(التعليق الأصلي) Inconsistent quality. i've been there twice with friends within a few weeks apart recently. First time was fantastic. Second time we ordered more or less the same dishes and we were very disappointed. The oil tasted old and unhealthy. The ingredients for the noodle dish were not matching the menu and had raw vegetables dumped on top instead. Service team need a serious training. Their clothes look dirty, unkempt. The attitude is fake and careless. Plus, the seating is not comfortable for sitting long.

Quiet restaurant in Dragon mart. They have sushi on the menu but they did not have any sushi to serve. Ate their chicken Don katsu and chicken teriyaki Don. Both were below average quality. We did not enjoy dining here as the food took a long time to come even though the place was not busy at all. The chicken katsu was dry and tasted sour. The teriyaki chicken was also sour so I'm not sure if this is how they make it? We asked for herbal tea on their menu but again, they said they don't have any in stock. I would not recommend to dine here. They also changed management recently so they no longer accept ZOMATO GOLD.

Came in here to try the Indian food. Was quite disappointed. The staff was persistent on us trying their food and nobody was inside for the service. Food was very average and service was a little poor. Food is definitely on the expensive side.

Since the management and staff has changed, the quality of the sushi was very disappointed and we did not finish our old wood sushi.it was moisy and not crispy like before. We came especially for that crunchy fried sushi and now we have to look for a new place. Suggest that the management look into the quality of sushi more and train the staff also more professional. It has become more empty that place!

We ordered a selection of dishes, some were excellent and some not so much, so I think you can have an excellent meal when you know what to order. The sweet and sour chicken, the sushi, the crab sallad were all great, while the dumplings and stir fried noodles were rather poor options and there were no green tea available at a place with sushi...

This place was on my “wishlist” to check out for months. Today I finally made it, and wanted to try their vegetarian meats and other vegan options - as it was supposed to be a pure vegetarian restaurant. Turns out they have a new owner and a completely different menu with mostly meat based options. I’m disappointed.

I have never liked Sushi for some reason in so many places Normally and I was motivated to try Sushi here since its not raw here but its cooked... The aftaar bofay was okay the food items from chinease cuisine and from Indo Pak cuisine were there in good Number but the disappointing was there service as it was very slow. Per head is 40 dhs the price is economical but the staff needed to be train to be more fast as you can’t keep the clients waiting The atmosphere and the wooden arts in the restaurant is wow Over all it was a good experience

The menu on Zomato is incorrect!! This place has turned into an authentic Chinese restaurant serving a few Indian dishes including briyani!!?? Having driven so far and walked that far, the menu has no vegetarian meat at all. It's a massive restaurant with an unusual feel and impractical chairs and tables. The servers are relatively new and don't know much about the menu. Anyways, on to the dining experience: Complimentary green tea - which had a nutty taste. Mushroom dumplings - good portion size, quite nice Mushroom stir fry (can't remember the name) - it was very nice except the big pieces of red dried Chilli which keep coming in every bite Veg sushi - very good Mapo tofu - completely different than what I've had, there is a bit of an after taste of a herb they use. Traditional tofu hotpot - very nice Fried rice with some weird herb called "toona" - I can't describe the reaction it has in your mouth with water. You sip a glass of water after the rice and your entire mouth feels tingly. Insanely weird. Vegetable noodles were good. Disappointed that nothing was perfect. The food overall is very oily and salty as well. In case it is msg that they are putting, I'm not coming back. Don't think I'm coming back that far again.

The concept is excellent. The place has vegetarian vegan options and a good variety of the same. Being a hardcore non vegetarian, I didn’t know vegetarian food could taste like that. The ambience is authentic. The staff is more than helpful. And the food is excellent. It is light, soothing and refreshing. Must try are the noodles and the dumplings. Absolutely delicious stuff on the menu. Must visit!

The restaurant has recently changed management, the kitchen staff and is also undergoing a full menu change. They have become a multi-cuisine restaurant, though still maintaining some of the original Chinese vegetarian menu. We ordered some old favorites like Teppanyaki Mushroom, Mapo Tofu etc and the taste / presentation were quite bad. Most of the food was very oily and lacking flavor. Disappointed that the old kitchen staff left. Avoid the place if you were thinking of going there for the earlier Chinese vegetarian menu.

What an amazing find! I visited here with a visiting vegan friend but I would choose to go here with meat eaters too! Amazing incredible food and a good price! Love their 'duck' in hoisin sauce with pancakes, the fried mushrooms which you would think were meat, the sugary sweet potato and the fried rice! It's too good! I'm definitely going back! Next time your in Dragon Mart 2 Please visit! Also wonderful decor!

Beautiful location and sure one of our favorite places to eat! All vegetarian Chinese that is certainly suitable for non vegetarians too. Service is attentive and very pleasant. Professionals. The food is absolutely amazing. Served beautifully. We’ve had all sorts of dishes and all are full of flavour. Our advice, just go for whatever looks apealing and enjoy! Bottomline, Defenitely worth a visit.

Really excellent! Top quality Chinese vegetarian dishes in a delightful setting of massive wooden tables (real hardwood - no fake veneer here) with decor accent pieces representing Chinese culture. A very good find, also for non-vegetarians, who might actually survive not eating meat for one meal, and who will be surprised at the tastes of the soya preparations, which actually present the taste and texture of meat. Great selection on the menu, including some difficult-to-find specialities. Very impressed!

Fantastic concept, unlike any other in UAE. A pure vegetarian Chinese restaurant with such a huge variety of dishes on offer. Food taste and quality are amazing, looks like their chef has been highly trained with the art of cooking. The menu had a variety of starters, mains and desert. A lot of mushrooms are on menu. My favorite is mopu tofu. The decor is tastefully done and represents the concept.

UPDATE: I came here last night (Aug 31 2018) and this place has changed mamangement and the menu!e now they are a regular chinese restaurant without their amzing vegan flair. it really broke my heart to find that out. Didn't stay to eat, so I am not going to be changing my rating, but i definitely dont think I'll drive all the way up to dragon mart again just for this food like last few times. OLD REVIEW FOLLOWS Seriously amazing! Best vegan restaurant in Dubai! We ordered half the menu, but the real standouts were: CHILI MUSHROOMS. SO FREAKING GOOD AND SO MEATY. The black fungus/wood ear mushroom salad... Sooo good. I love me a good black fungus and they do it so well, tons of cilantro and tons of Chili's. The veggie meat - basically a vegan Peking duck type situation, the name doesn't do it justice! Can't wait to trek back to dragon Mart for this place again!

Since i was in dragon mart 2, I thought what better place to eat chineae than a restaurant here. So I came to old wood and served myself. An iPad menu was presented to me. I went through all the pictures one by one but was thoroughly confused. There were no sub heading for appetizers, mains, drinks or dessert. I thereby made my choice looking at the pictures. I ordered spicy fried beef and coriander fried bread. The coriander bread was crispy with a lovely flavour of coriander. I took one bite of the beef and it tasted of mushroom. I thought perhaps they have mixed mushroom with beef. Next bite and again it tasted like mushroom. So I called the waitress and told her that I asked for beef but this is mushtoom. Guess what she says...." this is a vegetarian restaurant "l🤤 so I said that the menu read beef to which she said " it's mushroom that tastes like beef". For a hard-core non vegetarian expecting some protein...nothing can substitute meat! Disappointed for sure but the food tasted good nonetheless. So vegetarians , please head over for authentic chinese food. Non# vegetarians don't waste your time. I wish they would have mentioned " pure vegetarian" somewhere instead of people finding out after they have ordered. The waiter should have told me straight up that beef is actually mushroom and I would have walked out. Not a good way to try and make revenue by forcing people to pay for food they didn't want .

Old wood village is a beautiful restaurant that is situated in dragon Mart 2. The wood is made from old Chinese ships and the stone is real stone shipped all the way from China. The restaurant is so visually appealing. They have soft Chinese tunes in the background which complete the experience. We ordered two creative combo meals. One was a potato gravy with black rice with a salad, sweet and some mushroom soup. Absolutely delicious meal. The 2nd combo was a sausage gravy with rice and salad and some thousand island dressing and coconut milk soup. This is by far a very creative combination I've had and it all went well. We also had mushroom dumplings which were absolutely delicious with the dumpling sauce provided. Thumbs up to this. Must order! My Last item was the chili sauce and noodles bowl which to me was absolutely delicious. I think this is one of those hidden gems and if you're a lover of the true Chinese experience you must try it. What I liked? ✨ VEGAN restaurant. The sausage and beef served is vegan and made of soya. ✨ Quantity served is good ✨ Value for money, budget friendly ✨ Staff are pleasant ✨ Delicious food

We had pathetic exp. They took more than 1 hour to serve starters and for main course they were not sure how much time it will take. When we asked, what's the reason they told we don't have enough staff. Their response was very embarrassing. At Last we cancelled the order after 1.5 hours. Will never visit it again.

All that eyes could see (Decor, furniture, dishes, etc) and All that the nose could smell (nothing bad) and the tongue could taste was Excellent. Wooden warm decor all in basic wood, superb. Excellent service on top of it. Food that must be tried is Hot and Vinegar (they don't call it sour) Soup with Crispy Rice (this they will bring from another expensive dish, but do Crispy rice only and then mix it with Hot and Sour Soup, you will say it is, Amazing!) Veggie Kebabs (mushroom based, shashlik) Tuna rice, Tofu and even deserts all was excellent. Truly 5/5 place, highly recommended.

We popped in here to have a filling snack after a day exploring Dragonmart. I was really surprised to discover it is a vegetarian restaurant. A vegetarian authentic Chinese restaurant was new for me! The decor is just beautiful with gorgeous wooden accents. We ordered an iced tea (fresh and delicious), dumplings (OK) and kung pao style stir fried mushrooms which were delicious. The service was warm and we got these baked mushrooms as a complementary starter. It was a leisurely relaxed afternoon and the service matched our mood. I'd recommend this place for authentic, Chinese vegetarian food in International City.

A friend recommended this to us but we rarely go to the Dragonmart area. He loves the wooden table and chairs of the place, and he always orders some noodles and veg (but yes, this is a vegetarian restaurant). One late night, we found ourselves in these parts and decided to have a snack there (as we already had dinner). Ordered the white fungus soup. It took awhile to arrive but we didn't notice as we were just hanging out. The waitress though noticed and offered us some crispy dried forest mushrooms and okra. They looked simple but it was super tasty! I really loved the dried mushroom -- so, so good. Wish I could buy a whole bag of them to snack on. The soup came and it was fine. The owner also came by and offered us some delicious Chinese tea. Would like come back to try their main dishes.

Given the size of its menu, this place probably has more options than Dubai's other vegan restaurants combined! The service was excellent and the decor surprisingly nice for a budget shopping mall. The food was inconsistent though: some dishes that were rather good and others didn't do as much for me. They also really need to tone down the salt. Will probably be back to sample more of their offerings!

Beautifully decorated pure vegetarian restaurant. I have been there for several times and every time I had wonderful experience. we tried pineapple fried rice, dry pot broccoli, marpo tofu. They're using fresh ingredients, seasonings. Best part of this restaurant is No onion or garlic. It's a hidden gem in dragon mart. we'll back again to try their other dishes.

Vegetarian food executed so well to taste differently and presented in Chinese style. It was a superb experience. Simple ingredients and use of techniques make the food taste so good which can't be explained but felt. Service was five star. I didn't have to wait for the food... As I ordered the food was served.. A techno savy person would love to place on order as it was to be placed on an electronic touch sensitive device.. It had interactive pictures and best possible explanation for the dish..it's a must try Best of all is that they don't use plastic boxes to pack hot food for take away.

An amazing veggie outlet and a delightful pace to try, the interiors of the place live up to its name with its wood furniture and decor... to place an order, a tab is provided and the waiter politely helps one to choose... the food really is remarkable and delicious and definitely will go back there again...they have yummmmy black rice and some definitely must try mushroom dishes... it fools the tastebuds into believing there's meat, when it's purely veg cuisine:)

Had been on the lookout for a vegan restaurant and Old Wood Village was highly recommended. The menu is varied and it was a relief not having to give specifications to the server about eliminating meat/dairy etc. Loved the chili mushroom with peanuts. Interesting flavours. Not a big fan of the marpo tofu. A bit too oily. Noodles were good too. Seats are not comfortable as the tables are low for the chairs which doesn't allow you to get closer to the table. The server named Sable was a delight. She was attentive, checked on us and even offered to spruce up the tofu when we said we didn't like it much. Cant wait to go back to try the other dishes.

The place has very good ambiance and as the name suggests its all wood theme. There were 3 of us and we opted to sit outside since the weather was good. The service was okay, but if you are seated outside you might have to struggle to get attention.The food was average, but very oily. They do have a quite good variety considering it being a veg restaurant. My friends were okay with food, but i wasn't impressed. Worth trying once if you happen to be in that area; but I don't think i will go back again

"Impressed" is the only word that flashes my mind when I finish my dinner. We stumbled upon this restaurant while we were in Dragon Mart. The menu was offbeat yet spectacular. It is difficult to find a Authentic Chinese Veg restaurant but make it Vegan...and add No Onion and No Garlic...these limitation has resulted in some incredible combination. A must got place for all those pure veg foodies who have a penchant for exploration !!!

Quite a work they have done to maintain the theme. Big ups to interior designer! And Next impression is the waitress! She sure one of polite & charming one from Ethiopia, sadly i forgot her name, She is really welcoming! And Food menu is little confusing for me may be coz it was my first time, but manage to order some dishes! To be honest it was one of the best chinese food i've had! i loved it more than chicken or meat on my plate! more are mushroom based not much of veg choice u have though but the dishes are quite a class on their own! and to be mention about their "Baqreeth" Rice tea! the moment i had i fell in love with their tea! Dumpling are tasty! Noodle are in good quantity! and Way of serving is very good! i would recommend to come up with more variety of new dishes to try! There are some little negative things to say! but looking at positive side of the restaurant, We can sure ignore them! I would highly recommend to try out this restaurant of a vegan Chinese experience! Will be hitting back again soon ;)

Vegan heaven finally here 😂, I'm so happy to find a place like this, finally in Dubai. Where to start.. First congratulations for the great initiative, then I will continue with the ingredients and seasoning, one word.. AMAZING, this not the typical salty and greasy fast food that you will find in every food court, this is fine dining. And the variety, you have a real wide option of delicious, traditional and super healthy Chinese food... A place where you can enjoy a great food and feel that you are helping the environment, carbon footprint cero, guaranteed.

The most unique vegetarian food, I'd always go to Old Wood Village in a beat. Chinese recipes with a twist, nice service and good quality of food. The restaurant although quite big is not normally frequented by many customers, which makes the service fast, friendly and attentive. I was reading the previous reviewer comment and honestly I can't think of why their order would take 1.5 hours having been in the restaurant a couple of times. Must tries are the seeweed salad, the mushroom-tomato soup. This soup - although might seem as an odd combination stops to be such the second you taste the soup. At least 3 different varieties of mushrooms in, soup base of tomatoes that are half-cooked and appetizing seasoning. My husband who doesn't like mushrooms as a rule, had 2 bowls of the soup. The flowering cabbage was fresh and crunchy, the black rice on steam cooked to perfection, the "veg meat sausages" were unforgettable and although I was aware I was at a vegan restaurant, had to double-check with the waitress they were in fact veg! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to any vegan and vegetarian lover.

I admit that the thought of being vegan terrifies me. I am a dairy loving carnivore, so it is never going to work for me as a concept, but each time I visit Dragonmart I am drawn back to Old Wood Village for their "Pineapple meat Veggiemeat" dish. It is crispy but chewy, shredded mushrooms wok fried in a rich red vinegar sauce with fresh pineapple and capsicum. Served with white rice and a delicious never-ending pot of buckwheat tea, this is a lunch that takes some beating.

Very disappointed, they changed their menu now most of their items are mushroom based. Waited for the food for over an hour, the dishes didn't come all together but slowly after eachother when they brought out the last dish after 1.5 hours I told them to cancel the order because we had already finished eating and at first they refused, after asking for the manager the dish was taken back and removed from the bill. The food didn't taste good at all and actually made us feel sick for the whole day. We asked for the mushrooms to be removed of the pineapple fried rice but after waiting for an hour we didn't wanna send the dish back and hand picked all the mushrooms... Staff wasn't very friendly nor helpful either, we won't be back.

Tried their fried rice noodles which was for 28dhs and the portion was more than enough for one person .They also have great combos during lunch hours and they deliver as well. Definitely recommend 👍

Finally made it to the Chinese all-vegetarian restaurant to check out their vegan options, which were plenty! My favorite dishes were the Pineapple Meat, the Lotus Root Pancakes and the Veggie Dumplings. Some of the other food (e.g. the Tofu) was a little oily and I had better ones elsewhere. However - so many great vegan options to try including lots of fake meats, which are definitely worth going and in general hard to find in Dubai. Being vegan myself, I couldn't wait to get there. And was pleasantly satisfied. Chinese buddhist food was promised and delivered with a grace. Simple, yet very tasty! And compassionate. Great interieur, attentive staff, food ordering device, great choice (couldn't choose so ordered soo many), reasonable prices, ... And most importantly really yummi. Thank you! Recommend and will definitely come again.

Thank you! We had a great experience. The food was pleasantly surprising and tasted great. Presentation of food was great and well as service. I had pineapple meat and pineapple rice- can suggest everyone to try. Even the meat eater would be happy :-). We loved the interior. Certainly place to visit.

Being a indo-Chinese lover, I always wished to try authentic Chinese food. But it's always difficult to land in a Chinese restaurant being a veggie. Things got changed when I landed at OLD WOOD VILLAGE. ..Authentic vegan chinese Food! We went inside to have tea just to explore the interiors. You are taken to the amazing wooland world. Everything is wood. Such a wonderful and peaceful place. Good place for DATE nights !!! Once we were inside, I got to know that it's a vegan restaurant. That vegan goes in my ears n the foodie in me couldn't wait anymore to have dinner here. The staff was so good, he was so patient and polite helped me a lot in choosing the food. He gave such detail info on their food made that it was easier to order. Wonderful hospitality We ordered : Veg dim-suns which was best of all we ate. Got fresh mango juice. I liked it but there was less sugar ..but that's okay. I have noticed food and sugar to is less in all there dishes. Otherwise, by taste they are awesome. Combo meal consisting : cabbage soup and a salad which I didn't like a bit. Tossed potato with Chinese herbs - Yummy ! Brown rice - Chewy but thats how it is always. It was good Mildly flavored. Fried ladyfinger- Good! Overall I loved food there and will go again if I crave for Chinese food!

The interior of this restaurant is amazing with almost everything carved out of wood which compels you to go inside. The food is not bad but being a non-veg the menu mainly comprises of veg dishes which was disappointing as this is the first Chinese restaurant I've ever been to with very little non-veg variety.

I love the interior of this place and quite surprised to find another pure vegetarian Chinese Restaurant. I have tried one in Beijing ages ago, the Pure Lotus Vegetarian restaurant. obviously, it is incomparable since that was in a 5-star hotel however I was happy with the experience with Old Wood last night. It's not so pricey and customer service is superb. The food is a little oily but quite unique to my taste.

It was my first time to be in a hundred percent vegetarian restaurant. A forest was used to build the interior design , the seating are not comfy, as there is no enough leg space The food presentation is Excellent but the tast is very oily, poor and doesn't taste as it looks. The price is a bit high for a vegetarian dishes will never come back again

When I learned this was a completely vegetarian Chinese dining experience...I was curious and excited! I have now been 4 times!! As a vegetarian of 20 plus years, it is so refreshing to order freely and blindly off the menu and know that everything is clean of meat by-products. Everything I have tried I have really enjoyed. I suggest the seaweed, lotus root, and black rice. Some of the snacks are really nice too. The decor is so detail oriented, better than what you expect in Dragon mart! The staff is friendly!! You should experience this gem!! ( My meat eating friends really enjoyed it too!)

Great authentic Chinese food , and it is all vegetarian . Must have ordered 10 dishes . Out of which 8 were a hit and 2 were a miss . The veg skewers, seaweed salad, were the highlights . Made a mistake with deserts, but will be back again soon , to try various other dishes .

Authentic Chinese! Visit this place and savor mouthwatering rural food from the provinces of China... and they are all Vegetarian!! Have mapo tofu and dan dan mein along with mixed stir fried veggies and sticky rice... The portions are good and the food is literally a gastronomical delight...
