MATSU is a Japanese restaurant located in the yas links of yas island. The restaurant is not only Japanese by name but the owners of the restaurant have brought the culture and tradition of Japan in the heart of Abu Dhabi. I found the entrance of the restaurant quite dramatic as when we watch some movie portraying Japanese culture showing barrels, Japanese style curtains with traditional inscriptions over them, cozy ambiance with those dim lights, live cooking stations etc. The restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating arrangements with quick and accurate service.
We have always been really fascinated with Japanese soups. Let me tell you a secret we cake to know about a Japanese tradition that in Japan one drink soup after the whole meal and not before the meal like we normally do. We tried some of their chef recommended dishes and totally love the food and taste of each and everyone of it. We had kamameshi vegetable rice, spicy tuna maki, crispy Ebi maki, salmon tataki, Tofu salad, chicken teriyaki and Maguro (Tuna) Steak. The dishes were followed by some mocktails from which we had ordered strawberry cooler, passion fruit and coconut delight. Drinks were very refreshing and good in taste. From dishes, tofu salad, salmon tataki, kamameshi veg rice, chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna maki were the showstoppers first me. We also get to taste their sushi and we loved both the flavors. Their management from manager till the waiters everyone was hospitable and great in their jobs. We loved visiting them and would definitely be going there soon.
Their desserts are simply out of the world. We tried their pistachio ice cream and totally loved the presentation and taste of the ice cream. Also we got to eat their home made cheese cake which was nothing but like a butter. It was so good to be treated with those desserts. It’s a highly recommended place.

Firstly, the place is already almost authentic Japanese and the food... OMG really tasty and superb and the staff and the owner itself are amazing people. Dining and spending a time and enjoying the food and the view and the place is somehow out of the stress in the city life. By far it is one of the best Japanese Restaurant and only constraint is transportation.
