(التعليق الأصلي) Upscale Japanese dining. Very fine plate presentation and quality of ingredients & preparation. Overall quality is consistent in all my visits. The prices are high but comparable to similar level restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Restaurant ambiance is great. Compared to other Abu Dhabi restaurants, Koi is a 5 star place.

(التعليق الأصلي) We went here for my Birthday and went for the Gochiso Brunch at Night. Absolutely amazing food and service. The sushi is incredible. If you like 5 star Japanese food this is the place, also very reasonably priced for what you get. Shame there is not one in the UK.

(التعليق الأصلي) Easily one of the best brunches in Abu Dhabi. From the fresh sashimi, to the free flowing sake. to the tempura shrimps, to the salads, honestly I could go on. In my several visits, I have yet to come across a single misstep at Koi. From being greeted by your server with a chilled towel to dessert and final call, everything moves flawlessly. The service is excellent, and the prices fair for what you are getting. I cannot recommend Koi highly enough.

(التعليق الأصلي) I had Friday brunch and it was great. Nice interior and mood, very friendly staffs, much better than expected. Recommend reservation, quite crowded. We thought it was buffet but actually they served all of food on the menu and you can ask more.

(التعليق الأصلي) Austin the manager was very helpful. The food is unreal, one of the best in Abu Dhabi for sure! The service was slow. The atmosphere was great!

(تمت الترجمة بواسطة Google.) نحن نتعامل مع koi لتناول وجبة الغداء يوم الجمعة الذي يفتح من الساعة 12:30 حتى الساعة 16:00. (التعليق الأصلي) We wnet to koi for Friday brunch which opens 12:30 to 16:00..it is nice expect the miso soup is a little salty and tempura is very different from the Japinese one.

The staff is outstanding and the food to match. I especially like the grilled sea bass Wow! Bad news is the side dish I had with my fillet mignon was so small I was about to ask the waiter if it was on its way or perhaps they forgot it because I didn't even notice it! It was gone in 3 bites, so if you want a carb to go with your meat, order an additional side dish. I have to add that the prices are too high as well, I'm sorry but no matter how good a dish is it can't cost that much. I've eaten steaks around the globe and compared to others I'd say Koi's prices are about 50% in excess. We'll go again, but not too often.

We attended Koi's masterclass on sushi making with a group of friends and we must admit that it was one of the best experiences we've had in Abu Dhabi. Besides creating and enjoying our makis, the three hours were full of great instruction, handy tips and a rare insight into a restaurant kitchen. We felt truly welcomed and attended to throughout the whole course. Thank you so much for offering this awesome feature!

Had an amazing brunch on 3rd August as ever the food was heavenly, staff gracious and location perfect.
Mike Cairney
The Saturday evening brunch runs from 7.30pm for 3 hours and the menu is set and served to your table - but take a big appetite - it just keeps on coming - circa 14 dishes from soup through salads through sushi through mains and a pudding with alchohol package sees incredible value. All excellent dishes and served in a very attentive way.
Shun Priscilla
Enjoyed the food, service and helpful personnel. The only hic was the music, a little bit too loud to make a normal conversation.
Lolla Terry
Great place and service was excellent! It's nice to see that service like this still exists as it is hard to come by in the UAE. I would recommend the Thursday night brunch. Keep it up guys!
Patty Valle Kafati
We only had sashimi and sushi rolls, they were really good. The service was surprisingly good, I forgot my reading glasses and the waiter brought me a pair! Fantastic!
Maria T. Resele
Good food, good services and great atmosphere. We're pleased, but the chopsticks were presented cheap way (no chopsticks holder).
Bróna Clarke
Incredible service, didn't have to ask once for any beverage or food, they anticipated each and every need and we felt so spoilt, best service in Abu Dhabi!!! Su Latt was absolutely amazing, I wish I could have her in each an every restaurant I visited, I've never felt more at home in a restaurant :) amazing woman!!
Nupur Volk-Talukder
Very disappointed!! I ordered food over an hour ago, and nobody showed up yet!! I call the given numbers and NO one is answering the phone!! is this a joke?! I don't think it's funny and will definitely not order or dine at your restaurant!!
Andrew Davies
Amazing food, great service, excellent ambience and not to many people. I would certainly go again.

The best Sushi & Sashimi we ever had - excellent and very attentive service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We absolutely had an amazing Evening Brunch! Can't wait to come back
Mike Smith
Excellent food and reasonable price. The black cod was fantastic.
Ric Fang
The food is more than we expected good and Staffs are too nice. At first I thought I need choose from the menu but actually they just provide everything from the menu one by one. I hardly finish the whole menu. But each dish is so tasty and I can not stop trying everything. This brunch is a must try for Japanese food in town.

Nice restaurant with a nice romantic atmosphere , the food is pleasant and wow but its good , one of my options in AD <br/><br/>المطعم حلو وينفع حق الطلعات الرومانسيه جوه رومانسي ... الاكل حلو مب واو بس يعني حلو عندهم اطباق حلوه مثل ال rock shrimps

I went here for dinner with colleagues. We ordered a variety of tempura, shushi and sashimi. Eveything was extremely delicious.<br/><br/>I ordered Robata Master Kobe for mains. The meat was of grade 9+ which is as good as it can get. By the time my main arrived, I was already full as I had lots of sushi, sashimi and tempura by then and was not sure if I could finish this. But the meat just melts in the mouth. I finished it in no time, extremely tender for a medium-well done and very delicious.

Part of the St. Regis Collection, this contemporary Japanese Restaurant came all the way from LA to Abu Dhabi! <br/>A lot of details and love put in the way the food is prepared and presented. <br/>A fine dining experience not to be missed.
DOT On Her Way
Koi is an international brand built on the foundation of world-class contemporary Japanese cuisine. With locations in Bangkok, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York, the Abu Dhabi location maintains the superb quality of service, ambiance, and excellent essence that is food and drinks. As you enter, the ambiance gives you a traditional Japanese vibe. It is set with the slightly darker wood-coloured furniture set in large space. Being part of the St. Regis – Collection outlet, it holds itself in high regard and certainly delivers on multiple fronts.

I had a table booking with Koi for a special occasion. I must say that the team was rather helpful and accommodating when it came to my request for the waiters to sing when they brought the mini-cake for my husbands mini surprise birthday. They had informed me that only one person usually comes with the cake to say happy birthday but when I explained that it is always nicer when its a bunch to come along with the cake- they tried to please me and they did. However, I do believe that all restaurants should have this kind of style of presenting for special occasions as it is more effective - plus customer satisfaction is a reflection of the feedback and the satisfaction of the restaurant. In terms of our food, the food was good, but I can't say that it was wow, but it wasn't bad either. I wanted to give a rating of 3.5 but that is not possible with the current rating system and I also decided on a 4 as I also considered their service and the execution of my request, and giving them a 3 for the food would not be fair. One more thing is that I think that in terms of the price of the items, it's a bit on the pricey side. We ate mainly appetizers and sushi and the bill was about 600 AED, which is honestly kind of too much. However, in general we were satisfied.

An restaurant with vibrant atmosphere and interesting design. It s located in a beautiful resort that will add to your food experience. I will recommend the place for sushi and drinks and having fun.

Fantastic, had a great time and cool dining experience. <br/>Must try the peppercorn beef and sticky toffee pudding - mind blowing!<br/>We also had the teriyaki lamb chops and tempura. <br/>Food was amazing.

Went during winter. The outdoor seating with the view was magnificent. The ambience is great and cozy. The food is great too and the staff were super friendly.
Hussain A. Hathiyari
It was an absolute stunner experience. The food in particular is very high standard. A lot of detailing and Finess. We were hosted by the Head Chef himself. Chef Pushpender recommended combinations of the signature Appetisers and Rolls. Short ribs and Black Cod was beautifully cooked. It was an ideal dinner date with my best half.
Fatma
Loved the ambiance and food. The peppercorn fillet mignon is perfectly cooked and very well seasoned, creamy rock shrimp is so good as well and the sushi too.
CS
Had lobster tacos and the Koi sushi roll on a Monday. There’s 50% off for Emirates residents on Mondays that incentivises me to go back, but otherwise I wouldn’t visit again. The food is okay, but really not worth it if you compare the prices of other sushi restaurants. I also find their dress code quite pretentious lol.
Abdul Aziz Al Kaabi
The food is outstanding and quality of servics is excellent. It's not the first timd for me to visit them and absolutely will come again. Highly recommended.
Shaikha_alh
I went there once and not planning to go back again, the food was normal and it took them a long time to serve it although we were the only couples in the restaurant.

This was my second visit to Koi with my friends and had an amazing time. The ambience was lovely. They have indoor and outdoor lounge area. As the weather was good, we sat outside. The staff were friendly and the ambience was great. We started off with the eel dragon roll shrimp tempura, which is sooo tasty and a must try. We also had the spicy shrimp tempura which was average. For the main course we orderd the Grilled lamb chops with Ichimi glaze and mashed potatoes, which was amazing, the meat was soo soft and the mashed potatoes was mind blowing along with that we ordered the Peppercorn Filet Mignon, which was well done and was good. Overall, had an amazing time and I will definitely go back for the dragon roll and the Grilled lamp chops😍😍

Absolutely the best brunch I've ever been to. Delicious food, amazing cocktails and the staff are so attentive. Really worth a visit. The menu is superb all served to the table and you can ask for more of the dishes. Will be going again soon for sure.
Abdulkader Lamaa
The food quality is top notch. The ambience is warm and relaxed ideal for a romantic dinner or friendly get together. The outside seating is pretty cool during the winter season.
Kamal Raza
superb service and brilliant music and a gorgeous venue ...but....the food was a mediocre.<br/><br/>Had the short ribs. the meat was well cooked but the sauce was super salty and the risotto was veey bland.<br/><br/>The seared tuna apitiser was small and again no really stand out flavours.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>

Koi is a nice restaurant for a friend's gathering. I 've been there twice for night brunch and I find it a very good deal! The food is good in general but the carpacccio and the fried shrimps are amazing! The atmosphere is nice, although a bit dark. The staff is friendly and helpful! I do recommend a visit.

Hands down, Koi is an experience of a lifetime. <br/><br/>I went in thinking I'd be adventurous enough to just try the signature Dragon Roll as it had eel and I think it'd be fair to say any beginner would be apprehensive about eel. But it was the most delicious thing ever! I had to duel my friends to snatch some dropped tempura crumbs. <br/>I can't remember the exact names of the dishes we ordered but the mashed potatoes literally melted in my mouth and the chicken dish I had actually left me speechless. I was clearly not the only one overcome with the flavours - my boisterous friends who had a lot of gossip to share were also feeling "one" with the dishes. Our waiter was quite helpful as well. <br/>Whenever winter does actually come to this forgotten side of the wall, I'm headed straight to Koi. They have a cute little dimly-lit area outside where you can dine. <br/>It's been a year since I've dined there and nothing has you beat yet, Koi. :)

We were at Koi for the Gochiso Brunch on Saturday. Food wise it is a replication of the Friday brunch, but in the evening, and a mixture of japanese and "best of Asia" dishes, served as a set menu. While I found most japanese dishes, especially the sashimi and the miso cod excellent, I was less excited with the pan-asian dishes. These were mostly bland in taste, and added up to too much food for a dinner. <br/>the ambiance of Koi is dark and stylish, the music was upbeat and set a good mood. <br/>Service was a bit slow and could have been more attentive. <br/>Overall I was not too convinced about this evening brunch concept. What I would have wished for was a stronger focus on japanese dishes. For example I missed something as elementary as nigiri sushi on the menu.<br/>Against that background I also found the price of 295 AED for the non-alcoholic package a bit on the high side (sweetened by an entertainer deal).<br/>Update June 2018: meanwhile we have been here here for the Friday brunch and that was the real japanese deal. Food quality was excellent, the quantity actually hard to handle, especially since one can re order from the starters. the 345 AED including taxes and fees are perfectly appropriate in my view. Recommended!

I am writing this review only because I wanted to share how awesome is Koi's Coconut Tapioca.  The presentation and the flavor was A++.  It's a must try.  Also, the sushi and shasimi was served fresh and cold!  Monday has a 50% off of selected menu.

Based on the average reviews of 4.3 on Zomato (as of July 2017), location & cuisine, I thought this would be a great place for a special occasion. I was wrong and very disappointed. 5/5 for service (serviced by Kartik who was fantastic), but there was nothing wow about the food. I had gone for the Saturday Gochiso brunch, and the experience of a sit down buffet was nice but ultimately we never ordered any seconds. The best dish was the first starter of spicy miso soup, then went downhill from there. Would I come back? No. For better value for money and consistently good food I kept thinking of PF Chang's.

I had visited Koi along with my sister for their Saturday Gochiso Evening Brunch and we were very satisfied! The place has a very nice ambience however at one point I did find their lights to be a bit too dim. But the food was amazing! No complaints whatever. The dessert included a sticky toffee pudding which was perfect!! The service was excellent as well. All in all, a great dining experience.

was staying in the st regis on weekend getaway so we reckon to just walk across the collections for dinner<br/><br/>we went on the evening brunch menu, pretty good deal to have sake, wine and other selections of alcohol beverage for less than 500 dhs per head.<br/><br/>the selection of sushi and sashimi was amazing.. unfortunatelt the indonesian gado gado and nasi goreng was a little bit of a dissapointment. but hey its koi! the japanese are good. ambience and dinner was serve at a good relaxed pace. quite a change to more hectic and fast pace dubai :) <br/><br/>would definitely return if im in abu dhabi again

I had very high expectations about this restaurant. Having visited their main branch in Los Angeles, I have to say that the food in Abu Dhabi needs some improvement. My favorite (black cod in Miso sauce) was dry. Desserts were not delicious.... overall, not worth the money

An international leader in contemporary Japanese cuisine, Koi has spread from LA’s West Hollywood district to Abu Dhabi. The restaurant is perfectly in keeping with its Saadiyat Island location and can be found tucked away in The Collection, an upmarket dining enclave set against the picturesque backdrop of natural sand dunes and palm fringed beaches.
Red Plate
I met friends here yesterday for Friday Brunch. We were quite a big group with six adults and five kids. We made reservation before hand which was a smart thing to do because the place was packed and was not able to accommodate any walk ins.<br/><br/>The restaurant is located in the shops area called The Collection at the posh St. Regis Saadiyat Island. For those not familiar with the area, The Collection is a set of carefully curated restaurants and boutique shops at the hotel's compound which mostly caters to its discerning clientele. With this as the concept, Koi is certain to impress.<br/><br/>Upon entering the restaurant, I was instantly hit by its modern and tastefully done interiors. Though somewhat muted, I still felt the Japanese influence in the design with the sporadic use of Japanese elements throughout. The place was polished without looking too sanitized, chic but not intimidating and lively yet serene. Well, the serene part goes when you have five kids in the group.<br/><br/>The staffs were courteous and pleasant. From the welcome greeting I got when I arrived to the thank you when we left, I felt the authenticity; the customer service did not feel mechanical. They were genuinely nice particularly with the kids. Overall service was good but with room for improvement. The concept should be better explained to first time guests like us. There was a little confusion on how we should order at the start. There should also be more flexibility especially for guests with children. The service has its own program and tempo - from soup going down the menu all the way to dessert - with each part an essential step. Kids have their own pace. From having just chicken, they wanted to jump to dessert when we adults were all still on maki. It took a while for the scoop of ice cream to be served. The crew was accommodating but needs to be more intentional when dealing with kids. <br/><br/>The food was very good but fell short of excellent. The serving was disproportionate towards the appetizers. We were served with four sets of each appetizer but only two sets of the main course. I don't know whether that was intentional. There was nothing stopping us from asking for more but that was a glaring difference. For me eating is like a storyline or a journey, each part builds up until the climax and then the ending. The appetizers set the right tone and provided a good build up. The salads were great. I loved the steamed chicken salad with sesame dressing. It was light and flavourful. Then we had the sashimi-tartar-tataki group. To say that the wagyu tataki was excellent would be an understatement. It was the only dish that our group repeated several times. Then we had the maki rolls, from which the salmon and unagi was the most memorable. The play of texture with the crisp outer layer, soft rice as the middle ring and the fleshy avocado-salmon-unagi core was impressive. The taste combination was also beautiful. The tempura came next. They were not your standard tempura in terms of look and flavour but both the prawns and chickens were good. The former a hit with some of my friends while the latter a favourite among the kids. The story continued to build up until this point and then there was the long pause before the main course arrived. This was to be the climax of the story. I was looking forward to the miso marinated black cod and the braised wagyu beef. The wagyu beef was very good. It was soft, juicy and delicious. The black cod was just ok. I had high expectations from this dish. I was hoping it will be at par with the Nobu or Zuma versions. It fell short in comparison. The miso marinate was not as pronounced and the cod was a tad too salty. It had sweet sauce on the side which you can 'glaze' it with but it was not enough to level with those two greats. The main course felt anti-climactic for me. Good thing we had sweet ending, literally, with the dessert platter giving a taste of beautifully crafted sweets.<br/><br/>Koi was highly recommended by friends and I concur that this is indeed an excellent restaurant. I came here with extremely high expectations and there maybe aspect that fell a bit short of that, the rest did deliver. Perhaps next time I can try their dinner service and without kids in tow. Perhaps I can see more of the refined service synonymous with the likes of Zuma which was my benchmark. I still think I can be wowed by the miso marinated black cod. This place is worth the travel all the way from Dubai. Perhaps in another weekend.

A great place for fine dinning, excellent food. Also a great place to hangout with drinks. If you go their try the fired calamari and the shrimp, they are excellent. Also, sometimes they have promotional offers which gives a lot of discount, do look out for that. The ambiance is also very nice, appropriate for fine dinning.

We met some friends for Brunch at Koi and we really enjoyed the food there, except the Spicy Miso Soup and the beef meat of the main course. I will give 5-stars for the Salman tartar, the fried shrimps, the calamar salad, the Sea bass fillet and the desert. Sushis could be better.  I wanna thank Karthik for taking care of us even after the service.
Marwa Al Blooshi
Very good place- on Monday nights; there is a 50% discount on selected dishes from the menu. <br/>My favorite starter was the Creamy Rock Shrimp Tempura and the main dish was peppercorn filet. My main dish was sooo delicious. I have ordered Sushi but I didn't like too much it was average.

Romantic settings don’t get more splendidly over the top than the chic restaurant , Koi that’s nested at the Capital. Ultra-efficient, warm and welcoming is like everything you want from a special date venue or a venue to celebrate your special day or a laid-back night out venue. They will promise you a utterly glamorous dinning experience in the most exquisite ambiance.

Review for Friday brunch <br/><br/>Let me start by giving a massive shoutout to the waiter who took care of us, Karthik! He made our dining experience such a bliss! Along with his colleague, Azemat, the two gentlemen provided us a very warm and friendly service. <br/><br/>Koi, being situated in one of the most prestigious locations in Abu Dhabi, is very classy and yet not over the top. Its interior is full of woods with dim lightings that make the place warm and romantic. You'll never miss the 2014, 2015, 2016 plaques on display awarded to them by TimeOut. <br/><br/>The "outdoor" tables are not really outside but instead on the edge of the restaurant with high ceilings covered by lattice woods (that one my friends pointed out to be a bit distracting because of mixed patterns) looking through the external area of the complex. We got some fresh air whilst sat in there which was lovely. Its like a private area separated by half wooden, half glass door from the indoor dining section. <br/><br/>Food! Where do I start? Can I just simply sum it up by saying Koi's standard is one that might be very (I mean, very!) difficult to beat. The quality of each dish in terms of presentation, freshness, flavour, uniqueness- truly amazing! They served it in portions that's favorable to us who didn't really want to get stuffed straightaway. The starters, after the soup, came in 2 or 3 batches as well as the mains. We love the fact that they take time and let us give them a go ahead to serve the next course. This way we got to enjoy each item being presented to us. There's only one plate of dessert at the end with 4 different sweets which were just enough. We get our drinks refilled every so often and got to try most of their mocktails and cocktails. Sparkling wines were also included in the package we chose.<br/><br/>Price: Good value for money for what you'll get especially if Entertainer voucher discounts are to be applied. There were four of us and we all opted for the alcohol package. Our total bill was about AED 1200/- or 350/- person.

I loved the ambience! Their salmon pate is supergood. Tried Salmon roe, could be a little more innovative in serving it with something that compliments it. The fillet mignon was juicy and tender. Sauteed tiger prawns were good too! I recommend both. For dessert, I ordered mochi ice cream, it was well done!

After much anticipation, I finally made it out to Koi last night.<br/><br/>Hearing all the buzz and feedback of this place from friends, was looking forward to an overwhelming culinary experience,....sadly it didn't happen for me.<br/><br/>Decor was beautiful and the outdoor table reserved for us was really nice and intimate, and very attentive service from our server; but I was honestly expecting more from the food,...maybe being a Monday night it was just an off night.<br/><br/>Spicy tuna sushi lacked texture, kinda mushy. spicy salmon sushi had bit of after taste that is not usually associated to fresh raw salmon. For me the sushi was a miss.<br/><br/>Creamy rock Shrimp tempura, a popular starter, was good but not outstanding compared to similar dishes I have had elsewhere.<br/><br/>Vegetable Tempura was fantastic, perfect balance between crisp and light, can say this was one of the better ones I have had anywhere.<br/><br/>For the main, I went for the grilled lamb chops. Generous serving portion. Decent, but for me lacked depth in flavor. Was also expecting a more tender texture of the meat.<br/><br/>Finished with the Mochi green tea ice cream...fabulous dessert.<br/><br/>On Mondays they have a 50% off menu which features a significant number of menu items at a great discount - that was a nice unexpected discovery to ease up the bill.<br/><br/>Overall decent, and again service and atmosphere was fantastic but can't say I'm yearning to go back for the food - I really hoped for a different outcome.<br/>

One of the best restaurent i have ever visited.....exquisite japanese cuisine....very good hospitality....Koi Dragon Roll Shrimp Tempura, eel, Baked Crab is their best and a must to try dish.....wud definitly visit again
ChasingHealth W All The Flavor
The service & staff is excellent however I was not impressed with the sushi selection compared to the one in Los Angeles. I went there for a ladies night expecting it to be packed on the weekend but sadly it wasn't , which is sad as the drink selection is good
Yasser Al Yousuf
Went with my team on a Thursday Night for a Farwell party... the place was empty on a weekend and though they had asked us to place our orders 3 days in advance, they ended up mixing our starters with mains and some people having no food while others having their main course before the starters... added to that the poor service where we had to at least ask for a drink 3 times and wait 20 mins to get it. Food was average although served either extra hot or cold

There’s quite a big reason why I thought of writing about the Koi Restaurant and Lounge again. It’s because of the Saturday’s Gochiso Evening Brunch that I recently went for. Now there are only two reasons why one would re-visit a restaurant – 1) Because the place is just so beautiful (say, for a date), and 2) One wants to check the consistency of the restaurant (on being able to provide the same quality of service and food). I must say that in addition to the above two reasons, I found my re-visit to Koi as more of re-entering a comfortable, yet familiar, place where I could expect excellent Japanese Food! One way of experiencing this was through Koi’s new Saturday’s Gochiso Evening Brunch.

مطعم ياباني متميز جدا للأكلات اليابانيه و كل شيء عجبني فيه من السمك المشوي و السوشي بالكنوى و الكيك والجو رومانسي والخدمه ممتازه وانصح فيه

Went for the Friday brunch with friends and was served by Ashish, a great gentleman who catered well to our needs. The brunch here is the type where you are served the items on the menu from starters to mains (with tons of stuff in between) and before dessert is served, you can re-order anything you like on the menu. We, however, were stuffed to the brim and didn't re-order anything so we continued on with dessert. There were some dishes made with alcohol, so we requested them to omit the alcohol. In conclusion, it definitely was a great sampler and I enjoyed the dishes served.

gorgeous, loved the food. the staff were so nice. big group of people, the food and quick. love st Regis hotel it's so romantic, one of my fav places ever!

Went here for my birthday and loved it. Amazing sushi, great staff and a nice atmosphere. Koi crispy rice was really something different. Will definitely go back again.

Perfect for date night as the staff were very amazing from me making the reservation to the food. Food was top notch and arguably one of the best sushi joints in the capital. The ambiance and decoration is great with very dim lighting that gives a very romantic atmosphere. You will impress your date by taking her here from the food to the experience. Highly recommended.
Faysal
Place is pretty fancy and chilled. The food was definitely good. Worth a visit if you are in Saadiyat or nearby. Place does get crowded though and music can be a bit loud (more of a lounge feel than a restaurant).
Tastentellme
I visited Koi for a brunch session for the very first time and absolutely loved it!<br/>The quantity of food and presentation of each dish was brilliant, the food was served in courses and was very fine dining👌🏼from the ambiance to the service everything was spot on!<br/>If your looking for Authentic Japanese cuisine then Koi is the place for you.😍

Out of all the sushi places in Abu Dhabi, this is my least favorite. I didn't like their sushi at all. Their salads and lobster tacos is meh. But I liked the atmosphere, and they have a really good service.

Valentine's may have passed, but the romance hasn't. Fresh from a fairy-tale-esque romantic Bali trip, where the better half popped the question (yes I am officially engaged) - he wished to commemorate the first day that we laid eyes on each other, by taking me to Koi - a contemporary Japanese restaurant, located at St Regis Resort, Saadiyat Island. Now to those who have been avidly reading about my life experiences, you would know that I simply love St Regis - I have come to call it my second home. So extra brownie points for taking me back to a place I have a close affinity to.<br/><br/>When entering into the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the dimly lit cavernous feeling of the place - the inviting bar lounge giving way to a romantic and intimate dining area - infused with simple yet trendy decor that gives the feeling of freshness, crispness and cleanliness. An aura of zen like peace and tranquillity envelopes you - suffice to say, the ambiance was top notch. <br/><br/>After being escorted to our table, we were introduced to Wiwid, our attendant par extraordinaire from the land of a thousand temples and a million smiles (Indonesia) - and it just felt like everything was coming together quite nicely. With a genuine warm smile and a twinkle in his eyes, he advised us that the restaurant is California-style Japanese and some of the dishes feature a contemporary take on Japanese classics - this got me intrigued. Whilst we were diligently studying the menu, Wiwid offered me a delectable Saketini cocktail - apparently this is one of their signature drinks, and truth be told it tasted divine (highly recommended).<br/><br/>We started out culinary journey at Koi, by feasting on slivers of salmon carpaccio and black truffles shavings in a ponzu dressing. I could never say no to salmon in all its beautiful omega glory - with the citrusy ponzu dressing, the salmon carpaccio proved to be a sensational and sophisticated opener to our culinary journey at Koi. The salmon tasted extremely fresh and it just melted in my mouth - brought a satisfying smile to our faces - definite winner.<br/><br/>We then moved on to creamy rock shrimp tempura - the tempura was brilliant - very light, crisp and really flavourful. The crispy pieces of fried shrimp slathered in a delicious sweet and tangy sauce had just the right amount of kick, proving to be another highlight of the evening. Both the appetizers set the bar very high - combination of flavours and textures heightened my expectation for the rest of the meal, and we wondered what other pleasant surprises were in store. <br/><br/>After ordering a refill of the amazing Saketini, Wiwid brought a sashimi platter to our table - and my jaw literally dropped. It was a work of art with the vibrant colours - the presentation took my breath away - it was so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat it. Wiwid turns up at our table again - this time with a fresh wasabi root, and proceeds to grate it in front of us, with a bit of theatre and gusto. The sashimi assortment consisted of toro, tuna, yellowtail, seabream, salmon and salmon roe. Needless to say, the pink toro with its rich buttery flavour was sensational. Come to think of it, I didn't even want to dip the sashimi into any sauces as the natural fresh flavour was so delicious - made for an explosive blend of quality and style.<br/><br/>The signature Koi dragon rolls followed next - crunchy shrimp tempura and baked crab are encased in a wrap of sushi rice and eel, with a blaze of mayonnaise and sriracha sauce. What can I say, cooked sushi at its best - had me wanting more, a lot more. <br/><br/>We decided to take some time to enjoy more Saketini's and were introduced to the resident mixologist Terence - who captivated us with a very interesting chat on how to make Saki. Fascinating really! By then the first of our main course was brought to our table - miso bronzed black cod. Once again, the presentation was amazing with the miso glaze a thing of beauty. The cod was cooked perfectly - I can't get over how soft and buttery the texture was, yet still delicate and flaky - it practically melted in my mouth. Top notch and highly recommended.<br/>Our second main course was "Kobe" style filet mignon with asparagus and mushrooms - served medium rare, turned out to excellent, really excellent - buttery in texture, succulent and tender with a wonderfully mild flavour. Possibly one of the best beef dishes I've had in a long time - got my stamp of approval.<br/><br/>By now, we were absolutely stuffed but after a short dessert presentation from our friendly server, I opted for the chocolate fondant, and was immediately transported to desserts heaven. It was an exquisite choice since the combination of sweetness, texture and flavours made each bite as gratifying as the next - perfect way to end the meal.<br/><br/>All in all, in Koi I may have found my favourite restaurant in Abu Dhabi and possibly the whole of UAE - everything came together perfectly that evening. The service was fantastic, presentation took my breath away and the food was top notch - will definitely return to try out more of their unique dishes, and most certainly for the Saketinis.

Peaceful and romantic setting, perfect for special occasions but too expensive for regular dining. Everything was delicious; tender and flavorful steak, soft and melts in your mouth fish with plenty of delicious sauce.

I'm a regular visitor to the St.regis hotel in Saadiyat and didn't realise the extra restaurants existed nearby.  We booked to go to Koi for a romantic birthday dinner on a Thursday night and it was amazing.  The decor is great not too dark and not too light, the hostess was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived.  The waiter seemed genuinely excited and told us all about the Sake options and it's history.  I'm personally not a fan of sake but he brought us some tasting options which made it a fun experience.  Outside of the sake the waiter offered to make us a special cocktail which was divine!<br/><br/>On to the food, everything was beautifully presented and came out in a reasonable time at the right temperature.  We had the lobster tacos, which were probably our least favourite, but still nice. We also had the sea scallops which were so good we ordered them again!  The mains were outstanding, as recommended by our waiter we had the black cod and the Toban-Yaki (kobe-beef).  The beef was definitely the star of the show, but we were already quite full by the time it came out.  As it was my birthday we had to get dessert, we had the chocolate fondant with the restaurant adding a candle!  It was their own take on this dessert but was still exceptional.<br/><br/>I am keen to try the brunch here on a Friday or even just go for a late night drink as the atmosphere was really buzzy.  Obviously this was quite an expensive evening but when the quality and experience is so high, you don't regret it.

I know i know a bit pricy but some dishes are yummy. Go for the dragon roll its so delicious it melts in your mouth. The lobster tempura is not special but the side dish asparagus is yummy if you needed a side.

Wonderful ambience, service and food! Their chef is actually Japanese! <br/>Must order the:<br/>- Crispy rice & tuna (one of the biggest tuna to rice portion I've ever had) <br/>- Toro sashimi!!! (I don't know how they sourced that excellent quality... But it's to die for. The picture says is all).. Not to mention the fresh wasabi that was grated just for us!<br/>- Rock shrimp tempura! (The best rock shrimp I've ever had, if you thought Okku had good rock shrimp, you haven't tried anything!! Fresh large rock shrimp battered, fried, and marinated with wasabi band Japanese mayonnaise cooked to perfection!)<br/>- Miso cod for main dish! Delicious consistent cooked perfectly to bring out the taste of the fish!<br/>Koi you're amazing! Keep it up.. Highly recommended!<br/>

Went for Friday Brunch.<br/>Japanese Fusion food was amazing. Lots of choice in the menu. Loved the beef and the sushis. <br/>Loved chicken popcorn but not anymore available. Bring it back please...<br/><br/>Sometimes slow to serve drinks
Mr And Mrs Brunch UAE
KOI as a brand Boasts locations in some of the swankiest cities on the planet, including LA, Las Vegas, 2 in New York, Bangkok, and ofcourse now Abu Dhabi. Add to that a Timeout Award for best Japanese Restaurant and the association by sheer proximity with the St Regis Saadiyat, which we personally awarded our “Brunch of the year for 2015” and it is safe to say that expectations of this Brunch were set at an almighty high.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Abudhabi, staff is extremely friendly, the ambience is very Zen and the location is great. The food is delicious and fresh, sushi is extremely good. Always a good idea and I always recommend Koi to everyone I know, you cant go wrong.

Overrated. An imitation of Zuma but no where close to it. The food is heavy and average at best. Service is slow. Decor is elegant and charming though.

Most Definitely a Brunch to try if you are a fan of Japanese Food ! <br/>Visit Koi for some premium quality Japanese Food !<br/>The free flow Friday brunch was a brilliant culinary experience..... Among the variety of dishes that were served... the wagyu tataki with truffle gonzo, the soft shell crab roll, the strip tempura roll, the wagyu steak, seafood croquette and the grilled lamb chops with miso sauce were instant favorites. <br/>The sticky date pudding was indeed a sweet ending to a brilliant meal.

While Hubs and I had been a few times with friends for drinks and dinner, I think the best way to experience Koi is for brunch. And there’s a very good reason…read on!<br/><br/>Reservations? Made, but completely unnecessary. We were one of two tables (perhaps this has changed and the restaurant has increased it’s clientele, but I would be surprised if this was the case).<br/><br/>Ambiance? Modern, cool, chic – definite wow factor. The bar is separated and there are numerous and cleverly designed private spaces. On the day we visited, after brunch, we retired to one of the open air tables which I really enjoyed.<br/><br/>Food? If it wasn’t for the cost, I think we would dine here more regularly (Koi is located in the Saadiyat Collection which is less than 10 minutes from my residence). However, for brunch, you basically have a chance to taste the entire menu. Unlike other brunches, this menu is served on an a la carte basis, which allows you to go through the high points of the menu and at the end order more of whatever you like best! While a traditional dinner seating would have everyone order their own starters and mains, the Koi brunch is a great opportunity to see what you enjoy best and then eat as much as you want (I’m looking at you, sushi). Add in unlimited champagne and you really can’t go wrong.<br/><br/>Service? As we were one of such a limited number of tables, I honestly felt spoiled to have an entire kitchen + wait staff look after us, but I’m not going to complain. We were very well taken care of. For each visit, it has been the same. Koi is great in hiring staff with personality and not the ‘ma’am/sir’ attitude.<br/><br/>Cost? We opted for the AED495 package (unlimited food and bubbles), however there are other packages available with just alcohol or soft drinks. I find this to be very reasonable. Furthermore, if you are a UAE resident, there have been a lot of Entertainer vouchers recently – Buy 1, Get 1 brunch (no alcohol) free – a great deal!

My first ever review on Zomato, simply because Koi deserves it! The tapas style brunch was worth every penny - wide selection of dishes, unobtrusive but detailed service, great quality and taste, lively atmosphere. One of the best brunches in Abu Dhabi so far. Freshness and quality of ingredients is noteworthy.

We had a great experience yesterday on their free flow friday brunch! The ambiance is very nice as well as the service, very friendly people! I Think this is the best japanese restaurant so far in Abu Dhabi, we'll definitely come back!!
Khulood Alreyami
It was a nice experience. The service, the ambience, and the food were nice. Nothing special. The notable dishes were the tuna tartar on crispy rice, the wagyu carpaccio, and the toro sashimi. We ordered plenty of menu items and we ended up raising and dropping our shoulders very briefly, and extended a courtesy smile. I think I have plenty of other restaurants to discover, and others I would revisit before going back.
The Flying Cookie
A neat sophisticated little restaurant that serves beautifully fresh and deliciously decadent Japanese fare amidst perfectly lit lanterns and sleek wooden interiors. <br/><br/>We ordered three different types of sushi and sashimi that came served on a bed of ice. It was definitely fresh and a wonderful start to our culinary journey in Koi. <br/><br/>For mains we orders mixed seafood tempura platter that included crisply battered prawns, scallops and succulent prices of fish. <br/><br/>The highlight of our meal, I dare say, was definitely the KOI Saketini, a colourful blend of sparkling wine, lychee juice and elderflower syrup!!<br/><br/>A must go to place anytime!!

It's the first time I write a review on any place. We booked for the "Super Dinner Club" that is available every Thursday night. We were a group of 12 people. The restaurant booked for us the private section, which is basically a big fancy room beside the lounge with it's own bar and 2 waiters for our area. I must say we were impressed by the staff, food, atmosphere and most of all the package. Everything was excellent and the "Super Club" is a very good deal. Tapas were running down our tables and the waiter kept refilling our drinks. I highly recommend this place.

<br/>Koi's Thursday Supper Club is a God sent for nocturnal creatures like me. It doesn't start till 930pm and goes on past midnight so there is plenty of time to stuff myself with fine Japanese bites and get sloshed with the cocktails. <br/><br/>Here's the deal ... <br/><br/>The Food - seriously good quality and fine in taste. You start with edamame or nori chips and then work your way to more substantial selections such as yakitori chicken skewers (very succulent and tasty), tsukune skewer (sort of a minced chicken meatballs ... My least favorite as the taste is abit average), creamy rock shrimp tempura (this is my favorite as the shrimps are fleshy, beautifully seasoned, battered and crunchy) , steamed beef buns (soft braised beef) and salmon and avocado rolls (super fresh and soft). They will start you off with a bento set sample of the above and anytime you can ask for extras of any one or all of it. 3 rounds was pretty much what we can handle. <br/> <br/>The staff - extremely friendly and ethusiastic in ensuring your glass is never empty and the food is enough. <br/><br/>The ambience - restricted to the bar section of the restaurant is cozy and accentuated with soft lightning, vibrant energy from the stylish crowd and great groove from the resident DJ. <br/><br/>The drinks - great selection of beer, cocktails, wines and mixes. (PS. Will be it perfection if there is some sake or sake infused cocktails) <br/><br/>This is definitely different from the usual brunch. The spread is not as extensive but the quality makes up for it and you will end up as stuffed as you would at the usual brunch. Makes a great social night out for couples and friends for sure. <br/><br/>We had so much fun, good food and drinks at our first ever evening brunch that we are still raving about it to each other days after. <br/><br/>Greedygourmetjournal.wordpress.com

Food was perfect. Service was perfect. music didn't suit the atmosphere & was loud for a Friday night early dinner. Other than that everything was perfect.

I tried Koi when I was there for the ripe market. Great location and ambience, variety of seating areas. The food was flavorful. <br/>But I have a bad memory their, after I left the restaurant, I forgot my bag full of organic tea boxes that I've just bought from the ripe market, and I never found it although I called after couple of hours when I noticed them missing :(

Where to start on Koi...this is one of the most amazing Japanese resturants in the city. I have been to the brunch more than 5 times already. This is not a typical buffet brunch..it is a set menu brunch where you order all what you want from a menu and food is prepared fresh before serving it at the table. Sashimi is a melt on your mouth affair. Sushi is amazing. Great Wagu beef stripes drenched with amazing sauce. Creamy rock shrimp is to die for. Desserts are limited but still good. Service is top notch. A must try.

Thursday night "brunch" is awesome! Unlimited prosecco and yummy food with great service. For only 195 aed it was a great deal. Will definitely go back!

Second time here and i can assure you i would come back again and again! Beautiful location at the St regis sprawling and luscious grounds and valet service is always a plus. Inside the atmosphere is cool and chilled out with nice music. Drinks here re amazing we had the pomegranate and mint mock-tails and the honeymoon, perfect blend of fresh fruits and nicely presented.<br/><br/>Food wise I would say this place is Zuma's competition with a nice selection of unique sushi rolls as well as the regular. I went for the baked scallop on California roll and spicy tuna both perfect, lobster tacos and creamy rock tempura which i recommend both as they were delicious, seaweed salad and Chilean sea bass.<br/><br/>Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cant wait to go back again and try out other things on the menu.<br/>

We went to St.Regis Saddiyat Island for the weekend and Koi was in the same vicinity so we decided to do the Friday brunch there which I can say was one of the best decisions over the weekend. A wide variety brunch and extremely warm staff and a great ambience. My favourites were the sashimi platter, black cod, lamb chops and the chocolate mousse.

The best experience to me in Abu Dhabi so far, chilled-out atmosphere, great wine, very good SUSHI, lovely music, excellent hospitality.. for sure it's highly recommended ..

As a huge Zuma fan I thought it would be impossible to find another Japanese restaurant on par with it in the UAE...until we decided for a long weekend at St Regis Saadiyat Island. Located in The Collection (opposite the hotel), Koi is a suave restaurant serving top quality sushi with a modern twist. They offer gluten free and pure vegetarian menus in addition to a vast list of cocktails, saki, wines and champagne. My favourite were salmon carpaccio, black truffle and citrus sauce and the Rock N Roll signature rolls which come with a sprinkle of gold leaves (yes that's right!). A must for all sushi and Japanese food lovers.

Koi is one of my favorite restaurants in Abu Dhabi. I love their ambience, service and food. I would recommend this place to all sushi lovers. For starters, try their lobster tacos and dynamite shrimps (be careful they are a bit spicy but very tasty). Must try is dragon rolls (I don't remember the exact name but these are fried hot rolls) they are very nice. They have good selection of wine as well as Japanese drinks. They have only few mocktails but they are special and unusual. I recommend the one with passion fruit. I never tried desserts. But guess they should be good.<br/>I was satisfied with the service. The staff is friendly and helpful. I rate this place 4.5 as they need to improve outside sitting arrangements. Its romantic and nice but it would be good if there was ac or fan. In fact they have fan on the ceiling but it wasn't working when i was there. This is the only disappointing point. In general i like this place and highly recommend. I can't say it was very expensive, maybe a bit more than average.

Such an amazing experience. My wife and I came for brunch and had the best server we have ever had in Abu Dhabi! The ramen was spectacular, the wings were cooked perfectly. The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked perfectly as well. The sushi was great, as would be expected from Koi. The cream caramel was the best part of dessert. We would definitely come again.

The food here is good, but not that consistent. Also, the atmosphere isnt all that it waz very quiet which could make it more romantic but i like a more lively place. The crispy rice, lobster tacos, maki rolls, black cod, grilled tiger prawns and needless to mention chocolate fondant were all good, other things I tried were not all that and not worh mentioning. It is on the pricier end too.
Ahmad
Good food, service not bad, not sure why it is not busy when other very similar restaurants with the same price range are packed. Maybe it is the location. Their lobster tacos, although overpriced, are very good.
Luis Alonso
The place is really nice the atmosphere is great for a date or for a private dinner. The staff is very friendly and they have a good attention of the costumer. The food I would rate it as average but is good maybe the dishes that I asked wasn't the best. Definitely I would give them another chance specially for that private atmosphere that u don't get easily.
Suha
Amazing experience fantastic food very artistic dishes and great staff who are very helpful and know the menu to the very small details ,, highly recommended place at beautiful Sadiyat Island <br/>

KOI is a recently opened Japanese restaurant at the St. Regis on Saadiyat Island, which is just a 5 minute drive from our flat. The setting is quiet and calm, with a nice outdoor seating area that is right on the hotel’s main courtyard. The courtyard, although lined with a few other popular eateries, manages to stay quiet and cool in the night air. KOI specializes in contemporary Japanese, and also has a large selection of very fresh sushi.

My favorite Sushi place in Abu Dhabi! I always recommend it to my friends who are looking for a good sushi place in AD. The food, the staff, the atmosphere is all so lovely!!
Fatema Al Harbi
The food was amazing (ordered sushi with shrimps) and ambiance, we sat outside, they had like cubicles which made it very private. We went without booking but would recommend booking just in case.@

Beautiful place for a romantic dinner or special celebration. A bit more expensive than most asian restaurants. Delicious food and specially loved the black cod. Im not a fan of their sushi. I have had much better sushi before. Excellent service. Definitely a must do again!

Love love love. Decor is beautiful and the food is always delicious however very expensive and tiny portions. Great for a special meal, birthday etc.

Located in the collection next to st regis. Food is very fresh and service was excellent. Pearl our server was wonderful and have great sense of humor. While dinner was not cheap, we find it well worth it. Much better than the Nobu experience at dubai for that matters. <br/>

I've been there once and I loved it. It was a long way back but I always hold it in the highest esteem and it's my reference to other sushi experiences<br/>Would love to go there again and try it out for the second time . I'm sure it will be a pleasant experience and I'm expecting my next review to be a 5 star rating . <br/><br/>Looking forward for my next dine in

I can say its one of the most best japanese resturants ive been to. Very welcoming staff. BUT their service was taking for ever uhhh. Totally recommened for sushi lovers ❤️
Afra
Great food, nice knowledgable staff who are welcoming and advise on the menu. Lots of choice including for veggies which is always a plus. Only downside is they need more mocktails to go with their extensive alcohol menu! <br/><br/>Has been deemed "better than Zuma" by my two sushi-loving friends who I went with so definitely worth a visit!
Rashid Alhosani
Truly one of the best Japanese restaurants in Abu Dhabi. <br/><br/>The spicy tuna tartar on crispy rice and dragon roll were both really good starters. <br/><br/>For the main, I'd recommend the Kobe filet mignon. <br/><br/>I'm definitely going back to try the other menu items!
Maitha
The best food and service! My favorite restaurant in Abu Dhabi by far???? delicious food every time and refreshing drinks! If you haven't been there, its a must!

I drove a very long distance to reach Abu Dhabi saadiyat island , and I have been calling them for more than 30 minutes and no one seems to pick up the phone, after arriving they wouldn't let me in because of "dressing code" which they never mentioned on Zomato.<br/><br/>Now my friends are sitting inside enjoying the dinner while I'm sitting in front of the restaurant waiting for them to finish, how frustrating could it be.<br/><br/>So disappointed that the manager didn't do anything about it except the "apology" plus he checked my phone if I was really calling them or not, and he admitted that the number was correct.. But yet so embarrassing that all what he gave me is a plain face.
Mariam
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants, excellent service, beyond amazing creativity when it comes to the food and drinks. Full of flavor, absolutely delicious, and each dish has it's own mystery taste behind it. Loved it!<br/>
