A pocket friendly joint where you can find some tasty and delicious Filipino cuisine though it the name says its a Japanese restaurant though. We ordered the Pinoy bento combo for AED 21/- and we can select 3 hot dishes from the spread available and also provide with one good enough bowl of Jasmine rice along with juice and one soup. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to other who love chinese/Filipino cuisine.
We ordered chicken ramen soup that was ok and sushi that was pretty good. Well priced and a good selection on the menu. Location is the new food court in Ibn Battuta.
Ichikura has been around IBN Batutta’s food court scene for a while now and they are one of the few that started a fewyears back that has withstood the test of time, with the others being multinational brands, so they don’t really count. The brand has adapted their offerings to fit the local crowd and not only do they have the original, delicious Japanese cuisine, they have also added a number of popular dishes to accommodate the visitors.
This is a place who specializes in Ramen.
We tried two of them - Tokyo Shio and Kumamoto Garlic Ramen. Both were really nice; I personally liked the Tokyo Shio more.
They also have chips and drinks from Japan. We had the Asahi beer (non-alcoholic) and milk tea.
Also try out the Karaage - Japanese style fried chicken - which was really juicy.
If you're in the mood for something a little different, try the Takoyaki which is a snack made form diced Octopus. It was kinda cheesy and we loved it.
Read about the Katsu curry, sushi, tebasaki, Mochi, and an in-depth review on the blog link below.
we had a lovely experience of the authentic Japanese cuisine at the Ichikura Japanese Ramen House located at the food court it was delightful to see the crowd pouring in at the counter of this outlet and it is evident that mostly the Asians love the delicious food served at this outlet
We tried the Tokyo shoya and kumomoto garlic and both had a nice concentrated flavour
the karage Japanese style juicy friend chicken and tebadaki taryaki chicken wings both were freshly prepared well fried and delicious
we also tried beef taryaki and Japanese curry rice both dishes had the real Japanese food taste and we greatly enjoyed it
Among the desserts cream mochi the Japanese sweet is a delight after the meal
good service friendly and cooperative staff
do experience the Japanese Ramen House Ichikura ...real Japan in a bowl as they truly say!
Marcom Ichikura
Japanese Street Food Restaurant located at new Food Court in Ibne Battuta Mall.
Nice front space with common seating place.
Tokyo Shoyu Ramen a traditional Japanese Soup with pieces of thin sliced chicken and noodle is a complete delicious meal.
Assorted Sushi we found fairly good, specially Salmon Maki
Tebasaki Chicken wings Teriyaki must try, it is very good
Beef Teriyaki with Garlic Rice very good
Ambience 3.0
Service 4.0
Food 3.5
A good value for money
Well never expected to have something different this evening...The names of the dishes were pretty difficult but the courteous staff assisted us in knowing the cuisine..
Had Tokyo Shoyu Ramen in soya sauce, Kumamota Garlic Ramen with roasted garlic oil as main course and it was shared between me n my friend and both njoid as it was tasty and delectable.
Appetizers we opted for Karaage which is a Japanese style fried juicy chicken, Tebasaki teriyaki chicken wings, and agedashi tofu which was crispy fried in savoury sauce..Liked the chicken appetizers and since tofu isn't my choice I couldn't njoi eating..
Hatakosen Lemonade and calpis soda ordered as beverages and both were good and it was my first try towards these Japanese beverages and loved them as I splashed the lemonade like a champagne all over....
Finally the cream mochis, mango and coffee and both were delicious, juicy and yummy...
Njoid my evening having everything that defined Japanese...would definitely give a try for other dishes...

We ordered Kumamoto Garlic Ramen, Spicy Maki and Prawn Bento. Food was very tasty and presentable. i was just a little disappointed with the serving size of ramen for that price. I enjoyed the Spicy Maki so much and forgot to take a photo 😂
Get to know me better though my Instagram: @xotina143
My review for Ichikura – Even though this restaurant is located in the food court, the quality of food is well above what you usually expect from the food court. Serving popular dishes from Japan, I found the flavours were close to the authentic dishes that I had in Japan.
The takoyaki was the highlight of the appetizers as it was made beautifully with actual octopus meat inside. I loved the fish flakes that were added on top, where it was just a perfect topping to add to the delicious takoyaki balls.
The adegashi tofu was nice and firm that came on a pool of a very delicious sauce. I was happy to see that the tofu was not mush where I am always facing with when I have tofu from the food court.
The tempura had a good ratio between the batter and the vegetables as well as between the shrimp. These were made right where they were crisp on the outside, with the vegetable and shrimp perfectly cooked in the inside.
Finally, the green tea cake was stunning in both the presentation of it, and the same went for the taste. Out of all the flavours of the mochi, my favourite was the coffee one as the taste of the coffee in it was strong.
This restaurant deserves a rating of 4/5.
I ordered the adegashi tofu for 15DHS, takoyaki for 28DHS, tempura for 30DHS, green tea cake for 18DHS, and the mochi (strawberry, matcha, mango, and coffee) for 8DHS each.
The pricing of the dishes here was decent for food court Japanese style food.
The service that I received here was not good at all. The staff behind the counter was better at serving me, after I said greeted them first, I basically had to approach them first because they did not say hello or acknowledge me with a smile when they saw me.
The ambience of the restaurant was eye catching with their large and bright signs. The Japanese colourful mural was the first thing I saw when I approached the place. Located in the Metro Link part of the IBN Buttata mall, I found this a good place for those who wants to stop by for a quick Japanese fix.
Friendly staff..Shout out to that guy who really helped me to choose the ramen that I had earlier. (Forgot to ask his name.) It was really good and delicious. I also like the gyoza and kaarage.. I would definitely come back. ☺
Very good restaurant. Loved the ramen. The staff were very friendly and explained every dish to me. I had the chicken ramen and gyozas. It was amazing I loved the gyoza. Would definitely go there again.
I am a Japanese.
Ichikura's ramen is absolutely the real Japanese ramen. It tastes very good and the price is not too expensive. My children and I love "Shio ramen" and "Shouyu Ramen".I want you to enjoy The Real Japanese Ramen(-_^)
I had some Ramen which was mediocre, but what really saved the game was the Takoyaki! It was absolutely delicious. I think it's worth the trip just for the Takoyaki - they are probably the only placed that serve it, except for Fujiya restaurant near Lamcy Plaza.
But since I felt the Ramen was not so good, next time I will order from another restaurant (since it is located in a food court), and then I will get the Takoyaki as a side dish.
I like chicken wings and karaage very much, TOFU nice , Ramen is good but a little expensive.wasabi fries is special one..........................
Kumamoto garlic ramen is must try 😊.
Salmon maki is okay 🍜🍜🍜🍣🍣🍣. Japanese ramen house jay located ibn batuta food court extension to ibn metro station.
Perfect Japanese food!! The same taste as real Japan. The price is also good. For one person, group, family and couple, anyone will be able to enjoy it.
We ordered in from here yesterday. It's quite pricy but the combos are very filling too. We ordered one kumamoto garlic beef ramen and one yasai kare ramen along with salmon maki. While the non veg experience was great and the yasai curry flavour was excellent, I was disappointed that the endamame dumplings were over so one as sent a hash brown instead (not very Japanese but delicious)... And when I asked about what vegetables they put, they told me it's just cabbage, carrots and beans - which I didn't want. In a veg curry is expect mushrooms (preferably shitake) and tofu at least if not a soft boiled egg too. So good flavour but rather mediocre experience given the options for vegetarians and the price (bill was over AED110 after a 10% discount on Zomato)
It is not a very common sight to find a food joint serving Japanese delicacies at a food court is it? This is what made us grab the opportunity of trying out Ichikura Ramen House after roaming around the Ibn e Batuta Mall. There were a lot of things on the menu, so if you are a Japanese food lover you are going to be truly delighted at this food joint.
The dishes that fulfilled our appetite that day included starters like the crispy fried agedashi tofu that came dressed in dashi sauce, hirata steamed buns with crispy vegetable filling and tasaki which was basically buffalo wings fried Japanese style. There was this crunchy snack with diced meat of a real octopus too and the prawn tempura that came with a separate sauce for dipping was crispy from the inside, and deliciously tender from the inside.
Our mains consisted of Ramen, the traditional Japanese dish that Ichikura is famous for. We selected two types, one being the creamy chicken soup noodle called kumamoto garlic as it had a dash of roasted garlic oil in it. The other was Tokyo shio, this too was chicken flavored with traditional salt seasoning and a topping of yuzu peel.
Since this place offers authentic Japanese taste, we didn’t fail to try some sushi. In fact, the spicy maki was the highlight of the meal for me. All in all, dining at Ichikura was a wise decision.
The food here has authentic Japanese flavor so do not judge Ichikura by the fact that it is located inside a food court. It is as good as any other Japanese restaurant in town, probably even better, with good proportion of food at a reasonable price. The counters were clean and each item that we ordered arrived nicely presented on black plastic cutlery. They also deliver, so you can even enjoy the Japanese taste comfortably at home someday.
Didn't know Vegetarian Ramen exists! Was a good new experience to try Japanese food. The noodles were fresh and it was a hearty meal. Just wish there were more vegetables in the Ramen.
A genuinely satisfactory Ramen taste. Real ramen taste can be enjoyed here if you are generous enough to tolerate its smallness compared to its high price.

I use to think Japanese food would never fit in a vegetarian’s diet but I am so glad to be proven wrong. Over the years I have started loving sushi and these quirky combinations for vegetarians make me crave them even more of it. When Ichikura was launched at Ibn Batutta Mall, I had to make sure I try it out myself. Ramen noodles, dumplings, edamame, tempura and sushi! This little restaurant at the food court has more variety than even some of high end casual dining restaurants I know.

Ichikura fancies itself as an authentic ramen house, the first in Dubai. Whilst it is most certainly NOT the first in Dubai to serve authentic ramen; Bentoya, Fujiya and heavy-weight Tomo (among others) would argue fiercely in their own defence, it is perhaps the first to dedicate the core of its menu to ramen. And let me assure you, much of its ramen is actually good, the MISO ramen particularly so, and close to the real thing where authenticity is concerned. That said, I didn’t think much of their Yasai Kare, the broth of which tasted (too much) like a Katsu Curry. The Gyoza, my default starter with ramen, was…meh, only so-so, BUT still better than what I had earlier at the other new Japanese kid on the block, Motomachi. BOTTOM LINE: this food court contender is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
I have been ordering in Ichikura ever since it opened and I must say that the food is great. Me and my friends also learned that the guy making the ramen is a Japanese so that's probably the reason why the ramen is soooo good :) We were so stoked when we learned that we can now order online so that we can enjoy the food at the comfort of our own homes.
They were a little bit late though but they called in and and that it will not happen again so we really appreciate them for doing so. :)
Elated to know that Takoyaki is served in this outlet and so ordered a few items for take away as we were billeted in a nearby hotel.
Loved the edamame , takoyaki, chicken karaage, and my ramen - the rest, not so.
But would definitely come back even for just the first two!
First of all Thanks to Ichikura for introducing me to delicious Japanese cuisine ! I cant get enough of it anymore. This is the first restaurant that I tried my first ever Japanese dish.. later I wandered through range of restaurants in Dubai offering Japanese food or dishes.. None of those restaurants can beat Ichikura when it comes to taste, authenticity and deliciousness. I have tried almost all the menu items so far and I loved each one of them. I got a chance to discuss few things in detail with the owner and chef few days ago and I realized that this restaurant doesnt only specializes in Authentic Japanese food but this is their passion and thats what makes it different and makes the restaurant stand out. :)
This restaurant is a synonym for 'tasty food'. Our journey to Japanese food has recently begun and we are so fond of this cuisine that we are actually trying many outlets/restaurants in Dubai. I must say this one is the best till date.
We ordered Yakisoba combo with gyoza, Kumamoto combo with karage through zomato delivery which was delivered pretty within time.
Thumbs up guys! Keep up the good work :)
A tiny go to Japanese place located at the metro stretch food court of Ibn Batuta is a hidden gem truly. A small place serving some delicious Japanese food is truly a surprise. The chef met us personally and told us about how they create authentic magic. They are the only original Ramen house in Dubai and truly a very delicious and special one. Even though they were in the food court, the presentation of the food was really cute. They made some extra efforts to create some really presentable dishes and not only that the dishes too were very delicious.
Here is what was selected to be served to us:
Sushi:
Veggie Uramaki – Mango, cucumber and creamy avocado, A veggie delight and a delicious variety of sushi. I ordered some last week too and this is a delicious version of sushi I have had. The sesame coated rice was nice and sticky, the sweetness was perfect and the flavors inside were really creamy. Yum o meter: 10/5
Appetizers:
Agedashi Tofu: Crispy fried tofu in savory dashi sauce. It was nice soft pieces of tofu in the sauce. I am not a fan of tofu, but thanks to the sauce, this one was delicious. Yum o meter: 4/5
Karaage: Japanese style fried juicy chicken, it was crispy, fried and juicy for sure. Enjoying munching into these. Yum o meter: 4/5
Gyoza Chicken: Pan fried dumplings served with a dipping sauce. This one was ok, I felt it was a bit too dry and not one of my favorites. Yum o meter: 2.5/5
Tebasaki: Teriyaki Chicken wings, truly juice and huge wings were nice and sweet. I loved the way they were cooked and presented. It was finger licking good, you cannot stop at one. Yum o meter: 5/5
Takoyaki: Crunchy snack with diced octopus, this one is a must have one of my favorites, crunchy octopus and delicious in taste. I loved the overall flavor and licked up my entire plate. Yum o meter: 10/5
Japanese curry rice: Curry sauce served with steamed white rice and a topping of choice we had all:
Chicken katsu, Panko prawns and Calamari: although individual dishes, we were served these together, the main thing about this dish is the curry and I must say it was surely commendable. I loved the flavor with the well soaked rice. The chicken, prawns and calamari was really crispy and delicious. We finished it all. Yum o meter: 10/5
Donburi:
Teriyaki don Chicken is a bowl of steamed rice, topped with spicy chicken in teriyaki sauce. This one was a surprise and it was delicious. There is nothing I did not like in this one. It is a meal by itself. The teriyaki sauce was one of the best I have had. This is one dish you shouldn’t miss. Yum o meter: 10/5
Ramen: A traditional everyday dish, ramen is a hearty bowl of hot soup and fresh noodles served with carefully selected toppings.
Tokyo shoyu: Tangy chicken noodle soup in soy sauce. This one was delicious specially in the chilled weather, I loved the chicken and the egg flavor together. I am not addicted to ramen after having this one and this place is surely a king in Ramen. Chuck the spoon and have this directly from the bowl. Yum o meter: 5/5
Yasai Kare: Crispy fried Yasai mixed with mushrooms in a vegetable noodle soup. I liked this one too, however it was a bit bland compared to the Tokyo shoyu. I liked this one but it was a bit too thick for me and I was full too soon. Yum o meter: 3/5
Desserts: Cream mocha we had the strawberry, macha and mango. My favorite was the strawberry. It was nice sticky, sweet and delicious creamy and melt in your mouth kind of dessert. It’s a must have. Yum o meter: 4/5
Marble soda: Don’t miss this, I still have the bottle, it is a traditional drink from Japan and I loved the taste of this one.
It is a nice and cute place with so much variety. In all I, would recommend to not miss the sushi, appetizers, and the Ramen. I am surely coming back for more affordable Japanese food whenever I am craving.
Ichikura is the Japanese street food in a food court. You can have a hot and tasty bowl of ramen or some takoyaki. A really authentic yet affordable Japanese that was missing in the Dubai's food scene!

I had the pleasure of dining at Ichikura a few weeks back. It's a small Japanese restaurant located on the new bridge extension from Ibn Batutta Metro Station to the mall.
The owner Rajif has lived in Japan for over 20 years and wanted to bring affordable Japanese street food to Dubai.
Their main focus is Ramen with 6 varieties on the menu which can be customized with additional add ons. The broth is left to simmer for 15 hours to perfect the flavor and their ingredients are sourced from Japan to make it as authentic as possible.
From what I tried my favorite dishes included:
- The tebasaki. Japanese style buffalo wings but don't expect a buffalo sauce. These giant wings are deep fried then have a sticky and sweet teriyaki sauce on top and served in 5 pieces.
- The hirata steamed bun was actually half fried and half steamed. I tried the chicken variation and although it's carb heavy, I could not stop eating it. Filled with salad, sliced chicken and a mayo sauce the combination along with the sweetness of the bun made it very irresistible.
- The chicken teriyaki was fantastic. Succulent grilled chicken pieces smothered in a sweet teriyaki sauce on a bed of white fluffy rice. A comfort meal indeed.
- The agedashi tofu is perfect for the vegetarians. A crispy fried square piece of tofu served with a savory dashi sauce.
The chicken Katsu is a dish I make at home so it wasn't a dish I'd order again as I'm used to the way I make it. My version is a little sweeter.
A special mention also goes out to the kari maki. Never before have I seen a place that used soy wrappers in their sushi. A different way for those who don't like seaweed to still enjoy sushi.
Also on the menu you'll find some Japanese drinks and not to mention the traditional mochi desserts.
Ichikura promise tasty Japanese cuisine at very affordable prices including sweet lunch deals and combos. They also now offer delivery to the surrounding areas. Tuba Kaya
Craving for japanese bite, i landed up in this cute little place in ibn batuta metro link food court. Hardly had any great expectations while i entered. My taste buds were kindled with lemonade (hata kosen lemoade) which resembled something like the marble soda bottles.
Had made my mind to fill my cravings
starters i had
Agedashi Tofu which was super fresh , crisp fried with some sauce which tasted heavenly priced at aed 15 for two pieces
Takoyaki - it was diced octopus filled balls priced at aed 28 (6 pieces) something unique.
Ebi Fry -crispy fried prawns with tartar sauce, amazing it was (aed 29 for 4 pieces)
Tebasaki- Buffalo wings fried in japanese style sauce tasted something like barbeque , super cruncy, juicy every bite (aed 22 for 4 pieces)
Karaage- Fried chicken in juicy style , this had 4 small pieces of chicken, quite bland but juicy (aed 22)
Tokyo Shoyu and Tokyo Shio--this was my most awaited dish as i was eagerly waiting to have Ramen , which was a huge bowl of hot soup with fresh noodles, slices of chicken, boiled egg , veggies . Very filling, tasty and a complete meal.(priced at aed 32)
Not to miss my all time favourite , though i was full opted to have California Maki which was 8 pieces of avocado, crabstick, cucumber, mayo filling sushi. This was freshly made right in front of us and each bite tasted amazing
By the time i got done with the main course my sweet tooth urge cropped up and tried their dessert
cream mochi in flavours of mango, strawberry, coffee and macha, mango was my favorite though.
We didnt miss to meet the man behind these culinary skills Chef Kawai who was very humble and friendly. Ms Ana ensured that we were well taken care of.
So if you are a lover of japanese food or you are around ibn batuta...Ichikura is the place to go for your yummy tummy with budget which wouldnt pinch you.
Yay finally Dubai has an authentic Ramen house. Located at the metro link food court at Ibn Battuta mall is this Japanese outlet serving some really good food at a fairly reasonable price.
I was here one evening for dinner and pretty much liked everything I tried. It is really simple as it is located in the food court and is self service so I am going straight to the details of the food.
Started the meal with a Veggie Uramaki, 8 pieces of Sushi with mango, cucumber and creamy avocado in it. It tasted good but It could have been more fresh.
Then called for a Wonton Ramen, this was prawn wonton noodles in clear soup garnished with green veggies. I absolutely loved this one and was perfect for the cold weather. The flavours were really good and tasted great with a bit of wantons and noodles in every bite.
We also tried the Prawn Gyoza, Karaage (Japanese style fried juicy chicken) and the Hirata Steamed buns, the teriyaki chicken flavour. The Prawn Gyoza tasted good and this is a healthy dish as it is steamed and the flavour is simple. It tasted really good with the soy dip.
The Karaage wasnt too impressive as it did not taste very fresh. The Hirata steamed bun was my most fav. It was filled with teriyaki chicken and was extremely soft on the outside with a delicious filling. This is a sure not to miss when here.
For the main course we called for a Chicken Katsu curry. It is my most fav dish and I don't often miss it when I am at a Japanese restaurant. This one was fairly good but the flavour and texture of the curry could have been better.
We sure had to try the cream mochi for the dessert and these ones were pretty tasty. Came in different flavours of chocolate, strawberry, Coffee and Mango, they were cold and tasted very authentic.
I would recommend this place if you are looking for some fairly good Japanese food around the area. They sure have some hit and miss with their dishes but overall have done a good job.
Best food court Japanese restaurant in Dubai! Good food quality for very reasonable price. They offer quite a lot food options. I ordered fried shrimp and veggie tempura with miso soup. All food are tasty and Shrimp is HUGE,I didn't expect this from a food court restaurant. Will come back again!
So we tried Ichikura today . Must say that as a food court restaurant and for the price it is great ! We tried a number of things and here is the feedback :
Crispy chicken wings : delicious , perfectly cooked , the best Asian flavoured wings I've had 5/5
Katsu curry : could have a strong taste but it still quite good 4/5
Octopus bites : yumm 4.5/5
Yakisoba noodles : so comforting ! 4.5/5
Chicken gyoza: 4/5
Other items we tried and liked are the ramen 🍜, chicken teryaki donburi, traditional lemonade.
The server was extremely hospital and courteous. Service was quick .
Excellent value for money !
I like Ramen and Japanese street food a lot. After I moved to Dubai I haven't find any Japanese street food and ramen place. Used to go to wagamama when I crave for hot soup noodle but be frankly it's a little bit pricy. Luckily I found ichikura . They have Japanese chef who makes authentic ramen ,karaage and takoyaki(my favorite Japanese street food!). Aed32-38 for a big bowl of ramen and add a few bucks to make it a meal with chicken karaage and soft drink. It's a steal! ichikura has become my stable dinner place after work!
I was surprised to see a Japanese Ramen restaurant in food court. Because In Dubai Japanese restaurant are always all fancy and expensive. There was one Japanese family ordering food at the counter so I decided to give it a try. I ordered Kumamoto garlic ramen and Karaage(Japanese style fried chicken). Ramen soap is creamy ,soft boiled egg is nice and the roasted garlic sauce just make it perfect . Fried chicken are very juicy inside. My mum wants something light so I asked for a veggie uramaki (veggie sushi),the girl at the counter told me their chef just created a"crazy sushi" which is not on menu yet but it's very light and tasty. I said yes and that's really delicious as promised, they added sweet potato in the sushi roll and it's totally amazing! Also price is very reasonable . Will come back to try other food on the menu.
We were so excited when we heard Dubai's first ramen house is opened and couldnt wait to try out the Japanese street food. The restaurant is highly accessible since its in the metro link!
Our favorite from appetizers included:
🔸Tabasaki- 5/5 Japanese buffalo wings which were covered in a sweet glazed sauce. The chicken was juicy and chewy, just the way we like it!
🔸Takoyaki- 4.5/5 Another delicious appetizer, fried balls stuffed with diced octopus and it literally melts in your mouth!
🔸Tempura-5/5 these deep fried snacks were finger lickin' especially with the dipping sauce!
all other appetizers such as karage and chicken gyoza are also good options for appetizers!
Our favorites from the main course included:
🔸hokkaido miso and tokyo shio ramen-4/5 Finally the ramen! The soupy noodles with several veggies and toppings made a filling a lunch and really tasty for the cold weather!
🔸Teriyaki don-3.5/5 This one is unique! Fans of teriyaki chicken and mixed with rice is a unique Japanese dish and worth a try!
🔸Mochi- 5/5 Lastly we were served with the famous japanese sweet that is so chewy and melts in your mouth. The texture and taste makes it the best ending to the meal!
Overall, the place is convenient to reach, resonably priced for a delicious and a filling meal and quick service!

Dubai’s first authentic Ramen house located at Ibn Batuta Mall with amazing Japanese menu and stay for the authentic freshness! It was a totally different experience for me as I have never been to any Authentic Japanese place. The dishes are worth a try and of course the Ramen’s are not to be missed.
This restaurant should immediately go down into the hidden gems list. One of the first arrivals of Japanese style ramen house, bringing along beloved street foods like ramen (no surprises there), tabasaki, takoyaki, tempuras, sushi and more.
Being an Asian food lover, I was super impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the aromas and flavours brought onto the table. I found every dish upto the mark!
The Mochi to finish off and the Japanese lemonade adds a good touch to the menu and are must tries.
Its definetly worth the trip to Ibn Battuta!
Everything about Japan fascinates us and we constantly look for places in Dubai that evoke fond memories of our trip to the country, especially those revolving around food. When we received an invite to try Ichikura out, we were in two minds; one that had us excited about the prospect of indulging in Japanese fare and the other got us slightly apprehensive about how authentic a food court restaurant could actually be. Tucked away between other restaurants at the new Ibn Battuta Metro link, Ichikura Ramen House as its name suggests serves a variety of different Ramen bowls on the menu in addition to other Japanese delicacies including Sushi rolls and Katsu dishes.
Touted as Dubai’s First Ramen house, this small restaurant serves good Japanese food at an affordable price. located in the food court on the metro link connecting to the Ibn batata mall.
Ichikura basically specializes in Ramen, a traditional Japanese broth with noodles and meat. Currently, they served 5 different kinds of ramen including a vegetarian one. so that's a good news for all the vegetarians out there.
So we started off with their appetizers, Tebasaki [AED 22] which are sticky wings inboxed teriyaki sauce, these wings are so good i almost ended up ordering another portion but there was already more food coming for us so resisted the temptation. Karaange [AED 22] is boneless fried chicken, was pretty average. Gyoza [AED 25] are Japanese pan fried dumplings stuffed with juicy minced chicken served with soy sauce. Ebi Fry [AED 29] and Ika Fry [AED22] both appetizers were decent. Hirata Fried Buns [AED 18] - crispy buns with teriyaki style chicken, absolutely yummy!
Next up, we tried their Ramen, they have 5 different types including a veggie ramen so good news for all the vegetarians out there. We tried the Tokyo Shoyu [ AED 32] and Hokkaido Miso [AED 35]. Tokyo Shoyu, a tangy Soya sauce broth with noodles with chicken and a soft boiled egg. Hokkaido Miso was yet another hot bowl of ramen in a nutty miso broth with chicken. Their Ramen bowls are hearty and filling. we ended our meal with a nice miso ice cream [AED 8] which is a traditional Japanese ice cream. Give it a try if you like a good bowl of Ramen.
I have lived in Japan for a couple of years, matter of fact that's where I met my beloved husband almost 14 years ago and well we were delighted when we found ichikura ramen so much so that once we've had it 3 times in a row consecutive days. It just brings us back memories. Last night was the first time when we ordered. The broth was so delicious I had the prawn wantan soup and my dh had the Tokyo shio and we also had the ebi maki. It's really delicious. You can really taste that they use real Japanese ingredients and the best part is the no fuss and that it's in a food court. If I could I would have it everyday. 😊it's only 740 am and oh how I wish I could rewind to last night's dinner.. just yums!
While we aren’t usually too impressed by food court fare we are thrilled to say Ichikura is an exception. Our top picks were the agedashi tofu, Japanese curry, miso ramen and Japanese lemonade. We can’t wait for them to open up another outlet closer to home.
Food blogger - @dinewithsally and i think this is a brilliant concept .. loved everything about the food especially the Ramen , Tofu and Gyoza. I recommend for delivery as well and value for money is amazing ! ❤
Ichikura – Japanese cuisine is very extensive and flavourful in term of every expect. I expect this cuisine to be served in very fine dining place with so many variety of the food. Ichikura is changing the perception of this fine dine restaurant and serving it in to a food court. Ibn Batutta is coming up with many new restaurants as the food court is new. Ichikura is one of those names added in the food court. The outlet is very catchy and has really good options to go for. I liked the small menu, but the options are so many to try them out.
Good food is not necessarily served only in fancy restaurants, small restaurants that are totally frills free can also offer great food. Ichikura is one of those small restaurants that I came across recently and I was really surprised by the food offering. Authentic and delicious Japanese food that is reasonably priced.
Ichikura joins the long list of Japanese restaurants in Dubai. But what makes this different? Find out below!. Firstly, it is situated in a food court of a mall. You don’t really find any Japanese food joints serving food from a food court so having this in a mall becomes a plus point. Secondly, it may be in a food court, but don’t judge it by that! This place serves food as good as any Japanese casual restaurant you might go to and that too at unbeatable prices.

Sushi and Sashimi are the popularly known Japanese quick bites in this region. Anything beyond that is quite rare or highly priced. Ichikura is a foodcourt outlet that serves a few Japanese street food dishes at affordable rates. With a tagline that says "Ramen House" , needless to say Ramen is the main item on the menu. My personal recommendation is the Tokyo Shio. It has a clear broth; loaded with flavour. Though the more commonly known Hokkaido Miso looks creamy, it tastes too flat. Irrespective of the soup/broth, the noodle is fresh and cooked well. I was really looking forward to try their Takoyaki but the octopus meat at the centre of these balls (made from flour and eggs) was quite chewy and brought down the dish as a whole.
The Ebi fry ( Panko Coated prawns) and Agedashi Tofu (fried tofu in Dashi sauce) are must haves, the latter being vegan with potato starch as the coating. Fried items are meant to be eaten when hot and on that note the prawns stayed crispy till the very end.
Quite unique items I got to try here. I had the agedashi tofu which was tofu in some sticky crispy sauce n I also tried the Hirata steamed buns with teriyaki chicken which was nice. The taste of both was ok but the photos look better.
ichikuraramen is a newly opened Japanese #Ramen house located in ibn batuta mall, they offer some #authentic Japanese dishes
We had the followings :
1. Karaage : japanese style fried juicy chicken priced at 20.
2. Tebasaki : japanese style buffalo wings priced at 22.
3. Kumamoto garlic ramen priced at 35 dhs must try , the flavour of garlic makes it soo tasty.
4. Hokkaido miso ramen priced at 35 dhs .
5. Chicken katsu priced at 30 dhs.
6. Donburi : a bowl of steamed rice , topped with spicy grilled chicken in teriyaki sauce priced at 28 dhs
I honestly loved donburi the chicken and sauce was so perfectly done. Again a must try
7. Kani maki : crab stick , lettus and creamy mayo rolled in soya wrapper priced at 34 dhs.

Great place to go to have a bit to eat on your way to a movie or home. Conveniently located inside Battuta mall and very close to the Metro. Strongly recommend the Korokke (potato patty fill with cream & corn), Karaage (chicken cutlets), Tebasaki (chicken wings) and Tokoyaki (Octopus balls), exceptionally flavoursome and juicy! Curry rice and teriyaki don are also very nice. The Ramens are nice but a little on the salty side. Friendly staff and reasonable costs for tasty food.
While visiting Ibn Icharaku intruiged me, there aren't many japanese restuarants in Dubai. The ramen was pipping hot even when I took it home, the chicken was soft and tender. The Noodles although were thick and hard to eat I had to resort to use a Fork to eat my ramen, the prices are decent but they do have a pretty decent broth.
Great new restaurant quality food experience open in Ibn Batuta at the new Metro Link Food Court area.
I'm an fan of the carefully curated menu carrying a good assortment of Ramen, Sushi and Japanese dessert !
My favs are the Wonton Ramen, Gyoza and the Cream Mochi (to die for!!)
Interesting Japanese food nuances can be explored with the staff giving you direction on whether to choose the Shouyu or the Shio Ramen and the science behind the flavors of Japan.
Overall was a refreshing food experience with something new to try !
Generally I do not have any expectations when it comes to Food Courts, much less when it comes to complicated cuisines - like Japanese @ a Food Court.
However, when I walked past Ichikura at the newly opened Ibn Battuta metro link, my curiosity was piqued and I thought of giving it a try.
The prices are quite reasonable and the staff very politely takes you through the menu. Japanese cuisine isn't just Sushi, and the staff make sure that you have a pick of something unique and interesting.
I tried the Tokyo Shio Ramen and was pleasantly surprised with the quantity and more importantly the quality of the food. The soup was warm, noodles slurpy and long, the chicken delicate and the egg perfectly boiled!
Needless to say, I will be giving this place another try soon!
One of the best Japanese food I have eaten in Dubai!
The food was was freshly cooked and the Ramen was served steaming hot!! I had the combo meal, Tokyo shio Ramen and Gyoza which was excellent , totally relished it. It was cheap and a complete meal , total value for money. The menu is quite elaborate, the takoyaki , sushi , karaage was mouth watering. I have already visited three times and I look forward to having a meal there again soon!
Ichikura serves mouthwatering Japanese food and its Karaage,Gyoza,Sushi,Ramen and fried prawns were exquisite. Very reasonably priced and backed by attentive services and locational advantage, Ichikura has the making of a great Japanese eatry. Will definitely re -visit and recommend to others.
This place truly lives to its tag " real japan in a bowl" , most amazing Ramen in Dubai for sure. I love the chicken Karage , tempura and takoyaki to name a few from the list they have.
Tokyo Shoyu ramen is highly recommended.
The staff is friendly and happy to help ans explain the menu.
Well done ichikura.
Ramen is my favorite. For the Japanese food their prices are very reasonable for the good food quality. Looking forward to home delivery as well.
Love this place, chicken fry is a must-try, crispy outside, soft and juicy inside. When I went here they haven't start serving Ramen yet, definitely gonna go back again to try there Ramen😝
This is a must try japanese restaurant in Dubai. Their cost is very reasonable and they make ramen much better than the other big names in dubai. The Kumamato garlic ramen and tokyo shio ramen is a must try. They also serve the world famous takoyaki. This is a new restaurant in the link bridge of ibn battuta expansion which is easily accessible via metro.
