So if anyone is thinking you are getting a great deal with your entertainer or Zomato gold - think again. Pretty much every restaurant that accepts Zomato gold or entertainer have essentially increased their menu prices or reduced the qty and essentially fool us into thinking we are getting a great deal - you are not. You are getting the same thing, just that you pay a subscription to entertainer or Zomato gold and now there are everyone (Hala kiwi, smiles etc) offering - which essentially makes people like me want to not pay the full price and ask for a discount on my bill
Coming back to the food - we had the mix grill and did they have a juicy kebabs with the right flavor. Just awesome ... service is quick and they had 2 sections completely separated for shisha and non shisha - which works out well for non shisha diners as well. Other than the fact that their pricing is entertainer/Zomato gold friendly (don’t blame them for it) I am definitely coming back for more

We had lunch buffet yesterday at this restaurant and loved it. Lovely Ambiance .. super clean restaurant! Courteous staff! Loved the salad bar and lentil soup. Bbq platter was awesome soft n juicy meat n chicken pieces and kabab just cooked to perfection. Wails love to come back again

What makes this restaurant so good is that it’s run by an Iranian couple who ensure that the authenticity of the cuisine and quality of the ingredients is present in every bite. The small scale operation style gives the restaurant and the food it serves a sense of homegrown hospitality that’s rarely seen in most restaurants.
The portions are generous and the prices are fair, and each dish comes with a hearty complimentary soup.
The only issue we had was that apparently the restaurant has a rule that only one Zomato Gold coupon could be used per table - which as far as I know isn’t in line with the Gold T&C?
If you are in the mood of Iranian Kebab, then this place is a must try for that dish in specific.

I was hungry enough to finish the whole table of food and was looking for some authentic Iranian food. Mix grill was tasty & juicy. I have tried many other kebab restaurants but never tasted so soft n marinated chicken n mutton kebabs. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for non spicy barbQ and dishes like Gheima.
Food was probably the best Iranian food around. Some communication issues with the staff, but got it sorted. Owner/Manager was nice and came to visit.
Today I taste some Iranian food. It was pretty much good . I tried torsh and soltani dish. Taste is so delicious and yummy . Food quality is so good and customer service is excellent. Price is fair enough . They have lots variety in Iranian food

As I started to look for somewhere for dinner in Ibn Batuta Mall, I came across Zaferan and as a fan of Iranian food I wanted to try.
The staff is very sincere since greeting and you feel good as if you are a guest of them. We sat outside as weather was nice.
I ordered 2 main courses and 2 salads for 3 people and they served us complimentary soup which tasted great. I ordered Joojeh zaferani (grilled chicken kebab) and Soltani which is a combination of two kebabs; koobideh and barg. Koobideh was a bit too plain in taste but barg and chicken kebab were really juicy and delicious. Main courses are also served with a huge platter of rice and the kebabs were already big in portion.
After the dinner, I ordered tea and they brought 2 huge pots of black tea and saffron tea to mix.
There was also Zomato gold and I used it smoothly. Last but not the least, it was a very nice gesture that the lady who is the owner of the restaurant passed by our table and checked if everything was fine.
Definitely a place recommended by me!

Pleasant surprise - Walked past this place a few times and it always looks empty. However, the food was really lovely. Especially the meat kebab. Would certainly recommend. One of the better offerings at ibn battuta no doubt.
If you’re looking for authentic Persian dishes this is the right place. Great food served in good proportions in a very good ambiance. Must visit place. 4 stars because they got the order wrong and a bit pricy.

Today i visited zaferan iranian resturant. Every things was 5 star. All staff so friendly and managment was pefect. So clean and takecare about customer. Food so tasty and original one. Hope to come back soon more and more.

Went there a week ago We ate with my colleague at work I’m take baghali rice 🍚 and zerech rice 🍛 the kubedeh kabab it’s was so juicy and we have a lot of fat but The food was very extravagant and the menu had a great variety and the food was good taste and the prices were acceptable and the service was good

The food was served on time, the server visited us twice to ask of all was okay. Seating was ample and spacious. A bit pricey unless you are using Entertainer or an offer. The food was very good and the interior is perfect for a family dinner

I dont think you can go too wrong with Iranian food - especially on the grill side. I decided to give this place a try. Well located in the food court - nice outside seating and a kind owner who comes at your table to advise you on what they have and what she recommends. She advised that with any entree that i would get a soup and salad. The soup and salad were just OK. I ordered the mixed grill for two which had four skewers: one each of Torsh, Tikka Masti, joojeh masti and kubideh. The kubideh and the torsh were fantastic. However the other two tikka masti and joojeh masti were a disappointment. I have tried joojeh masti at many places where in the chicken is tender and very flavorful than what is offered here. I wasnt happy with the quantity either unless you wanna dig into the rice as well. They do have a good shisha deal and i believe its like 50AED for shisha and a drink. Maybe worth a visit once.

Iranian food is very close to my heart. Not only because my bff is Iranian, but because the food exudes a certain type of warmth that you can otherwise only find at home. Zaferan is such. Located in China Garden at Ibn Battuta Mall, Zaferan offers authentic Persian cuisine in a beautiful space. Along with an intimate outdoor seating, they boast of interiors that are airy and uncluttered. But what stands out the most is their green wall decked with florals, giving you a snapshot of a typical street side restaurant in Iran.
I really like Iranian grills .. and i loved their food ... they were really nice and tender ... each portion comes with butter rice ... and this place is a must try ... i really liked their hummus aswell ... you must try it out ...
Zaferan is one of Dubai’s newer Persian-Iranian restaurants. Located in the outdoor courtyard of the China Court in Ibn Battuta Mall (opposite Zaroob), Zaferan’s interior is uncluttered, handsome and modern, and thankfully devoid of any reference to the ancient Persian Empire – thank God. It’s also owned and run by a woman. Why is this important? Because a woman’s touch can make all the difference.
I have tried mostly everything from the menu, and everything is amazing salads, starters, main course and even the teas .. I would recommend trying everything from the menu.. Its just the rice is a bit dry for me and they should add some more saffron in them ..
The only disappointment is the delivery services it took them 1 hour 20 mins and they really need to improve on the delivery.
This place is a must try .. I highly recommed this place

We stumbled upon this nice Iranian restaurant while stepping out of Ibn Battuta Mall and decided to give it a try. The interior looked very neat and so was the outside area where most people were sitting. Hospitality was great from the moment we set foot until we left. A lady, whom I believe to be the owner, walked us through the menu and recommended the bestseller grills to try. We ordered a salad with veg and pomegranate seeds sauce and it was really out of this world. The grills were beyond amazing especially the beefs ones. We were offered complimentary soups and breads as well and the experience was truly amazing. I’m definitely going back very soon.
Was looking for a place to go for lunch that serves shisha as well, ended up going to Zaferan after checking various options online. Quite random but I must say we ended up being quite satisfied & happy with our decision. Good service. Tried the Anar salad, chicken & Joojeh Masti. Good presentation & amazing taste. The portions were quite generous too. Overall, Really liked the ambience & simply loved the shisha (grape with mint) they served. Definitely going back for the shisha!!! 🤩
What we tried @zaferan.ae:
- Complimentary servings - Lentil soup and roti. Lentil soup could do with some more flavour but went well with the roti!
- Kashk Bademjan (starter): An absolutely delighful starter. One of their best! Seasoning was perfect and the nuts topped gave it a crunchy flavourful packed taste😋
- Skewers of kubideh and joojeh masti (main course): Loved these authentic persian tasting kebabs! My heart kept asking for more - theybwere that good😍 The kubideh could go for a little for more seasoning but joojeh masti was amazing!
- Bamieh: An okra stew stew paired with small pieces of lamb making a thick gravy! It came with saffron rice which was undoubtedly really good🤤
- Sholeh zard (dessert): This one tasted really good. The sweetness was balanced and not too much.
All in all - great place, great ambiance, great service and food! .

Was invited for a review for authentic persian and iranian cuisine. It is located in ibn batuta mall, jebel ali village. They have good space indoor and out door. Indoor the interiors are eye catching with few paintings. Its a very relaxed restaurant. And if you are looking to have some quiet and relaxed dinner then head to zaferan. The staff were very hospitable and kind. Full marks for their service. I had noticed that each staff was handling one table at a time which was very good. The ambience is such that it gives you the feeling of being in iran.
We were firstly served Oats soup. Which is their regular seller. It tasted really good.
We were then served 3 types of salad which were their best sellers Anar salad, mirza ghasemi and zaitoon parvardeh. Anar salad was mix of cucumber's , tomatoes, pomegranate and walnut crumble. It was my favourite of the three. Zaitoon parvardeh was zaitoon topped with walnut paste. The paste was soo delectable and it had their special ingredients. Both the salads were on tangy due to the pomegranates. Mirza ghasemi was a paste of their secret receipe and was topped with a small egg.
Moving onto the mains we were served barbeque which were joojeh masti and kubideh. Joojeh masti which meant chicken curd. It was marinated with curd and grilled perfectly. Due to curd it was slightly tangy but tasted luscious Kubideh which meant minced meat was again an hit grill which i loved having.
We were also served 3 types of plain rice. All had zafron in common. Zareshk polo which was zafron rice toped with rasberry, almonds, pistachio. Baghali polo which had zafron and beans and was green in colour and the last was plain white rice zafron added to it. Zareshk was good.
Overall a good place if you are looking to enjoy a different cusine. Its not only for iranian, indian pakistani can also enhoy their magnetic barbeques. I would give it a thumbs up for a try👍👍👍

Lovely place... almost like a homestead restaurant. The owner visited our table twice. The hosts and the servers were pleasant and attentive. Food is delicious and fresh. All meals come with lentil soup and freshly baked bread. We had ordered the Anar salad which was fresh and tangy and the Baghali Polo with lamb shank. The lamb shank was tender and juicy. Generous portions and excellent service puts this restaurant on the must visit list. One of the interesting places to eat at Ibn Battuta.
