When it comes to sushi we hav been a huge fan of this place... my friend from bahrain orders from here when ever she visits us... today I order the usual California platter and to our utter dissappointment it didn't taste the same... the food tasted as though it was made 2 days back.. planning not to order anymore..

Am a sushi lover, Umi Sushi has been always my favourite especially their lunch box ( the price is really attractive! ) <br/><br/>Unfortunately, the last time didn’t like the taste at all and i just stopped ordering from them!

Rice is hard. Chicken is dry and hard. Disappointed

awful service. last time I have them 5 this tome they forgot sauce for 100 aed of sushi and despite 2 calls they were not interested. You can't eat sushi without Soy. the manager even said to leave a review. so here it is. appalled by lack of profesionalism. hope a senior manager reads this<br/>

Best in Dubai and I know sushi. For your business model suggest a 65 and 85 and set for sushimi.big gap here in market. <br/><br/>hope you see this review.

Food is really good, however service needs significant improvement (unfriendly staff, untidy toilets, smelly resto, etc.). We dined in the resto but one of the bento boxes we ordered was served in a take away food container! We were also asked to pay cash because their delivery staff had to bring with him the card machine. Food was served after approximately 50 minutes.

We've never been to the restaurant but have been ordering sushi platters for well over a year from Umi sushi (20+ orders). Their Salmon Lovers platter is simply amazing and so are the shrimp spring rolls, even though they haven't had them available for the past few times. The value for money is excellent and the salmon is always very fresh. Definitely the go-to restaurant for ordering a platter for two for the best price in the market.

I am generally fond of sushi, and while strolling around with my friend in Jumeirah, we came across this joint. So, we decided to go for it. It is a nice restaurant, in prime location, and the crowd was also not too much. We ordered grilled chicken sushi, and vegetable sushi for my vegetarian friend. But the vegetable sushi was not really good. Along with that we ordered vegetable noodles, which was sticky in gravy, it was quite nice.

Okay this place is tucked in one corner of JBR, but we like visiting it for a quiet sushi dinner sometimes. The last time we went we had a good experience. However this time was not very good. The sushi is good, however the service is cold and unfriendly. It seems this place only wants to focus on delivery as ours was the only table on a Friday evening and yet we were made to feel unwelcome by the waitress. We wont be going back for sure.

The food itself was nice although the miso soup had very kittle pieces of tofu but it tasted very nice and the sushi rice was too cold, but still the other ingredients were fresh and tasty. Their soy sauce is a little too salty so i chose to dip the rolls in the teriyaki sauce that came with the prawn tempura and it was perfect :)<br/>My main issue is with the service. The waiter was very cold and didn't respond to us at all when we addressed her. It was not a friendly environment and I don't think i will be going there again, at least not this specific branch.

It's a hot windy evening to walk at jbr but you caught my attention to not just pass on you. I really enjoy eating asian cuisine and look for a restaurant who can give justice on it and you got it umi sushi... <br/><br/>Excellent sushi, good value for money and a cosy place. I will be back for sure..

The only place I'll go to have sushi, bento boxes, salads, udons, or.... this meal made of codfish. You will come again and again for it. <br/>They are so fast. They bring your order literally in 5 maximum 7 minutes. The place is very clean, waiters are polite and reasonable price for all of these.

This Japanese joint is located on the other side of the blocks which are "building" The Walk... Slightly hidden (especially with the current tram construction going on).<br/>When I came to the venue (which was totally empty) I acknowledged a strong musty smell- overall it looks quite clean, so I hoped that the smell is somewhat not an omen.<br/>The menu, which I was given by the Filipino waitress was clean - but with loads of pictures it seemed more like a fast food outlet.<br/>When I ordered tea, the waitress told me that they have only Lipton because the other tea is not available)! After some asking she said, that other than Lipton they only have only Japanese green tea (which I thought about in the first place)- that was all quite confusing!<br/>Well when the tea (and the sparking water- they have Badoit) arrived I was a bit let down by the very dull flavor (Lipton or not) - strangely they also served the tea in an espresso cup (???)- also the tea was totally cloudy - obvious it was a tea bag filled with the scraps of tea production !<br/><br/>My tempura arrived- soggy and uninteresting selection of vegetable with a watery dipping sauce! The only highlight: the salad was quite punchy and sported Asian aromas (grated daikon, maybe a bit of sesame oil and off course soya sauce).<br/>After then my maki came: fried salmon skin maki (ok- the skin wasn't really crispy, which is the main attraction of the dish). The Philadelphia roll tasted great (seems that you can't really mess this up...) - but the salmon was partly stringy (bad knife skills).<br/>My agedashi dofu was very poor- yeah it was crispy- but the main thing is the dashi based sauce - and in place of that, they served a far to sweet (syrupy) soy sauce based sauce) - however they served again tempura which was then better - still huge chunks of vegetable but this time crispier...<br/>When I wanted to opt for the deep fried ice cream, they told me again- that it is '86 (how comes they had ice cream and definitely some batter).<br/><br/>The verdict: it is not awful. Not completely. But it is also simply nowhere close to great!<br/>Simple or essential items which are not available show a lazy attitude and they are neither funky nor authentic...<br/>Prices are ok - but I definitely would never consider them as good value!<br/><br/>Oh - I didn't mentioned - no background music - and several time I heard loud chatter out of the back of house... at least music have been nice...<br/><br/>Overall a dull experience - I guess I won't be back so soon!

Good food and value for money. The service was quite good. We had Chinese dishes before we entered this restaurant. ..so could only eat 1 dish.

I think this is a great restaurant, not because it serves the best food ever, BUT because is offers the best value for money Japanese food in the area.<br/>The hot appetizer "tempura shrimp and veg with rice" was very very good.<br/>The sushi rolls not bad at all!<br/>Service is what you expect from a casual restaurant.<br/>The salmon teryaki main dish is very good, yet, the salmon piece is too small, the dish must be heavier.<br/>Total invoice for 2 persons? 135 dhs<br/><br/>1 key advantage to this restaurant, it sells sushi rolls PER ROLL not per piece, so you take a california roll for about 40 dhs, but you get surprised the roll is 8 pieces, not 3! I've always thought sushi portions of 3 pieces per person was too skinny!<br/><br/>Overall: I WILL GO AGAIN.
