Fabulous dinner in Abu Dhabi. Vast options of cuisine and desserts. The dimsums were so awesome and authentic. When it come to pasta and pizza you will get fresh and crisp too. Indian options are also too good. And the most appreciated thing was their service. Thank you so much Mr Kumar Gaurav for your service.
Looking forward
There are dining experiences in which all the elements come together to create an enduring memory, one that will be topic of conversation even for years ahead – and such is iftar at the Ritz-Carlton. The location is new Abu Dhabi’s dream – directly across from Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and on the waterfront of the Grand Canal.

Went for the legendary brunch on Friday, it is truly legendary. The food is very good, the plating is amazing. The service is fantastic. The brunch is highly recommended and is definitely the best brunch ive been to in Abu Dhabi
Great service and high quality food very testy special thanks to Mr.Hussein izriqi for his warm welcome and highly appreciated for his corporation
At first, I was overwhelmed by the venue. Giornotte has a great presence and will entice you with its decor. But I went there to eat from the buffet, not the decor. The Grill was fantastic, but the Grill duck not so tender, the lamb chops tasted more like grill than lamb. The Moutabal was too salty and the eggplants did not tasted like they were grilled. But fresh juice, cute little custom made canapes. The braised duck seared with onions and parsley was devine. The oven baked sea bass was tender, soft and juicy. Cheese delight. The desserts were light (unthinkable!), three helpings with a coffee and I was not full. A great evening, great attentive service.
This is my second visit to Giornotte @ the ritz carlton hotel.
The brunch buffet was good but didn't set the same standard compared to last year's experience I had which was outstanding.
Seafood station was great with oysters; prawns; crayfish; mussels; calamari and crab as your cold dishes.
The different flavoured sauces were really good to compliment the dish.
The sushi; dynamite prawns and Korean chicken was a winner.
The entree dishes were really classy and never dissapointed.
The beef station offered prime rib; veal; duck breast; veal belly and lamb.
I was dissapointed by the guy cutting up the prime rib as he never understood well what I requested.
Slicing up meat should be done to the request of the guest and he gave me thinly sliced rare meat pieces which I told him I would prefer a thicker cut medium prepared with some outer fat.
Also I never asked him for the bone of the prime rib and he just placed it In my plate which I then just settled for.
The sauces and mashed potatoe that complimented the meat was tasty.
The veal belly was my favourite.
Deserts were tasty but would love to find a greater variety with less sugary desserts to balance it out.
Great ambience; lovely entertainment ; freindly staff.
Would definately recommended it for spoiling your loved ones.
Thanks to the entire team at giornotte
if you are fond of buffet, this restaurant is for you, there is lot of variety in main course, and taste is just so awesome and delicious, one can go here for a lunch or dinner buffet, service is awesome staff is freindly
After trying several Iftar buffet in Abu Dhabi, I can say this is the best in city. Large variety of food and cuisines. Very tasty food. Friendly staff. Well organized place
Differently recommended
Went here for the Iftar dinner buffet with our company.
Food was good. Too much variety that I do not know what to take. It was arabic/ international dishes. The ambience is fine. I think it has less staffs that accodomate the guests.
I went to the Ritzcarlton for their Ramadan Iftar at Giornotte. The restaurant was a bit crowded but I was impressed with their wide selection of dishes, beautiful ambiance and a live musician playing beautiful melodies on an arabic harp (Qanun). They had a wide variety of traditional cold arabic mezzes and all kinds of hot dishes like fresh curries and pastas, Moroccan tangines, camel ouzi, and of course all of the grilled meat you can think of. For dessert, I indulged in some arabic stapled like kunafa, as well as various cakes and a fantastic gelato selection.
P.S If your looking for proper Iftar with arabic ambience and beautiful setup I highly recommend to try them.
I went there for a business dinner last Thursday. There was a elaborate selection for the main course, grill, fruits, drinks & desserts. Quite awesome & extraordinarily delicious servings. Enjoyed the experience. It was quite a treat for the mind & gut.
I tried breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast was ok not very various, but i liked the mozzarella and tomato and the different choices of eggs. I had poached eggs, omelette and fried eggs.
For lunch I literally didnt like anything the first day but the 2nd day pasta red sauce was good and some noodles.
For dinner I think its the best, i had steak very tasty with some truffle mashed potatoes.
Dessert buffet was good.
The best interiors and we'll furnished restaurant. Really worth for the money.
My favorite is Mergeritha and Chicken Briyani.
Must try restaurant for the families.
My rating is 4/5
The place is so amazing
Decorated brilliantly with all the stylish and lavish interiors open and large dining area
Offers a great seafood
I just loved it here
Ambiance was really nice here
Well prices were little bit high
And excellent food quality
Highly recommend this place to all
We tried the iftar at Giornotte and we simply fell in love with it! It's definitely one of the best in town!
Everything is perfect, from the huge variety and quality of food to the general ambience of the restaurant. The only suggestion I can make is that its missing a little bit of Asian/seafood cuisine.
The staff are kind and helpful, and are really ensuring that you enjoy your time there.
Totally worth it! It's the kind of iftar you want to take your friend and family to! We're looking forward to coming back!
I posted a first review about Giornotte and it was not a good one. But gave them a second chance and this time was the good one.
The staff is very friendly and attentive to our requests.
The food is good . There is a lot of choice. But personnally I think it would be better if there is more pastries choices.
Price is 131/ pers which is slightly above the average for breakfast but worth it.
Will I recommend it now? Sure and thanks to the team
We tried the dinner open buffet. I was expecting something more actually. The salad bar was the best i guess . There were no hot appetizers like kebbeh sambosak and so on . I think it was replaced by the pasta station which was delicious really . The main courses have a good variety but we used to find a kind of rice main course like ouzi bryani or maqloubeh that was missed . And we use to find grills plate every where in the open buffet and it was missed also. Nothing was special really about the food. The desserts bar was fine . I loved the ice cream . I asked to prepare a happy birthday decorated plate and the guy on the desserts bar was so co operating . Staff are so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and the out side seating area are amazing.
The stay in Ritz Carlton hotel was very comfortable and their food makes the place special. Food was superb and fresh. Inside the ambience was good, the pool side dining was awesome. They serve tender coconuts chilled and fresh.
I went here tonight with office colleagues. Had the dinner buffet. Quite a "spread out" spread, but not much in terms of variety. I liked the salad section. The hot section wasn't much to write home about. The churned butter brand they keep is amazing. I liked the Med./Arabic counter as well. The South Indian pasta chef is a charming personality who interacts with guests well. I tried a bit of everything. Other than the gelato, the desserts didn't really impress me. The coffee was good. Service was so-so. Could do with a bit more sophistication, dialogue & senior crew checks. All in all, I was moderately happy.
I made a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday and specified over the phone that we were celebrating his birthday. On the day we dined there I had to remind them that it was his birthday and they arranged a piece of complimentary cake (picture provided). Apart from this, the food, the ambience and the service was excellent!
We went here to a dinner buffet on a weekday. The food on offer was not so exciting. I loved the doneness of their meat dishes. I particularly loved their um ali.
They offer a great deal for etihad staff and that's why we were there. My favorite thing about brunches is their endless supplies of desserts and this place had a satisfying range. The overall experience was great. We went on a Sunday so it was peaceful and the staff were attentative. Your pastas are made to order and they arrive hot, fresh and delicious. The portions are big so if you want to try other dishes, it's best to share. Great variety of salads and even though food are left out, they still taste good.
This is just one of those place you have to go to in Abu Dhabi the only negative is the limited range of Drink you can order ( beer wine & white rum and coke ) but made up for by all the cocktails freely avaible around the buffet area, the food is just amazing cheese room, desert room, meat meat all you can eat from seafood to Cow to lamb and duck it's all here ..except for the pork. but all up a must go to at least once Friday Brunch experence HUGE Range Amazing 4 or so hours .
We went with three adults and two children. By far the best Friday Brunch around!
There are numerous drink stations (Mojito station was very popular, but also on offer at stations were cosmopolitans, Margaritas, and Bloody Mary's) and foods to suit all. From Dumplings, to Indian, Arabic...
The Ritz Carlton offers one of my favourite brunches in Abu Dhabi in regards to food. They have luxurious dishes and you can never run out of options. The scallops station is exceptional and the foie gras station Is the best in the city that I've had so far. The abundance of lobster tails showcases what a top class brunch it truly is, and they even have a lobster Thermidor station. It would be nice to have more warm options for the lobster area but I can't complain. The cheese and desert rooms are a trip and the drinks are lovely but not inspired. Going again in 15 days and can't wait to update my review with more fabulous brunch food!
This review is based on the Friday brunch. I first went in September 2015 I have been about 5/6 times since. I think that says a lot as I keep returning. It is our go-to brunch when we have visitors over. The seafood station alone was the reason I wanted to bring my Dad and the Dessert room would certainly keep my Mum happy. If you drink alcohol it really plays a part when choosing a brunch. Having been in AD 4 years I have come to the conclusion when doing a brunch it's either a "foodie" or a "boozy" choice to make depending on the group/occasion, how recent payday was and who's working the next day/pregnant! This is the only brunch I have found that has something for everyone. The food is amazing, all of it! The service is wonderful waiting staff joking and chatting and anticipating our needs. All the different food stations makes it something for everyone. They have a small kiddies food station, which I have to say have amazing sliders! And a play area outside well away from the adults. There are several drinks stations, Bloody Mary, Mojito, Cosmopolitan and Chocolate Martini all of which my drinking friends were hooked on. The staff were plenty helpful with topping up our water and wine and soft drinks at the table too. The Cheese room is something else, so many choices, best just to have a bit of everything! Same for the dessert room! I've learned that I usually start at the seafood and work my way down the room and on my second last visit realized I was missing out on the good stuff down the end! Mexican food! So I started backwards last time, good choice. Got to make my own nachos which was great as when they come as a meal can have to much chilli and you end up with soggy chips, not pleasant. The plated fois gras and scallops are a must to try, so rare to have such individual luxury at a buffet. One thing I really liked was the approach taken when taking last drinks orders and informing us that they would need to settle the bill shortly. So polite and not forceful like I've experienced in so many other places and as we were in couples they made sure to divide it correctly. We were given some drinks vouchers for the bar upstairs for post brunch drinks which was a nice finish to the day. It is on the expensive side for a brunch yet I find it to be 100% worth it with the great selection of food and drink, fantastic service and in a fabulous, luxurious setting
We tried out the Saturday buffet here. They have a beautiful setup. The outdoor dining area is amidst all the nature and faces the pool. We chose to sit inside though, closer to the buffet.
The manager Rui was a super friendly guy who took us around the buffet telling us what was what.
Some of the things that I liked were the tomato mozzarella salad, lamb leg ( have it with peppercorn sauce & fresh mushrooms), prawn ceviche, freshly made ravioli (mix the white & red sauce). The beetroot mousse in the salad section is a must try!
The buffet is a mix of a variety of cuisines - Indian, Italian, Arabic, Mexican, etc. There's something for everyone. Oyster fans are in for a treat!
I was impressed with the dessert counter. Plenty of desserts to choose from, so make sure you save some space! Loved the Java cake.
Just a little suggestion - I wish they'd keep the cheese counter closed at all times as I saw a fly hoovering around.
Very nice food very nice ambience. Staff very helpful and the buffet has a big variety to choose from. Unfortunately they did not have jasmine green tea .
This is the largest Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton, which is bang opposite the grand Mosque.
This was where I had the Morning Buffet breakfast and has the Friday Brunch during my ten day stay at the Ritz.
Breakfast : the choices were amazing, I liked the Mediterranean specialties and the fresh juices counter.
We had requested for some Indian options which were duly complied with and there were some excellent Indian choices. So full marks for customer service.
The Brunch : is definitely and affair to remember with about 20 stations. The Seafood station was mind boggling. I liked the fact that they actually had Wagyu beef fillets at the buffet, which by itself should have cost an arm and a leg)
The desserts were also large in number, I liked the chocolate based desserts.
I loved the brunch , especially for the humoungus choice available compared to the brunches we get in India
Most things lean towards friendly and enthusiastic rather than super delicious, but that's the overall service at the hotel, so far I've had 6 meals and it's an ok restaurant, the service is far better than the food. During our stay the place was humming with people grabbing a bite for breakfast just before heading to the long lasting sessions and back in for lunch before heading out the afternoon sessions.
I had a Thursday dinner with the family. Service wise it was perfect, staff were friendly and welcoming from the minute we stepped into the hotel. Food wise our expectations were higher, the salad bar was great, mains were ok, deserts were average. Overall, they were playing safe throughout the whole buffet and they didn't meet our Ritz expectations.
Had inhouse breakfast. Indian food options were less . ambience was lovely.. everything looked fresh and fine.. had some options for south indian dishes, tasted as its origin... corn flakes, musli , flavourd honey n flavourd curd are really nice to try. Fresh Live preparation of sandwich gives a classis touch.
By no means am I a member of the AD brunch crowd, but with a friend moving back to the UK, I had to suck it up and join everyone for a farewell brunch. I have nothing against brunching except for the fact that I leave five pounds heavier and my bank account leaves five pounds lighter.
This RC brunch was actually pretty good. My friend, Nyoki, and I walked in and immediately eyed the fresh seafood stations. That was where I planned to make this brunch worth the dent in my pocket. The seafood was excellent as was expected. If It had been anything less, we might have had a problem. ;-) while the cold crab and shrimp were great, at the end of the day I prefer my food hot. That's where the scallops came in. The were cooked at their own individual stations and the presentation was that of a five star restaurant which I appreciated since I'm not a fan of buffets. In the back of the restaurant was a salad station and a station that had a mix of just about everything which I found a bit odd. Biryani, shwarma, bang bang/firecracker shrimp (just like the P.F. Chang's appetizer, but I don't know what they called them), shepherd's pie and a mix of other random items. Nyoki said the shepherd's pie was good and we all enjoyed the shrimp. You can't really go wrong with bang bang shrimp.
There was a roast station in the middle of the restaurant but I didn't try it. There is also an entire room devoted to cheese! Sounds great in theory, I know. But if im not at a wine and cheese tasting, I don't need all that cheese. So needless to say, I didn't try it. I felt my calories could be better used elsewhere...
Which brings me to the dessert room! Yes, I said dessert ROOM. I'm always disappointed in desserts in the UAE. I'm totally over the little flavorless cakes that eat up all my weightwatchers points and don't even offer a taste reward. I can say that the dessert room had some hits and some misses. Which is perfectly fine with me since it was an entire ROOM. Lol. Sorry, I get excited over dessert. :-D I had some really good Brownies, strawberry cheesecake, and a whole bunch of other stuff I don't recall, mostly good. The misses were definitely the gelato/ice cream. The chocolate was too rich, the local flavor too chalky, and the third flavor I had...sadly, I don't even recall what it was. I literally eat ice cream everyday so if I don't remember it, thats a bad sign. I do remember that it wasn't bad.
The main reason I don't give this restaurant a 4.5 or a 5 is the service. I understand that we went the last Friday before Ramadan but service wasn't great. I had to ask repeatedly for a mojito and after the third time, one came and it was wrong, regular instead of strawberry. Service left a bit to be desired. And lets face it, its the RC I have high expectations of the service.
Went for corporate buffet , luckily it was all indian buffet ! With seating outside and inside , it is a large resturant ! As it caters to high end clients , ambience is suited for that ! Coming to food , Amazing variety with brilliant taste , very few buffets I find vege food taste and this is one of the place ! Mashroom matar, Alu gobhi was amazing ! Chicken dishes were also soothing to taste buds ! Two varieties of rice , lemon and kashmir pulow were well prepared and tasted delusios ! Deserts had huge variety with ice cream as addition ! Only item I missed was naan !:)
This review will be exclusive of the Friday brunch at Giornotte.
I have been to a fair number of brunches in town and each has a different offering and most at quite a high price. I was quite excited to try the Ritz Carlton friday brunch and I was not disappointed. With 20+ food stations available, the small plate is the name of the game here and an appreciation of single flavorful bites is essential to fully appreciate the offerings.
This brunch is white linens with cloth napkin, but the atmosphere is very casual and the service was top notch. Food stations included foie gras, scallop and shrimp, egg station, among many others. The highlights included a leg of Wagyu beef, an expansive cheese room and the most elaborate and expansive dessert section I've seen. Needless to say I quite enjoyed the food, drinks and service.
With the reasonable price (240++) attached to the brunch I will be returning soon.
