to enjoy shisha, bites, drinks outdoor. They also have an indoor seating.

Recently I have visited them. It's located at jlt. It's very nice for arabic vibes . Each week they have karoeke and live music . I really love the family atmosphere inside . I passed by for shisha actually so I can't make comments about cuisine .But shisha should be more long lasting . Mine was easily burnt that's why I'm giving 4. Cosy place in JLT to enjoy good shisha and light lebanese snacks. The place is small but quite comfy. The shisha is made quite well and i enjoyed the hummus, pizza and some potatoes, can't remember the name but it was quite tasty and attractive. The desserts were amazing too.

The soft yet upbeat music playing on the inside alongside the different smells of shisha, offered at Own Cafe, coming from the outside sets a more cheerful and pleasant atmosphere. This wonderfully complements the white and pink furniture of the cafe. Having being to our fair share of restaurants, no staff team has made us smile and say thank you the amount of times the staff of Own Cafe has. The polite and patient team does procure a well-deserved portion of this review. So for one last time, thank you.

If we ever wanted to travel through time and space for just one drink, it would be Own Cafe’s infamous Blue Lagoon Mocktail. The huge, price worthy, glass is drenched in crystalline swirls of warm blues and bright yellows that blended into a calm green syrup;the zest of the lemon offering the perfect amount of freshness. Foodie’s who avoid mint? This beverage is honestly going to change your impression on something you thought solely belonged on either gum or toothpaste. Tireless summers in Dubai will once again be brought anew.
Starters:
Balloon Bread - One of many specials at Own Cafe is their Balloon Bread. An actual balloon sized bread complimented with a generous serving of fresh hummus. The bread was better than expected. It was crunchy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. As the main courses flooded in, we overlooked the bread and as we got back to it, we expected it to be hard and dry. We were proved wrong. The fluffiness of the bread helped it to stay soft and fresh even after the end of our meal.
Main Courses:
Beef Burger- Own Cafe presents its own take on the traditional hamburger; this one intertwining all the components of the dish perfectly, while also leaving the crunchy coleslaw to stand out and speak for itself.
Mushroom Alfredo Pasta- There's nothing worse than a dry pasta- one taste of the Mushroom Alfredo Pasta would completely extinguish this unnatural possibility. With every pasta piece being evenly coated with the creamy and cheesy alfredo sauce, you will keep wanting more. And wanting to be in Italy.
Cordon Blue- The menu uses the word “special” to construe the dish’s staggering taste. Nevertheless, this one word, or any other that we may use to describe it does not do it justice. From the tender chicken to the creamy sauce, similar to the pasta, everything about this dish perfected and complimented each other.
Dessert:
Now for the dessert: we were lucky enough to have tried something as exotically pleasing as the Arabic gum flavored Ice cream, embellished with a giving amount of cotton candy. While the ice cream melted into sugared nothingness, the not-too-sweet cotton candy, fully complemented its standalone taste; not to mention its bountiful serving size. Not only was it offered with everyone’s favorite fun fair snack, but was also topped off with pistachios. Remember, you get this dessert and you end up getting a 3-in-one bowl of experience plus something to talk about.

Made our way to Own cafe which is just a cluster away from where we stay. We had no expectations as we hadn't been there or heard of this place before. Was very impressed with the very elegant & classy decor of this place & has a lovely setting overlooking the lake which with be splendid in the cooler months. Noticed there was a separate shisha area which looked really inviting & chilled out, we were told Thursday & Fridays happens to be karaoke night which I'm sure is gr8 fun! We opted for the non smoking area. Was graciously welcomed by the lovely Lubna our hostess who had invited us to come over. I always like to know the background of places I visit and she explained how this restaurant came about because her mum is an amazing cook with authentic recipes passed down from generations, she's also developed & collected recipes from all their travels abroad, they wanted to share her passion for cooking & that is how Own Cafe was born. The entire family participates in the operation & her mum is always there overlooking everything that gets done in the kitchen. You can definitely taste her love for cooking coming through in the food. Everything we ordered was delicious & cooked to perfection. I was extremely impressed cold Maza platter accompanied by the beautiful large balloon bread. The Muhammara was absolutely delicious, had a lovely spice to & loved the crunch of the extra walnuts. The warak enab was definitely the best I've tasted so far! Lubna mentioned that there will be some new editions to the menu in the nxt few weeks we had the pleasure of tasting their new Mushroom pizza & if u a fan of mushrooms you going to love this. It's has a mushroom paste instead of the usual pizza sauce topped with Mozzarella & fresh mushrooms. Definitely thumbs up on this edition. We also had their grilled steak with pepper sauce . This was cooked to perfection & delicious. The mixed grilled platter with subtle spicing was really good too. The cordon blue is one of their signature dishes but didn't have space to try that, will definitely go for it the nxt time.Loved the presentation of their drinks & was really refreshing. On to dessert.. the warm chocolate brownie topped with ice cream was absolutely decadent. My hubby tried the Arabic ice cream topped with cotton candy, this was a very unusual treat for us & we enjoyed the contrast of the cotton candy with the unusually tasting ice cream. They are also in the process of adding some homemade honey cake. The service was good & staff were friendly & accomodating. Actually think this place should have a much higher rating on Zomato as we definitely were very pleasantly surprised with the wonderful experience we had at Own cafe! I'm looking foward to trying some of the items on the menu as well as the new editions. Thank you Lubna & team for the fantastic meal & service!
Own cafe has a very chiiled atmosphere the shisha was pretty good (mint grape) which accompanied the sweet Moroccan tea. One of my companions tried the shawrma which was decent in quality but quite large in quanitiy and was filling enough.
A sheesha spot where you don't have to constantly worry about tripping over someone else's sheesha! This is a very lovely and spacious cafe with beautiful views of the JLT lake. The sheesha itself was a bit off at first, but they were lovely enough to sort it for us immediately.
Own cafe started out as one of the very first restaurants serving sheesha in a residential zone. It's a great place to smoke some sheesha and enjoy alfresco dining overlooking the peaceful lake. Don't forget to try their morrocon tea.
I go here quite often because the food is pretty good, service is nice but it could be a bit better, every now and again they forget about you, especially when it's busy which is understandable, they might just be understaff.

I haven't been here except on Fridays when they have karaoke night. I've read the reviews and some people say the service sucks but from my personal experience service is excellent. Very friendly staff, attentive, and fast. Everything about this place ticks a box, food, ambience, parking availability, prices. Perfect for a weekend with friends.

It's a good thing that this cluster has ample parking unlike some others.
Have ordered different shishas every time. This time I ordered the mint. Ofcourse, this is one flavor which can't go all that wrong. It was good. The charcoal hurt a bit after sometime.
Also, this time there was some live singing going on. It was loud. They do have a glass partition and you can sit on the other side but still you can hear the loud noise each time the door opens.
The ambience is very good.

Another thing that I liked is that the shisha guy changes the charcoal even when it is almost closing time and they have got the bill. Unlike many other places who say that it is closing time and it cannot be done.

Love the view. Situated by the lake and surrounded by the high rise buildings, own cafe has everything to offer for that soothing evening after work. Had the mint-grape sheesha with some kuboos and hummus and green tea. Great food. Great service. Great location.

My partner and I found this cafe because of the "Hot Chocolate" section on Zomato , we were at JLT to dinner and wanted to sit for sheesha before so landed up here.
The location of the café is great , by the lake. So if you're looking for a not too loud sheesha joint to chill with friends , this place would be ideal.
We started by ordering the Cherry Mint Sheesha , on arrival the sheesha didn't seem too nice but once we asked the sheesha guy to fix it , it got really good.
Not too strong and a decent amount of flavour , so I'd recommend the sheesha over here strongly.
To drink I ordered the blue hawain margarita and my partner ordered their hot chocolate because it featured in the Zomato hot chocolate section.
The Blue Hawain Margarita was brilliant , really good flavour and looked very tempting as well. The Hot chocolate was not too bad , it was presented well in 3 shades but I think it was just very regular made out of the chocolate powder.
For some reason I really can't find mind blowing hot chocolate in dubai , sigh.
All in all a very decent sheesha joint with a good view , so if you're around JLT and want to sheesha, this should be your go to place.
Quick Tip : Cluster A is situated ahead of the first JLT group of clusters that comes while driving from dubai to abudhabi and there is ample parking there so don't worry.

With a good seating area, the place always is filled with people sheeshaying. Their food tastes good and the servers are pretty friendly too. Must visit place if you prefer a calmer area for smoking. @girls their pink and white interiors is just exciting!
