This place is quite hidden near Al Ghurair Mall but they definitely have a good hotpot. The price is a little bit on the higher side though but doesn't mean it's not worth it. I would love to come back to this place soon while it's still the soup weather!

Authentic Chinese hotpot feel. 👏🏻👏🏻
I always crave their hotpot especially during the winter season. Their dishes are fresh and the price just right. I love love their crab balls with stuffings. The peanut and sesame sauce is really good and always good 😋. We always choose around 6-8 dishes for our hotpot and the price is always right ranging from 150-300 dirhams but it still depends on what you’ll choose. Highly recommended and best hotpot in town 😁

Plus fruits and candies are always free, just ask for seconds.

very strong fishy smell, I couldn't even set in the restaurant for few minutes, i cancelled my order immediately and informed the waitress that am leaving because of the smell

I wake up craving this hot pot. Hidden near Fish roundabout a MUST for anyone that has ever been 'touched' by a true Chinese hotpot experience. Mine were all in China. This is the real (clean) deal.
Not sure why rated so low but i will bet my bottom dollar the best in DXB.
I always check the cleanliness of the washrooms and even this ticked the box.

THE BEST: mixed pot and highlight is the Jin Pin Beef
SURPRISE: freshness and quality of ingredients
WOW: authenticity
VIBE: we we're the only non-chinese in the restaurant. Nice for datenight and with friends
PASS IT ON: Undoubtedly

The taste is really good and thats the reason i keep going back! Plus the service is good as well.. the only thing i realized is the price when we pay the bill was always around the same even when we go for lesser dishes and without meat, where we think the ladyboss might have just simply put a price on the bill. So it is better to count it when you pay. So i did on my last visit, i realize what she did was she tell us a price then she said after discount is xxx price, but we tried counting again after and realize the "discounted" price was the price of the food n drinks we had without any discount..because we counted the price of food infront of her. We didn't go back to ask for the " discount" again of course. Anyway, its still a nice place and the soup base is good, service was good too. Just be mindful when paying bill. Because I just dont like people ripping off my wallet just like that. Giving extra or tips should be up to the customers.
This is one of those places. As soon as you enter, you are met with the warm smile of the hostess who usher you to your table. Admiring the cozy interiors, you soon find others around you mesmerized by what lays in front of them... a pot of steaming broth; and their chosen vegetables, poultry, seafood and meat ready to sacrifice themselves by being dunked into the comforting broth. It also puts one at ease seeing that majority of the customers are Chinese... that's one up for the place being authentic.

We were served by Awwal (if I remember his name correctly), a young Bangladeshi lad who has been working in the restaurant for the last 5 years, has a good knowledge of the menu and is fluent in Bengali and Cantonese (or Mandarin...excuse my ignorance, I am unable to tell the difference). He recommended we go for the tomato and the spicy broth as well as recommended a few other items off the menu. He also assisted us with the sauces - a fresh assortment of sesame, peanut, coriander, chilli, chives and soy I believe.

Soon enough we were busy dunking different things into the broth, chatting over the ingredients, contemplating life, showing off our chopstick skills (cause you know you got to do that...right?)... all things that make the hotpot experience that much special... It's a collective eating experience.

Coming to the food itself, the tomato broth was really nice! The spicy one started off as spicy and got really hot...so might not consider that for the next time. They also have a clear broth and a mushroom broth which would be interesting to try on our next visit.

For the ingredients themselves, the handmade fish balls were sublime. You need to make small balls of hamour paste and chuck it into the broth...and they taste delicious! The Thai fungus, the mushrooms, crab balls, bok choy and seaweed were really good as well.

To sum it up, it was a really nice experience we had at this place. A perfect place to go with family and friends, sit for hours and participate in the experience. As a word of caution, it is best to avoid the chilli broth (unless you can REALLY handle the spice). Also, avoid wearing white clothes...although, the restaurant does have aprons which you need to ask for.

Definitely a place worth visiting!

Follow me on instagram: HighExpecTASTEion

There is really nothing different between hot pot restaurants except the broth in the soup base.

I am sure most restaurants just buy frozen meat and sell those so where I decide to eat is usually decided on by the type of soup base they have.

Well the soup options here are not that exciting unfortunately. There is spicy, herbs, mushroom, classic (which I assume to be just a chicken broth) and tomato. I have been to restaurants that have unique flavors like thai chili, thousand year egg, pumkin flavored soup bases.

Anyways ok to experience if you've never tried it before. But for the seasoned hot potters, I say try somewhere else.

If you've never had a hot pot experience I suggest you try it at least once. It will broaden your horizon in terms of a a cultural experience.

The place isn't very easy to find: tucked away in one of the by lanes near the Fish Roundabout. Once you get there however you know you're in for a nice time.

The ambience is good, they've got decent lighting with comfortable seating. And each table comes equipped with its own induction hot plate.

You get to choose the kind of broth you want (we went with spicy beef and chicken - it was a two in one kind of vessel), and then the meat you want to drop into the broth. There's also an assorted number of vegetables, seafood, mushrooms, dumplings and noodles you can order; any one of which can make your meal interesting.

They have a sauce counter separate from the tables. There's a good variety of sauces available, and if you're a newbie you could be overwhelmed by the choices available.

Once you have your sauce ready the waiter brings over your broth in a big vessel and then leaves it to boil on your table. When the broth is hot enough you simply drop the raw meat and assorted items to cook, then fish it out with your chopsticks once its done (they have spoons and forks for the uninitiated) and dip it into your sauce and enjoy.

What makes it so special then? Perhaps its the fact that you get to sit with your family and friends and make your own meal together while laughing and having a good time that makes it worthwhile. All around you are Chinese folks reliving some custom from their homeland. That kind of makes you feel a bit more global.

The experience is good and I'd recommend you go with a group of people so that you enjoy it more. It's a slow meal to be enjoyed at leisure. In a fast food world this is something you need, to remember that life needs to be savored sometimes.

The lights kept going off every once in a while and that was a bit off putting. The sauces were too salty and I'm not sure how authentic they would be.

In the end a meal for 4 turned out to be 215 bucks. The owner was kind enough to round up the amount to 200 and gave us a discount of 15.

It seemed like a nice happy place where you could imbibe a culture in a somewhat authentic manner.

Go for the experience, sit back and relax with friends and take the time to live life to the fullest.

PS: You must have realised by now that I've rated the place for the ambience and experience. The food? It's good. Not the usual Chinese fare one expects. The broth lends the meat and toppings most of its flavor. The sauce does the rest. A quick tip: learn to use a pair of chopsticks; it's quite fun!

This
was one of the best dining experience that I had in Dubai. The concept of hot
pot is quite unique. They serve you a stock/broth put on a metal plate which
is in the middle of the table and it keeps on boiling.

You can order the ingredients that you want to put in the stock and enjoy
that with a bowl full of sauce. The creation of sauce in itself is quite an
experience as our server mixed more than 12 ingredients and kept on asking us
if we need or don't need a specific ingredient depending on our taste and
allergies.

The combination of the sauce and broth with all the ingredients was
perfect.

The tip would be to take a regular pot which is good enough for 2-3 people.
The pot will be divided in two parts and you can choose if you want the spicy
broth in one of teh pots. Please don't choose the spicy one unless you have
really got an appetite for it. I am a big time spice lover but this was
beyond what I could handle. Never the less, we mixed the two broth and it
became normal for our taste.

Do visit this restaurant if you want to experience traditional China!

I went in with a friend having read great reviews and expecting an incredible experience. And ho boy, an experience it was!

As complete hot pot novices, our waiter quickly suggested what we should order, a dual pot with spicy on one side and plain broth on the other. Our dipping choices were flat beef, chicken breast, mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, and handmade noodles.
Our waiter helped us make the sauce and we got some incredible drinks. A Chinese ice tea and a pear drink. These by far helped us survive what was to come.

Returning to our table from getting our drinks and perusing the sauce section, there was a MASSIVE cockroach on our table. A waiter right behind us, bringing our hot pot, spotted it and with a cry of dismay he quickly caught it and apologised.
Admittedly we were a bit put off. But out pot looked pretty cool and as the dipping choices came, we soon forgot about it. Until later a very tiny cockroach appeared on the table and I had to, very squeamishly, catch it in a tissue. Eeek!

Now the food. The flat beef! Tastes really good! But we learned that you literally have to dip it in the broth for a bout a minute or two otherwise it'll disintegrate. The chicken breast was kinda bland and I def won't be ordering that again. But vegetables were lovely and fresh. And the noodles took a while to fully cook but tasted alright.

In the beginning the spicy broth was spicy yet manageable. About fifteen minutes into the meal, as the pot kept bubbling, the spicy side became nigh unbearable with heat. We mixed the two sides together in an attempt to even out the flavour but it was still very spicy and I knew it would play havoc with my stomach the next day. Eventually we just fished out all the chillies, a veritable small mountain of them, to try to salvage our broth.

IT WAS QUITE AN EXPERIENCE!

While we definitely didn't manage to finish our meal, there was way too much broth and mostly noodles were left in it and we felt so full with our mouths burning, the dessert and drinks made it a fairly nice meal.

We got the buns with condensed milk to dip into. And they were deliciously hot and the condensed milk made them very tasty.

My verdict: I very much want to try hot pot again but have a hot pot connoisseur with me to help me pick better options. The tastes and the whole experience of sharing a pot and filling is great. I am not sure I will be returning to liuyishou however, because of the critters that joined us for our meal.

Now this was an interesting experience. As a regular visitor to China, finding a decent hotpot has been a quest for a while. The key thing was to find a place that felt 'Chinese' with staff that are from the country in question.

The place itself was relatively easy to find using Google maps via zomato and the map is accurate. It's just by fish roundabout, intersecting Maktoum hospital road. Parking is difficult, but if unavailable, you can go for either of the 2 hourly parking lots on the same road just prior to the restaurant (note it's 10AED per hour, but saves a lot of time).

We went for the dual style hotpot, with one section for Spicy, and one for the standard stock. This worked out well, as whilst the spicy one is delicious, it was good to have the non-spicy one for variation. We cooked the meat in the spicy stock, and the veggies and noodles in the non-spicy.

Note that the spice is a Chinese style spice, using a plethora of Szechuan peppers, which are a delightful little pepper that creates a tingling sensation on the mouth and can be an acquired taste for some, but it tastes just like the hotpots in china.

We went for the mutton and the beef (note that the mutton was more tender due to the cut) and an array of vegetables including Tong hao (a Chinese green which is quite tasty) and the fungus (a black curly type of mushroom). Add to that a portion of noodles and you are ready to cook away to your delight. The frozen beancurd also worked well and was easy to handle and cook.

The food was extremely authentic, and whilst it can be intimidating for a first timer, the staff spoke great English with the bonus of an Indian staff member and an Arabic one should it be required.

You insert the item into the pot, wait a minute and when cooked you can pull it out, dip it into the dipping sauce (self-serve at the front of the shop) and enjoy the delight. For additional carbs the noodles work well (tip- break the noodles in half before putting in the pot and cook for a while). Dipping sauces were an array of sesame oil, chilli sauce, different seasonings and soya sauce. I recommend soya sauce with fresh garlic/coriander/spring onions. There's also a peanut sauce for added variety.

The place and area is underwhelming, but for an authentic Chinese hotpot experience, it's hard to beat and will be there time and time again.Expect to pay between 100-200 for 2 people, depending on the number of items. Note that 2 meat dishes, 2 veg dishes and 1 noodles was plenty for a couple to share.

I went with a previous customer and they knew exactly where it was because the map did not help at all! The food was great and we did end up ordering too much because I wanted to try everything. We ordered the twin pot that has a spicy broth and the neutral broth, the spicy one was amazing until I just couldn't handle the heat anymore! Half way I just used the other broth. The lotus was cut too thick for me so didn't like the texture and I recommend getting the bean vermicelli which are like glass noodles.

This particular restaurant is tucked away somewhere in Deira very close to Al Maktoum Hospital. It will take sometime for you to reach there as it is located in one of the narrow lanes of Al Rigga.

The food here is quite decent but in terms of the services would say not up to the mark. We actually found one of the servers shouting at some one in the kitchen.

We chose the spicy hotpot bowl along with chicken breast, spinach and crab meat ball. The spicy hotpot contained too many of spices which was quite annoying and almost spoilt our taste of the soup. But the chicken breast served were fresh and so we enjoyed it thoroughly as we dipped into the soup bowl and then mixed with sauces.

Just to inform you all that they have quite a variety of sauces and hence, we enjoyed our boiled dishes mixing the sauces.

Total bill for two people came around AED 103/- which is comparatively equal to other hotpot restaurants in Dubai.

Next time, if we do visit, we will order the less spicy one hoping that it will contain less of the irritating spices.

Worth a visit if you are craving for traditional hotpot and in the same vicinity.
I KNOW MY FOOD
Chongqing Liuyishou is one of China most successful and reputed restaurant chains with over 400 branches all over China and Hong Kong and winner of many awards to its name entered to UAE market with this first branch.

As by name it is evident that restaurant specialized in hot pot hence every single tables are equipped with hot plate at center of table to facilitate cooking (see picture). This restaurant has capacity to accommodate big numbers of people within ground & first floor as well. They offer seating for 2 or 4 person & big round table to accommodate 6-8 as well.

We had chance to try their Shabu-shabu hot pot. Shabu Shabu ranks as one of the best yet little known cuisines of China. The authentic hot pot experience is a must have for lovers of Chinese cuisine. The shabu-shabu special lets you broil pieces of thinly sliced meats & seafood served with signature soup base and veggie platters. It includes beef slices, fish Hammour fillet, squid balls, fresh bean curd or tofu, seaweeds, spinach, lettuce, Chinese cabbage, handmade dumplings with choice of hot pot simmers Spicy or savory herb broth or both.

The hot pot special also comes with a full variety of authentic Chinese condiments to complement your meal & option to select ingredients for making your own sauce.

Soup was yummy and sauce was just out of world. Never has such delicious hot pot ever before & recommend to try for sure. Here they do not provide any big bowl where you transfer cooked food together with soup to eat instead small saucers for soup & sauce, you pick your cooked food from hot pot dip in sauce and eat. Similarly the soup needs to be transfer to saucer from hot pot.

Initially I surprise that such big chain why opted to start in old Dubai area instead of new Dubai side like marina, Business bay area etc. But by witnessing the large no of visitor all of them fellow countrymen to this place endorses that they did good market survey choosing this place as we were only the non-Chinese at that particular dinner time and just one non-Chinese staff for service.
