Small little place - but definitely worth the food.
Love their limited menu items which they serve so well. My personal fav is the Sultani Kebab and the Meat Mix grill. They do it right and the kebabs are full of flavor and just right.
Service is decent and quick. They have family seating as well and I see a lot of crowd specially on weekend. Never had an issue getting a table though as it’s a hidden gem.
one of the best iranian grills ever its really full of vaporizing taste. reminds me of the old days of how amazing were Iranian restaurants. it's the best taste in dubai.
This is what persian food tastes like in iran . Fresh , tender and delicious . Please try their soups. Chelo kabab is the best and its served with curd and salad . Place is always pretty packed
Value for money!
If you love your kaaba to be fresh and absolutely delicious then you should surely try out this joint.
Ordered the mixed meat kebabs and the yoghurt kabab on a weekday.
Total bill came. Upto around 52 bucks.
Absolutely delicious!
Value For Money! Affordable! Delicious! Perfection! A must try for Kebab lovers. Indoor as well as outdoor seating. Great service. Everything under 50 only.
Been here a couple times now. If you are looking for fuss free kebabs and meat cooked in an Arabian BBQ style, this is a great place to go. It’s always full with great fresh food.
You must try their buck wheat soup, don’t miss it.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Good Persian food in Satwa, with the typical Persian menu. Prices were reasonable. I highly recommend the sultani kebab and chicken grill biriyani. Everything we have had was delicious. We will for sure come back soon.

Comments: This has been one our favorite haunts for delicious Iranian/Persian food. My personal favorite is the Chicken Kubideh kebabs which is served with berry or saffron rice although over a period of time we have savoured all the other varieties of chicken and lamb kebabs. All of their food is served hot and fresh and does taste good. You can choose sides of homous, salad and lentil soup which go perfectly with the kebabs. The pricing is very reasonable, place is very basis and is perfect for a quick meal with friends and family.

Their Kubideh kebab is my favorite and to die for! The saffron or pomegranate rice is also wonderful. Good food at affordable prices! Got there at 12:15 and placed the last order before they close. Got it packed and ready to go.. couldn't wait until I drove him so had my dinner in the car
I love Persian Food even when im still in PH. We visited this resto a week ago. Ambiance is good, Food is average. I was surprised i just found out this resto thru zomato. although i just live in Satwa 😆 the location is hidden it would be better if they are put this one near Satwa Mosque. 🙂
Hmmm .. Let me start by saying that the rating of the restaurant on Zomato does not justify the food that they serve ! But a restaurant is not just about food .. or is it ?
Situated in a quite corner in Satwa, this place is a hidden jewel which I believe people from outside Satwa or the surrounding areas need to try. It is clearly one of those places which believes in the good old restaurant philosophy of serving non pretentious delicious food which ensures steadfast patronage.
We were there this Eid on the recommendation of a friend (who has been staying in Satwa for the last 7 years and has only recently stumbled upon this place).. get my point about 'hidden' ;)
The Ambience is basic with about 10 tables including a separate seating area which smelled of fresh paint. It was clean and functional with most extra supplies easily visible to all guests.
We were quickly seated, and menus served. Being Eid, the kitchen was understandably busy with massive take away orders ( I saw atleast 10 large salad plates being taken out of the restaurant). But the staff though skeletal was quite attentive. We were quickly informed of Lamb not being available. Though disappointing, I think it is better than taking an order and then having to cancel it ..
Now I am a big fan of Iranian cusine. We ordered the Chicken minced kabab - Normal and spicy, the Chicken yoghurt kabab and the Kabab with rice along with Salad and cucumber yoghurt.
I still can't get over the fact how soft, juicy and succulent the Kababs were !
The yoghurt Kababs were a little too tangy for our taste but the spicy chicken minced Kababs were just right.
The thin unleavened bread that was served with the Kababs served as the ideal companion for the self made sandwiches with Salad and yoghurt. The bread was a serious surprise as I am so used to either that massive khaboos or the Nan bread that other restaurants serve, which puts you off the meal without even starting.
The Butter sachet on the Kabab rice was a nice touch, though I have definitely had better Chelo kababs. The salad was fresh and the yoghurt tangy.
Considering the ambience and the basic nature of the eatery, I was expecting the damages to be low and I wasn't dissapointed.
Overall a fulfilling experience where food was the king with no distractions from either the ambience , the design or the presentation.
I am definitely going back to try the other dishes and would recommend all to do the same
Food : 4.5 (The yoghurt Kabab was too tangy)
Ambience : 3 (clean functional no frills)
Service : 4 ( attentive)
Economy : 5
Overall : 4
Food is good and the staff is friendly love the food have been coming to this place for ages and the taste remains the same they also have separate place for families...
Great food, cheap and nostalgic. Must for meat lovers. Good for a quick snack or a full meal. They also have home made pickles which I assume are really nice.
Every time I pass by this place I wanted to come and try it. And today was the day. Started with lentil chicken soup then had hummus and chicken yoghurt kebab. The soup was tasty and rich. The chicken kebab was so juicy and tender. I'm happy that I finally came to try it and will definitely come back again. Yum
SK is a modest Iranian outpost for your kebab fix. everything about them is understated. the facade, signage, location. But their score decently at all levels, service, quality, portion and speed. One of those quiet places that goes about doing what it's supposed to without much drama, remember there are some other Iranian restaurants that have picked up fame more because of their talk value, than food.
If you want to go to place with amazing food this is the place to be. The restaurant is quite small and with very poor ambiance,BUT the food here is exquisite. The prices are really cheap too in my opinion. The kebabs are delicious, so juicy and cooked to perfection. The staff here is quite nice too. We ordered 2 Hummus' (order more if going with a bigger group as Hummus portions are very small),1 Okra Curry, 1 Lamb Yoghurt and 1 Mixed Chicken Grill. Everything was really nice. For dessert we had the Iranian Ice Cream which was really nice too. This place is a really great and highly recommend it. Definitely coming back here as it has impeccable food.
P.S : Ignore the lack and poor display of photos as I was hungry couldn't capture them as they were plated.
Let's just take a moment here to think about the soft and tender, melt-in-your-mouth kebabs from Special kebab. Be it chicken or lamb, Bahraini or the Sultani kebabs, every kebab on the menu is sure to lure you. We always order in and are very content with their delivery time and the quality of food. Must try!
I visited here first time with two friends for dinner last week. My friend visited before and suggested we go here for their Kababs of which he was full of praise. I had never heard of the restaurant before and didn’t have high expectations. I thought they would just serve ordinary kababs, and also agreed as it was getting a bit late.
The location was in a nice and quiet place in Satwa opposite Capitol Hotel and since the weather was pleasant we sat outside. We ordered three plates of kababs, Bahraini, Lamb and Spicy Chicken (two kababs each), and Salad and Chicken soup for starters. The soup had few small chicken bones in it but it was nice and warm and tasted good. The salad also was nice to have with the kababs.
The kababs arrived quickly, and were soft and tender and tasted superb. I think they were the best Kababs I ever had. The three of us shared the kababs with each other and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Size and quantity were good and also after eating we surprisingly didn’t have that heavy and sick feeling in the stomach. We also ordered their Suleimani Zafrani Chai which was delicious; it tasted of Honey and Rose water. It was great to have that tea after the meal. Service was quick and very good, and we were all very pleased.
After the weekend, I told some other friends about it and they said that this restaurant had been around for many years. I wondered how come I never knew about it! The restaurant has a very simple and modest look and I guess that’s why it has gone mostly unnoticed. There are only eight reviews on Zomato as of now. The diners are mostly Iranian and Arabs with it being a Persian restaurant. This place is a must visit and you will be surprised and impressed. I will definitely visit there again and soon.
More than anything, I tried Special kebab out of inquisitiveness last evening and it turned out to be quite a winner. This Iranian place is located just opposite Mercure hotel in Satwa in a quiet corner. There is a lot of history to the place (operating since 1980) but I am surprised that its not talked about in the same breath as Ostadi in Meena Bazaar. I am not trying to compare it to Ostadi, which I think is better but special Kabab is not far behind. I tried the koubideh with bread followed by Iranian ice cream and tea. All three items were really good. The chicken koubideh was very well done and juicy. Served with some fries, it went really well with the salad. If this kebab was a surprise, the Iranian ice cream was a bigger surprise ! A really gooey texture with an awesome taste. I was actually confused whether to take the Falooda or ice cream (both were recommended), the waiter helped remove the confusion by getting me a tasting portion for each of them - It was a really nice touch. The quick and efficient service with the delicious food made it a fab overall experience. I recommend this place - great on taste and very easy on the pocket. I for sure would be back for more !!

In case you’re wondering, the only connection between this Special Kabab and (Holy Grail) Ostadi Special Kabab (now, for some unfathomable reason known as al-Ustad Special Kabab) is the term Special Kabab, which translates from the Persian, Kabab Khass. There is absolutely no other connection. Unless of course you go back to when they both started – then there is a connection. A big one. But I will leave that story for another time.
Special Kabab in Satwa is a small, affordable South Iranian Bandari restaurant on the fringe of Satwa. It has one of those plain-Jane, walk-on by exteriors I wouldn’t give a second glance to leave alone drive half way across town for. But the irresistible promise of Kabab Masti does funny things to people, especially me. I’ve been here several times over the years, before I embarked on my quest for the best Kabab Masti in Dubai.
Long story short – Special Kabab’s Masti is good but not a patch on Ostadi or even Caspian. The Khoresht Bademjan is however very good, suggesting stews rather than kababs are this restaurant’s forte. I have little trouble believing that their take on the Bandari favourite, Ghalieh Mahi (a fish in aromatic green herbs and tamarind stew), served as dish of the day on Thursdays is as good as they claim.
Service is friendly and fast food quick, thanks mostly to Ali, the always smiling restaurant proprietor who speaks Persian, Khodemuni, Arabic, Hindi and of course English. If you end up there consult with him instead of referring to the menu.
One of my favorite kabab spots, the place and menu are pretty straightforward.
The service is always polite and quick, the managers are always around to check if everything is going well. The location is a bit tricky right opposite the mercure hotel in satwa. They have indoors and outdoors seatings, parking is street parking.
Their food is always of good quality and fresh, their complimentary soup and salads are extremely fresh. Their kababs are always juicy, served with few fries.
The place is very family and lady friendly, a lady can sit here alone people dont stare the staff does not stare or make it awkward (u know what I mean..)… they have a family room. Place is always clean.
They give you a complimentary suleimani tea which is to die for the best irani tea, so fragrant, excellent.
Its my fav kabab spot, its not greasy and you feel just like at home. They have lamb and chicken options too. A hidden gem !
One of hidden gem for Persian food lover. Serving authentic kebabs, zafrani rice, soups etc. Pocket friendly mostly Persian and Arabic crowds goes there. They do have small family section of you are want little privacy. Nothing fancy but tasty food.

Another Ol School Persian Restaurant which has branched out from its Original Deria Location. This branch still has managed to retain its original recipes and tastes. Located off the 2nd December street, they serve some of the best kebabs both Chicken and meat. but thier highlight like every known Persian Restaurant is thier rice, and in thier case its the amazing green rice and thier signature Saffron rice served with a dollop of butter which melts right through the aromatic rice.... thinking bout it makes me wanna drive down there and grab some now....
LOCATION: The restaurant is located down the road from Al Ghazal Mall at the end of 2nd December Street. There is ample parking in the area, so finding a parking spot should not be a concern.
VENUE: The restaurant is not very large and you can see that the establishment has been around for quite some time as a little bit of furniture and decor renovation is much needed. There is a separate family section towards the back of the restaurant.
SERVICE: The service is quite fast and the servers very friendly. As soon as you are seated, complimentary green salad is served to all the guests. Soup and water are usually extras. If you want to have a look at the menu, you just need to look at your table. The menu is enlarged and placed on the table with a glass cover on top.
FOOD: The food does not take too long to be served. Even grilled items are served pretty fast. The Bahraini kebab and the beef kebabs are delicious. The yogurt chicken is also flavorful. The grilled dishes are usually served with flat tortilla styled breads and french fries.
Highlight has to be the rose flavored complimentary tea - very unique concoction - not to be missed.
PRICE: The price range is reasonable - and the portions per serving is enough to satisfy an individual. There have been occasions where two of us had shared a single dish that was ordered and we did not feel the quantity was too less.
OVERALL: Very nice and cozy place. Food is good and definitely worth the experience.
Fair prices. Generous in portion.
Not much about decor, but clean and delicious.
