This was our first time in this restaurant ..we ordered a mix grill and sabzi qorme and the quantity was quite good .Their Service was quite fast and the staff was very attentive .Ambience of the restaurant was very pleasing .
Had a good experience ..will visit again
Abshar is the most popular and most important Iranian Restaurant in Dubai. I really love the decorations, hospitality, waiters, valet, the live bread station and so on. But when you calculate all this to the service of delivery and presentation it is upmost outstanding. The manager came to our table and other tables atleast twice or thrice, this is super wow. But then the waiter Bilal and the others are super active and keeping an eye on your table and making sure everything is clean and neat and tidy. Now, comes the food and i have no comment but to say Thank You. Really an absolute Thank You. I can't describe how it feels and taste (as its amazing) but i highly recommend that you guys go and dine in at Abshar and experience what we experienced. Sahtein 😊
Restaurant is clean, service good. Qiality food it's really good compare to price. I have been already few times and will visit again.
The place is decently decorated
Lentil soup was creamy and flavourful. Add a squeeze of lime for extra tango ness
The rice is soft , meat cooked to perfection. It just melts in your mouth.
The tea was too strong for my palate so I had it in sips along with the dates and sweets served.
Mind the portion sizes , it’s huge. So I would suggest place an order and then order if there’s space left. I struggled and had to pack the remaining.
Amazing food and excellent staff. One of the best service you get in Dubai. Kebabs were delicious.
Grand Abshar restaurant is a persian restaurant situated in Umm Suqeim, in Jumeirah. The restaurant is nearly two year old and it serves some fabulous and authentic iranian fare in a very simple and casual setting. I had an opportunity to visit Abshar with food blogger suren rajamohan this week. We really enjoyed the fare, ambiance and service.
Abshar Iranian Restaurant-Dubai;
A truly Persian Affair. You’d love the ambience, set in the older times, the glorious chandelier & guests dining room decorated with fresh flowers for each table. Beautiful!
Now the food, menu is authentically Persian so you’d find all traditional dishes like Dizi, Tachin, Chelo Kebab, Iskander Kebab, so on and so forth.
We started with some Bademjan, followed by Aoush, and then devoured some kebabs that came with a side order of saffron rice !
Everything was delicious & lastly the tea service had my heart, beautifully served in a teapot with condiments & sweets.
Loved the place, it has a soul that calls out to you. Can’t wait to be back.
The interiors here tries to capture the time past of Iranian glamour. The restaurant is simply stunning, with large inviting reception area, where stunning chandeliers inviting you, the tiled floors are grand. The place is so big, you can easily sit over 300 people. They take you back in time. Once we sat, we started to go through the menu and the host was kind enough to help us through it. We ordered the strawberry and Mango juice. Loved it, no sweet was added, the natural flavours were intact, we just asked for more ice. We ordered their Abshar special salad, which has hommous, tabouleh, mutable. This was served with a traditional bread perfect thick, crisp and topped with sesame seed. Excellent, flavours were fantastic. This was good enough for 3 people, great portion size
Foodie Rahgeers are back with another exploration and this time it's authentic Persian food. This was our first visit to Abshar and frankly speaking we just loved the over all expereince. The place has quite a vibrant atmosphere and they serve delicious food.
We tried their traditional starters along with their famous mix grills of chulu Kebabs.
If you are looking to try authentic Persian/Irani food then this is the place to go.
Do try them out and let us know your experience.
I visited this place with my friend to try persian food.
As firet insight, we were impressed by the decoration at the entrance has a unique style.
Ambience was really good, quite music which let you relax. Menu has a big variety of food. we have selected mix grill and grilled shrimp.
Staff was so firendly, and we met the owner. A very polite and gentle guy.
Food was so delicious and plates are generous as well.
Good presentation and taste.
Service was quite fast.

Loved the persian ambience and the very rich menu. We tried the Mirza, Keshk Bademjan, mix grill and the star of the evening was the Dizi; a must try! Their crispy freshly baked bread is also a winner. They also have a sweet/goodies shop near the entrance. Recommended for authentic Iranian goodness.
Absolutely love the place! i have been their customer since the start and have always had family gatherings at the restaurant. Theyre super friendly and love the food
I tried hot starter with an eggplant, it was really delicious. The bread was fresh, the smell was giving me gastronomical pleasure. As i’m uzbek, it reminded me our clay oven baked fresh breads. The most i liked their minced beef kebab. It’s tender and fresh. Must-try. The staff is really friendly, especially if you like attention. As they are always around checking on you.
I would say desserts are fine, could be worked on. The music was really calming and pleasant. Go and try this place at least once for the Persian food.
We had a beautiful date here last week.
My rating:
Food: 4.5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Pricing:5/5 (reasonably priced considering the ambiance & food)
Absolutely recommend this for a date or a family dinner👍
Let me highlight some of the things we liked here:
-Parking & Valet: restaurant has lot of parking space. We went on a Saturday. There were lot of cars & security/Valet helped with parking so that we didn’t need to wait.
-Ambiance: Beautiful lighting, spacious restaurant & good layout & ambiance in general. The tables are arranged not too close to each other so good privacy & safety too.
-Service: great service. Attentive servers & I noticed how the manager was checking up on customers on other tables too to make sure everything was satisfactory.
-Food: Persian cuisine done justice is how I would say it. The manager & owner suggested some of their signature dishes & we decided to go with it. Best decision ever!
Dishes that we liked the most are:
1.Kash Bademjan: 4/5.
Really flavorful grilled starter. Grilled Eggplant with yogurt, mint & topped with fried onion & nuts.
2.Dizi Abgosht: stewed lamb with vegetables that mashed table side after separating stock. The stock is served as a soup & rest is mashed & served with a fresh yogurt drink on the side. This dish can be considered as a meal on its own!
3.Chelo Kebab Soltani: kebab was soft & melted in our mouth.
4.Faloodeh: frozen rice noodles soaked in rose noodles & topped with Persian sorbet. This one is not like Indian Falooda at all. We really liked the bite of cold rice noodles.
5.Persian Sweets: we really liked the platter which had lot of options like pastries that looked like profiteroles but not too sweet, koloocheh- a cookie that is stuffed with cinnamon, sugar & crushed walnut & more.
6.Persian tea: one of the best Persian teas I have ever had! It comes with a platter of tea biscuits, jalebi, dates & another sweet on the side.
Honestly the quality and taste of food compared to price is soo satisfying, the food is fresh tasty and hospitality is remarkable i loved the place a must try is Deezy and koubdieh
Staff is very welcoming
Taste is amazinh
The platter was good but the lamb chops were the best. The rice also tasted well but the butter was missing..
The platter showed aryan but its not served. The salad leaves were fresh.
Loved the food, especially the Sultan Kubbideh. The bread and soup are so addicting. Food came fast, hot and well packaged. My go to for kababs 🙏🏽

Appetizers : chicken tikka platter
Cuisine : Afghani Mughal

The decor and the price were ok.
The food was really good (especially the complimentary bread & the chicken soup ♥️)
The staff were so lovely and nice, made me happy when I left the restaurant.
Definitely will come for a next visit 😊
Abshar Is The Best Restaurant In Town..

The Real Taste Of Persian Food 😋🤤👌👍
The order came late unfortunately, but the food was good.
I used to visit this place weekly since 2011 and I'd definitely say that the quality has decreased here since then....the stews used to be so juicy and kebabs were more tender and delicious..still abshar is among my iranian fav lists but lots of improvements could be done..
Having lived amongst Iranians in the 80s, we have become very accustomed to Iranian food and hospitality. Abshar’s home delivery reminds us of that very time - the uniformed driver, the free condiments and starters along with a authentic tasting main dish. The Masi Musir is perhaps the most authentic we have had here.
Amazing as it always has been.
From the bread, Koshk O Bademjan, the famous lovely Iranian Barely soup ( a mustttt try),Kobedeh Kabab to the tea and their small sweet delicacies.
The best Persian restaurant in Dubai (compared to those with the same price level and not the fine dining ones)
A must try!
My beloved Iranian friend took me to this place. They have a valet parking and team is very attentive. The interiors are quite old fashioned, however, food is beyond delicious. We tried soup, a drink similar to Laban, many small platers. Oh the bread, I loved it! It was so delicious, we couldn’t even finish the mixed grill after all the bread we had.
A must-go place for genuine Irani food.
Truly the best persian food in dubai.
Its authentic and delicious. Clean space, good staff and valet parking.
I can eat there every week. :)
Best Iranian food in town. The Mix Grill is enough for 6! Don't order it if you're only 4 like we did and ended up having a good coma. Was worth it though. It you feel like getting a protein boost this is the place to be at.
Iranian cuisine has often inspired the northern parts of the Indian subcontinent. Hence a lot of the recipes have bits of iranian food and ingredients like plums, apricots, walnuts are used in our pulaos and curries. Not a stranger to the ingredients, Abshar's food still gives a pleasant surprise with all the ingredients that are so subtly amalgamated together. With a huge list and variations, you will have to visit quite a few times to cover the variety. Generous helpings and beautiful iranian bread is given complimentary, the mint leaves go really well with all of their dishes too.
The must try dishes- Kash e badamjan- a whey and eggplant dip- delish, rich and goes really well with the bread. The Baghalla Pollo ba Ghost- the meat is oh so tender! Served with some pulao, it is whole and sometimes difficult to finish by one. A good place to try authentic iranian cuisine. The service is a bit partial and a lot of times the servers are not able to able explain the dishes whch should be worked upon.
One of the fine Iranian restaurants in Jumeirah..
Family friendly environment.. well arranged place..
Dishes varieties are more than the other restaurants...
I can't say more than: "Delicious" food
Would highly recommend it to all.
the best authentic place for iranian kebas, the bread 'sangek' which is cooked on pebbles is one the best breads you can taste, this is the only place which serves you that.
the kebabs are fresh and cooked well. be it the kebab platter or the individual kubedeh, everything tastes just perfect. tadiq is also a must try.
Just had an amazing dinner here. Fresh meat fresh bread and fresh salad
Prices are reasonable too. We tried the chelo kubideh, mixed salad n traditional Iranian Dizi! Scrumptious!!!
Definitely recommend and return
Abshar has been one of my favourite Iranian restaurants to go.
The food is great and the little bakery outside that makes you fresh Iranian bread is yum !!!
But the only recommendation will be that I think this place needs a change in their decoration , the atmosphere isn't very pleasing as you expect a Resturant to be, as I believe change is always good !!
Overall amazing Persian food !!
Was originally referred to Abshar by an Iranian friend and it consistently serves great food. The mixed grill is more than enough for two people and the lamb kebabs (yoghurt marinated and minced versions) are so tender. Saffron spiced grilled fish is also wonderful, as is the barberry-bejewelled rice. Just need to visit on a Monday so I can finally try the fesenjan.
Being an Iranian, I am proud to call Abshar the first restaurant that serves authentic and traditional Iranian/Persian cuisine. I have recommended them to my non-Iranian friends and colleagues and they have loved the experience too!
I always say that the foods are like home cooked foods. Truly delicious, mouth-watering and freshly prepared. The sweets are the same, truly good to be true!
Love the ambience, the music (sometimes live) and the staff; a truly worth-it experience to go for!
Amazing food and amazing service. Definitely coming here again. Their grilled food is very unique and unlike anything I've ever tasted before.
Am visiting Abshar from many years, and from last 2years I go to this branch. I am big fan of Iranian cuisine and Abshar is one of the best in town. I have tried all their dishes and each dish is full of authentic taste, my all time favourite is the iranian bread(the best in town), lamb with yogurt, zarish puloa and the laban.
I strongly recommed Abshar....
Average place and taste. I've been in other Iranian restaurants that were much better.
We dropped into this place in the afternoon, well parking is a bit of a find as the most likely place to find it is behind the restaurant in a back lane. The restaurant itself is delightfully and tastefully decorated with little momentos and paintings adorning the walls. There's a lot of color in the place and the food matches the expectations. We had a famous dish called "Dixi" which is a mashed concoction of mutton and potatoes and spices. Service was quick but without the courteousness you are used to in Iranian restaurants. We did have the manager come by and wish us bon apetit to be fair. In any case, it's a one time visit to enjoy a different experience /cuisine but I'd choose @Pars Iranian Restaurant over this anytime.
best Iranian restaurant ever !! i visit them monthly
the price is very awesome and the food very tasty ❤️ also the the people there are very kind and helpful
I was taken to this restaurant by my Iranian friends, the food is lovely. I have tried many dishes all of which are wonderful. The salads you start with and the freshly cooked bread from their own ovens outside, is the best I've had in Dubai. The staff are lovely and very friendly, we always finish outside in the shop buying fresh nuts dried fruit and amazing puff cream pastries. Don't let the decor put you off it is quite gaudy. It's friendly and always a must go when visitors come over.
I have experienced a best iranian traditional breakfast with delicious sangak (special iranian bread) with very lovely atmosphere ,
My suggestion is to try sangak with iranian kabab for lunch ...
Execllent ambiance
Decent pricing
Friendly staff
Chelo kabab
Jojeh kabab masti
A very nice place to have irani food with good ambiance . I had a very good experience to have such nice food . As i was recommend by one of my friend . Mouth watering food it is 😊
I want to tell everyone to try irani food you guys will love it ❤️
Ordered a big mix grill for the family today and I can most certainly tell you a bahar did not disappoint ... Great meat and chicken and they brought additional soup and salad which where really good
Nice place to have lunch and smoke good shisha.. Good service but little bit slow.. Tasty food, calm and nice atmosphere.. Nice place to come again
Great authentic iranian cuisine, definitely worth a visit
Best things to have are: the barley soup as a starter, and the stone oven baked bread is just to die for. Go for the iranian tea, and/or the faloodeh Icecream to end your meal.
Good Food, Staff Is quite friendly and always happy to serve you.
I had ordered for a Kubedeih along with Barley Soup . The Kabab was quite juicy and delicious .
I would recommend this place for a quiet dinner with family.
nice one for Persian food , great services i really like it, the food is great and the services is excellent, for sure will come back again. try the rice amazing
Yesterday i want there with friends to have dinner , good Iranian restaurant located in jumairah near to fat burger. You can have chelo kebab with rice and safran very lovely dish 😍.
Abshar lives up to the repute build at the original maktoum rd branch. One of theee best keshk baiten jaan. Above avg koobideh, lamb kebab. decent yoghurt tikka but cannot match ostadi. Shrimp were hard and chewy. Will go to pars for the shrimp.
This place will leave you speechless, its just great!
Nothing but great things to say about this place, delicious food and excellent service throughout my visit, will be going back for sure, even if its just for the great Sangak bread.
We were a group of eight golfers that just finished the round and eager to eat at this authentic Iranian restaurant. Most of us never had Iranian food before. After the experience, most of us began singing praises of the cuisines with a promise to come back.
We asked the waiter to order the food for us based on generic directions on the content. For appetizers, we received: Abshar special salad, tabbola, hummus, moutabal, chelo kabab e mumtaz, Kabab tikka masti, and couple of other veg. dishes. We also got mixed grill for four persons along with sea food mixed grill that has everything. We combined this with some rice dishes and were very full. We finished with Iranian tea. I did not particularly like it but some of my friends did. I enjoyed the Faloodeh dessert.
Overall, one of the best meals we ever had. We will be back if we are in the area.
The nice & classic place for eating Persian food. The Kababs are very tasty especially mix specialGrills called kabab makhsoos.
It's nice place for dining with family & to enjoy your calm evening.
I walked into the restaurant with very high expectations because of the 3.9 rating on Zomato. If I learned anything in life it would be disappointments because of the high expectations I carry.
The whole experience was not disappointing. It was actually nice, but then again nice is the worst adjective one can use.
I praise the restaurant for being equipped and well qualified to handle a family of forty members. They did well, although they couldn't fit us in one long table. Three was quite reasonable.
We were first served complementary cheese and green vegetables. The cheese was good especially with the Iranian bread they served along side it. The bread is quite delicious. An appetizer platter was served next, it contained all my favorite western Middle East appetizers: Hummus, tabbouleh and fattoush. A choice of Adas or vegetable soup was presented. I chose the vegetable soup, it was delicious! Quite some time later a huge rice and a mixed grill platters were placed on the table. I forgot to take pictures for my stomach yelled for food. The meat was a disappointing. What I've been waiting for wasn't as I expected. I've always loved the Iranian kebab with Laban-kofta, and my tastebuds were expecting a different taste instead they got the typical ole' meat.
The juices they serve are fresh and appetizing. The lemon mint I ordered was a bit sour but it was good.
The service was okay, staff usually hate large families and I can't blame them so I'll give them that. Yes they were frowning, yet they were not horrible and too grumpy.
Bottom line: nice experience.
It's not first option for Persian food
Abshar is the epitome of authentic Iranian food in Dubai. Nothing fancy, mind - just good, wholesome food. The Jumeirah branch is a welcome relief to those who live on the 'other' end of town - it's saves them the drive to Deira. Personally, I like the Deira branch more but perhaps that's because Abshar Jumeirah tries to be something it's not - upmarket and posh whereas Abshar Deira has always been unashamedly middle-class. That said, the food - which this review is all about - is excellent. Service is Filipino friendly, chop-chop quick and very colourful with all the servers dressed up in flowing multi-coloured native Iranian costumes. Their Friday-only buffet lunch is an epic event which only the Iranian Club can match for variety, authenticity, volume and quality; actually, Daniel and Apple probably outdo them in variety and volume but not quality. As mentioned in my Deira review the Sangak bread and Ash Reshteh are OMG! good. For starters do not order anything similar to what you may have had at Lebanese or Turkish restaurants, i.e. hummus, tabulleh, etc. which are Levantine not Iranian. Instead order the yogurts: Mast Musir (yogurt with shallots) or Mast Khiar (yogurt with cucumber) or the aubergine based starters - ask one of the Iranian waiters for help if in doubt - they will be delighted to guide you. Visit Abshar, you'll love it.
I just love the Chelo Kebab and the Koubeideh here ... I can treat myself on these at anytime of the day :D
Abshar has good reputation among the iranians in dubai. The make the traditional and authentic iranian kababs and stews. The plate mix of vegetables, walnut, and iranian cheese along with the fresh bread ( sangak ) is amazing. If you want to try a real iranian style food you need to visit abshar in jumeirah. They also have private rooms for the families & business meeting where we enjoying our food in private area and discuss our projects in the same place. I really love their traditional dizi with the fresh bread, which remembers me the old days back in tehran.
I've driven past this place many times and noticed cars lining up to get in. Last night, when my other dinner ideas were thwarted, I decided to finally give this place a try.
As your walking in to the restaurant, you walk past a fabulous looking sweet shop and a room with a man making some sort of long, thin bread in a wood burning oven. More on that bread later.
The place is bright and kitschy inside. From the heavy, brown, classic doors on the outside, I was expecting a more classical look. The staff quickly showed us to our table and were very attentive throughout.
I had the Chelo Khoresht - E - Ghormeh Sib Zamini. It's a lamb stew with split peas topped with fried shoestring potatoes, and it comes with a mountain of rice. The lamb stew was very tomato-ee (not a bad thing) with very tender pieces of lamb. The rice was light and it didn't stick together at all. It's one of my favorite dishes of rice that I've had in Dubai. That rice would be good with anything (Chinese food, curry, etc...)
The wife ordered the Dizi. Its a soup with mutton, peas, and white beans. They asked if I wanted it mashed. I wasn't sure what she meant, but I said yes anyway. They drained the broth (which was awesome by the way) and served it in a bowl. Then, they proceeded to mash together the lamb, peas, and beans inside the cooking vessel with a mortar. What resulted didn't look particularly appetizing, but it tasted fabulous. It turned into a thick paste that we gathered up with the Sangak bread. The bread is thin and crispy, but it still has a bit of chewiness. We ate three of them, but could've eaten way more. I would go there just for that bread.
The table next to ours ordered different kababs, and they looked so good. I might have to go back and try them, and eat a ton more of the Sangak bread.
Any Dubai foodie knows, Kebabs are ubiquitous here. There are so many types: Lebanese, Egyptian, Armenian, Palestinian, several types of Indian (Lucknowi, Hyderabadi etc.) and finally Iranian. Of these, Iranian is my favourite: not as coated in spices as Indian kebabs, not as bland as other Middle Eastern ones. It should be noted for those who may not know, Iranian culture has had a major role in the development of Dubai, indeed this city became a port largely due to the Iranian tradesmen who settled here about 60 years ago. Therefore one expects the best Iranian food in Dubai, and one can certainly find it if looking in the right place.
Abshar is one such place. This restaurant in a converted villa in Jumeirah 3 is very close to where I live, and as a result I've been there a few times. On my last trip I came in for a quick early dinner (around 6 pm). I ordered their kashk - e - baadinjan (a mezza made with pureed smoked eggplant topped with kashk and fried onions), followed by their mixed kabab. This happens to be the best dish here, as it has one skewer of each of my favourite kebabs. the chicken and lamb cubes marinated in soured yogurt and black pepper and the minced lamb kebab. It comes served with 3 kinds of rice (plain with saffron, with cranberries and with fenugreek).
The Result? All I can say is brilliant. I loved every bit of it. All three kebabs were soft, melt in the mouth and moreish with a sour, deep flavour. The basmati rice had generous amounts of butter added in the cooking process and it came out tender with each grain separate. The eggplant mezza previous was brilliant too, i find it is very hard to work with eggplant in a cold dish as it can easily come out bitter or seeded but this was perfect made, and the kashk gave it a creamy smoothness while the fried onions added extra bite and flavour. All of this of course came served with their amazing Iranian bread.
I followed all of this up with some Sulaimani (saffron) tea (perfectly made) and headed out to their sweet and nut shop which is made in a converted outhouse in front of the restaurant villa. They have some amazing baklava, biscuits and high quality nuts (especially the pistachios).
Finally, I'd say if you like kebabs of any kind, come and try this place. My seafood ordering friends did not love their dishes, that's why I'm taking off a half point. Come here for the meat, bread and rice. You won't be disappointed.
Amazing atmosphere. Great food. Friendly staff. Perfect oven baked Iranian bread. Don't miss Lamb Yoghurt Kabab if you are there. Interior decoration is amazing. Resembles authentic classic Persian style. Recommend it to all.
Delicioussss food. Great authentic Iranian dishes served in big portions.
I went to this place for Iftar buffet only AED110, it was very good! Authentic Persian bread was amazing, great value ;great food, you will not be disappointed.
I visited this place twice in less than a week ... food here is to die for , Sultani Kebab and Dough is a MUST try !
The Authentic Persian bread (Sangak) which is made at their own bakery just at the entrance is so crispy and yummy
Altogether a great experience

For some reason, My kids LOVE coming here. Maybe it's the super kitch decor and wall art - a veritable kaleidoscope. Maybe it's the waitresses dressed in crazy persian-inspired costumes. Maybe it's the food. Who knows what it is exactly they see in the place, I'm happy they love it because so do I.
They always order the yoghurt marinated chicken kebabs (jojeh masti) and I adore the lamb ones (tikka masti), but there's plenty more to love. It's the brunch on Friday they drag me to, which is 95 AED all you can eat, and they have a dessert buffet full of sweeties. Plus a help-yourself fridge of soft drinks, allowing a free-for-all on Miranda. We all adore the 3-foot long lavash bread.
Service is fairly good, but I've encountered the occasional grumpy waiter. Pricing is fairly good, but not a knock-down bargain. Appetizers are very cheap for the quality, kebabs and grilled items pretty standard.
The highlight is definitely the kashk bademjan, which is roasted and mashed eggplant with drizzles of kashk, sweet mint sauce and crispy fried onions. Kashk is fermented whey, which tastes a little like creme fraiche mixed with a barn, but in a totally good way. It's the colour and consistency of tahini, and quite feral, but it's only a little on top, and it contrasts the other flavours something smashing. It's not expensive, so you must order it, just to try. Dip your lamb or bread in it.
On the way out, while you're waiting for the valet to get your car, stop at the sweets shop out front and get some saffron ice-cream and some Iranian baked and sugar-soaked goodies for the road.
Favourite iranian, nice bread cooked over stones, real foof
If it’s your Birthday and A Man from Iran invites you to an Iranian restaurant you say yes!! I said yes and was taken under the wing of A Man from Iran as he shared with me his passion for food from his home country.
The Restaurant of choice was Abshar on The Beach Road, how many times do you drive up and down that road and miss something? After a little investigation I also found out that Abshar’s first Restaurant and Sweet Shop opened in Deira in 2000 so I suppose we can say that they are firmly established in the UAE.
I loved the decor of the Abshar, it’s strangely quirky and truly authentic with amazing big paintings around the place of famous places of interest in Iran. Those of you who who are of Iranian descent or familiar with Iran will notice that the areas are themed and each area has a special attachment to Iran.
When we arrived at the Restaurant we watched the bakers making their traditional Sangak Bread in a small bakery adjacent to the main building, I couldn’t wait to try that and we weren’t disappointed. It arrived piping hot to the table with some mint, walnut and goats cheese as a complimentary starter. The menu is pretty comprehensive and there are good explanations of each dish but I didn’t have to worry about that I just let The Man from Iran order what he recommended.
We kicked off with Shirazi Salad, a mixed of chopped cucumbers, tomato and onion flavoured with grape juice and mint. We also had Mast Moosir, a delightful mix of yogurt and shallots, and some Mirza Ghassemy a mix of crushed eggplant, garlic and tomato, this is definitely one of my favourites. And for good measure we through in some hommos and portion of Olvieh Salad which is chopped chicken, potato, egg, pickled cucumber (gherkin) and mayonnaise. I enjoyed all the starters immensely but tried not to eat too much in preparation for the main course.
We moved on to main courses, The Man from Iran and I shared an amazing mixed grill with minced meat, lamb chunks and boneless chicken or Alighapoo as it is known in Iran. I love meat so this is the perfect for choice for me (I know you will all be wondering why I didn't go for the fish but I had already had Iranian fish at lunchtime) the meat was beautifully spiced and presented with my favourite whole cooked tomato (it's the little things). My husband opted for the Fried Zobeydi fish and Mrs Iran chose the Cholo Khoresht Gheymeh -E- Ghemieh Sib Zamini which is a very tasty stew of chunks of lamb, potato, and split peas.

The food was all beautifully presented, we didn’t wait ages between courses, and the staff were courteous and prompt yet not invasive. The setting was lovely and I had a great evening, not only spent with lovely friends but learning more about Iranian food.
At the end of a fabulous evening I was presented with a beautiful Birthday cake which as you can see from the photo had some huge strawberries on the top and some rather tasty chocolate sauce!!! Amazing! Now all I need to do is offer a huge thank you to all the team at Abshar Jumeirah and my Man from Iran for making it a very special evening indeed.
