They served biryani in seeraga samba rice last time and it was good and this time it was in basmati rice. The mutton biryani looked and tasted old. The inconsistency is something to be worrid upon. Well well !! Lets talk about the hygiene part, the restroom was a mess and definitely not to a restaurants standard at all. Hope the management takes hygiene on priority.

Yes, it is a simple restaurant but for over 7 years now I've been ordering from its 2 branches - dubai marina and discovery gardens and the food is still the same comfort simple food which have seen only minor changes quality and price wise over the years. My staple order here is really a staple and includes amazing flakey maida parathas, aappams, mango fish curry, chicken home curry and hot and sour soup. Needless to say this gets even better when one might be feeling extra sensitive after a late night-out ;)

Nice place for family to visit and must say a very affordable place. Portion and taste both are good, total value for money. We had called for pepper mutton curry, chicken curry home style, idlis and rotis. Extremely satisfied meal. Must try if spice fan thou. Idli were vey fresh and tender too. Chicken Garlic kebab & Chicken Lollipop is a must try. Food delivery was ontime.

This was probably our WORST meal , from Appa Kadai. We have ordered dined in and eaten at the restaurant in Karama and then from the discovery gardens many times . ( over many years ) The paraatha can be sold as Lumps of Atta flattened and heated . Not Palatable . The Fish Curry was smelling wrong . We were told Egg Bhurji can be served - and instead sent - 2 boiled eggs 🥚 🥚 , and a note on the order ( to be made spicy ) . What is wrong ???? We paid full money , and don’t expect this kind of food . Definitely NOT dining or ordering from them again.

Appa Kadai association goes long back... whenever I used to crave for some home like food, this was the place I would be as it was just the next building to where I stayed in Marina... their appams and egg roast or fish curry or a quick combo serving would take care of my dinner after a long day of work! Though it is slightly far from where I live now after 8 years in this city, associations with this place is still sweet whenever I yearn for a crab curry or a Hyderabadi biriyani or appam... they never disappoint.

i wonder how this restaurant has 3+ review. we have veg thali & veg noodles. we asked for spicy noodles but they made it tasteless with full of oil with no flavors. I didn't have either but I was told they're both nice. However, the chicken curry gravy was too watery. Also, on a previous home delivery, they sent barely any chicken and we had to call them back. To their credit, they did send a replacement. On to what I ate - The porotta was delightful and not rubbery at all. The egg roast was great and the gravy was very flavorful. It made for quite a filling meal. The egg roast contains only 2 eggs, cut in halves. So, four pieces. May not be enough for most people, honestly. They also have a fair number of veg sabzi options so that's alright too. I would have liked to see more. The one thing I didn't like was that there was a huge insect there that I was terrified off. I don't like that when I'm trying to have a relaxed meal. They did get it out of the store fairly quickly, but I would have preferred it to not be there at all.

Also I liked the certification that the restaurant got from the food department, “ A “ grade which shows the commitment and dedication of the management n staffs towards treating and serving the customer. The worst "Customer Service" ever i had experienced!! Really don't recommend this facility to any one. Yesterday we had visited discovery gardens branch for dinner.. the worse part is NO ONE is bothered about new customers and unfortunately staffs are speechless to our queries. We coudn't find any one who can be responsible for that situation. All staffs are simply pointing fingers to another one.. highly unacceptable attitude. If CCTV is in a working mode, please cross check how helpless we were along with our family at your reception! @ last we went to another hotel and had our dinner peacefully. For typical south indian food visit Appa kadai. Ordered for chicken curry Homestyle with Aappam. Portion is very generous however bit spicy but tasty. Had good south indian style gravy with the Aappam. Though they have different varieties of Aappam which we do not get anywhere, i stuck to the traditional type as wanted to enjoy the Chicken curry. Order Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Tandoori Combo and Sweets. I seriously think 1 hr delivery time is too much, but the food are very tasty and its worth the wait. The biryani had good amount of meat with aromatic rice, the biryani should be categorized as spicy. Didn;t like the sour gravy but the yogurt its a great balance and you get flavorful morsels till the very end. Disappointed that the delivery never comes on time.

Ordered chicken thali. Not all items on the menu was available as it was closing time. As nearing the closing time, the service was not up to the mark. We were not attended by any of them unless otherwise called for. We have a chicken and a fish thali in their menu. Yet i was served fish gravy in the chicken thali menu. Sambar was missing in the item. Rasam was hot and tasted fine.Rest other items served were good tastewise. Buttermilk in a glass nicely blended. Taste good. Chicken fry was also good. Their two veg curries- potato and bottleguard taste fine. I was little disappointed with their service and the quantity and the options in their thali. I have had better thali’s with the same cost.

From a long time i wanted to have lunch meal at appa kadai. I went there at a closing time around 2:30 pm ambience was good. i ordered chicken thali in which i got two diffrent vege and one bowl of chicken with a spoon of raita on the plate and rasam. Surprisingly sambar was missing as i had lunch in almost all the south indian restro and they serve sambar but here they said they dont serve it in chicken thali😭 but the waiter was kind enough he got one small bowl for me. Staff servuce i could say was not so good as i had to call them again and again as compare to other restro i didnt find it that good they were not even bothered to check what we need. I never expected thia from appa kadhai but may be it was like closing time and staff were tired.... Nyways moving towards food quality it was good i like there veggies and chicken as usual like other reatro but options were not enough... I had better thali in other restro at same cost so for me it was not upto the satisfaction.

It’s my worst experience ever where I called to deliver before the expected time and they actually came late by 1 hr..every time I call I get the response that it will be delivered in 10 mins even zomato chat assistance said the same and tried to give 9AED as a Zomato credit. It’s really been a frustrating experience and I must give zero rating if not minus. PS: zomato can also have their 9AED credit to themselves to spoil my night.

It's really worst food I ever had and had to throw the food. Really disappointed and waste of money. They gave kerala parotta which is cold and even old. The coconut fry beef had raw chilli and raw beef smell which shows the beef is not cleaned and cooked properly. Mutton curry with only liquid and no proper piece of mutton. For me this place is great for one thing, the tandoori chicken. Admittedly I order from Appa Kadai just for the chicken - which is possibly my favourite tandoori chicken in Dubai. It’s not pretentious, over spiced or cooked till it’s dried out. 99% of the time it’s cooked perfectly and the price point is great. I’ve also eaten their Hydrabadi biryani and dhaal which is also good. Like I said though it’s the chicken thats fantastic.

Ordered a South Indian Veg meal box and Veg Tandoor meal box. I was quite overwhelmed by the variety of food included in the South Indian thali but the tandoori thali was the exact opposite since it hardly had any dishes. The tandoori vegetables were extremely flavorsome and very mild on Spice. Dal chawal too was light and tasty and the vermicelli kheer was delicious and creamy. Now coming to the things I didn’t enjoy. The rasam was full of masalas and just tasted like spicy water. The tomato gravy and sambhar didn’t tally with my taste buds. The coconut vegetables and chaas tasted quite average. I was quite tired of opening so many small boxes and would have preferred a better packaging. Overall an average experience with some great bits here and there.

When we called to follow up they said the driver left already and it took another 25 mins to reach. Even the bill mention wrong timings of delivery. Then order from Aappa Kadai.. 70 minutes delivery is what they will show. Add another 40 minutes to that .. We tried a delivery order from Aapa Kadai of Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, Egg Kothu Parotta, Spicy Brinjal Curry and Egg Appam. The order came in good time and food was piping hot. The biryani had good amount of meat with aromatic rice, the biryani should be categorized as spicy. With the sour gravy and yogurt its a great balance and you get flavourful morsels till the very end. We also had spicy brinjal curry which was again awesome. This brinjal curry worked well with the biryani too and worked pretty well with the egg appam too. It would have worked well with just aappams but oh well :) The Egg Kothu Parotta was again pretty awesome. And a very generous portion of food. All in all the food was primarily spicy but really tasty all out. We enjoyed the order and would definitely be trying them again.

Visited a friend in DG and decided to goto Appa Kadai for lunch. Used to be big fan of their appams in Karama branch. Plain aappam - bit burned and thick in the edges. Egg masala Aapam - good Black Channa Masala - ok, in karama branch their gravy was really good. Havent ordered for long time now. so may be they changed the gravy style. Garlic Kulambu - ok White Rice Coffee - good Lassi - good Overall, their quality have gone down.

We ordered Hyderabadi mutton biriyani, chicken fried rice& kozhi poriyathu. Fried rice was good , biriyani was average, mutton pieces were very very hard, not fresh. Kozhi porichathu was also very hard, over cooked, no taste at all. Disappointed today

Aappa kadai is my all time favorite for appams. Since their marina outlet closed, we went to the discovery gardens outlet.. which is much better than the marina one! We ordered appams, veg chettinad, garlic spicy curry and buttermilk. The appams were perfect! Crisp on the edges and soft and fluffy in the center. Both the gravies were delicious; fresh and with the right amount of spice. The buttermilk was fresh and not too creamy. All in all, a very good meal. The only issue was the service. When I informed the server about my egg allergy his very surprising response was - ‘Our owner has told us that when allergy cases come, do not serve them’ . This is the first time I have been told that the restaurant will not serve me on account of an allergy! We still went ahead and had the meal ( after convincing him to inform the kitchen to wipe the utensil clean) and I am glad we did as the food was totally worth it. It was the attitude of the server that was disappointing. Besides this minor glitch, definitely the go-to place for appams.

Just loved the food. Aappam was awesome. We ordered chicken chettinad, aappam and beef coconut fry it was very tasty same as south Indian style. Service was excellent. There was 10% off through Emirates NBD debit card. I prefer to give rating 5 out of 5.

Nice and freshly made tasty food.. not many options for vegetarians but Veg stew and brinjal curry is must try with appams .. crowded on weekends but very manageable on weekdays.. good service and great value food .. ample free parking around ..

Never order food from this place, they deliver cold food and Hyderabadi chicken Briyani is like cardamom Briyani. They take a lot of time in delivering the food.

Today I ordered mutton briyani, gobi Manchurian and egg fried rice. Food was okay, but packing is so cheap and very bad. Briyani packet has broken inside the cover and rice got spilled over. Very worst packing, I’ll not recommend appa kadai for delivery.

I have had the worst experience in life while ordering food at a restaurant. Well, apparently, a reputed restaurant. I had ordered appam combo with fish curry and I was served uncooked fish. Like totally raw. To all those who visit this restaurant, check your fish/ chicken/mutton before consuming. They might as well be alive. Thank you, Appa Kadai, for this wonderful experience.

Order Chinese Chicken Combo for lunch from here and was disappointed. Delivery was a little bit delayed. The Manchurian and the Chicken Chilli had only 2 pieces of chicken each and the fried rice was quite dry. Overall a bad experience, won't be ordering again.

This a typical south india restaurant which is famous for its appams. #yum. Ambiance is nice and simple. Comfortable seating arrangements. Quite spacious too. Staff were good. Attentive. Food, well I went for lunch and tried their chicken thali. It’s was quite filling with good quantity. I was a bit disappointed with the taste as it was bit off. I did not like the chicken curry as it was too watery. I have had food earlier and it was good especially appa and stew 👌. Overall good. You can give it a try.

Dinner at a friends place and they order food from my favorite place for malabar food what more can i ask for . Thursday evening got better as i relished the yummy food from this place . My friend ordered for chicken porichattu, beef chilli dry, chicken chettinad, mango fish curry, appam and kerala parotas. Food was delivered timely. Chicken Porichattu was crispy, flavorful and i love the crispy curry leaves loaded over the chicken pieces . Mango fish curry was finger licking delicious...spicy and tangy. chicken chettinad was pretty good too and beef chilli dry was also good . Though the appams didnt really taste like the way we have it fresh but yet was soft and nice . kerala parotas were lovely . Overall a perfect weekend dinner .

I have been eyeing on Aappa Kadai for a long time, but the traffic or parking won’t allow us. It is always full on weekends, the good thing about it is they don’t close during lunchtime.

Crispy appams and delicious curries, what else do we want on a thursday night. Love the spice in their dishes. One of the top places to order from during weekends. Favourite items from their menu are chicken chettinadu, chicken sukka, mutton sukka, kozhi porichathu. Packed appams are not crispy though. However still very tasty. We even save it for breakfast the next day 😁.
