I have tried the butter chicken combo here. It comes with butter chicken, one big naan and some Biryani rice and a drink. The portion is huge and the butter chicken was tasty. I have also tried their tea.
Ordered the tandoori meal for two with the entertainer voucher this afternoon and trust me that was the best thing we did to keep our tummy happy all the time till late evening...
The staff was friendly and very cooperative and when asked for breast pieces they obliged and gave us only the tandoori breast pieces. The meal comes with fresh samosas, biryani rice and butter chicken with salad and drinks...
Quick service and worth every penny spent.
Would like to appreciate the way these guys are preparing delicious food. Loved there combo meal which had kebabs, rice, gravy and kheer. Will surely visit again.
Very decent food. Reasonably priced. Good to get such food far away from India. It's a better restaurant compared to other Indian restaurants in the mall.
Good option to get Indian food while shopping at Festival city. I ordered chicken biryani, chicken tikka & mango lassi.
Chicken tikka was so delicious & chicken tikka was so soft, smoky & yammi.
My daughter loved their mango lassi so much.
We have order the chicken teka and the sambusa with butter chicken and all of them they really taste good specially the nan bread definitely will try it again
Shamiana has always been our go-to restaurant at food courts, for Indian food. In spite of the usual friday night rush, the service was pleasingly efficient.
I was delighted by the flavours of the Tandoori Chicken Naan. The Naan tasted rich and soft, and the Chicken was hot and fresh. They weren't exceptionally delicious, nevertheless, enjoyable. I'd love to try more from the menu.
A satisfying destination for good food at reasonable prices.
I like the food here> Don know why people have written bad reviews here. I love the samosas!! You people are doing a good job.All the best !
Quick Service Indian fast food. That what Shamiana is... probably the only Indian restaurant that exists solely in malls and food courts. Anyways cutting right to the chase I had the non veg combo while my friend ordered the veg combo with paneer tikka. The food was served quicker than it takes Mcd/Kfc to serve. We got 2 curries, 1 roti, plate of rice, with curd, papad and lentil. The food was no nonsense and tasty enough for a food court. Not a complaint, however the chicken tikka quantity looked more in the picture than eventually served. At 32 dirhams for non veg and 28 for veg it served its purpose of filling us for the next few hours.
I was craving Indian food and need place near to my home so I decided to eat at Shamiana. The order was non veg combo meal which included two dish of your choice, biryani, two chicken tikka pieces and roti bread. I chose butter chicken and mutton curry, the food was good, the tikka was tender and tasty and big portion meal. The service was fast.
This weekend we were in DFC for a movie and just before the movie we wanted to grab a bite to last us till popcorn break : ). For the kids it was French fries and was looking for options for me and my butter naan (my better half :). Due to the ongoing modification work at DFC there are very limited options available in the Skywalk food court and in indian the only available option was Shamiana. Was going thru the menu deciding on what to order and it was good to see that they have introduced some new snack options in the menu and in the veg it was Kathi Rolls, Aloo Tikki Chana chat and Cheese Spinach Corn Tikki. We love Aloo Tikki Chana chat but we prefer it with Ragda (the wonderful Ragda Pattice) than with Chana and finally opted for Cheese spinach Corn tikki as it sounded interesting. Waiting time was 10 minutes and 2 pieces are served in a plate accompanied with Green Chutney. One bite of the tikki and it was yummy. The combination of soft melted cheese with spinach and corn with the crispiness of the tikki was very good and the green chutney provided the right flavor. It shall be good if they also serve ketchup along with the green chutney.Worth a try whenever you are in Shamiana next & we shall be trying out their other new snacks soon. Service was ok and nothing exceptionally different to write about.Till then Happy Eating & Happier Living ...
We ordered mango lassi and coleslaw the lassi was ready made but excellent and a bit cost ly coleslaw was useless sweet and highly creamy felt like made some time befoe
There is not much left in the festival city foodcourt nowadays… with the construction going on .. more and more restaurants are getting wiped off for a makeover .. I guess…
My entertainers, lack of variety in the 'under construction' food court annnd hunger got us here. We had tried shamiana ages ago, so we thought, why not!
We ordered a veg combo meal veg kababs with naan and a seek kabab meal served with rice. The fish tikka we had chosen first was unavailable, the seek kabab was only the chicken version available. The staff was allright, food court standard, they knew their basics. We were asked if we wanted rice or naan and told to be seated because our order would take 10mins… Drinks are not included in their combo meal, fastfood has spoilt us hasnt it ?
If I recall correctly, one combo meal was around 30dhs, a big plate served with the kababs, six for the seek kabab, good portion of rice. The veg kabab plate was interesting paneer tikka, some corn kabab and spinach patties with naan both served with a bit of onions on side. The rice was decent, naan was really good and fresh ! kababs were decent too, the only problem was there was no sauce no raita no chutney served with the meals. The meal with rice gets a gravy on the side, but the meal that needed it the most naan and kabab did not. We went to enquire and the manager apologized and said it doesnt come with a sauce however he gave us some free mint green chilli chutney and suggested a raita that would be extra charge. His behaviour was pro, he apologized and tried to come up with something whatever he could… anyway sauce was spicy ended up beeing more of a problem then help lol The paneer tikka was just too dry and not very interesting.
Conclusion : If you don't have much of a choice its a decent foodcourt indian meal, big portions, staff is allright, food is ok, nothing spectacular, prices are ok too. It's nothing extraordinary.
Update : tried this place again for lunch on a weekday, service was good, we ordered the fish tikka and rice and non veg combo. The fish tikka was really fresh and nice, fish was cooked to perfection, marinated with real saffron. Served with a small salad, small chutney, the non veg combo comes with raita and daal. Really amazing to get such quality in a foodcourt and fresh ingredients although half of them are ready made kept in the display. thumbs up !
I always come back here if I want to have something Indian for lunch. Non veg combo, hot onion bajjis, Chole Batture, Mutton Kadai are few of my regular orders. If you are looking for a good take away Indian food, then this is the place in Festival City !
I visited Shamiana Dubai Festival City yesterday night to have a taste of indian food, i was suprised to see shamiana having included street food on their menu, i tried having chicken tikka roll, keema tikki & cheese corn tikki which created a taste bud certainly. Further going with the main course i had a prawn biryani & mini kabab guldasta which was equally tasty enough to complete my meal for the day.
I would certainly like to visit this outlet again to have indian food.
