We had ordered the margherita pizza, wood fire potatoes and a baby spinach salad. The pizza and the cocktail were amazing. This place has a lovely vibe and is perfect for a date night.
The food is good and the Shisha is amazing 😉. Mostafa the Shisha guy is nice and friendly. Knows what he is doing😊
Basta is a trendy italian restaurant the Renaissance Hotel,Downtown Dubai. Fusing the food and feel of a Roman trattoria,Florentine steakhouse and Neapolitan pizzeria into one buzzing venue,BASTA!. They serve fresh and full flavored italian cuisine in a stylish place.Diners can enjoy delicious food and great music with a cozy ambiance at BASTA,and a great service we won’t forget.
Nice atmosphere and good food but very pricey. As Italian, I loved the ricotta and spinach tortelli, they were fresh and “al dente” like in Italy. The carbonara was not acceptable to italian standards though. Tiramisu okay even if with too much cream.
In good or bad times, this place is a reference for great food, great classy respectful service. I asked to replace provolone with Parmigiano and they did. I will surely come back.
Cure little place in Renaissance.
Starters might need a bit more of work.
Main pastas were something to talk about.
Cannoli and Tiramisu were the highlight of the night!
Really worths going back there!
Every restaurant at the Renaissance hotel in unique in its own way, not just because they serve different cuisines but also the way each one of them are done up really well, the service and every little attention to detail that have been looked into. Basta! is yet another GEM here.
The restaurant is really pretty with quirky interiors and a lovely outdoor facing the Dubai Water Canal. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is simply delicious.
We were here to try the Saturday brunch which is actually a set menu and everything from the starters to the dessert is brought to the table. We were told that there was a live music band that played all afternoon however as we were there post New Years they were having a quiet afternoon.
We started the meal with the Tuscan bread salad and the Mozzarella Caprese, tomatoes basil with olive oil. Both of these were extremely flavorful and fresh. The Antipasti selection followed. This was a platter with generous portions of cold cuts, Italian cheese, Olives, Sun-dried pesto and pumpkin Bruschetta, this platter was an absolute treat and was irresistible.
We were then brought the Wood Fired Pizza, this one was a Margarita, needless to say we loved it and Margarita being my favorite I couldn't stop eating this one. We were also served the seafood pasta. This one had great flavor however was slightly undercooked.
Now coming to the mains, we were served the Grilled Chicken scaloppini in devil sauce with red onions and bell pepper, this one had tender pieces of chicken breast in a mildly spicy sauce that had great flavor. For the mains we were also served the Chef's selection of butcher cut Tagliata. It is tender chunks of steak with greens on the side, this one simply melted in the mouth.
Italian desserts are always the best and here we were served the Tiramisu with crushed biscotti, Sfogiatella (a lobster tail in English as it resembles it) is an Italian pastry with a berry filling and a Lemon panna-cotta. Every single bite into this was sinful but was worth it.
