Heard about this from Instagram bloggers and radio ads, wanted to try it out. Went in for lunch on Friday to taste their Kalyana Sapaadu. It was an overall good experience. The food was tasty, fresh and well cooked. If I may point out a disappointment- it was the presentation - I would have liked the food to be served on plantain leaf and not on a plate. Another disappointment was the price of the lunch - for the number of items served, this was bit costly. Nevertheless as mentioned before the food was tasty and fresh. Enjoyed the meal thoroughly and came back home for a nice weekend mid day nap 😃.

Kalyana meals with thambula was really nice gesture to understand the tradition of South Indian marriage for kids outside INDIA.
Ordered kalyana sappadu.it was simply superb. Very authentic. No excess oil. Felt like we really were in a wedding! Really worth the money.
Softest idlies I've had in Dubai. Overjoyed by the personalized service and food. Extremely unique menu and will have you coming back for more! Can't wait to taste their Muhurtam feast!

Super Super Menu Today (11.09.2020) . Yummy dishes 😁
Keep the Feast Going on. Regular basis !!
Loved their food... Went for breakfast... Definitely a must try for tamil people.. Got my zomato pro discount as well..!
It's a cosy cafe in Old Dubai and I went in for dinner last week with my parents. My dad literally said 'BEST MASALA DOSA I EVER HAD' and that is saying something! We tried the Masala Dosa, Chilli Uttapam, Rawa Khichdi and some South Indian style Jalebis. They have got the flavors spot on for every single dish we tried and we can't wait to go back.
The staff was super friendly and attentive. The menu includes North Indian options as well for those who don't want only South Indian options. During Covid, they also have launched a Chennai wedding feast menu which includes a buffet of dishes that you just can't stop eating. And I think the best part is the prices! They are so competitive and not something you find easily in Dubai.
Amazing food.. homely taste and warm smiles of waiters made it a perfect experience of tasting the south indian delicacy.!
The chennai feel in every aspect, be it the usher with typical chennai style welcome, the table settings, quality food especially the chutney... the ambiance... the hygiene are excellent. Will become a regular repeat customer
Masala dosa is a must try .. sambar was one of best I ever had .. yummy !!!
Nice Food, ribbon pakoda is good, sweets needs improvements
- Timely delivery
- Good packaging
- Delicious sambhar
- Well priced
Every time I crave for South Indian food this is restaurant has been my go to. Feels like home . I stay in Difc and there’s no Zomato for the most of South Indian restaurants. But my favorite is now delivering and I couldn’t have been more over the moon. I can practically have it every single day and yet not upset my stomach. Their packaging is on point maintaining highest hygiene standards . So if you crave for the fluffiest idli dosa vada and the best sambhar this is restaurant is your savior..
If anyone knows me best, the one thing I absolutely can never have enough of would be Sambhar! I mean as told by my mom this was the stepping stone of my entry into trying out solids as a little tiny destructible baby so that would explain a lot. This year I had planned to go to the birthing place of this fabulous dish myself but with unprecedented times like these like all of our grand plans for the year 2020 this one fell through as well. 😦
Chanced upon this restaurant and must say it is a great find for all South Indian vegetarian food lovers
Ample paid parking is available in front of the restaurant. The restaurant interiors were clean and the service was efficient
The food we tasted are as follows
Plantain Bhaji : The Bhaji was very good and served with chutneys and sambar(4/5)
Medhu vada :The vada was made fresh and tasted delicious ( 4/5)
Ghee roast : Crispy dosa (4/5)
Rava idly :Could have been better (4/5)
Bun porotta : Freshly prepared unlike some of the others who heat an already prepared parrota (4/5)
Adai avial : Did not like the Adai and lacked the taste of authentic Adai ( 2/5)
Kozhukkatai : Decent size bit was not hot ( 3/5)
Wheat halwa : Was a real dampener and did not taste anywhere close to the authentic sweet (1/5)
Recommend the restaurant for South Indian tiffin items
Delicious South Indian Food in Dubai
Excellent hospitality..tasty food..love to have kanchipuram idlys there...
Every time I have done a take away or a dine in has been fantastic authentic South Indian food right balance of spice and flavors with a home ambience safe clean hygienic a great addition to the Indian cuisine options in Dubai
Good Quality and fresh food, perfect place families and friend to have South Indian cuisine. Tried Adai, Dosa, Idly, Sambar Vada, Sweets - all perfect taste. Bhadam Kheer is one of master piece, price is reasonable. I strongly recommend to give a try. one of my favourate for veggieee in Dubai.
A small, well appointed restaurant. Food was very tasty. We tried few south Indian and north Indian items and all are good. Very courteous and attentive staff. Few points could be improved, like the Rava idli was tasty but not hot, bun parotta was served with paneer kurma, for sure it's not the traditional combo
Very delicious food with a variety of dishes truly representative of authentic south indian wedding food. Had the chance to try both the Wedding and Reception feast and enjoyed them both. The both feasts came with many delectable dishes and had multiple items. Also liked the snack packets given with the Reception food. Reminiscent of traditional food I had eaten while living in Chennai. Would eat again!
Place where you can enjoy authentic, tasty and homely South Indian food. Must visit restaurant 👍👍👌👌

We ordered the special menu Tamil wedding meals ( usually lunch) and Tamil wedding reception meals ( usually dinner ) Both were excellent and very authentic. We are missing these in Dubai and T Nagar cafe just fills the gap
Excellent food. Very hygienic and doesn’t upset your stomach at all unlike some restaurants food. Their wedding lunch and reception feast is top notch . Must try for everyone who loves South Indian food !
Amazing place to relish Chennai food.
We ordered for following-

2. Baby corn manchurian- amazing taste.. loaded with babycorn and amazing spices..
3. South indian thali- unlimited rounds of freshly cooked veggies, sambhar and rasam with rice, roti/ puri and papad. Throughly, enjoyed our meals.
4. Nutella dosa- amazing dosa..
Overall a great meal experience.
One of the best places to try cuisine from Tamil Nadu a state from South of India. The name taken from one of the famous cities in Chennai. That is the lifeline of millions of people who live and work in the city. The themed restaurant does justice to the name and they serve really good, feel at home soul food,
Kalayana Virundhu From This Place the ultimate ever had. Lovely way presenting South Indian Marriage Delicacy 😁
Worth a Try . Typical South Indian Feast !
Feedback on their traditional Kalyana Virundhu. This traditional virundhu has taken me back to my hometown days. Felt like I attended a marriage function. Enjoyed every single thing from the menu. Perfect quality vegetarian meal with healthy varieties. Value for money. Meal included white rice, chapati with chickpeas kurma, Sambar, rasam, vathal kuzhambu, more kuzhambu, porial, thayir vadai, thuvaiyal, parupu podi with ghee, pappad, tamarind rice, juice, sweet, yogurt, pickle, snacks and mint mango (sorry if I've missed any item). Came with the perfect presentation and I really missed to click the picture. Can't wait to order this meal again.
Our second visit. Good service and attentive staff. Podi idli is one of the best in town. Pongal is excellent, no dripping oil or ghee. Perfect consistency and less peppercorns. Filter coffee could have been better.
Perfect family place, friendly staff and hygienic place. Best South Indian restaurant in Karama. Feedback on their traditional Kalyana Virundhu. One of the best places for South Indian food in Dubai.
Try the breakfast combo, thali, podi idli, special biryani, filter coffee, pongal and masala dosa!
Tastes exactly like the amazing food found in several great restaurants in Tamil Nadu.
Anybody looking for fresh quality food with top class hygiene, it's a must visit. Let it be breakfast items or lunch items all are amazing here. Its truly taste of high class vegetarian. Reminds me of marriage food in chennai. All staff very caring.
Ordered pongal, vada and kesari for breakfast today. The order was delivered home, piping hot. All the items hit the right spot. Liked the colour twist to the second chutney. Beetroot?
May I suggest adding a little chopped onions to the vada batter and get the outer layer bit more crisp?
Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Was frequenting this place everyday until Lockdown, really quality stuff I enjoy the options at TNagar. It's rather packed too a lot people seem to like the food from here
Hospitality, Staffs and Food; all were great.
Ghee Dosa - Excellent by taste and crispy.
Masala Dosa - Good
Medusa Vada - Good
Chutneys & Sambar - Outstanding
Filter Coffee - Excellent
Price wise I would it's way cheaper than many other Veg restaurants.
Very fresh & tasty south indian food, loved the dosa and vada in breakfast. Clean & hygienic as well! And very warm friendly, polite staff to serve! Swami & Neel were excellent.
Highly recommended!
Their Mini Idly and coriander soup was awesome.
Their Puris are awesome!! Hot Vada with variety of chutney tempts the taste bud...goes well with their sugar free tea...a good joint for a lazy afternoon!!
I am a regular to this place. Their south Indian food is good. They serve good quality food and i love their special emphasis on hygiene. If you are looking for healthy south indian fare at affordable prices, you won't be disappointed.
Awesome experience if your are in search for an authentic TN food. Their dosa or lunch menu are very traditional, reminds one of food back in TN.
Ample parking, customer service is excellent, food is very reasonably priced.
Great humble restaurant. Good menu offering. Sambar did not expect to be too garlicy, neat and humble staff service is good. Chutney is amazing. Well done. Keep it up please.
New South Indian food joint in Karama. The place is divided among two shops, makes it confusing where would you go and sit and delays the service a bit. However the food quality is fine and you can surely enjoy dosa, vadas and filter coffees at this tamil food joint. Service is OK, can be improved.
Great food. New place with fantastic South Indian food.
The kuttu paratha was best I have every had.
Tnagar Café is a newly opened, 100% vegetarian Tamilian restaurant in Karama. Every single one of their seventeen staff members have recently flown in from some part of Tamil Nadu – Vaṇakkam! My special thanks to @abu.curly for flagging this hidden gem. Located a few doors down from the original Tamarind Terrace on 7B Street in Karama, Tnagar is more restaurant than café and is split in two by a small eatery called Urban Fusion. Those familiar with that part of Karama will know that there is plenty of RTA parking available. An added bonus for people seeking to enjoy Dubai’s winter weather is that Tnagar has set up an outdoor dining where I had my din-dins.
