I can’t praise this place enough. First time dined it and I swear fell in love with the food it is so delicious I don’t know how to describe best way possible. Loved their live bulgogi beef bbq and kimchi fried rice , salmon sushi , OKONOMIYAKI also the seafood gyoza. We had the sweetest and the most admireable person serving us named KEVIN he was honestly so good changed the pork into beef for the okonomiyaki and made our beef bbq to the perfection. Thank you and we will come back.

It was our 2 time and it was excellent..especially Jin was serving us and she really was just great..the way she helped by choosing the menu and cuting the cuts was amazing...its is one of the best korean barbeque in dubai and surly we will visit again

Located in Asiana hotel, Muraqqabat, 'Sonamu' is a Korean restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. We had ordered a Sushi set, 5 types skewers, Stir fried baby octopus with noodles and Stir fried pork belly and intestine.
The quantity of food served in one dish was good for two and was pocket friendly. The complimentary seafood salad and condiments such as kimchi were refreshing and tasty. The highlight of the meal was the pork dish which was a treat on the tastebuds. The octopus was a bit too chewy, but all in all it was a hearty meal, well enjoyed by all of us.
Food and ambiance is really nice. Service is excellent. Hats off to ms. Jin for making our experience wonderful!

The food came out fairly quickly with our waiter / chef cooking and explaining what the cuts of meat were and what side they paired with best. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Food was super delicious(esp the kimchi soup and the beef was superb it is soo soft! ) ambience is cozy and what makes our dinner awesome is the great service that we got from Ate Jin from Cagayan De Oro .😜👏🏻 She took care of our needs and catered us very well. Have you ever considered trying Korean Cuisine? My niece is a big fan of Korean famous Bank BTS and due to her love for BTS she got into knowing Korean cuisine. She recommended us to try and find some authentic best Korean restaurant in Dubai. We started our research and eventually found out Sonamu. Why Sonamu? Because James (The Head Chef) has served the VIPs of Korea and definitely he is no joke.
This was our first ever expereince of Korean food and before I go into detail of food I must tell you after Thai, Korean cuisine has become one of my favourite due to their unique cooking techniques.
We started of with Starters like Salmon Salad, Tofu with Kimchi, kimbap (Korean Sushi). Every thing served really had those flavors which we needed to understand the true culture of Korea. Then we moved to mains where we tried Black Cod which was just perfect, the Tkeokbokki which was good but it was difficult for us to chew rice cake and finally the show stopper which we were waiting for the whole night 'The famous Korean Bbq'. We are not joking when we tell you that their Korean BBQ was the most delicious bbq I ever had, their beef briskets were simply amazing and we would want to have it over and over again.
We would definitely rate it a 5 star based on their tasty and high quality food with the true flavours of Korea, the vibrant ambiance and friendly people serving you.
Staffs were really courteous, especially Miss Jin she's very accommodating. The foods were really great and delicious. And lastly, the service - two thumbs up!

So happy that the restaurant re-opened ! Great place for a group diner with the lower seated table and bbq grill plate. Like before confinement, the place is great. Refill of side dishes (super tasty kimchi and other types), bbq meat is great, kimchi fried rice amazing, cold noodles too.. we also took the seafood pancake and it was great ! Our waiter Kevin was super nice, funny and the service was smooth and fast.

Tried this outlet the first time with a friend and was not disappointed. It seemed limited variety for buffet eaters but for me it was right amount and complementing options. There's nothing we tried that we didn't like. It was worth every dirhams, especially the service of Reby and Yuki. They allowed us to have our space and yet attentive to our needs. I look forward to our next visit with the gang.
Korean food resonates very well with fun nights with friends while grilling meat, gulping down shots of soju and the tastefully sweet makgeolli. The wide array of size dishes are always delightful. I am always on the look out for good Korean food places to try out and that’s how ended up trying Sonamu.
It has a nicely done seating area with tables offering low seating as well as chairs. We ordered the grilled meat, chicken and beef, the Korean fried chicken and jeyukbokkeum which is stir fried pork belly with spicy and sweet flavours.
The K fried chicken deserves a special mention as it’s the best I have had in Dubai so far and the sauce is amazing. The spicy stir fried pork was also very good alongside the broth it was served with. Among the dishes the kimchi sides were nicely done and the best was the pan fried anchovy side.
Would love to visit again and try out other items on the menu.
Started with the amazing cake, as it was a birthday...we got a staycation at Asiana hotel and found this amazing restaurant..its one of the best korean japanese serving restaurants in uae..though being in such a prestigious hotel they still have there employees who are very polite and gracefull..we loved the food served here and the hospitality given.

One of the best korean restaurant in town. Their galbi is definitely a must-try to everyone. Their kimchi really taste so good as well.
We’ve tried their Friday dinner buffet. The selection was good. The grilled beef is a MUST. The ambience is good. The only off for me is the smoke smell inside the restaurant coming from the grilling. But, overall it was a great experience, great food!
A very authentic Korean experience in terms of the menu and ambience. They have a good selection of Korean and Japanese liqeurs as well but their grilled meat is definitely the must try on the menu. You can also enjoy private dining for celebrations in their rooms upstairs which is quite nice.
I can say that we are a regular guests here. Never fail to surprise my tastebuds. If you are looking for an authentic korean restaurant, this is the place. A must try.
I celebrated my birthday lunch here with my family. We ordered the whole BBQ set, seafood jungol and shrimp tempura. All the dishes were good! The beef was tender & juicy plus it matches with the dipping sauces perfectly. The seafood jungol is something that I liked most because of its taste & freshness. The service was excellent. The friendly staff really stand out. What I love about this place is that it has an amazing ambiance that sets the mood into a romantic & positive vibe. Sonamu is certainly a place to go to in Dubai for Korean BBQ! This restaurant is perfect for groups or a date night with your partner. And ofcourse, the complimentary cake was appreciated a lot! Overall, the experience was superb! We will definitely come back for another special occasion to celebrate here!!
Me and my friends are very hungry so we decided to eat here in sonamu resto. We're satisfied actually. The foods are very nice, the staff are good also. The place is very relaxing. We will comeback again here soon.

What a delightful experience. Our first time at a Korean restaurant and it will not be our last. The management and staff were excellent and we felt welcomed immediately. We decided to try the a la carter although they had a very nice looking two restaurant buffet along with the Japanese restaurant next door.
We opted for the bbq set where you cook the meat yourself. The kids enjoyed that experience and the beef was marinated perfectly. They surprised us with a large complimentary steak and some smaller cuts of meat. Very nice touch. The soups, starters and their accompaniments were spectacular. Would highly recommend and visit again. Oh almost forgot. The cost for 4 of us was just under AED 300 which I thought was very very reasonable given everything we had.also try their cinnamon tea (photo included in this review).

Sonamu is a mix of Korean and Chinese cuisine at Asiana Hotel. It is included in the Grand Buffet of 3 restaurants for AED 155.00. You will be greeted by layers of dumplings and a chef that carves the Peking duck. Walking further inside the restaurant, be ready to be amazed by its amazing interior that is also a mix of Korean and Chinese. You will also see some pasta and stir fry dishes. On the left, is a counter with a line of unique and interesting salads. Inside the counter they have a live cooking station of Korean Food.

Kimchi soup, Jae yuk bok um and side dishes are all good. It's almost similar as local korean food. The meat in the soup is enough to enjoy. Jae yuk bok um is little bit spicy(delicious spicy). Atmosphere is quiet and very traditional and modern korean style.
