Makani is a indian resturant in RAK. They serve authentic indian cusine with lots of delicious variety.
The dine in area of the resturant is really good with both open and closed areas for family, which totally is comforatble for people who need privacy while they enjoy the delicious food.

Bombay briyani : this was served in traditional matka all sealed and served fuming hot 😍 they opened it up for us & served it. The briyani tasted really good and delcious , the flavours bleneded soo well. It was hot fresh and super yummyy. 5/5
Butter chicken : butter chicken was also served hot and the quantity was also really good. Chicken well cooked and mized in gravy really good. 5/5
Ras Malai : at the end we ordered dessert ras malai and it was just lovee 😍 just as any good ras malai , true to its flavours and served so traditionally. 4/5

Very good service by Tarikul Islam. Food is decent. Don’t expect authentic Hyderabadi biryani you won’t get that. Nalli gosht masala is good. Biryani is ok.

One of the best Biryanis that i tried in Ras al khaimah. The aromatic rice and rich flavours made a perfect blend. Me being a non vegetarian to my surprise i loved the mushroom dum biryani.
We also ordered for achari tikka. This was decent, as it dint have the tangy achari flavour that you usually expect in acharai murgh.
Amazing food and best service, gentlemen named Laxman was best at his work and suggesting best dishes

Our tour to RAK became a pleasant experience at Makani Restaurant.The mutton biryani was tasty and these gulab Jaman ‘s were perfect with less sweet.Serving and presentation by MV laxman was best too.We will visit the Sharjah branch soon.
This newly opened restaurant ( about a year back) is high on ambience, taste and most importantly on variety. We were amazed to find so many biriyani n veg options. In most of the Indian eateries, the choice of veg is fairly limited.
We were told that biriyani happens to be their speciality and will return to try it at a later date. We tried machli koliwada( a traditional deep fried fish delight from down south) served with mint- yogurt chutney. In curries we opted for Lucknowi Murgh Masala, which as the name suggests is boneless succulent chicken pieces in a thick n rich tomato gravy, spicy with just the right touch of heat.
On a sweet note we tried kulfi falooda. Food was fantastic on taste and Tatikul was our server for the night, who rates very high on service.
We look forward to our next visit.

An Isle of Spice in the dwindling galaxy of Indian restaurants of RAK......
Makani has been around for a while now and we managed to check it out last weekend. The location is strategic, right next to E11 highway behind Toyota showroom.
The restaurant is spacious with almost all tables having privacy through curtains.
The service was fast enough as there was no rush. We were immediately served with some complimentary snacks.
We ordered Atish-e-Machli, which literally means fish on fire. This was a Pompret marinated in spices and charcoal grilled, served on sizzler. It was yummy, but the size was enough for only one person.
We then ordered some Rotis and Paneer Tikka Masala. This dish was made up of Paneer (cottage cheese) with a thick gravy of aromatic spices. The dish was tasty.
Point to be noted is that we specifically asked for the dishes to be made spicy. This is because most of the restaurants prepare less spicy dishes to suit the local taste. However such dishes are a bit bland for people of Indian subcontinent.
We appreciate that all the dishes (except the fish) had good quantity.
We closed with Malai Phirni, which is a North Indian dessert and our favorite. Served in mud bowls, this is the dessert to try.
Overall, Makani is a good option to try Indian cuisine, they have an extensive collection of sea food and non veg food. Notably they have a lot of lobster dishes, which will be fun for sea food lovers.

The ambience is pretty and has a lot of space . The service was really good . The food is worth spending the money over . The fish served were fresh and finger licking good . The Falooda could be a lil more better (according to the family review) .
Located off the Dhait road "hidden" behind the car showrooms, this place is a revelation! Lovely ambience, lots of seating arrangements and great food. Veg Tandoori Shashlik was outstanding as it was perfectly cooked with the right amount of masala. Tried Taftan bread for the first time...very fluffy and yummy. It has a strong yeast flavour which may not suit some people. Subzi Gulbahar and Tawa Gosht was also quite good. However I felt that the lamb could have a bit more spicy. Finally, a big thanks to Mr. Laxman for the lovely service.

It was wonderful having a great dinner over there at Makani... peacefull ambience and the way they received, treated us was so good which added extra taste to the food that i never experienced before in any of the restaurants!! Masala Chicken biryani , the presentation is like Gazebo Biryani (in mud pot) but it doesnt taste as Gazebo. The Dhal Thadaka and roti was Awesome.
They provide salad papad and pickle as starter. The cost wise it's on higher side.

Great place in RAK to have some indian food. Dal and butter naan were way above average. Even the chicken Biryani was good. I took my office colleague there after a meeting and they were very happy.

We found Makani from Zomato while returning from The cove rotana.
We were hungry and in dire need of india food.
Makani was a blessing, an absolute delight. Amazing food , great service and brilliant service.

We killed the food in 5min it was that amazing.

As part of a staycation we went to Makani Restaurant. We had a wonderful experience. The welcome and the ambience was very good. The service by the staff was very kind and pleasant. Thanks to Mr Tarikul, who was very courteous and caring to our group. It was overall a worthy dinner for our group.

I had gone with my family to Makani for dinner. We had a great experience. The restaurant has private enclosures, which gives you privacy and a sense of intimacy.
We had ordered tandoori platter, dal Makhani, paneer tikka masala and tawa sabzi. The tandoori platter and dal had a delicious authentic taste. And tawa sabzi was flavourful with a good blend of Indian vegetables.

We had Subzi Seekh Kabab which was crispy, tangy, spicy and it literally melted in our mouth.

This was not on Zomato at that time as it was a brand new restaurant however i went last week and ate and thought about rating it now. From kebab to biryani and from chatni to samosa everything is nice and delicious. Quantity, quality and price is fair and lots of parking available and dining space is huge. Loved this place and a must try for food lovers specially non vegetarians 🙂
Raan Biryani is one we ordered and it was good for 6 person to eat. The taste was amazingly delicious. Service and ambiance is very relaxing great place for family dining
Came as a surprise to us jst bcz the other restrnt we actually thought of visiting was fully packed and crowdy. And honestly we r glad that we decided to give Makani a try. Ambience was totally cool, spacious, colorful & well decorated with northindian touch. Dishes were exquisite, tasty, not at all too spiced, well balanced in the right amounts. We ordered 3 kinds of chicken gravies- butter masala, chettinad, kalimirch and a goan fish curry, tandoori rotis to go with and finally jeera rice. Chicken dishes were so creamy and amazingly tender. Fish curry was the best, slightly reminded us of our traditional native flavors. Jeera rice was absolutely light fluffy and flavourful on its own. On the whole it was truly a grt xprnce, food wasnt heavy nor too less. Should try kebabs and grilled items nxt time. Would definitely recommend Makani restrnt!!

An Indian restaurant catering the needs for the local population..they have their speciality 'awadhi' Cuisine or North Indian (UP).The ambience was good the food was too but the soup was thin and the chicken leg kabab was not that impressive.
Good food, good ambience combined with good service, all in all a good package. Must try the nalli, the kulfi and the taftans r yummy. Worth a visit.

Today was my first visit to Makani Restaurant and my first impressions were pretty good. This restaurant is located behind the new RAKBANK branch near the Al Futtaim showroom. It's also a very recent entrant into the RAK restaurant scene.
Makani seems to be a very large restaurant with a large square footage that is well decorated & well lit. The brand new furniture and the elegant interior is quite welcoming. The decor and seating arrangement reminded me a little bit about Gazebo in Dubai & Sharjah . Family areas are separated by tall drapes that can be opened up to entertain large groups.
This restaurant is part of a chain that has branches all over the UAE but it's my first time trying their food anywhere. Makani does purely Indian cuisine without even a single Chinese or indo Chinese option in their rather extensive menu.
My wife and I ordered the Ghosht kofta masala, murgh khairi kabab and tandoori rotis and to wash it all down we kept things fairly simple with a lassi and a bottle of water. The server bought us some roasted papad as an appetizer while we waited and they were good. Freshly roasted as well.
The food arrived after what I call a reasonable period and the kofta curry was pretty creamy and tasty without being overly spicy. It was fine for my palate but some Indians would probably prefer it to have more of a kick. The kofta balls made from mutton mince were flavourful and had a balanced spice mix. The tandoori rotis were pretty good and were still soft and pliable even after a few minutes.
The murgh khairi kabab actually came to the table first and they were moist, tender and juicy. The green marinade was pretty good and I enjoyed them.
Overall the food was fine and I paid just under 100 dirhams for the lot. I would like to try a few more items on the menu before I can give a definitive opinion on the food but what I had tonight wasn't bad at all.
Considering the ambiance & the service I would say that it ticks the box for value for money. Some items on the menu were a little pricey for what we are used to here in RAK but overall Makani is a welcome addition to RAK's list of dwindling (good quality) Indian restaurants and easily qualifies as an above average place to entertain guests for good Indian food.
