This place is good for Malabar style food... They serve authentic Kerala food and have an extensive menu... We ordered Fish Masala, Chicken Ghee Roast n Mussels Fry as starter.. Neypathiri n chappathi to go along with these curries... Fish masala was good, Chicken ghee Roast is just average n Mussels fry can be made bit more crispy... Chai was excellent
I had seen this place couple of times but had never visited but on recommendation of wife's colleague we finally tried this place and we did a small order comprising of
1.The cream of chicken soup - Good fare nothing special (i suggest you guys skip the soup here to keep space for the main fares)
2.Chicken Kondattam-Kerala and Chinese fusion starter (as described by our server)
3.Chicken Erachichoru- A rice based chicken dish served in a wrapped banana leaf 🍃. This was the real star 🌟 for me. The rice was flavorful with abundant chicken pieces and piping hot after unraveling the same from the banana leaf (must try dish).
All in all a good place to try kerala cuisine with a nice ambience for families!
We have ordered chicken biryani, vegetables biryani and payasam of the day. Chicken biryani was very nice but we feel the gravy/curry masala was less so more of ghee rice and payasam was awesome
Went for lunch to Ghee Rice with the family and it has exceeded expectations.
Once inside, you climb up a short set of stairs to a well appointed dining area which includes curtained off cubicles for extra privacy.
For starters we ordered the following:
The Inji Puli Prawns - Though, the prawns were frozen prawns, it was beautifully made and infused with ginger and tamarind. It was so good, we ordered a second portion. 5/5
The chicken 65 - Again, wonderfully spiced and made. Very generous portions as well. 4.5/5
For the main course we ordered the following:
The Chicken Dum Pot Biriyani: The Biriyani is served in a clay pot and cones sealed. The rice is super aromatic and comes with tender pieces of boneless chicken. 5/5
The Mango Fish Curry: The fish was kingfish. Wonderfully prepared with nice slabs of kingfish fillet. Reminded me of my mums fish curry. 5/5
The fish curry Thaali: The thaali cones with an assortment of small curries and a small portion of fish curry. The fish curry of the day was Barracuda. Some of the vegetarian dishes in the Thaali were just ok. 3/5
The Beef Chattichore: This is basically ghee rice cooked with beef curry so the entire dish is infused with the beef curry. It comes wrapped in a banana leaf. The rice was a bit spicy, but there was generous amounts of beef in it and the beef was super tender. 3.5/5
Chicken Nerichathu: Which is whole roast chicken stuffed with masala spices and then grilled. Well presented and delicious: 5/5
They do serve Bamboo Biriyani, but we’re unfortunately out.
Too stuffed for dessert.
Service started off a bit slow, but improved during our meal and service was very attentive. 4/5
Food quality is excellent @ 5/5
Food portions are also very generous: 5/5
Value for money: 4.5/5
Overall experience: 4.5/5

Pothi choru is so tasty . Nostalgic kerala food. appreciate your efforts
Nice flavour, but chicken was a bit dry and overcooked. Authenticity was missing without banana leaf...it actually adds to the flavour !
I have been ordering from Ghee rice restaurant for quite some time now. I have ordered biriyani, chicken platters, paratha and few other dishes. Overall I liked the quality of the food with reasonable pricing and nice packaging. Pothichoru was very very spicy though and would not recommend. Moreover restaurant has free delivery option, even then zomato will charge 5aed for delivery. Overall I would rate 4/5 for this restaurant.
I don’t have a different restaurant name for kerala cuisine!
Must try Ghee roast beef and porotta. Pothichor is really good too! Their combos are also amazing.
Pothi chore is a must try! Absolutely delicious!
