PUTTU BEEF COMPO و POROTTA CHILLY CHICKEN compo ،

Good place for authentic Kerala food everything was delicious but netholi pepper fry was very expensive even though they used frozen netholi as confessed by staff!(charged Aed 23 for hardly 8 pcs!!!)

It's a mid-range restaurant, the food is good but the price is comparatively a little high! That's why I don't go there regularly. <br/><br/>One thing I have noticed there if I go there with a friend and order two tea, one with sugar and another without, then they will not bring it together! We will have to wait five minutes for another tea, by the time the first one will get cold.

Awesome place , most amazingly they serve food in banana leaves and along with serving food serving its rich culture as well.. the flavours were completely Authentic and prices are reasonable. Good in taste...

We placed an order for Paneer masala and the dish was full of oil, it was informed to the waiter and cashier and they were saying that paneer masala is used to be the same. They were not willing to change the dish even after complaint. After eating a small portion and reaching home, we started vomiting. This was really disgusting and horrible experience.<br/>I will never recommend anyone for this restaurant.

They have the best Nadan Chaya and evening snacks. I usually go there for dinner as its very affordable, great taste and value for money, Hot Cheratta Puttu and Egg curry, Thattu dosa and beef curry these are some of my favorites. There lunch is also pretty good.
SW
The snacks are really worth satisfying the malayali taste buds. Also their other main course combos are nice. Im a tea person. Mostly sulaimani. Often have 'paalchaya' (normal milk chai) coz i dont like tea everywhere. Here it seems really nice even on a grab and go time . Worth a try or more in Dubai.

Couple of weeks back i have tried their ghee rice combo with beef curry.!! This was good. Worth for the price.!! So, having high expectations, we have visited the restaurant for a lunch. Tried their ila oonu..!! It was just ok 🙂..!! But still they got the taste.!!

Awesome place, most amazingly it serves food in banana leaves and along with serving food serving its rich culture as well.. the flavors were completely authentic , price were highly reasonable and when when it comes to portion size one can always ask for more !! Free of cost .. ( except few of the items) from the set menu.. good and keep it up!!

Hello foodies,<br/><br/>Visited kadavu few time, recent was yesterday for dinner, nice food, typical Kerala food, but very tasty.<br/>Food ordered-<br/>Chicken soup two different type..( one with pepper and one with coconut milk) it was difficult in pronouncing as the name were in malyalam!!! But both soup were so yummy I loved it<br/>Beef kothu parata, wheat parata, appam, checked stew, chicken kadavu roast,<br/>Everything was good in taste and quantity.<br/><br/>Ambience- spacious, clean, neat and lights are good, interior is nice<br/>Staff- nice and friendly, but even if we speak in English they reply in malyalam, so it's bit difficult to understand for nonkeralite, I suggest depends on the customer staff should speak for their better understanding.<br/>Budget- Cost-effective<br/><br/>Overall it's a nice place.<br/>Thanks !

#Horrible staff#Kadavu : I am giving this rating only because of that one guy who spoiled our dinner last night. He doesn’t have any manners and doesn’t know how to behave to customers especially to ladies. I would mention if I know his name but unfortunately I wouldn’t know. Will never ever recommend this restaurant to all those who knows us and who we knows.

Craving for a typical kerala meals we were looking for a place we didnt try and we were here. I had the fish curry meals while my friend chose the veg meals . The service was excellent . I loved the fish curry meals , the fish curry was amazing and the rest of the side dishes too. My friend wasnt too impressed with the veg meals as she felt it was nothing exceptional and was just average . Super reasonably priced and excellent service this is the highlight of the place . Food can get better !

What i liked about kadavu was the local tea stall look inside the hotel. Reminded me of bus stand tea stalls in kerala. There was good variety of kerala snacks available. I ordered the chicken biryani which tasted avg and price at 14 aed excluding vat is ok ok... Some items on the menu especially combo offers were very attractively priced. Overall decent food, avg pricing.

I previously did not go to this restaurant because of the low ratings on Zomato but boy, was I wrong. The sadya/meals were so delicious; I absolutely loved all the curries! Beef fry was okay- I have had better. Chicken biryani over here is also delicious. Drop in if you are craving for authentic Kerala nadan food and please don't be concerned about the ratings. I think most people who have dined from here just don't have a Zomato account. This is the best Malayali restaurant I've been to outside Kerala.. highly recommended!

Had ordered Puttu - a Keralite staple food. Such a bad taste. And was wondering how one can get steamed wheat flour wrong . <br/><br/>The glasses and the bottle of water served was so dirty, just couldn’t drink a bottled water. Much to do with the cleanliness of the staff.<br/><br/>However the biriyani and Porotta ordered were ok.
Favas Sidhik
Their online order delivery service is really poor, i ordered a dish which is there in their zomato orders menu and they accepted order, then after sometime informed that dish is only available on fridays, then why they included that dish in other days menu? Ok ignore i was hungry and ordered chicken dum biriyani as per the zomato orders ot will deliver by 2:30 pm but it got delivered by 3, when i open the whole packet is destroyed and the food is out of the box, i informed the restaurant and they agreed to send again, this time instead of chicken dum biriyani they sent biriyani rice with some fried chicken curry mixed in it, may be they have excuses, our biriyani is like this, sorry guys this is not the first time i ate your biriyani and if you call this as dum biriyani, i just need to say don’t try to cheat customers especially keralites who knows how good the real dum biriyani is

Today I went to Kadavu Restaurant along with my friends which is located near Lulu Hypermarket Karama. We ordered Mutton Varattiyathi, Kadavath Chicken Roast, Chicken Pulav Rice, Chiratta Wheat Puttu, Kerala Parathas, Nadan Tea and Lemon Tea. Kadavu Restaurant is a authentic Kerala restaurant and I have listened to many people saying that the food is good, and not it has disappointed me. All the dishes which we ordered were really good and it was yummy. We went there at 12.00 am and there was no place to sit. It was jam-packed and we had to wait. Even though it is jam-packed, the staff here are very courteous and very cool and are giving good service with a smile in thier face, which I liked the most. I will surely go there and try other items there. This is the perfect place if you are craving for Kerala food.<br/>Taste 4/5<br/>Ambience 4.5/5<br/>Service 4/5<br/>Value for money 3.5/5

It is a grave concern, when one of the restaurants you frequent and gave a good review in the past, serves you questionable food. My suspicion of the snacks being a little off with the first bite into the dal vada, was soon confirmed by the spoiled oil ridden banana fry, which I had to spit out.<br/><br/>Being very hungry, I brushed the spoilt snacks aside and ordered a couple of porottas and a beef pepper fry. While the porottas maintained their usual flaky goodness, the beef pepper fry was a huge let down. There was enough oil in that shoddily prepared plate of beef fry, to terrify you into a cardiac arrest.<br/><br/>I abandoned the food just after a few bites, out of concern for my stomach. The only saving grace of the meal was the tea and porottas.<br/><br/>While I dont expect high class food at this price point, the management has to atleast ensure that, they don't serve their customers spoilt, shitty food.<br/><br/>And also, I dont undertand this new practice of the cashiers rounding up the card payments, since Jan 1st, 2018 on top of the VAT you are collecting from us.<br/><br/>If you would like to sneakily collect the transaction charges from the customers, do it with honor, by including it in your bill.<br/>

Tried the Chicken Tsunami because the name sounded pretty interesting and it turned out to be a good pick. Really liked the Masala it was cooked in but what was disappointing was the chicken was a bit overcooked. Hopefully that isn't the case next time.

Kadavu looks like s an ambience of creating Kerala style old chayakada interior, it's spacious, also staffs were friendly and Parking your get nearby, but food is a average not up to the mark and have a bad experience during my recent visit, they failed to maintain the quality. Kulluki sarbat drink is waste made item which I personally feel improvements....

Kadavu is one of those joints that is immune to negative Zomato ratings, because a big chunk of their customers aren't a lot of Zomato users but appreciate their offered quantity and affordable prices - disregarding the other factors of their experience... And hence they come back here time and again.<br/><br/>I've been skeptical of trying this place because it's barely hundred meters from where I live and I know for a fact that it's generally crowded despite its plain ambience. We ate their Sadhya here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and for AED 10 per Sadhya its a steal! Especially because it's unlimited! One may choose to have Fish Curry or Sambar over their rice, but apart from that they place 7-8 items in your banana leaf and you're good to go! 👍🏼 We also ordered a Squid Fry and a Chicken 65 (dry)... Both had basic masala and tasted very average.<br/><br/>But then again, for their price its actually a very good deal! If you're looking for some good Sadhya at a very reasonable price and don't mind the ambience, crowd and other factors... Kadavu is the place to try!

The best Samovar Tea and Kerala Snacks in Karama. They have almost all Kerala Tea Time Snacks. Tried 3 times but the taste is consistent, especially the Tea. The Onion vada, Chicken cutlet and Nadan cakes are must try.

I had previously visited this restaurant two times and the service was average. This time it all went too low that we had to leave the restaurant without having food. There is only one waiter in the family area and when we ask them why food is getting delayed the reply was surprising. "Food will be delayed if you want speedy service go to the other area". Not sure how long will.they go with such an attitude, it's not about a particular person I am talking in general. <br/><br/>Customer service 0/5<br/>Food Quality (we didn't had food)<br/>Ambience 1/5<br/>Overall 1/5<br/>

On the way to Lulu for grocery shopping, we happened to make a quick stop over at Kadavu for a cup of tea and then dinner happened .😁<br/>I was intrigued by the way they had utilised the available space inside. A thattukada (roadside cart selling delicious food) stood in the middle with samavar tea, naaranga mittai, then mittai and other candies and pickles seen in small eateries in Kerala with the family room on its other side. There were even banana bunches hanging from the thattukada. They sure were trying hard to bring the authentic Kerala feel to the restaurant. But it did stand out from the rest of the naadan Kerala spots in some way.<br/>The staff came in quick and were light on their feet. We had a quick chat and understood that the staffs had a lot of experience in handling crowds at small eateries in Kerala. They were friendly and recommended the 'Fish muringakol curry' . But I decided to have something else. Finally ordered:<br/>* Chicken chaps curry : 4/5 ( The chicken was well-marinated and had the authentic taste of spices to it)<br/>* Chicken roast : 3/5 ( It was a bit too spicy for me eventhough less spice was mentioned)<br/>* Pathiri : 3.5/5<br/>* Porotta : 2.5/5<br/>* Pathal : 2/5 ( Was dry and did not taste like a pathal!)<br/>* Naadan tea : 2.5/5 ( Had the overboiled , reused-many-times taste to it)<br/>On another occasion, ordered :<br/>*Fish muringakol curry (Sherry) : 2.5/5 (was ok. Not as great as hyped by the staff)<br/>*Beef fry : 3.8/5 ( The beef was very flavourful and cooked to perfection)<br/>* Prawn biryani : 3.5/5 ( Surprisingly had a lot of prawn pieces in it. The biryani was not bad at all. )<br/>* Beef biryani: 3.5/5 ( The masala was a bit spicy. But tasted good)<br/>* Mutton biryani: 3.2/5 ( The mutton pieces were too less. Bones were more than the meat. The rice and masala weren't bad.)<br/>Not an unforgettable experience, but a go-to spot when you want to try out Kerala food.<br/>*Food : 3/5<br/>* Service : 3.5/5<br/>* Ambience : 3/5 ( a small ,normal place but liked the organisation of the limited space)<br/><br/>

A small watering hole with great food, perfect competition to the established biggies in the malabar cuisine category.<br/>To be honest been having a disastrous week with restaurants, almost egged towards honing my own culinary skills, and then KADAVU happened....<br/>Fish Moli and wheat paratha... simple choice but worth the taste to my dead palette, thanks to some upmarket Chinese restaurant...<br/>Would definitely recommend the place for their seafood fare...<br/><br/>Keeping my fingers crossed to have the same experience during my next visit.... feeling optimistic about it.

A decent South Indian joint with typical offerings of veg & non-veg dishes. The food is of good quality & taste. Soups, Gravies and dry meat starters were all tasty & good quantity totally justifying the very competitive price. We tried Manchow soup which was tangy & spicy. Beef Coconut fry had the typical kerala flavours. Chicken gravy was wholesome and served over a cute candle stand to keep it warm. The fresh appams get ready in the open kitchen. wheat parathas too were soft. Chapati were a disappointment.<br/>Seating space & interiors are average. The feel is between a cafeteria and family restaurant.<br/>Overall a good joint to try out when around Lulu for a reasonable & tasty south indian fare.

This is a humble space but authentic. if you want a feel of naadan chaya, puttu with mathi curry...then go to this place. i have tried their specials too, which is also appreciable. The lunch is exceptional with the number of curries it includes and the price.<br/>Good and fair space for families has been allocated here. <br/>A bit of service and cleanness has to be improved, which eventually hope they are trying to improve.<br/><br/>overall it is a definite try and a pocket friendly option too.

very upset with todays delivery. called for home delivery and asked for vegetable biriyani. it was not available and while checking for vegetable curries, they informed veg kuruma and black chenna was available. i chose black chenna. asked for porota and they confirmed they have both maida porota and wheat porota, i chose wheat porota. delivery took more time than usual and finally when the it came, it was veg kuruma and maida porota against what i had ordered. the veg kuruma was like a yellow curry with some cooked vegetables in it, so light gravy with lot of oil and base was coconut milk and flat taste. porota was half cooked as well inspite of specifying to make it crisp. poor service and totally disappointed.

I was with my family along with some guests but left the restaurant without having the food. This is because of their poor and pathetic customer service. The tables were simply wiped and it had the wet smudges of food remaining on them. Even after asking the waiter to get it cleaned he didn't bother to do so and to add to this while spreading the paper mat on the table, one of the paper slipped and fell on the dirty floor. The waiter, without any hesitation just picked the same paper and placed it on the table.<br/>Seeing this I didn't wait there another second. If these guys has the audacity to do so in front of the customer, then who knows what they will be doing inside the kitchen. Probably the municipality must pay a surprise visit to them.

I am a regular customer of Kadavu restaurant. Yesterday, I went there for lunch. Saturday lunch is a special one and I just wanted to try it out. I highly recommend this meal to anyone who loves traditional Kerala food. I felt like having a proper sadhya. Great choice of curries and excellent taste for just AED 10. Value for money deal!

Went here today with colleagues for onam sadhya ( onam meals). A maveli with traditional costumes greeted us with onam greetings. <br/><br/>The sadhya was good. There was around 20 items in leaf. Some of them were average, some were good. But I disappointed with aviyal. Payasam was avergae. But definitely not a bad experience.<br/><br/>The service was little bit negative, parippu the first item to be served with meals, they gave last. Other things all are fine. Rates was also economy.

Its almost 3 experience with the restaurant... first time me and my Rommmate visited the place ... we ordered biryani, beef fry , chicken chatty curry , wheat roti....nice ambience, delicious food it was nice experience we enjoyed a lot with friendly staff and food service...<br/><br/>Second experience we order food to our house same biryani and beef fry... sajeesh took the order for chicken dum biryani... but when order came it was chicken fry biryani... when asked about the same why order got change the answer gave us a shock.."sir dum chicken biryani got over" so change of order without informing us...chicken fry biryani was pathetic....<br/><br/>Third experience with very nice first experience we had courage to order food for third time hoping this time they will maintain the quality given to us for the first time... We order dum biryani and beef fry... when order came everything was in place we were happy... than we started eating it ruined everything. .. beef fry masala was uncooked..It was like raw masala with boiled beef...when we enquired by calling back ... sajeesh picked the call we complaint that beef masala being uncooked..reply was "I have also tasted masala is uncooked but it is ok" next time we will give good"<br/><br/>First exprience build a lot of expectation but it's not worth ordering second time...<br/>"No consistency"

Excellent fish curry lunch for just 9AED! The fry is awesome. The kind of separate fish Fry's you buy is given along with the lunch. The number of curries are a little less but that is not a problem at all due to the tasty fish fry. I had lunch twice. Once I got a Mackarel Fry in Pepper which was excellent and the other day, a tasy King fish!<br/><br/>Good value for money.<br/><br/>Recommended.

Went there for a birthday treat. <br/>The place looks good but the food isn't promising.<br/><br/>We ordered "Appam" and a variety of currries that included Chicken curry, fish curry.<br/>I rate it average. Nothing above it.<br/><br/>Beef fry was tasty.<br/><br/>The most disappointing was the fish which tasted extremely raw.<br/><br/>The only thing I liked about the place was their live tea station, which was an almost perfect depiction of a 'thatukada' in Kerala.

One of my favorite Breakfast joint! We liked their Porotta & Egg roast, Dosa varieties, Nadan Chaya(Samovar tea) etc. But the quality is getting dropped day by day. Today I had Plain dosa and my friend ordered Porotta & Egg roast. First served a cold Porotta and the waiter took back on request. The plain Dosa became 'small' and as ususal the white chutney is not made with pure coconut, so avoided the same, the red chutney is amazing and the taste and spiciness of sambar keeps on changing everyday. after 10 minutes delivered the fresh porotta, but the Egg roast became different today, less spicy and colour also not black as we got before. The tea also become below average as the karak effect increased, milk and sugar decreased... do we need to rethink?

One of my friend took me to the restaurant with quite words about the restaurant food. This is one of the very few authentic Malabar restaurant I have been to ! <br/><br/>The ambience of the restaurant has been nicely done and the feeling which you get around the cash counter is good, something different and takes you back to the olden days. Good work on that and my sincere appreciation. We were welcomed with a welcome drink and I was impressed, it was like being at big place. The food which is reasonably priced could have been better as I was not impressed with the taste and taste at small cafeteria is sometimes better.<br/><br/>The service needs lot of improvement as was slow and some of the serving staff needs training on serving etiquettes. The overall experience was not that great and not sure if I will ever go again as located not that close to my home and only may be, my friend takes me again.

I don't know where to start with, I don't usually open my complaint box when I write reviews for restaurants, <br/>But here I have to<br/>We parked at Lulu for shopping and after we finished we should have chosen any other place to dine,<br/>Anyway we ended up here, everything was ok, until the welcome drink arrived, friendly staff for sure.<br/><br/>Chikkos juice was served as welcome drink, there was drops and color of Chikko but it was water and it was bland, total fail, unable to drink it more than 2 sips<br/><br/>Food we ordered - Mango fish curry, Aapam, Wheat Parotta, Sheri fry and Samovar tea to end it<br/><br/>Only Fish curry was awesome, we loved it for sure, rest all was a total fail, even tea was fail<br/><br/>Aapam was not hot and was not well cooked<br/>Wheat Parotta was just ok<br/>Sheri fry was just like eating rubber block with salt and masala - Big fail<br/><br/>Will not visit again <br/><br/>Also towards the entrance of family area, there were too many men standing (I don't know for what), blocking the way of families entering and exiting. <br/>They were just standing there and talking<br/><br/>Forgot to mention - very cost effective, not at all expensive, only 46 AED

Good food, friendly staff and fast service.. When you stumble upon a restaurant, starving.. Thats everything u need! We had the Vishu sadya and chicken biriyani, both were devoured. The ambience is nothing fancy. Very simple and to the point. <br/><br/>Food - 4<br/>Drinks - 4<br/>Ambience - 2.5

Was a bit surprised to see the videos of the late Jimmy George (Indian National Volley ball player) being played at this restaurant.<br/>Been twice to this restaurant already. The tea is outstanding! I liked the Puri Bhaji. The egg curry had a strong red chilli taste. I guess the red chilli needed to be a little more cooked into the gravy. Was quite spicy. This can be moderated for sure. For the Appam - Egg Masala, the appam was just fine. The Egg masala had the pepper taste standing out a bit ahead of the taste. Can be improved. <br/>The restaurant is done well with the decor of a Kerala village tea shop. Like the chair and tea table in front of the restaurant, where there is also a local Malayalam daily to read, if you prefer to have your tea seated outside the restaurant. <br/>Liked the poster of Devasooram below the tea shop!!<br/>The ginger candy & other savories at the cash counter are unique and quite nostalgic to the past. The price is quite cheap and much below what you will expect the bill to be.<br/><br/>Recommended for 1 experience to try for sure.<br/><br/>Cheers,<br/>Anoopz

We tried their biryanis on Fridays. Very good. Not spicy nor oily. Subtle flavored. Just perfect. They are liberal with extra biryanis rice if you want. Fish fry too is great. Overall great keralite cuisine. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

The worst possible.... Gave order for come and collect parcel.. After an hour when I went there, the guy said it's almost done... And then I saw him tell the cook my order and asking him to quickly start out eh order .. Had to wait for another hour.. And the food was burnt as well as too little, about less than half the normal container .. They say it's south indian food?? I wouldn't even recommend it for the dogs.. The taste is disappointing and has very poor service... I recommend it to NOBODY

Worst worst Ever, Period!!!. I gave it a chance. Delivery took 1.5 hrs when it was literally next door. The guy on the call is lying through his teeth. Food was soggy when arrived. Gave it a chance and they just blew it big time. And definitely not worth the wait... Dear Kadavu Management, u guys really need a revamp at your front desk....

Made few visits to Kadavu; gives a good feel. <br/>Something new is always exciting. The overall appearance and arrangements are good, especially the thattukada.<br/>Tried some of the dishes and here are my top recommendations;<br/>Chicken Tsunami, Kadavathu chicken curry, Aripathiri, Thattudosa.<br/>They are offering Horlicks here, try it out.<br/>Nadan tea seems ok, but order for light tea.<br/>Overall a pocket friendly hotel with some tasty dishes.

Very pocket friendly and authentic kerala food restaurant. Food is tasty and we can bravely try any dishes since the price is cheap. Very friendly staff and loved the ambiance. My favourite dish so far is chicken mappas.

Saw this place purely by chance and turned out to be a good find. Food is prepared with delicate amount of spices and oil. Not like the usual overdose of oil and chillies in kerala restaurants. Price is damn cheap for the quality and ambience. We ordered karimeen pollichatu and chicken curry all well done. May not be preferred by people looking for extra spicy food.

We were hungry after doing weekend grocery shopping and decided to try Kadavu which was conveniently close. The place is a typical Keralite joint resplendent with hanging bananas. The feel is more of a cafeteria than restaurant. Mostly bachelors eating outside and seperate decent sized family room. They served some chilled welcome drink which was quire refreshing (reminded me of Mano Panna). Tried their Chicken Pepper soup (traditional Malabar) which was quite nice will flavours of ginger, onions and curry leaves. Chicken was quite less and too many curry leaves. Quantity could be increased. The Veg Manchurian (starters) was pretty good but very oily. We ordered for Malabar Veg Curry whuch was a dissapointment. The wheat parottas had already started getting hard. The Chicken Dum biryani was horrible. It was way too oily and tasted sweet. Yes; sweet. When I checked with the Ordertaker, he blamed the Pakistani onions used which were sweet. Please avoid this dish. To wash down the excess hot, ordered Nadan Tea made with fresh milk which was delicious and just the perfect finish to an unsatisfactory meal. Ambience is ok if you are fine with Malayam music. Staff were non intrusive and polite. Above rating is only for their Soup and Tea. If I had to rate the Biryani only would have rated it a negative 10.

I ask myself. Why did I ever visit this restaurant!!!! Such a horrible experience. Food is tasteless... Either too spicy or not enough salt. Cleanliness.... I don't think the management has ever heard of it. Customer service is zero.... I have experienced better service at cafeterias. Never ever would I visit this place again.

Just a place to get cheap Kerala food very quickly and also it's right next to my house. It's just an okay Malayali restaurant and nothing much special to offer. I would prefer going to ustad hotel over this restaurant which is in the same locality even though it's a bit more pricier than kadavu.

Tried Fish Masala and Egg Masala (delivered) and the dishes were very tasty. The quantity was good and the price was justified. Delivery was also quick.

Not a bad place at all despite it being placed in a area where have a lot of options. Its very pocket friendly. The food is better than just okay. The service was also good as i visited late night when the crowd was minimum.

Better options available around.... except for the initial flamboyance at the time of inauguration, the restaurants food quality seem to have deteriorated tremendously. I have visited the place periodically from day 1 and have noticed changes in menu, and their decreasing quality standards. the servers have no clue about the dishes in the menu nor have any capabilities for suggesting a good dish. beef coconut dry fry was atrocious and badly burnt, the biriyani seem to be just two pieces of deep fried chicken buried in ghee rice. no masala whatsoever. And for most of the curry's they seem to be mixing boiled chicken with the curry the very last minute hence the masala and the chicken tend to taste differently, to a point I felt like eating raw chicken. By the experiences acquired from 9 visits to the restaurant in the past, I am pretty sure there won't be a 10th.. only good curry I felt having there was chicken cheriyulli varattu which again wasn't consistent when it comes to texture and taste and hence don't deserve my recommendation... puyapla restaurant, wide range, malabar express are other better options available around
