They've got the fish bucket that is a dump of primarily shelled seafood ... crab, prawn, clams. Their specials of the day and the prawn fry was great. Likely to be a bit on the spicier side for many. The flavors are ok, rice was basmati, should be small grain or sticky rice. We also took to pare parothas with it and it was very nice and soft. Iam sure the other dishes will be extra good. Should say the ambience is beautiiiiiiful, the vibes are very decent and exciting. Overall had good time.

So ever since I saw reviews about De Fish , I have been looking fwd to try them out. Went there last night for Dinner - started with small shots of welcome drink which had a combination of green chilli , honey , lemon and ginger . We ordered Tawa Fish Fry (opted sherie) , kappa and king fish(naimeen) chatty curry, kerala parotta , wheat parotta and prawns roast , fresh water melon juice and lemon soda. At last we got a small glass of sulaimani which was bursting with flavours!! I would highly recommend this place if you are a seafood lover like me!! Tawa Fish Fry is a must try which is tasty & perfectly cooked . Ambience & Seating- 3 / 5 Food quality - 4 / 5 Service - 4 / 5 Rates - 4 / 5

Seafood meals are good at this restaurant. We have options to select the fish and can ask them to fry it for us. Their poothichore was average. Very crowded on holidays.

Highly recommended for South Indian fish preparations. Gets very busy on the weekends. One should book a table before visiting.

Was their frequent customer last few months. Went there last weekend for their special seafood sadya. Very disappointed with the quality of food. Had taken guests there giving huge build up about the taste of food but was embarrassed. Their usual midday meal is much much better. Charged higher amount per person for sadya but food was below par and extremely disappointed.

There is no dearth of restaurants serving Malabar cuisine in Dubai, especially in Karama. So when I visited @defishrestaurant and found a (socially distanced) crowd waiting for a table on a Saturday afternoon, I was looking forward to the meal even more.<br/><br/>The staff welcomes everyone with a complimentary shot of ginger and lemon juice, masala lassi (buttermilk) and the traditional Karingali Vellam which is pink coloured warm water drink infused with herbs and barks that have Ayurvedic properties. These drinks are served unlimited throughout your meal.<br/><br/>I tried the following dishes -<br/><br/>Fried Chili Prawns - that were slathered with traditional Malabar spices and lip-smackingly good. Must order whenever you go.<br/>Butter Garlic Prawns - were my least favourite dish because the garlic and cream sauce didn't work for me.<br/>Pan-fried Sea Bream - chosen fresh from their days catch and it was delivered to our table perfectly pan-fried with delicious spices that had a flavour of Jeera/Caraway seeds.<br/>Fish Curry - cooked in coconut and traditional Malabar spices with a smokey flavour that went beautifully with the Malabar Parotta. I would go back just to have this.<br/>Jackfruit juice - was refreshing and had a unique taste akin to a mango and pineapple mix. Ask for it without sugar because the fruit is sweet as it is.<br/><br/>I am not a fan of seafood or very spicy food and yet I really enjoyed my meal at @defishrestaurant because they were able to tone down the spice levels without compromising on flavours and the seafood itself was fresh and tasty. My third visit to DeFish, and this time with my dad. We went ahead as we craved for some good Keralite food and this was the closest to my house. <br/>We started off with a Crab Corn Soup, Spicy Seafood Soup, and my favorite starter, Fish Tikka. The soups were delicious, especially the Spicy Soup as it had a good level of spice and tanginess to it. The fish tikka as always was well cooked, full of spicy flavor, with a side of chutney. <br/>For main course, we had Kerala Parotta with Fish Curry and Jeera Rice. <br/>We did not have any desserts but did have a fresh glass of orange juice.<br/><br/>Social distancing was maintained and we were served in disposable cutlery and plates. The service was excellent and the head chef was checking on all tables. The servers explained each dish as they served, which was quite good.

We have been going to this place every month now. The sherry fish fry with green pepper marination is really mouth watering alongwith shrimp fry or tiger prawns. The tawa fry fish preparation tastes good alongwith porotta and gravy.

De Fish is a very unique restaurant located in-between the busy streets of Karama. Even though this place serves a lot of Seafood items, the place does not have fish odor. Restaurant is very clean and you get an exceptional service from the staff. We had stir fried Mussels, prawns, Fish tikka and a South Indian Style Cuttlefish (thick gravy) with hoppers. The food awakens your tastebuds and delightful...A place that all sea food lovers should explore...

Took more than 2 hours to deliver. They sent the food using two delivery men! They also don't understand english or hindi properly. De Fish is THE place for fish lovers! Especially if u love the Kerala traditional masala fried / grilled style. The chef Mr Sarasan, worked his magic and took us back to Kerala with his amazing hospitality and cooking. Our host was Rakesh who explained the various types of meals and showed us the fresh catch of the day. We picked the Samudra Sadya along with the signature Avoli Tawa fry special which was sooo yummy and delicious. We were mind blown. 5 stars for their hospitality and food quality.<br/>

De Fish is in a prominent corner of Karama and a very busy place for all sea food lovers. No doubt the people visiting here look happy. They serve fresh sea food that you can select from their display, choose the red or green marination and they cook it for you the way you want.<br/><br/>Dragon Fish is an excellent starter chinese style. The fish with vegetables was excellent in taste. Fish Tikka cooked on their Tandoor was extremely soft and succulent. We could not believe that Fish made on Tandoor can be made so soft. The marination is A grade compliments to the chef. Hamour Tawa Fry, we selected a full Hamoor and we selected the green marination. We also requested for not to fry too much time. The Chef made it exactly the way we wanted. Excellent taste and marination. The fish was also very fresh catch.<br/><br/>Fish Polichathu Sea Bream. This is a traditional fish delicacy of Kerala made in a fish masala wrapped in a bannana leaf and cooked in steam. The marination used is excellent and the fresh fish was very tasty. The aroma of the masala and Bananna leaf is very heavenly.<br/><br/>Prawns Masala in main course is another great delicacy of De Fish. This is their signature dish. We had it with Kallappam which is a traditional Dosa type appam. The Kallappam was also tasting excellent. Do not miss this one if you visit the place. My image of this place is deteorating day by day. I was a huge fan of their tawa prawns which my roommate introduced me to. But both their quantity and quality has been seriously fallen down, while the prices are shot up!<br/><br/>We just ordered our dish from here last week and check out in the pic of what we received for 40Dhs. It was almost as if it is half eaten, and trust me it wasn’t.<br/><br/>We wouldn’t have mind paying if the prices would have seemed worth, but it really didn’t.

Fish shappu curry this curry is. Very different and it one of the best curry to have in non vegetarian and so I had that and the quantity of the curry too is awesome. I enjoyed having this curry very much. My brother took me here when. I had went Dubai to meet him

We ordered for simple plain rice, de fish prawns curry, and paratha. The first comment that I want to make was the rice was spoiled. Even though they took it back and the order was cancelled, why in the first place they decided to serve that. And second we paid 50 AED for a Sea bream(fresh from counter) tawa fry, which ultimately was very salty and to garnish the above experience we had, it was not fresh. We would have had a great sea bream if we went to fish market and grilled them in a nearby local shop that would have only cost you 25. And secondly, the signature dish de fish prawn curry was okay up to my perception. And it is not worth the hype that my colleague gave me. Maybe if I tried lunch menu there my perception could change, but yesterday's experience was a disappointment.

Good customer service mistakenly they changed the order while delivering and after I informed they placed my order with no charge.

Good restaurant with variety of fish items.

We been here on yesterday. This is the third time we been here. Yesterday we had Fish Tikka , Kallappam & Fish Molly. All the items are really good. Our favorite item from De Fish is Tawa fry. I will surely recommend my friends those who loves to have seafood.

We ordered chapathi and fish fry. Fish fry was good but the chapathi was very hard. I think they are providing readymade chapathi instead of fresh chapathi. So I would advise not to order chapathis from this restaurant

Weird tasting reheated prawn and kingfish.. Really disappointed 😥.. Hope this is a one off case...Been a recent favourite otherwise..

For the hype of the place, we ended up there quite excited to try out the seafood. Upon entering was greeted by a tired looking staff who couldn't care less about the fact that we entered. Upon asking for further advice on what was special, we got a bland response saying everything in the menu was special. Not a very welcoming place, the food was decent nonetheless, nothing great to write home about. All in all a place to get in if you don't mind the slow service and are a fan of seafood. Moreover was told the ADCB discount isn't valid anymore for no apparent reason. If that is case why does the restaurant have it up on Zomato, kind of a false offer. Overall, disappointing, sorry.

I had ordered the fish tikka and fish biriyani. It was amazing ❤️ (good quality fish I must say 👍🏻). The only downside was slow service. Despite that, I would visit the place again 🙌🏻

Today was my second order (delivery) from this place and I wont be ordering again. My order was Alappy Fish Curry and the Kingfish had some foul smell. I didnt bother contacting the restaurant over it as its not worth the efforts of calling and was busy in office. Just discarded it. The first order (Fish meals) that I had placed a month ago was average. I was misled by the 4.3 star rating I saw on Zomato. The delivery too arrived a bit late and I had to contact Zomato Customer service to followup on the order.

Was late to arrive and just recently introduced by a friend and fellow sea food lover . I LOVE this place. My eyes were bigger than my tummy !! <br/>Calamari roast - excellent ❤️<br/>Prawn curry - YUM .. had to focus on the calamari and bring the prawn home.❤️<br/>Great portions, genuine people.

Some smell ok king fish fry.. fish rice combo it was mota rice .. in menu it’s not at all mention like mota rice an all .. over all not satisfied..<br/>

Had fish meals here. Food was good with lot of variety. However the fish coconut gravy and fish fry served were not fresh and the marinate too had a stench. Overall it’s good place to eat

Fish tikka and fish vattichath was good. Fresh fish, Tapioca was too dry and felt as if they use frozen tapioca. This is a place where service is good and seafood is prepared fresh.

Heard so much about this place, was super excited to try out their fish delicacies.<br/>Fish curry meals and veg meals - Both were decent.<br/>Fish pollichathu - We had pomfret pollichathu. The marinade was amazing. Loved it.<br/>Fish tawa fry - Hammour tawa fry was delicious. Amazing flavours.<br/>Fish molly and chapathi - A major letdown. Kingfish had no salt, tasted plain. Fish molly is supposed to be super flavorful, but this one was nowhere near the actual curry.<br/>Somehow didn't like the chapathi also. Unfortunately, they didn't have porotta or appam or any other bread either.<br/><br/>Service was slow. May be because it was a Fri noon.<br/>Also, even though it's a fish speciality place, didn't expect the place to be so smelly. The place smelled of raw fish. This was not something that impressed me.<br/><br/>I would appreciate the fact that the food was not over priced.

We came here to have their fish meals. It was so good with all the curries and other items they served in the meals. It was unlimited and totally worth for the price we paid !

After viewing the reviews for this restaurant, we decided to order dinner from here. We tried the chatti fish curry and kal dosas. An absolutely delicious combination. The fish curry had a fantastic aroma and flavour and the kal dosas were thicker than usual, which could be deceiving, but only when you dig in you’ll realise how good it tastes. Would like to visit their restaurant soon.

Ordered fish moli...tasted yummyy...but interms of quantity it was very less...the special fish tawa fry was cooked well but the marination tasted raw in the middle...their kappa cums with a small super spicy vatticha curry...will visit again for the meals!!

Very good restaurant offering tasty, quality sea food cuisine. You can choose your preferred fish from the live counter and can get it cooked at your taste. Also in offer variety of traditional kerala food at affordable price.

Each and everything about this place is top notch when it comes to their food ordered for their Friday meal which was served in banana leaves it was delicious loved their seafood option as well

The price for the food item "pothichor" is AED 12 in their menu card and 15 dirhams when you order from there directly and almost 20 AED when you order through zomato. So please be careful while ordering through zomato and from this restaurant. Chances are high that they will take your money.

Visited this place for dinner and tried their De fish special fish cookies, Butter garlic prawns , chilli garlic noodles, Thalasery fish biryani , Kallappam, De Fish Meen manga salad. I must say the food here is amazing and pocket friendly too. This restraunt is a must try. Not forgetting the fish pickle they serve here we landed up buying a jar of the pickle which they sell separately...

Hello folks,<br/>I don't write reviews usually, unless it's exceptionally good or bad and this time it was really bad. Ordered American chopsuey and got undercooked food. Hope the restaurant takes notice and work it out with their chef.

Amazing sea food, good ambience - can choose to sit outside or in. Service is good and the fish is always fresh!!! Prices are totally worth it.

If you are craving for South India Fish Thali then De Fish is the right place to go for. <br/>Served on Banana leaf. Thali comprises of rice, two types of fish curry, two vegetables, dry fish pickle, fish masala, curd curry, pickle and papad just for 10 Dhs each. <br/>You can add fry fish to your thali, starting from 5 Dhs one piece for fried piece to max 15 Dhs for 4 piece of mussels fry. They do have choice of fry fish.<br/>If you are in or around Karama then must try this place.

2.5 hours of wait for the delivery (lunch). And that too something which is readily available. Even though the food was nice, I wish not to order from De Fish again.
